Some post-canon Greed survives AU headcanons/speculations:

With the power of alkahestry, Greed and Ling do get separated. However, they can only do this by essentially cloning Ling and having Greed occupy the artificial body. So Greed is stuck as a doppelganger of Ling but does try to differentiate himself.

Sometimes Greed is intentionally a double of Ling to protect him and cause mischief, or to actually stand in when Ling wants to run off to Amestris without notifying anyone else.

Greed and Ling learn how to imitate each other for maximum shenanigans.

Greed and Ling are still connected metaphysically and can even sense each other’s presence and have a good sense of each other’s thoughts and feelings at the moment. As a result, if Greed touches Ling, he can extend his Ultimate Shield to him and even can heal Ling from fatal damage. He has saved Ling from many assassination attempts this way.

Some people call Greed a taotie—a creature that represents greed and gluttony.

Over time Greed builds up a reputation and legend around himself. People begin telling stories about him, some true, some false, some exaggerated. Greed gradually is seen as some kind of trickster spirit in Xing and even beyond. Over centuries people begin setting up shrines and giving him offerings. Of course, he is very happy to take them, and people get caught off guard when this trickster minor deity shows up from the roof, in the flesh, and eats the offerings right in front of them with the biggest shit-eating grin on his face and then gives some words of wisdom. Then vanishes without a trace in the blink of an eye.

as much as gojo seems to enjoy lauding his unrivaled strength and stating his superiority over everyone, there's profound loneliness that comes with it.

nobody chooses the circumstances that they're born under, and on the surface, it would appear that gojo had been dealt a luxurious hand, being of a prestigious clan that's one of the big three families in jujutsu sorcery history. moreover, he possesses incredible gifts that are rare to have by themselves, and especially so simultaneously: the six eyes and the limitless technique. this strength of his goes way beyond just being 'the strongest sorcerer'. while that is accurate, it doesn't quite encompass what he is truly capable of to the fullest extent; it actually isn't an exaggeration to say that he could take over the entire world for purely selfish reasons if he ever wishes to do so.

but he remains loyal to the cause of protecting humanity, preventing ordinary people from falling prey to curses, because, believe it or not, there is some humanity within him, enough to be able to recognize that human life is precious in itself. now, he may seem to have contempt for the "weak", but there's a difference between him calling his allies weak versus and him calling a cursed entity weak. when he calls an ally weak, it really just means that he feels it's his obligation to protect them and/or help hone their skills. when he calls a cursed spirit, cursed user, etc., weak, it means that he believes he can kill them easily.

so, is this to say his "arrogance" is a facade? no. in fact, gojo doesn't regard his behavior as "arrogant". what he believes he's doing is merely stating the obvious, that he is indeed better than everybody else when it comes to strength and there's simply no denying this. humility is an utterly foreign concept to him because he sees no point in downplaying who he is or what he's got. and his behavior is reinforced by how others speak of him, view him and treat him. others only fear him, envy him or put him on a pedestal ⸺ different sentiments, but all because of the same thing: his strength. ever since he was born, all he's been made out to be is his strength, nothing more than the ultimate, surefire, reliable weapon in absolutely dire situations, the only one who has the ability to alter the balance of the world. and since this has always been the case, he is thus in the habit of reducing people to their strength (or lack thereof), hence his liberal use of the word "weak".

when he realized and declared "i alone am the honored one", that was the end of his friendship with geto. he felt a special bond with geto because geto was the only one who could relate to him, but he ended up surpassing his best friend. gojo, of course, relished in elevating to new heights, but this entailed being put into a league of his own and thus his equal was no longer his equal. unfortunately, geto became just like everybody else, among those who cannot understand him. at the very least, he could have remained an ally, but geto decided to transition to the opposing side, which made it all the more devastating for gojo.

he's aware that just about no one likes him, whether that's due to jealousy or resentment regarding his strength and familial roots, aversion towards his teaching methods, that he comes across as "arrogant or "tactless" ⸺ whatever the reason is, there is distance between him and everyone. even if someone has the utmost respect for him or finds him attractive, that is neither intimate nor personal in the way that liking or loving him is. he might not even think it's possible for anyone to like or love him because no one can ever "get" him. still, his loneliness rarely bothers him. he accepts his life and reality for what it is, he accepts who he is, that he's just light years away from everyone and there's no changing that. even if he does have a moment when he wonders what it's like to be close to someone and feels that innate human need for connection, it passes, just like all moments.

i like wearing indie perfume oils so here's what i think shadow would be as a perfume for fun. based only off of vibes as i am not a perfumer myself so hell if i know if these would actually go together.

gunpowder, motor oil, leather, ozone, cherry blossom, dead leaves, dragon's blood

the idea of it is for the main notes to provide a mostly grounded and atmospheric scent that invokes imagery of a machine or a dead barracks or something. with a hint of weird greenery from the dead leaves. they have to be dead though because i want the greenery to feel more like it suggests a bitter reality

the cherry blossom and dragon's blood note i'm envisioning would be stronger in the opening of the scent; the cherry blossom to liven up and offer a more fruity and wearable element to the otherwise harsher and grittier notes of the perfume and the dragon's blood to give just a bit of an incense-y smokiness to the rest of the body of the perfume...

i have a perfume for johnny silverhand that also has gunpowder + leather + cherry blossom in it and i feel like it could work pretty well for shadow but it has tequila and ocean notes in it that makes it feel more "fuck it we ball" before it eventually gets grounded by the other notes in it. shadow is a much more somber character than johnny obviously. but i feel like it makes sense that that perfume would be a good basis for the one i have in my brain for shadow considering they're both keanu characters as of now fdsjhfskjdhfd

quite often does loki feel the phantom hold of thanos' hands gripping their neck, the slow loss of their breathing, the impending crack-snap-pop and the life draining from them. it catches them off guard every time, they quite literally have to pause to make sure that they're still alive otherwise a panic attack will soon follow. it's a constant occurence that they have to deal with but often hide as much as possible from others, but especially thor. they have not, will most likely not and feel as if they cannot tell anyone about it. suffering in silence is what they do best, of course.

Okay hear me out, I had a dream ( yes, I'm thinking of her Hazbin/Helluva verses again ) because I always like to think she reigns from Greed, that in a state of incredible anger and their people seeming to have ties to insects ( because Mammon turns into this insectoid being ) that Pomni would shift, at least her face as a warning, her mouth would extend and open up like a praying mantis. Because I haven't been able to stop thinking about it and am not sure about actually adopting or not.

EXTERMINATIONS AND WHY LUCIFER WAS THE CAUSE OF THEM OCCURING 👑:

Let's start from the beginning all the way back when Lucifer was God's favorite angel in Heaven, curated around the image of what God, himself, deemed as perfect, the example for all seraphim kind. This is strictly based off my own perception, headcanons and research diving into the many religions that depict Lucifer along with Viv's vision she's created into the show.

God is the all seeing eye; He can see past, present and future. If we use this consensus and connect it to Lucifer, who I have referred to as Samael based on some scriptures, religions or TV shows prior to his fall and banishment. God always knew of his path down to Sin. He knew very well and created Samael as an example, a scapegoat, and put him purposefully in a position for that fate to happen. Give him the responsibility of being the keeper to foresee life in Eden and connect with the creations he made, teach them and have Samael be the spokesperson for God.

Even if God knew what was to befall onto Samuel, this was all a hunting grounds, a test to see if his willpower and faith in God would counteract the fate he foresaw for his favorite angel. And his answer was set in stone. Before I get myself off track, Samael was known in Heaven as a prince, though his status often made him feel like a pariah, especially after his exposure to the first humans in Eden. He didn't see himself As Above, So Below them. His interactions with Adam, Lilith and Eve started to make him question not only how Heaven and God operated - but why. Samael wanted to make a difference, him falling for Lilith was something he, himself, didn't foresee but her incredible grasp in knowledge pushed him further to question; to want to make a difference.

However, in the eyes of God, it was seen as a betrayal of trust; especially after Samael took it upon himself to offer the one forbidden thing in Eden: The Tree of Knowledge, where the sacred fruit that Samael even warned the beings in Eden about, was now offering to them. The chance of Free Will. Although in some depictions, Samael offered the fruit to Eve first, I'm going off Viv's vision that he offered it to Lilith first. Who, with Lilith's help, offered it also to Eve. Who then offered it to the wary one out of the bunch, Adam.

We all know what happens from here. God used Samael as an example and banished both Lilith and Samael to Hell, a place only deserving of those ridden with Sin. Here, is where Lucifer was born, dropping his Angelic dead name for a more suited title for him. This is also where those who believed in Lucifer's preachings about Heaven and God, rightfully now known as the Sins of Hell, fought back against his ruling and also banished those who believe in Samael, believing his actions in Eden spilled Sin into Heaven and tainted some of Heaven's highest angels and seraphims.

HOW EXTERMINATIONS ARE CONNECTED TO THE MORNINGSTAR FAMILY:

As Lucifer once tried to do in Heaven, he tried to do in Hell. Just like in "More Than Anything", Lucifer saw himself in his daughter; the person he used to be. In the early stages of Hell, Lucifer also tried his own way of redeeming sinners, to prove to himself, and to God, that his efforts previously in Heaven weren't in vain. That his efforts in allowing beings to have Free Will weren't all for naught. And truthfully, they weren't! But God is a bastard and never allowed Lucifer to see the good that came of allowing being to have Free Will, only allowing him to see the bad. Because he was being punished. Being the King of Hell, losing his status and connection with those he once was close to. As a reminder of his Sins.

Again, his efforts were fruitless, he was crushed down yet again and he no longer was graced with the word of God's voice; and this was the beginning of spiral into depression, his loss of self, and his aspirations. He didn't care about Hell; but Lilith thrived. She took over what we see Hell to become.

Now, let's fast forward. Though Lilith controlled a lot of the reigns in Hell, Lucifer's word as King cemented most of the decisions finalized. Even though he didn't care. Sinners were a constant reminder of his failures, and they were overpopulating FAST. Now, Sera, one of the seraphims that never spoke against God regarding Lucifer's actions, was the closest he'd get to Him. And she came with a proposal. EXTERMINATIONS. Whether it'd been God's idea, Lucifer would never truly know. He didn't care. God cursed and chained him to forever live in his regrets for his actions against Him.

Lucifer heavily considered the deal but not without his own stipulations: his family and him were not to be fucked with during this time, because he cared deeply for the Sins who threw everything away in the name of Lucifer, they were not to be affected with either - and those with the highest status just below royalty and Sins had protection as well; but why is that? Why would Lucifer care in any vicinity for sinners like Overlords to have protection? The answer was simple: Lilith. If anything, the people of Hell were her people and not his, so he tried to meet in the middle of lowering the numbers in Hell without stepping on any toes.

The problem was, he did this without letting anybody know. He thought it'd be best to keep it under wraps and let the sinners believe that the exterminations were Heaven's idea. And I think Lilith learning on her own of the devastating decisions Lucifer made behind her back without her knowledge is what caused her to leave him.

His depression grew worse, to the point he came to terms with adopting what God always deemed him to be: The Sin of Pride. He wore his mask happily, wanting every inch of the Pentagram to know him as someone you DON'T want to fuck with, someone not readily available to bestow his honor upon; his way of coping with his chains to Hell. He started to hyper fixate and focus on what he once used to be, an angel, with incredible powers but used it for the sake of keeping himself sane. Ducks were of great importance to him especially after Lilith's disappearance because it was the only thing he had left that reminded him of her, from their past back in Eden.

Now, after all of this, having both the King and Queen of Hell absent, how is Hell still operating? Lucifer did the bare minimum to sate the Sins and the citizens of Hell. He was never here, there, or the other unless he absolutely NEEDED to be. His hatred for sinners grew deep, and his ego of his previous status kept him above water mentality, if barely. Lilith had Hell operating to the point where the people in every ring of Hell had people within pretty much managing the ring themselves: the Sins, the Overlords. Think of it like a Mafia claiming territory and ruling over their respective spaces.

MY BRAIN IS STARTING TO FRY AND I FEEL LIKE,,, I MISSED A LOT OF KEY POINTS AND THINGS THAT WOULD MAKE SENSE BUT. TADAAAA. MAYBE I'LL TRY REFINING THIS ONE DAY.

i keep thinking about cassian's Templar branding. that it's so close to being in plain sight and yet always buried underneath layers. that he doesn't utter a single breath about it—and the only time he will is if someone else sees it and asks about it. the brand is a real, tangible point of shame for him. he hates it. he can't heal it by magical means. it's a stain upon his body that will never go away.

i also think about how he'll never let anyone associated with the chantry ever touch it. alistair, leliana, cullen, mother giselle—you name it. while he does want to have a good relationship with them, there will always be a seed deep down inside of him that is very distrustful and very weary of anyone who follows the chantry. it's a deeply embedded prejudice that stems from even before the circle, but especially during. us vs them. weaponization of religion. undermining mages, making them out already as abominations. keeping them chained and watched.

if he does allow someone to touch it then it is clear that he trusts you very deeply.
