WHICH MEANS IT’S ABRUMPT MINI META TIME!   

alright, so. WILLIAM & THOMAS MAXIMOFF, the twins WANDA MAXIMOFF, created, birthed, and were later killed and whose existences were erased completely? those children were cells in the universe; they could be seen and observed by the cosmic entity that is the UNIVERSE. the circumstances of their making may not be completely natural   (  as in a course of events isn’t a natural progression  )   but they were born and grew, and then died. 

HOWEVER, billy kaplan & tommy shepherd? they’re not natural beings, in that aspect. especially billy, considering canon material has never really delved into who and what tommy exactly is   (  except for crumbs here and there ),   but i will consider Tommy as the other half of Billy’s soul, and therefore they have the same hold over the time-space continuum and reality   (  something @machimoff​ agrees upon  ),   just manifested differently ;     Billy describes Tommy's powers with:

as i perceive it, when the original aspects were killed, the twins returned in time to protect their essences and survive mephisto’s attack. to ensure that, william’s soul fused with the infinite entity that is THE DEMIURGE. he is an jar, so to say, a cocoon. but an infinitesimal fraction of infinity is still INFINITY.   billy is not a vessel, he is the dyad of the universe   (  he and tommy do form a dyad of the universe, actually, seen that they share the same soul, with wanda maximoff being the mother, the @nexusbeing​: the chaos from which all is born  ).

in the end, it’s easier to infer that Eternity is an aspect of Billy, a personification of one of the demiurge's creations   (  the Universe, the Multiverse  )   so the cosmos can also enjoy what is to be alive: which is the demiurge's utter satisfaction.  he created the PHOENIX FORCE for a similar reason. Life and Fire Incarnate. i see the demiurge neither as completely benevloent or malevolent, simply cyclical in creation: there is death in birth and birth in death, but this is beside the point. 

Suffices to say here that Billy and Tommy aren't visible or perceived by even the eldest of marvel’s cosmic beings. The twins are literally rifts in the multiverse, for their creation didn’t happen in this or any veil of reality.

you are patroclus, from the iliad by homer, doomed by fate to be stuck in a love story that has no place on the battlefield. although you always have the best intentions, you have to realize you cannot save everyone. your unwavering loyalty means you often lose yourself in the process of putting others first. take a deep breath, remember who you are, and that you are deserving of the same love you try to put out. you are kind, you are strong, and you give and you give but it is never enough to protect those you love. in the end, it's not even enough to protect yourself.

@onlyrogue: does he think he's a mutant? did he consider that at some point? how do those kinds of identity questions effect him?

as far as I am aware, there has been no canonical mention of billy securing himself as a mutant, other than referring to himself and his twin brother as the SONS OF THE SCARLET WITCH. now, stricto sensu, his powers don't come from any mutation and therefore, he could not be called a mutant. however, seeing that the term MUTANT is also a in world identity term, used for those who are born with special abilities, whether or not derived from biological differences in this or that gene? then yes, billy does consider himself a mutant, and has done so since before he discovered his relationship to the HOUSE OF M. as far as he knew, back then, he was a mutant with mystical powers, not much different than others, such as ILLYANA RASPUTINA or even the scarlet witch herself. and now that he knows his heritage, he also adopts it as a political statement. along with being a MUTANT, also came the fact he is ROMANI. his brown skin has always raised questions  ( not that his adoption has ever been a secret ),  seen that Billy's family is a SUBURBAN WHITE JEWISH FAMILY. his roma identity is not as much of a shock as it is an answer, and also an opportunity to learn more about himself and his heritage. not that this is anything new to billy. identity labels are political statements, as are the lack of thereof. they also help in the sense of kin. billy is not only jewish and gay, but he's also trans, he's a brown roma. He's a mutant. He's autistic. He’s a WITCH  ---  not a wizard, sorcerer, or warlock  ---  these form a sense of who is WILLIAM KAPLAN to the eyes of others, and aid him in understanding himself.

you hold your love in your heart. love is intrinsic, inevitable, love is the beating core of everything; love is also hard to talk about. your love comes out with more rareness, mostly shows up for the big things in a big way- this doesn't mean it doesn't beat for the small stuff, you feel it all, in fact you feel it more intensely than most which is why it's so hard to get out. you hold your love inside you because it matters, it might be the only thing that does.
