I'm always yearning for more Fenris/Carver interaction. They are technically in-laws, and I love seeing them together.

Well, here they are, getting ready to rescue the person that's very important to both of them. What a fantastic family bonding activity!

Perhaps Fenris feels a little guilty. He did promise Carver that he would rather die than let any harm come to Hawke, but Hawke chose to go off alone and leave Fenris behind to protect him. There was nothing Fenris could have done about it, but he still feels somewhat responsible. I think he'd like to express his remorse.

And the sweet precious little brother doesn't hold it against him! He, like no one else in the world, knows how damn difficult it is to look out for Hawke - it's like the guy is always looking for trouble, constantly challenging fate just to see how much he can get away with. And that's exactly what he tells Fenris - that his brother is a handful, and he understands how hard it is for him.

I like to think that he still considers Fenris impossibly cool and wants to be friends with him (AND THEY ARE FAMILY DAMMIT), so he doesn't let him dwell on it, and just says

Lets go save my brother
