he   was   frustrated,   wanted   to   know   what   the   hell   was   going   on   with   her.   he'd   never   seen   her   act   this   way   before   and   it   raised   some   concerns   for   spencer.   "   really   ?   you   think   i'm   gonna   just   forget   about   it   'cause   you   told   me   to   ?   you   know   me   better   than   that.   i'm   not   letting   this   go,   arizona.   "   he   was   stubborn,   much   too   stubborn   to   just   drop   a   conversation   because   someone   told   him   to.   he   had   half   a   mind   to   confiscate   the   bottle   from   her   grasp,   but   he   waited   on   it.   he   wouldn't   hesitate   to   do   it   if   she   kept   leaving   him   feeling   concerned   for   her   well   being.   "   what's   so   wrong   with   me   having   a   good   time   for   once   ?   i   don't   think   that's   a   crime,   arizona.   don't   do   that   !   spending   time   with   one   another   is   a   two   way   street.   you   could've   come   up   to   me   too.   you   know   i'd   drop   anything   for   you.   ——   what   are   you   talking   about   ?   how   are   you   planning   on   getting   home   ?   is   someone   who   hasn't   been   drinking   going   to   give   you   a   ride   ?   "   there   was   no   way   in   hell   he'd   let   her   leave   with   anyone   he   didn't   trust   just   because   she   was   in   a   mood.

she   can’t   say   anything   back   ,   she   doesn’t   know   how   to   explain   the   way   she   feels   about   him   and   she   doesn’t   know   either   if   that’s   something   she   even   wants   to   do   right   now   .   why   should   she   confess   when   she   just   saw   him   all   over   another   girl   ?   she   wasn’t   one   to   willingly   put   herself   in   embarrassing   situations   .   “   just   forget   about   it   ,   will   you   ?   ”   she   says   ,   annoyed   .   bringing   the   bottle   of   wine   to   her   lips   once   more   .   “   we   both   know   this   isn’t   like   you   ,   spencer   ,   you   were   practically   throwing   yourself   all   over   her   .   and   you   haven’t   spent   a   moment   with   me   all   night   ,   it’s   like   i’m   not   even   here   .   but   don’t   worry   ,   i’m   heading   home   soon   .   i   can’t   fucking   stand   this   party   anymore   .   ”

THE EMOTIONLESS response she'd provided him with cut him deeply. spencer was having a difficult time processing the fact that she was capable of being so unfeeling towards him. he shook his head in disbelief, a sigh escaping his lips. "i ... i just don't understand. what changed so quickly? i thought we had something special, faye."

HER EYES were hard as she stared at him, giving a terse nod. "just like that." it was cruel and heartless. but she doesn't want him to cling on to some misguided hope that they would get back together. because they can't. he deserved someone who could commit to him, and that's just not her. "i don't feel anything for you anymore, spencer."

he   was   concerned   about   her,   wondered   if   he   needed   to   worry   about   getting   her   home   safely.   her   reaction   wasn't   something   that   he'd   been   prepared   for,   brows   furrowing   in   confusion.   he   didn't   feel   like   he   needed   to   justify   himself   to   her,   not   when   he   was   trying   to   help   himself   get   over   her.   he   was   convinced   he   didn't   stand   a   chance,   and   he   didn't   want   to   be   miserable,   wishing   she   would   just   notice   how   he   felt   about   her.   "   what   don't   i   know   then,   arizona   ?   tell   me.   "   he   scoffed   at   her   words,   shaking   his   head   before   folding   his   arms   across   his   chest.   "   what   is   your   problem   ?   you   never   used   to   care   when   you   saw   me   kissing   some   random   girl.   what's   wrong   with   it   now   ?   i'm   not   freaking   out   on   you   if   you   kiss   guys   who   aren't   even   good   enough   to   be   seen   with   you.   "

she’s   starting   to   lose   control   of   herself   with   all   the   alcohol   in   her   system   ,   so   she   plops   down   on   the   nearest   couch   .   she   scoffs   when   he   asks   her   what’s   wrong   ,   as   if   he   wasn’t   the   reason   for   her   drinking   .   “   you   think   you   know   me   so   well   ,   spencer   ,   but   you   don’t   know   anything   .   why   don’t   you   just   go   back   to   the   party   and   keep   making   out   with   more   girls   ?   ”

"   you   tryin'   to   convince   me   or   yourself   of   that   one,   arizona   ?   'cause   whatever   you're   selling   .   .   .   i'm   not   buying.   you   might   be   able   to   fool   a   lot   of   people   around   here,   but   you   can't   fool   me.   spill   it.   what's   going   on   ?   "

HER WORDS stung. how was it so simple for her to move on from him when he'd spent night after night missing her and resisting the urge to call her? he shook his head in disbelief, a scoff escaping the blonde's lips. "just like that? you let go of everything you've ever felt for me?"

"YES, IT really was that simple for me." as cruel as that was, faye had never been the type to settle down. she was able to move on... for the most part. "well you need to figure it out. because i've moved on, spencer. i've moved on from us; from the relationship we had."
