the city looks beautiful up here: in the way a grotesque paining depicting decay would look beautiful. you appreciate it for what it is, but the longer you look the heavier your muscles feel ( maybe that's why you're glued to the edge of the roof... maybe that's why you sit in your suit with nothing motivating you to move ). the ruin of the city feels akin to something inside, and you see in the darkness like this: the ruin that has physically come upon those who needed it least. you, upset because of the life you've chose, they, dying at the hands of people who sit on the throne of the world they've created.

listening to her story you can't help but smile, it feels wrong on your face... out of place with the suit that is made to fit your curves and your curves only, but you love the way she talks ( and while jealousy seems to seep in, it feels different than normal... a kind intermixed with a happiness for someone else: it's a novel feeling, but one you cherish ). " that's... that's awesome. i had no idea that babies could snore... i thought they just cried. " you have never been one to be surrounded by babies, by children in the slightest: even from a young age, you found yourself surrounded by nannies who came to keep you and henry away from the parties... the adults themselves intermingling and whispering things you didn't quite understand... adults at every turn. you wish you could say otherwise, but it's tiring to imagine these other worlds you find solace in. the moonlight catches a particularly big ripple in the water, and your eyes are drawn back down. she's right... and when she says it you feel hollow inside, as if your suit is a shell and you are nothing but an infiltrator hanging on for dear life. CHRISTMAS STARTERS for @banschivs

"You know, London suits you. Gotham but sexy."

Celia has done her best for the Fleck's this week. She felt like really only had one chance to persuade them to uproot their life in Gotham and move to London. Or more specifically, move into her home. Nix and the girls anyway. She could give or take Arthur and a baby. She's been good though, really tunnelled that Christmas spirit into being polite, verging on nice. It's all Christmas trees and carol singing. Cee was keen that the whole visit felt like a Christmas film and that included one very special visit for the kids. Hamleys, after closing time. People who say money can't buy happiness just don't know where or how to shop.

The top lights in the store are low, and most of the rows are lit by toys and decorations, which give the store an after-hours feeling. The girls are encouraged to buy the biggest and nosiest of toys, and everything should be within grabbing distance for Ivaylo. "And just think how cute your kids would be with posh English accents."

don't be a cunt. if you're here, you know what i'm about. will update as i think of things, but i'm mostly just here to vibe and that's all.

this blog operates under the combined universes of reeves' and phillips' films, which is to say that every interaction is explored with the assumption that it's based in the real world. furthermore, this bruce's world lacks powers and abilities the way that most batman iterations and dc worlds revolve around. i'm open to writing with characters with supernatural abilities or superpowers, but those interactions will not exist within bruce's primary arc.

i recognize arthur fleck as bruce's canon older brother and true heir to the wayne fortune. joker and the batman are intrinsically connected; one often cannot be found without the other far behind. both are unhealthily obsessive and possessive over each other and any threats to joker OR arthur are subject to the batman AND bruce's ire. do not make the mistake of using joker against the batman; or, if you do, be prepared for the consequences. i'm very attached to abigail and jessie's portrayals and when arthur or his wife nix are referenced in threads or headcanon posts, theirs are the ones i'm talking about.

my bruce is very mentally ill. in the aftermath of the floods and bruce's revelation regarding the very deep well of criminal connections and corruption in relation to the wayne family, he's going through a very huge identity crisis. who is bruce wayne? how does he fit into gotham? can he and the batman fit together? what does this mean for wayne enterprises? these are ongoing struggles for bruce right now.

this interpretation is a younger bruce wayne, a still relatively new batman and detective, and as such the wayne estate is in a sort of limbo right now. this bruce is not the playboy billionaire businessman that most are familiar with. right now he wants nothing to do with his family name and is very much rejecting the idea that he can do much as bruce; he is far more attached to the batman and what that can do for gotham (and himself).

independent sophie dumond of 2019's joker. this blog is part-time, exceedingly picky, and likely slow. exclusive to @jokethur's arthur and our own plot-driven canon we've built with my main muse, nix degraves, found at @banschivs. some influences from 2022's the batman. full pages here are unlikely.

currently sophie is not only a mother, and working in gotham square at gotham national bank, she is also putting herself through night school as a means to become a financial advisor some time in the future. she's aiming for a better life for her and her daughter, and like most in gotham, is pursuing some sense of freedom among the rubble. she is, however, due to her tenuous ties to one arthur fleck in the past, currently being surveilled by the court of owls. further information on the court and their reach can be found here.

number one banned fc is gaga, and essentially any other character from that upcoming musical. in an ideal world i'm allowed to forget it even exists, i don't want to so much as catch a whiff of its scent. for that reason i can be exceedingly picky when it comes to following back dc blogs. sophie, and the universe within which jessie and i have built that she exists, works perfectly for me.

though it's unlikely i'll be working off my dash much, i do ask all those i follow to please tag 'terminal illness cw' or 'cancer cw' where applicable. in turn i'll do my best to tag anything needed.

       SERAPHINA USED TO hold a fair amount of disgust for public gatherings like this, but like most of her emotions, she’s smothered it to a dull apathy. clients and targets alike tended to frequent such gatherings, and thus it is a necessary part of her occupation to thread through the insipid conversations and over-inflated egos as a tigress pushes through algae-slick waters.

        she narrows her gaze. not even the theatrics of a fashion show’s after party are enough to prevent the robotics of her left eye from picking out the facial features of every person over whom her gaze sweeps. name, age, known allies, information of all sorts file through her vision until her target makes itself known. nix fleck, née degraves. one needn’t have dr. pitchiner’s photographic memory to remember a profile like hers.

       the woman’s bony shoulder checks nix’s, not so aggressively as to attract attention, but certainly not gently either. the other will feel a small piece of cardstock slipped into her hand with the gesture, one that reads onyx enterprises in a nondescript black font. if the other is angry at the sudden intrusion into her personal space, there is no time to even open her mouth before the six foot four waif of a woman (courtesy of red-soled louboutins) leans in to murmur, ‘ wait five minutes before you follow, mrs. fleck. ’

        dr. pitchiner makes a casual, elegant path towards a staircase leading up to restrooms on the second floor.

The  youngest  Wayne  brother  is  a  comedy  special  with  his  limbs  folded  into  the  Fleck  couch.    He  doesn’t  know  what  Evelyn  is  creating  on  the  table  in  front  of  him,    but  he  keeps  an  eye  on  the  jar  of  turquoise  glitter  at  her  elbow  as  if  in  anticipation  of  it  toppling  onto  the  floor  between  them.    His  reticent  scoot  forward  wedges  his  knee  beneath  the  ledge  as  a  failsafe  to  impending  disaster.    In  the  event  she  knocks  it  into  his  lap,    his  Drifter  will  suffer  a  glitter  job  for  the  foreseeable  future.

The  television  is  muted,    but  the  screen  flashes  evidence  from  a  crime  scene  probably  unfit  for  a  child.    Bruce  wouldn’t  really  know  though.    He’s  too  busy  splitting  his  attention  between  that  chess  piece  covered  in  dried  viscera in HD  and  his  niece  beside  him  humming  what  he  assumes  is  something  her  father’s  been  humming  lately  as  well.    Or  maybe  it’s  the  Mouse.    He  wouldn’t  really  know  that  either.

❝    Makes  sense.    ❞  Nashton  had  wanted  an  audience.    He’d  hand  -  picked  the  true  intended  viewers,    but  all  of  Gotham  was  witness  to  his  show  and  now  all  of  Gotham  still  recovers  from  its  aftermath.    Recovery  feels  nonexistent  most  days  though.    Bruce  still  feels  the  weight  of  that  disaster  even  without  needing  the  view  of  sunken  downtown.    He  finds  Nix’s  eyes  across  the  room.    ❝    It’s  the  thrill,    right?    Getting  a  message  across.    Do  you  think  this  one’s  about  power?    ❞

“You know I was advised not to enter the city; seems my type are becoming a rare breed in these parts.” By type she means the sort of people who don’t have to work that hard to live that well. She knows people - not exactly friends, connected by fortune and social grouping - that haven’t been heard from for weeks. Others haven’t even been that lucky. 

Celia isn’t her usual chipper self either. The rest of her world is fairing not much better than Gotham. Everything other day she considers scooping up Nix and the girls, Arthur too if Nix insists of being in love with him, and hiding them away somewhere safe. 

The words tumble out because, if there is one thing she is more scared of than this god damn city, it’s Phoenix Fleck née Degraves. “Listen, in that vein, I thought I’d offer-- I mean I know the answer but I just wanted you to know it’s an option, that if you needed me too-- even for a little while-- if you wanted the girls out of the city for a bit. An extended holiday, really.” 

“And before you start on me,” she raises her voice, “I fucking know you would tear people apart for those kids but-- I thought I had a handle on it too, once, and now I visit a grave instead of planning birthday parties. I know your answer NIx, I just wanted you to know it’s an option.”

            *      )      bruce   thomas   wayne   is   highly   influenced   by   the   batman  (2022)   with   taking   inspiration  and  some   lore  from   the   joker  (2019).   since   this   film   is   crime   noir   heavy   so  is  bruce  ,  he   reads  more   like   a  gothic   character  and   is  going through   heavy   PSTD.   my   bruce   sadly   is  not  lifted  from  comics  nor  is  steeped  in   any  other   batman   universe.  along  with   being   reeves   based  i   have  also  incorporated  my  own   headcanons   and  take.  *truly  he  is  an  OC  fnjfdsfgg. bruce  is  31  and   is   6′6   6′8   with   the   boots.  he   enjoys   writing   and   has   natural   talent  in  drawing   and   obviously   criminal   forensics.   he  is  STILL   learning  and  of  course  he  is  OBSESSED   with   technology.   his   ig   borders   genius   but  since  his   tragic  loss  he  is    his  own   worst  enemy.
