You didn’t like the Gryffindor parties, but your friends had convinced you to join them after they won the House Cup. The common room was full and loud, and you couldn’t hear much over Sirius singing along to ABBA’s Dancing Queen.

You stood in the corner, awkwardly holding your drink.

James stubbled over to you, clearly intoxicated beyond measure.

“Heyyyyy y/n,” He said, waving until you thought his arm would fall off.

“Hi James,” You said, smiling softly, taking a swig of your drink.

He sat down next you, resting his head on his palm and looking up at you.

“Were you always this pretty?” He said, gazing up at you.

“Oh come off it Potter, you’re just drunk.” You replied, trying to hide your blushing cheeks.

“No, you’re just gorgeous.” He said, taking a drink from the half empty bottle in his hand.

From on top of the table across the common room, equally drunk, Sirius yelled.

“Hey Prongs! Stop flirting with y/n!”

Marlene stopped dancing and glared at him. “Oi Sirius, stop being a cockblock! Let the lovebirds flirt in peace.”

James giggled, and flopped into your shoulder. Your cheeks flushed red, and you tried to relax.

Softly, James’ snores got louder.

Remus came up to you, and you quickly noticed he was probably the most sober marauder here. He smiled at you and the boy leaning on your shoulder.

“You should take him up to his dorm.” He said, nodding towards James. “Sirius is too drunk, and Wormtail wouldn’t be able to no matter how sober he was.”

You laughed softly, trying not to disturb James. “Yeah, I’ll take him up now.”

“Bye lovebirds” He said as he walked back towards Sirius, who was still dancing and singing on the table.

You looked towards the boy still leaning on you. Softly, you move his head off your shoulder. His eyes flutter open, and he looks up at you.

“Hey y/n” he said drowsily.

“Hi. I’ll take you to your room, kay?” You said, looking down at him.

James nodded, still half asleep. You put your hands under his arms, and pulled him up so he was standing up. You pulled his arm around your shoulder, and you began walking to his dorm.

You took off his shoes, lay him on his bed, and pulled the blanket over him.

You sighed as you looked down at the boy.

“You’re so pretty James.”

He smiled without opening his eyes. “Not too bad yourself l/n.”

You sat on your bed, pressing the ice pack to your aching forehead.

“Please y/n, I just want to talk to you” James said, on the other side of your locked door.

“No.”

“Pleaasseee y/n” He said again, and you could practically hear his puppy dog eyes.

“I don’t want to talk to you James.”

“I’m such a shitty boyfriend, but I promise i’ll try to do better.”

You sighed, but stood up. You went and opened your door. “What do you want?”

Your boyfriend stood sheepishly in your doorway, tracks of his tears shiny of his cheeks. “I just wanted say i’m sorry.”

You moved out of the way, and he collapsed into your room, sitting on your bed.

You glared at him. “I fell off my broom and nearly died, and you were too busy flirting with whatshername… the slytherin girl, that you didn’t even notice! Remus had to take me to the hospital wing so I didn’t pass out!”

He sighed and ran his fingers through his hair. “Look, I’m so sorry, it was such a shitty thing to do and I swear I just thought it was a harmless joke -”

“Well it wasn’t was it?” You interrupted, still furious.

“I know, i’m sorry, I didn’t mean anything by it and I was jealous and tired-”

“Wait” You interrupted again, your voice softer this time. “Jealous? Why?”

Suddenly, he went quiet.

“I don’t know, you just hang out loads with Remus, and I thought if you saw me with that slytherin girl you might get jealous start hanging out with me more. It was stupid and I-”

“Yeah it was stupid, and you’re an idiot, but you’re still my idiot. And you’ve been a terrible boyfriend, but I wouldn’t cheat on you for the world.”

James wiped the tear from his cheek. “I’ll do better. I swear.”

You smiled and he stood up, collapsing into your arms. “I love you dumbass.”

He giggled softly, nuzzling his face into your neck. “I love you too.”

“Promise me you won’t leave me for Remus?” James said, looking up at you.

“Promise” You replied. “But promise you won’t leave me for the slytherin girl?”

He laughed. “Promise.”

You were absolutely wasted, dancing on top of tables and singing until your throat was sore. You had just won the House Cup, after all. Then, Killer Queen came on, and that didn’t help calm you down. If anything, it did the complete opposite. Immediately, you began singing.

“Yeah, go y/n!” Sirius yelled from across the common room, equally, if not more drunk than you.

Behind you, above all the noise, you heard a soft laugh. You knew that laugh.

“Remusss!” You slurred, spinning round to face him.

The boy blushed, and you laughed. “Come dance with me silly!” You said, making grabby gestures with your free hand.

“No way.” He said, shaking his head. “I’m going to stand here, and you can keep doing… whatever it is that you’re doing.”

You frowned at him. “Join meeeeee.”

He sighed. “If you insist.”

You smirked. “I do insist.”

You put your drink on the closest table, and grabbed his hands, spinning him round.

“She’s a killer queeeeeeeeeen!”

“Merlin y/n” Remus said, shaking his head. “You sing nearly as badly as you do when you’re sober.”

You gasped and slapped your hand to your chest in mock offence.

“Lupin, you wound me. Now dance with me, stop standing around like 12 o’clock half struck.”

He laughed, and awkwardly started bobbing around.

“Merlin, you can’t dance to save your life.”

He frowned. “I can dance!” he protested.

You laughed. “Bullshit.”

You grabbed his hands, and spun him faster.

Keeley grinned. “Karaoke is the best place for budding romances.”

You sighed. “Fine, but there’s no way I’m singing.”

Keeley squealed, grinning at you. “If you need help choosing what to wear, let me know.”

You snorted. “Yeah right.”

You worked as an assistant for Keeley at AFC Richmond, and she and Rebecca loved to rope you into their outrageous plots to get you and Colin Hughes, - who you may or not have a small crush on - together.

You laughed at her impatience, and messaged her back. You went downstairs and opened your door.

You frowned, “Oh no way in hell am i - ”

Rebecca grinned. “If you sing now, I’ll do it next.”

You grumbled, but got into the stage.

“Do you have a song you want to do y/n?” Colin said, looking at you.

You thought for a moment. “Uhh… oh I know!”

Quickly, you put on the song, and began singing.
