i... honestly don't blame alyssa for joining salvador. edward had manipulated her trust & eagerness to learn in the first season and vera repeatedly lied to her in the second, even when the thing she was lying about could have fixed alyssa's magic. not to mention she called alyssa broken & banned her from the temple instead of helping her work through it. alyssa has no trust in those around her, and salvador saw that as a way in. i'm not completely absolving her, but i can absolutely see why she went down that road and i feel like i would have probably done the same if a seemingly safe space that was going to accept me for all that i am was put on my lap.

according to the order's creator, the idea for s3 was going to be that jack succeeded in bringing alyssa back from the dead with the spell book vera had given him. the creator, however, said that alyssa would return wrong. she's not quite herself because death still has a firm grip on her. this is then where my idea of the lux hide comes into play. after months of searching for answers and following rumours, the knights chase the idea that being a host could sever that grip death has. it's an absolute shot in the dark but they take it anyway, and after months of back and forth they eventually find the hide. so, not only does alyssa have to deal with the fact that she doesn't feel right - it's like how she felt with broken magic but 1000% worse - she also has to get used to the idea of co-existing with a creature that should want her dead. lbr, midnight would probably try and kill her again, but with lux now there to defend her he finds this effort fruitless... despite her yearning for otherwise.

my original canon divergency was that midnight was somehow bonded to alyssa in order to save her from death ( this was mostly born from the fact i couldn’t stand canon gabrielle & refused to accept she would become a knight oops ) but i think i’m going to go with my second idea in that she is bonded to an original hide that they would have spent some time researching & searching for. the hide is called lucciola / lux. i can’t remember the exact reasoning why i chose that name since i’m not logged into my order blog, but i think it was mostly bc it sounded cool.

lux is a more accepting hide, almost pacifist in nature so it was almost a guarantee that she wouldn’t kill alyssa when they became one. that’s not to say that lux approved bc she absolutely did not, but mostly she was glad that she finally had a host after being lost for so long. they eventually learn to co-exist and, while a knight isn’t exactly best pleased to be bonded with a blue rose, they eventually manage it; lux mostly bc she gets to be free again, and alyssa bc she’d die without lux.
