Verse me, headcanon me - avalance

VERSE ME   :      Send this and I will give you a random verse idea or two that could happen between our characters!

Sci-Fi AU - Set in your classic sci-fi universe, where humans have been actively exploring the galaxy with their own fleet and meeting other lifeforms. Sara Lance has been part of a shadow organisation, half way between a mercenary army and a sect, since she had barely become a legal adult. After a job gone wrong, she is forced to take the fall and ends up in the ends of the government. Instead of being sentenced to lifetime imprisonment, however, she is offered a deal: use the talents she has developed to take care of tasks and dirty work that can’t be resolved on the official records. And thus, she ends up on a ship that shouldn’t exist, patrolling the furthest corners of the Earthen government’s territory and beyond, captain of a small group of people who, like her, have mistakes, crimes and sins to pay for. With them also travels a marshal, with the task of keeping the odd crew under strict watch and report any infraction or disobedience. Ava Sharpe, a genetically engineered living being, half way between man and machine. Useless to say, the two women can’t stand each other at first. To Ava, Sara is a rogue and a killer, rebellious to a fault and incapable of following any sort of order unless it benefits here. As for Sara, she sees Ava as a nuisance, a reminder that her freedom is only a mere illusion, that she is the slave of a government that’s shiny and just only on the surface. With the passing of time and many shared misadventures, however, the two are both forced to witness sides of each other they hadn’t believed existed. Similarities, common sufferance, shared ideals that open brand new spaces in their relationship for them to explore...and who knows, they might find out that the one thing that could fill the void inside their chest had been standing next to them all along.

HEADCANON ME      :     Send this and I will give you a few headcanons regarding our characters and their connection or verses that we have together.

Sara has never thought of herself as the marriage type before meeting Ava. While she has often toyed, more or less consciously, with the idea of finding someone who could be a permanent fixture in her life, she has never truly believed in it. From where she stands, her life it dangerous, unpredictable and her past has just reinforced her belief that the people around her will inevitably suffer or leave. Her life with the Legends and all the hardships her relationship with Ava has faced and won, though, have ultimately proved her wrong, to the point that she has found herself thinking that, maybe, reaching out fo that particular kind of happiness is worth the risk.

While Sara is and will always be the Captain, which means that, if she’s available, she’s the one to lead the Legends in the more important or dangerous mission, for everything else she and Ava either divide the work or take turns. In particular, when it comes to choose whom to put in charge for a job neither of them want to do, they play three, usually intense rounds of poker, and the loser ends up having to babysit the team while the other can take care of her own personal things and relax.

Sara still has the furry slippers (the same one John has made fun of) from when she and Ava still had an apartment. They are old and worn from use, but she treasure them. That part of their life might be over, since they have moved permanently on the Waverider, but she keeps them as a memento of everything they have gone through together and also as a testimony that she has ultimately made the right choice betting on their relationship back then.

5 things my muse likes about yours || Accepting !

Ava’s hair: Even if they have a similar shade of blond, Sara likes Ava’s hair much more than her own. It’s softer to the touch, smoother and less inclined to form knots. Moreover, it holds the scent of whatever shampoo or perfume her girlfriend chooses to use and Sara loves brushing Ava’s hair at night, taking her time with it, just so that she can breathe in the scent that rises from it while enjoying a moment of quiet intimacy.

Ava’s strength: This is something they have often argued about, but Sara thinks that Ava is one of the strongest people she has ever met, no matter what her girlfriend might say or believe. For how the Captain sees it, she has been able to go through many hardships, starting with her finding out the truth about her past, and yet she has been able to overcome them all and rebuilding herself. It’s all still a work in progress, but the fact that Ava is willing to keep fighting for it is very much a proof of her strength in Sara’s eyes.

Safety: Ava is Sara’s safe place, just as she tries to be Ava’s. It’s not just a matter of having someone to watch her back, because she knows that anyone on the team can and will do that. It’s about having a space where she can drop her guard and defenses and be vulnerable when she needs to be. It’s about being fully accepted, no matter her mood or her moments of fragility. For someone who has spent most of her life having to stay guarded and close off, hiding her weaknesses, having someone who can take that burden off her for a while is a little miracle.

Ava’s humour: Her girlfriend is hardly the funniest person on the team. Often her puns are a bit forced (when they aren’t straight our bad) and she mostly goes for sarcasm instead of actual jokes. However, Sara loves it, even when Ava fails to make her laugh and make her cringe instead. She finds it adorable and just loves seeing her girlfriend relaxing. That alone makes bearing through all the bad puns in the world worth it.

The fact that Ava is good at fighting: Sara has always had a soft spot for women who can handle themselves. Most of her lovers fit that profile and Ava is no exception. She might not look it at a first glance, but Sara knows better and finds the fact that her girlfriend can keep up with her in a fight and even manage to pin her against a wall or a floor extremely hot.

A   :   AFFECTION.   how does your muse show affection?

Sara expresses her affection in several ways, both verbally and through actions. She never hesitates to straight out tell someone that she loves them and she also uses physical touch to convey it a lot. Moreover, she makes sure to spend quality times with the people she cares about and to help them out at the best of her possibilities when it’s needed.

V   :   VALENTINE.   how does your muse feel about valentine’s day?

Sara enjoys Valentine’s. She isn’t the kind of person to go crazy about it, but it’s always a good excuse to spend time, have some fun and make memories with her current partner. She likes planning a fun date out, be it a meal to some restaurant where they make “adventurous” cuisine, or a trip to the seaside or to some kind of theme park. She never fails to buy her date chocolates and flowers either.

E   :   EMBRACE.   does your muse like hugs? what are their hugs like?

Sara loves hugs. They are the best way for her to greet her loved ones and be greeted by them. She can be a very affectionate person and she doesn’t shy away from showing it, as long as the other person is comfortable with physical contact. Her hugs are usually long and tight and she usually likes to bury her face in the other person’s hair and to end it with a kiss on the cheek.

L   :   LOVE.   who does your muse love?

Sara doesn’t get attached too often, but when she does, she loves deeply, whether the person is family, a friend or a romantic partner. First and foremost, the one person in her heart is Laurel and she will always love her, no matter how many years have passed from her death. Then there are her parents, her friends from Star City, her team (both past and present members, also including Gideon). Romantically speaking, she has loved a few people during the years. Oliver, even if the platonic affection she develops from him later on is stronger than the attraction she had for him when they were younger. Nyssa, who’s been the very first true love of her life. And of course her current girlfriend, who’s the one woman she intends to keep forevermore, if Ava will allow it.

O   :   ODE.   does your muse have a way with words?

She might not be a perfect silver tongue, but Sara can definitely be a smooth talker. She’s very capable of giving great pep talks. She’s good at comforting and offering the right kind of advice when needed. She always has a quit to throw back during a friendly banter and a cutting comment to use when facing an enemy. And, of course, she’s one hell of a flirt.

N   :   NAUGHTY.   what is your muse like in bed?

Sara has always liked a bit of spice in bed. She’s very open-minded when it comes to try new things and there are very few ideas she’d pass without even trying them at least once. She also loves to indulge in foreplay, even when it doesn’t lead to actual sex. It’s all part of building intimacy and that’s something she values both in relationships and in casual but long-term flings. Something she likes to do for her partners is sporting sexy lingerie on special occasions or gifting it to them as a side present on birthdays.

C   :   CHOCOLATE.   does your muse like chocolate? which one is their favourite?

Sara adores chocolate. You could say that she has a very selective sweet tooth and chocolate, dark one to be more precise, definitely fits into the list of sweets she happily devours. Her favourites are spicy dark chocolate and orange-flavoured dark chocolate.

Sara has a lot of fun giving people nicknames, even if she doesn’t always openly use them. For the most, they are how she addressed her closest friends in her thoughts. Pet names for her current lover / partner are no exception, but in this case she uses them to address the person pretty often. They are a way for her to express affection.
