🩵 YUGIOH! - Second longest running fascination. Upside!! Made life long friends. DOWNSIDE!! Was my first go at online engagement and in those 10 years so much happened that I still can’t help but feel a little sour. …Though ygo back in the day wasn’t good at tag comments, so I didn’t even know those were a thing for years until I branched out. 5/10. But grows to a 7/10 because i’ve settled into a niche area with so few people that it’s now a silly little club. 💕

🧡 Dragon Ball/Z - GENUINE CHAOS. Started off slow but intensified hard cuz get who got involved while Super was airing??? (I didn’t watch it lol), so the discourse and fighting was at an all time high. I have no idea how I even survived this in retrospect. My slight association with people netted me troll asks and my liking of Yamcha also set me up for those. …and frequent art reposting, and quite a few bizarre interactions. Pretty sure my art and edits have circulated more in latin america than I even know. This was also pre-tumblr purge so the amount of nsfw that got thrown my way is… something. That said!! Made also really good friends 💕 and DB/Z probably desensitized me to longer form discussions. 5/10 for insanity, but 8/10 for good reception and VERY PEAK and generous humans.

I think dbz hardened me.

💚 Invader Zim- started off fun (mostly irl with my friendo from days of YGO), but quickly devolved into territory that tested my patience. WHY ON EARTH THIS SERIES’ CONSUMERS had such a huge morality high ground base is beyond me. It’s this fandoms fault I learned about certain modern day online discourse terms and what instilled an irrational posting fear for a year lol. Fun at first and there’s super creative and receptive folk (then those people got kicked out) and left the most insufferable beings imaginable. There’s no in between. Shoutout to all 3 friends made who are still peak. 3/10, if I ever finish any remaining projects or decide to bite the bullet and show completed work, i’m not engaging again. The base just skews somewhere I can’t handle. Which is crazy given the ABOVE contenders have, on paper, done so much more.

dbz hardened me but iz weakened me. Which is probably why i need the formers bootcamp back. Don’t think I’m as fearful now, but i’ll still be salty.

💜 Twisted Wonderland - this is a work in progress experience. Will require further evaluation if all of the above experiences haven’t set my standards. Will stay in my corner. So far it’s 6/10 in vibes (they’re much calmer than the last one), tho I question how much of the interest is from what i do vs. what I did for others. Haven’t shared a ton of opinions yet and god knows lol we don’t want that /s. Still recovering from the former making me wanna just not do much. Baby steps I suppose.

💙 - Sonic The Hedgehog: This is a cheat, I have never interacted with the fandom directly (purely by happenstance, so thankfully no traces exist), but I have been into this since I was a child with no issues. So by default this is the best one. 10/10, didn’t engage, but I do lurk. Though all the stuff I see on tweeter isn’t exactly anything out of the norm for fandoms in general to do, so it weirds me out that people rag on this one for just kinda talking amongst themselves about innocuous things.

“omg this fandom is arguing over QUILL length ughhh can they never be pleased [30 yt videos about this drop]” ngl, this just feels like par for the course junk fandoms do. It really feels no different from DBZ where people go ham about the art style changes and which one is better. Or stupid shit in IZ where they fight about comics vs movie vs show. Like??? The only major difference here is that StH has more people in it (by the millions).

So literally nothing these folk do or say strikes me as anything more serious than what other fandoms already do??? Its just more outsiders see it then churn out content and perpetuate something worse from what’s honestly….pretty tame stuff. Maybe it’s just twitter’s setup given that’s all folk talk about.

The academy was an absolute rollercoaster for anyone enrolled. Larry and Kyle never really looked back on it fondly, but they always recovered from any of the downsides - as long as they did it together.

Larry loved sparring, one of his favorite classes since he had gotten the hang of it so quickly. However, recently the old instructor had been replaced - this one seemed to hold some sort of grudge against Larry for no apparent reason. Despite the fact Larry never noticed anything wrong in his form or his movement, he still would get strangely low marks on graded duels. When he met up with Kyle to discuss grades, he was just as confused as Larry was.

That bad day or two slowly built up into a bad week. One day, the library had been closed when he had plans to research for an upcoming project. Another day, during class, any time that he raised his hand - so confidently, too - he had gotten the question wrong. Little things, slip-ups that shouldn't have mattered, started shifting his mindset.

Larry started listening in on conversations in the hallways - during the walks to classes he didn't share with Kyle. Larry knew it was rude to eavesdrop, but this was a kind of distraction from his own thoughts. Out-of-context jokes, arguments, and a lot of gossip. Occasionally, Larry swore he started hearing comments about himself. Although they were very vague, he didn't know anybody else who could be described with such ‘crafty insults’ about his misstep during sparring. He kicked himself for listening in on those people, the students he didn't know and therefore couldn't report to any authority.

It wasn't until he had flunked a test that he realized the comments had been getting to his head.

Larry sat down in the lecture hall in his same spot - next to Kyle. Larry placed his cane in the weird gap between chairs so that it wouldn’t clatter onto the ground again. He tapped Kyle on the shoulder. “Do you have-”

“A spare quill? Snacks in case the lecture gets dry?” Kyle pulled out both, ready to go.

“Oh! Thanks, Kyle.” Larry took both, then turned back to Kyle, “...but actually, I was going to ask for something else.”

“Hm?”

“Do you have any…” Larry hesitated a little, thinking the request was too obscure. “Do you have any earplugs?”

“I don’t think I have any on me. What do you need them for?” Kyle elbowed Larry playfully. “Are you planning on tuning out of today’s lecture?”

The two shared a laugh for a good minute or so. All of a sudden a loud, rhythmic clap brought the whole room to face the speaker.

“I’ll tell you afterwards,” Larry whispered.

Following the lecture, Kyle and Larry traveled together to their next class. The hallways were particularly less crowded in this part of the academy. That meant individual conversations were easier to pick out - a blessing and a curse. Larry overheard two people making a not-so-subtle comment about his cane that made him tense up. Larry lowered his head to try clearing his mind. Kyle nudged Larry, a face full of curiosity that noticed something was off.

Larry sighed. “There’s people talking about my cane behind my back,” he muttered.

“Well then they must get kicked out of the library real quickly, talking that loud,” Kyle mocked, which made Larry crack up. “Are they from our class? I could try ratting them out to a counselor.”

“I don’t think I know them? Honestly, I didn’t even look to see their faces.”

“Next time that happens,” Kyle rolled up his sleeves. “We’ll take them on together.”

Larry nodded, now energized with the idea that there was someone on his side. Kyle clicked his tongue, "So that's why you asked for earbuds."

"You know, it's hard to block people out."

"I get that." Kyle then had a bright idea, which lit up on his face. "I can talk with you between classes as a distraction! It's… an alternative to earplugs."

Larry was stunned by this act of kindness. "You still have to walk to your own classes on the other side of the building, though! I don't wanna be the reason you're tardy."

Kyle waved the thought off. "You think I do sprints in the morning for nothing?"

"I'm not doubting your running capability!"

The duo barely noticed that they had reached the classroom. They plopped into their seats, just in the nick of time.

Kyle nudged Larry. “Still planning on giving me that sword fighting lesson we talked about?”

“Mind if I move the date to tonight?”

“Date?”

Larry chuckled. “Oh, you know what I mean!”

//Hi friendos! Update time!

I debated for the last week, though didn’t verbalize it until now, to maybe delete this blog and start from scratch. But, I decided that I don’t think that would be a good decision and probably brash and not done just yet. The reason why, is because I feel like as much as I love Vaggie I’m not doing as much as I want to do.

So, before I get into anything else I just want to say this quick disclaimer since I have yet to mention it and I just want it to be known!: VAGGIE is a pretty cold person, and a little mean and a little stand-offish at first. PLEASE please don’t take this personally. And please know she and I are not the same! So even though she may be giving your muse attitude or isn’t very warm--please don’t take this personal. And I am definitely not her! I love talking to new peeps and I’m just a doof and not anything like her! I welcome new pals and interactions! And with those in her circle there is a different side of her! So I just want that to be clear!

And on that note, I want to say I’m a super shy person and a little socially anxious; though I think a lot of us are! So I get a little nervous when approaching others for the first time, but I’m going to try and work on that and I also want everyone else to know that if we’re mutuals  you can totally hit me up any time. OOC or IC! I feel like I haven’t interacted with you all as much as I would like or at all! But I would love to change that.

Also with that said, in case we are both a little shy even still, I’m making this post also a permanent starter call. Meaning, if you give this post a like then it’s kind of a silent ‘hey I see u homie!! lets interact!! send me stuff any time!!’ on both ends! It’s helps me know you’re cool if I send you memes and asks, and you’re letting me know that you’re interested as well! Or that I can tag you in starters, or you to me, etc!

@drxgqueen: I just discovered your Angel and I love him; I love how you write his dialog both the words themselves and how you write his accent. It’s just a little detail that I love. Your Angel is so charming and a joy to read on my dash!

@hellsaurelius: AHHHHH. DAD. I love him. I can’t believe I’m saying this, me who is scared irl of devil shit (and i’m not even religious lol) is saying YO I LOVE SATAN. Because your portrayal of this particular Satan is so golden I can��t even put into words. You’re a joy on my dash and I love your interactions with @rejecteden! My big fave husband and wife y’all amazing. But for real, I love how goofy and theatrical he is and like I said, he’s just such a pleasure to see every day. I love your headcanons about him and everything about him, just, ah, love ya!

@rejecteden: SAME AS ABOVE P MUCH. I love her so much! Your portrayal is so interesting and i just ah i love her! I wanna know more about her! She’s so fascinating! You’re another fave on my dash and your interactions with Satan is just so brilliant and nothing short of entertaining and amazing! 

@hellshost: BRUHHH so you’re another big fave of mine! Such a fun Alastor and I just think he’s so funny and fun! He drives Vaggie nuts and I love it. I love the little radio show stuff you do with him and he’s just so much fun ah I can’t stress it enough!!

@happilyhellish: Of course you’re on here, I HAVE to put you on here. You inspired me to follow my dreams~ and make Vaggie’s blog in the first place! Amazing Charlie, amazing mun, I love you. You know that I do! Our interactions are nothing short of a treat for me and I love how far they’ve come in their relationship. And your portrayal of Charlie is just on point. You’re just fantastic and I love you so so so so much to the moon and back. <3

So i had one of the bestest times of my life at the BTS concert on my love’s birthday >.<  I went all out on the DIY concert goods lolol (Namjoon pickets on the upper left and the "I❤️NY" t-shirt remade into an "I ❤️ NamJoon" shirt). 

The whole experience was amazing and surreal and unforgettable but in the 0.00001% chance that I do forget, here’s what happened:

-got to the arena at 11am and spent the next 6 hours waiting in line, buying merch, waiting in line again, taking pics in the BTS Studio, waiting in line again...but all of it was hella worth bc their cutouts looked so good lol and my face would have never been seen next to any of theirs otherwise.

-concert: okay so my irl experience was a mess bc my phone was running low on battery so my mind was debating btwn taking concert videos and saving my battery for like half the concert, not to mention i got deaf two songs in so I could only hear higher tones. In other words, all the members sounded like they were on helium OTL but lemme tell ya, they still sounded good

-all the members look SOOOO FREAKIN PERFECT like i know they have their concert makeup on but HOLY SHIT THEY LOOKED F L A W L E S S. Namjoon came on the screen and I screamed loud, mostly out of shock of how beautiful he was and slightly bc he should hear how loved he is. Everyone looked too beautiful but definitely JIN and Jungkook stood out in the looks dept like how do such handsome human beings exist?? 

-SHOUTOUT TO MY MAN JAY JUNG HOSEOK. HE HAS SUCH AN INSANE AMOUNT OF STAGE PRESENCE HOLY SHIT. My eyes kept on gravitating back towards him the entire time bc he was always doing something, something that showed who owned that stage. Also, no one else could ever make a tasseled jacket look so right. Anyway, I really swerved into his lane for so long (or at least more than i usually do) thanks to this concert...and i still may or may not be in it hehe

-Tae’s VCR was so mesmerizing and then he came on stage to do Singularity...wowowow that man knows how to work the camera. That jacket/robe he was wearing had crystals that formed an intricate floral pattern that was simply divine. Fit for the prince wearing it 👌 I think I appreciate Singularity (and V) a lot more now bc of his performance. On another note, I remember him being super cute and smiley, which was good for the heart.

-They performed the Fun Boyz/Attack of Bangtan/Fire/Baepsae/Dope medley which was what I was hoping for!!! Hoseok fkin wiggled his butt in our direction to start of Fun Boyz and that was the beginning of the end :) I can’t believe I got to see all those numbers in person wow <<< I Need U and Run too bc as an HYYH stan, singing along with those songs and hearing them live was incredible

-Overall crowd favorite performances were Seesaw and Epiphany for sure~

Seesaw: MIN YOONGIIIIII!!!! i still think about his performance everyday bc it was so charming and cute and aksdfjdjlgkslh ESPECIALLY WITH THAT RED SPARKLY JACKET ACH. Maybe everything about it was so...unexpected?? or contrasting to his regular onstage persona and that’s why he blindsided me so hard OTL. But yea the part where he does a lil nod + smile = my cause of death :)

Epiphany: From even before the show started, the Epiphany MV had the loudest sing-along so you bet that when it was Jin’s turn, everybody sang along with his beautiful voice. As I said before, his visuals are out of this world (his forehead was exposed 🙏🙏). Jin totally eyef**ked the camera several times too like whyyyy are you doing this i was not okay :(

-Their ments were done all in English, save for a couple sentences from Jimin at the end. I was proud of them bc they clearly put in a lot of effort to learn so they can better connect with their international fans. I do kinda wish that they spoke a little more though (in Korean or English) but they literally flew in earlier that day and probs didnt sleep much bc of Namjoon’s bday so they probably wanted to wrap up and go to bed lol. 

-If I’m lucky enough to get the opportunity, I definitely want to try for GA for a ~closer~ experience! They already seemed really close from my 1st level seats but looking up at them from the pit would be the dream 😂🤧

-shoutout to my special friendo @yoon-kooks for helping out with the pickets and being with me every step of the way to living out our bangtan dreams!!! I couldn’t imagine experiencing any of this w/o you  💜💜💜

P.S. I realize I failed to mention Jimin in any of this rip. @/Jimin ur a real cutie and ty for showering namjoon with love 😘
