since yasmin barely had any thought that came to mind, the disconnect between her and the character caused frustration. she expected it as it is her first leading role and pressure was more than she can handle, but she wasn't a quitter. " i mean who wouldn't? your movies are cult classics! " yasmin might have a head full of air but she knows good cinema when she sees it. " i'll keep that in mind. yes, sir. " using her pointer and middle finger to salute the director with a smile that threatened her lips. the smile was more so of a dream like one as she didn't think he would agree to dinner in the first place. throwing her arms in the air with a vibrant smile she can muster, " it was nice meeting you mr. hawkins. " standing up, she stopped when she stood at a distance in front of him. standing with her hands behind her back as she couldn't contain her happiness, " can i have 5 to myself and i'll be out? it will seem like you did replace me." she giggled at the reuse of the earlier threat.

staring at the script in her hand with a frustrated grip causing it to wrinkle. for the first time she was having problems with a script, the dialogue was written in a peculiar way to where she hasn't grown attached yet. looking up from the paper when she heard her trailer door open, expecting her co-star but when she registered that it was the director she felt her stomach drop a few feet. yasmin eyes widened at the keyword ; replace. " i'm- i'm sorry. please don't replace me. i'm just having trouble connecting with the character. i'll make it up to you, mr.hawkins. just . . . " she sighed. " this rarely happens. im usually on spot. i guess i'm not myself today. " large brown eyes stared at the man across from her.

“Listen, love,” Wesley began as he entered the other’s trailer, not even allowing her to speak first. “You’d better fix this  attitude of yours. I can replace you.”

throughout her years of acting, she had a consistent role as a supporting cast as the ' damsel in distress '. her team pushed for a change in tropes and that's when she made the bold move. thinking that she could take on a lead role in a wesley hawkins film. she would have adapted to it by now, but she couldn't find the connection. yasmin provided her full attention as she prepared herself for possible harsh criticism. her features softened when she caught on to his tone, " what is it about me that you see in the character? in your opinion, sir. " the actress leaned over to place the script on the edge of her vanity before getting up from the chair. " i hate that this is my first impression. " a sheepish half grin appeared. " i was kind of hoping to be the uma thurman to your quentin tarantino." she nervously twirled a curl around her finger.

the team that dressed her had already left, leaving her stuck in a tight dress that she was stuck in. yasmin tried to reach for the zipper in many ways, practically flopping all over the room just to get the damn zipper down. that was until she heard a knock at the door, with a soft ' come in ' she peaked at who the source was through the mirror. the second she registered that it was wesley, her cheeks went to a rose hue at the embarrassing predicament. " help, please? " the words soft and slightly sheepish. her head lowering while moving whatever strands of hair that could cover the zipper. " this dress is so tight i can feel my heart in my intestine. " she giggled. feeling his hands on her frame causes an immediate flutter in her stomach. the way the sweet release of the dress was inching slowly thanks to his slow movements. " you're killing me here. . ." the comment holding double meaning.

she started to grow tired of only seeing him over the phone. yet, she had to face the fact that they both were working on different projects. that, and coming to terms that she's definitely feeling something for the director. the actress just wanted to be around him as she started to feel secure and genuine support. even if it's through or a screen or speaker. thankfully, the role she was casted for was a supporting role so her schedule is flexible. it was her break period and she obviously went with spending it back with her friends and wesley. once she received her luggage, her eyes searched for a familiar figure. the minute she realized the face, the woman's features lit brighter than light son a christmas tree. getting closer, yasmin basically threw herself into the man's arms. attaching her lips to his to secure a sweet and welcoming kiss.

running over lines with wesley became part of her schedule. with him helping her grow more and more comfortable with the character to when the camera starts rolling she's a full on chameleon. once again she owed him so much more for such a sweet act. after the diner there was a shift in their dynamic, and she didn't mind it at all. having the person she admire this close to her, gifting her small touches, and sweet stolen kisses. it didn't feel real. she was sitting on the couch in the trailer with her legs over his lap, her eyes were on the words but she doesn't remember when her eyes trailed off. focusing on the man's handsomely sharp features while fighting the urge to climb into his lap fully. just the thought of it caused a rosy hue to spread across her freckled cheeks. the sound of the deep voice pulling her out of the trance, " i'm not cute all the time? " she perked a brow while narrowing her eyes.

" is this happening? " her surroundings became blurred but the only person that came into focus was wesley. did she have too much to drink or was this really happening. the person she admired the most in the film industry not only offered her great advice with patience, but was offering to be her mentor? there was a question following behind the thought but why question someone who has more experience than her. if only there was a wall to sperate them so she could celebrate. clearing her throat to attempt to hold back her excitement. " huh? oh no! i wouldn't mind! " yasmin placed her glass down, " i'm just touched that you chose me. like i said before, i love your movies. i'm just starstruck i think. " she confessed in a slightly shy manner. / @gcddamnvampire

Sweet lord, he couldn't even believe he'd been angry with her before. She was quite literally the most precious girl that he'd ever met and for some reason, he was feeling the sudden urge to protect her. From what, he wasn't entirely sure, nor did it matter. He just knew in that moment if any of the other cast members had any further issues with her — which he doubted — he would be entirely on her side. He didn't care what it would take, he would be sure that she succeeded in this industry and became the brightest star she deserved to be. It was just one of the reasons why he had offered to mentor her. "Of course I would," he said, chuckling softly. His eyes watched her, ensuring that she didn't respond negatively, but his smile only widened at the sound of her laughter. "Wesley, please. Because yes, I suppose I would in order to fully help you with your career. Unless...that's something you're opposed to?" Why was he suddenly so worried?

even standing near him made a grin tug on her lips, almost like it's permeant. most of it was due to her actually growing a bond with someone she admired. always being told to 'not meet your heros.' yamsin's was a charmer that was making her feel like a high schooler again. starting from being stubborn about certain lines and not saying them, take after take. wasting film. she was probably going to request for a negation. fortunately, with the choice of words from wesley, she took what he said and worked on it. she probably would run lines again after the event. as she was going for another sip she slight choked at the offer, " hm! " she hummed reaching for a napkin the tap the areas where the drink dribbled. the apples of her cheeks were already rosy at the man's suggestion but it got a bit dark as she tapped the valley of her chest after drying her jaw. then the words that made pounds of butterflies flutter in her stomach. " you'll do that? wow, that- i don't- oh my god, i think my brain stopped working. " she giggled out of embarrassment, " you have no idea how much that means to me, mr.hawkins. " looking up at him through her lashes. " that means you get to know me more outside work, right? " obvious answer but something flew over her head.

He couldn't help but return her smile as he took a sip of his drink, pleased that things had turned out the way that they had. He was worried that he was going to have to take drastic measures in order to get things better on set. He meant what he said about thinking that she was talented but he'd been so worried that she was going to be some kind of diva like he'd had to work with in the past. Wesley couldn't tell her how grateful he was that she was not only kinder than that, but that she was willing to accept criticism. "I'd be honored to be your mentor, Yasmin. If you'd like." He offered quickly, not even needing to think about it. "I know it can be a bit much sometimes, but you're going to be a big star someday. I can already tell."

she was definitely in over her head when she took on the role. she mostly did it to prove a point as she more than just the damsel. the mental transition is what caused her stunt but and simple conversation and self evaluation, she collected herself. and better yet, she felt refreshed. the more he spoke, the more yasmin's lips threatened her with a smile. when she felt the pat on her shoulder, she used her glass to cover her lips but ultimately failed. " to a fresh start. " tilting the rim of her glass in his direction with a winsome grin, " you're really good at that. giving advice, i wish i could have a mentor like you. sometimes i get a little lost out there. "

If anything, he was glad that things had turned out the way that they had. She was a sweet girl and clearly had good intentions, she just seemed to need a little guidance. Which was something that Wesley was more than happy to provide. Not to mention that he was excited to get to know her more, to see what other surprises she was hiding. His eyes scanned the rest of their party, noting how they all seemed a lot happier than they had after filming earlier. He only hoped that this camaraderie would continue when work resumed the next day. "I think so. Everyone has bad days, especially when they're just starting out. And you've proven that you care, which is a huge step. Not many can say the same." He smiled warmly at her, reaching out to give her a small pat on the shoulder. "A fresh start, right?"

she hummed at his words for a second, eye narrowing before shaking her head. " trueee. but you have to get your flowers some way, right? " groomed eyebrows raising with a half grin. she believed in giving flowers when it's due. he worked this hard and probably spent most of his years dealing with divas or just non pleasant people in general. yasmin almost didn't want him to leave but sooner or later they would have to part. he provides wisdom that she understood perfectly for once. " oh! uh, how does later sound, around 7 ? i hope it gives everyone time and i kind of need a shower. " scrunching her nose while motioning to the design of the costume. plus, she wanted to look presentable in front of everyone. " see ya! " she raised her hand to wave towards the director as he left. she stood there for a second before both of her hands were over her face, a muffled excited shriek leaving from her.

she spent the rest of her day ordering food trucks and drinks for the staff tomorrow and a reservation for the large cast. thanks with the help of her assistant and giving them the day off after. there were a few early birds to the diner and yasmin figured the best way to start it was having drinks and food on her dime. which she didn't mind. the group started to expand in the room she reserved but her eyes kept scanning for a familiar man. she was still on her first glass of wine and didn't order yet. when she spotted the familiar green eyes, she sat up in her chair and quickly adjusted her hair. " hey! "

He let out a chuckle, rubbing the back of his neck with a sheepish expression on his face. He was used to working with people who were fans of his work, if only because he'd been doing this for so long now. But something about knowing that she admired him made him feel something he couldn't place. "You know in this business, flattery will get you everywhere," he told her with a grin. Their conversation had been so successful that he almost didn't want to leave, but it wasn't like they needed to stop their discussions. In truth, he was already thinking about other ways he could help her become better in the industry. He wanted to see her succeed. "Yes, ma'am. I've closed the set for the day so we can pick up tomorrow. But I'll be waiting outside if you still want to take the team out like you said." A nod of his head before he slipped out of the trailer.

she felt that she forgot to breathe in the beginning. the way she diffused the tension with an open mind and listening to a figure that's familiar in the industry, it was with ease. simple and the most mature way possible. yasmin was far from a diva as her heart was always on her sleeve, it was her brand to spread love and promote positivity. " i feel like this is what we needed? just a conversation without our teams. it's kind of hard to talk to someone you admire when there's other people around. " the actress admitted with a grimace and a slight flushed face. " i would love a new start. you'll see i'm full of surprises. good ones, i swear! "

This was not the first time he'd had to give criticism to a cast member but he had to admit that she took it far better than most. She didn't get upset or take offense, instead it seemed as though she really took in what he'd said. Hopefully that would mean she would be able to use what he'd told her and adjust her performance accordingly. "That very well could be. Just...try to tap into that more fierce side of you. I know you've got it in you," he encouraged with a soft smile, pleased that the conversation had gone so well. At least he hadn't had to fire her, that was the opposite of what he wanted. "I think that sounds like a great idea. I would be honored to join. A fresh start, what do you think?"

booking a section in a high end hollywood restaurant was difficult at first, the first options was limited but it was a miracle that one had availability for a large group. from there it was smooth sailing. she was hands on for most of it as it was her nature to be part of putting it together and helping the people she hired in general. might as well treat them too. peaking up at wesley from her glass of wine as she took a sip to initially ease her nerves, " i'm full of surprises. " she spoke after swallowing her mouthful. wiggling a brow while her eyes looked over the cheery faces of her co-stars. making a proud smile appear. bringing her attention back to the man when he spoke, her lips going in a tight line for a second. " i hope so. i still feel pretty bad, even if they're smiling. " casting her gaze down to the glass in her hand. " am i being too hard on myself? "

Her assistant had been the one to tell him what her plan had been. Wesley heard the buzzing around the set from the other members of the cast, some excited for the idea and some worried that this was just for show and she would continue to be difficult to work with. Wesley knew better now that he'd actually sat down and had a conversation with her. He had to admit that he was pleased with the way things had worked out and was already intending on offering more help during the filming. It was clear she was new to all of this, it was only fair that he offer his advice. He'd changed into a suit, arriving before most of the crowd. His eyes met hers almost instantly and he couldn't help but smile, making his way over and sitting beside her. "I have to say I'm impressed with how fast you set this all up," he said, reaching for a glass of wine a passing waiter had offered. "If you're intending on making everyone fall in love with you, this is a good start."

criticism never registered as something negative in her mind. she took them as suggestions even if some might have been a bit harsh. she's always had a positive perspective, so the behavior she displayed was out of character for her. yasmin sat in silence as she centered her attention to his words. " i get what you mean. i guess i'm a bit more on the softer side, so i think that's where i feel disconnected. " confessing it did make her feel better, but she still still felt guilty about her cringe actions. none of it intentional but it still wasn't fair for those that dealt with her." i can treat the staff to food trucks or stalls, and the cast to dinner! . . . and maybe, " she trailed. sitting up straight with a vibrant grin, " if you're not busy you can join, mr.hawkins ? " raising her brows with a slight tilt of her head.

He’d dealt with a lot of divas in his career. Many stars took criticism horribly, deciding that they were above it and would continue to act however they wanted. He had to admit that he was pleased that she was so willing to take his notes on her performance. Wesley let out a soft sigh as he thought about her question, taking a seat in a chair across from where she was. "You've got the same kind of passion. This character has this... fire in her that drives her actions," he began to explain. "You've got to hone in on that, otherwise you're not going to capture her independence or drive." His eyes watched her movements, looking up at her, he gave her a small smile. "I am willing to overlook it as long as things improve. You really are talented and I hope we can find some way to... put this behind us."
