“Do I really have to go get this shot?” João says in a distressed voice, you know he hates getting shots even if they’re ones that can prevent them from being sick.

“Of course you do, now let’s go, don’t wanna be late!” You grab ahold of his hand and walk him out to the car like a dog on a leash.

The whole way to the doctors office João anxiously sat in the passenger seat fiddling with his hands and everyone in a while complaining about having to get this shot.

Once you two arrive, he checks in for his appointment and you sit down in the waiting room alongside him.

“Babe… I really don’t want to do this..” he looks at you with such a worried look.

You cup the side of his face in your hand, you hate doing this type of pda in public but you can’t help but feel so terribly knowing how badly he hates getting shots.

After what felt like an eternity to João, the nurse comes out and brings the two of you to a room and tells you the doctor will be with you shortly.

He sits up in the patients chair by himself until the doctor gets there, she describes the shot and what it’s helping.

João is so nervous, he’s just eagerly nodding at everything the doctor is saying.

“Okay, it’s time!” the doctor gets the equipment ready and out, she starts to go towards João’s shoulder with the tool, that is until João blurts out,

“Can my girlfriend hug me on the other side so i don’t get as scared?”

“Of course, as long as she isn’t gonna be in the way of me doing the shot!”

You walk over to him and wrap your arms around his torso, he nuzzles his face into your neck.

“Here it goes..” the doctor starts.

João winces a bit and holds on to you tighter with his free arm. Once it’s over he hesitantly lets go of you and you go back to your seat.

“You are all set!”

João smiles and jumps out of the chair and towards the door.

“Thank you!” he wants to get out of the doctors office as soon as possible.

Once you two get out and get into your car, he goes completely silent, until he turns to look at you.

“Are you embarrassed of how nervous I get when I have to get a shot?”

“Not at all, j, why do you ask?”

“I probably seemed like a little baby in there” he snickers of embarrassment.

“You were acting a bit like a little baby”

Fall Special Edition Reading Challenge

Whoops! I've got a big TBR problem and a chunk of that is thanks to my love for special editions. The issue? I haven't read more than half of the SE's I own, and I can't keep allowing myself to purchase more when I don't even know if I like what I have. Plus I'm beyond out of space on my shelves and I think it's about time I start unhauling what I don't like instead of excusing their existence "because they're pretty."

So for this fall/autumn season, from September through November, I'm challenging myself to finish all 19 of my currently unread SE's and decide if they stay or if they go. Technically more books I preordered have arrived since taking these photos, and there are more to be delivered this fall, but I will not be forcing myself to include them.

Have you read any of these? If so, did you enjoy them? Are there some in here you want to read, but haven't had the chance yet?

"Pat, are you sure this is the place?" Pau asks, looking rather uncertain as the plane lands and the area outside comes into view of the windshield.

"Absolutely, this is where we were directed to fly." Pat confirms, glancing up at his husband. He could be such a pain sometimes.

"It doesn't look like the kind of place we'd go to pick up supplies, unlike what he said..." he whimpers, beginning to tremble a little. He didn't care much for the 'scary' missions, and on some level, Red Leader knew this - but he also knew that Pau and Pat were the most trustworthy, and thus, the go-to for specific missions.

"Ah, he just wanted you to come with on the mission."

"Now come on, quit whining, and ready your gun - we've got a rebellion to crush here in Sweden."

"Why can't I ever just be assigned the normal tasks...?" Pau murmurs to himself, sighing.

He really didn't want to be here - but he couldn't just refuse an assignment.

After all, "the only ones who would refuse are traitors to our cause", right?
