My personal favorite story from Walter is the hook man story. Simply because I think it reminds me the most of those really cliche creepy pastas and stuff. As for who enjoys his stories... Wurt and Webber definitely love them, and I feel like it depends on Wendy's mood how she feels about them.

I think the adults range in opinions from "absolutely not" (Wanda and Wolfgang come to mind, with Wolfgang probably getting too scared for his liking and Wanda having more important things to do with her time) to like. Casually entertaining it (Maxwell, Winona, Warly, for example). And then there are those like Wortox who eat that shit up and encourage it SO hard. I think Willow would think the stories are stupid but listen anyways because it's the best way to endear Walter enough to her to get firepit rights.

General headcanons I am going to make into a seperate post for brevity, but I can tag you on that if you'd like or send you the link when I make it?

The shadow thurible quotes suggest it smells different to each character, though most describe it as something relating to fire, or simply a foul odor. Here's my headcanon list of what each survivor smells from the thurible (and also the canon smells)

Aspec label meaning one experiences sexual attraction, but does not wish to pursue it.

Ok, if I must. Well my gut settled on like...27, 28 for Charlie, and I feel like Maxwell is at least 40. It would be funny if they were both the same age, and Charlie is baby-faced while Maxwell has aged really poorly, exacerbated by the stress and smoking. Got some city miles on him. Highly doubt it though, I think Maxwell is coded as older, though not as old as Wickerbottom. I don't know how aging works in the Constant? Queen!Charlie seems older than normal Charlie, but maybe that's just the makeup.

As it happens, I did this age progression a while ago, just to experiment with this:

His twin brother Jack is old enough to have what I assume are 10-12 year-old daughters, so I can't make Maxwell too young, you know? Maybe he's more like 50 by the time we get to "a new reign" and all that.

I think Wigfrid is the same age as Charlie, since they're contemporaries. Winona has been looking for Charlie for 10 years, so she's probably pushing 40. Wilson we all know is 30 and broke af. Woodie is canadian, I think Walter, Wendy, Abigail, and Webber are around the same age, 10-12, while Wurt is the youngest. She acts kind of like a kindergartner to me. Wickerbottom is probably in her 60s. Warly seems like he's 40-something, and I can't really put an age on all the non-human characters (Wortox, Wormwood, WX-78), but I think Willow is in her 20s, and Wolfgang's in his 30s. I think Wes is like, 22, because at the rate his luck was going, it would have been a miracle for him to live to be much older than that.

Ultimately though, they're cartoons and age doesn't matter much!

Cringe ass Headcanons about the Don't Starve Together Gang's gender and sexuality

Wilson - Aroace He cares more about science and being a smart ass than he does romance or sex.

Willow - Lesbian She seems like the type of girl that scares men away on purpose... Gremlin woman.

Wolfgang - Aroace He would rather settle down with a friend than a lover. The man also sees most of the people in the group as friends.

Wendy - Aroace She is a kid but even if she was an adult, her grief for her sister is stronger than any love for someone (be is romantic or what not)

WX-78 - Non-binary & Aroace They are canonically non-binary so the obvious is obvious. They don't feel romantic feelings but they can feel many other forms of love... they are not truly emotionless.

Wickerbottom - Asexual Biromantic She wouldn't mind a partner to help her at her library but she might not go with any of the people here... except maybe Wanda.

Woodie - Pansexual More like axe-sexual... Wait wouldn't that make every ship with him a polycule? He loves Lucy but if he was to love someone that wasn't a talking axe, he wouldn't care what gender they are.

Wes - Demiboy & Asexual Wes feels like the type to be referred to with he / them... Be it because of the character he plays or because that's what they refers to themself as.

Maxwell - Bisexual "I miss my wife, Wilson... I miss her a lot... I'll be back." he swings both ways but uh... who wants this pathetic man outside of Charlie?

Wigfrid - Demigirl & Bisexual This queen of theater (Sorry Charlie) uses she / them much the same way Wes does... that and she is just cool like that. Oh and she likes people.

Webber - Demiboy & Aroace His reasoning for being demiboy is because he is literally two beings and the spider is a they / it... also same thing as Wendy, his fixation on bugs and critters is stronger than dumb romantic love. (If he was like an adult)

Winona - Butch [Lesbian] Obvious thing is obvious, she has a girlfriend back on Earth that thinks she's dead. Also like look at her, she is straight up very butch leaning.

Warly - Gay The other side of the spectrum, Warly is probably gay... Totally not because Waokevale and another person influenced me with Warly x Woodie...

Wortox - Aroace Mortal concepts as "love" and "sex" doesn't interest this imp, he is only after chaos and fun.... Also Wortox gives zero DAMNs what pronouns you use on Wortox.

Wormwood - Non-Binary & Aroace The lad doesn't know or really feel that type of stuff [And it's not because he is a "kid", he is an adult.], Wormwood only uses he / him pronouns on himself because they sound nice but he doesn't mind any pronouns really.

Wurt - Aroace Wurt is a kid and she's more focus on creating a merm kingdom and learning to really care.

Walter - Aroace Kid doesn't care about romance but probably had a crush at some point.

Wanda - Asexual Lesbian Wanda doesn't have time to have sex with your mother, she is trying not to turn into dust.

Wonkey - Literally not even a real character.

Hey I’m thinking about DST and I guess since I’ve been putting other headcanons here, I may as well plop this down too!

Ages for the kids! I guess!!

Wurt: 7. She acts pretty young, and I feel like she’s the youngest of the group (Wormwood not withstanding, but he’s a tree boy). We don’t really know how merms age, but I assume she was born as one, despite what we know from the Gorge.

Webber: 8-9. He acts childish and was potentially coddled by his parents. He references having a night light, blankie, and other things of that nature in many of his quotes, but I don't think he’s so young that these are “age appropriate” for him. He’s also lacking many inhabitions that come with age, letting him go ham with his decorations on spider dens. Then again that could be a result of living in the middle of nowhere and being an only child.

Wendy: 11. Basically confirmed by the storyline, if her hearing Ragtime is any indication (born 1903, supposedly went to the constant in 1914). Acts mature, but even through her depression she allows herself to (secretly) indulge in childish things, like candy and drawing.

Walter: 12-14. I feel like he’s on the cusp of being a teenager, and strikes me as the kind of kid that tries to act older and more mature than he actually is... But is definitely the oldest of the “kid” group. I especially feel this way because he constantly insists he’s “too old” for things like trick-or-treating...

As a note, this took approximately 9 and a half hours to sketch, line, and color completely

Wurt probably had to learn how to do the merm guard paints once the King is in power. I don’t know if the markings are suppose to have significance or no (it’d be cool if they did, but I don’t think that was thought of). 

Also, since she doesn’t live around merms, she had to practice painting on her friends. She’d try to paint Abigail as well, but the ghost body won’t hold the color.

You wonder how don’t starve characters feel to hug? Here’s a headcanon list about it that i made a long while ago

Wilson At first it's awkward and hesitant, though the more you do it the more tender and nice his hugs feel, not too tight yet not loose, just the right amount of hug.

Willow Her hugs feel slightly tight, but still very cosy. You might get some ashes and soot stains on yourself, and you might get the scent of charcoal on you, but it's a very nice hug.

Wolfgang His hugs are Tight and Mighty, of course not spine crushing, but they can range from "i'm trying to hug you tight while also not snapping you in half" to "i'm excited and nearly forgot that my hugs are strong and you're having trouble breathing-"

Wendy Her hugs aren't very tight and pretty slow, but you can tell that she likes hugs.

WX-78 They don't engage in hugging that much, if you manage to get them into a hug then it'd just be them stiffly holding you not sure what to do.  May smell of old pennies

Wickerbottom Grandma Hugs, Grandma Hugs, Grandma Hugs, especially if you're asking for one or are giving her one, her hugs can be very caring and tender. You might get that "grandma clothes" smell after but it's more comforting than inconvenient in any way.

Woodie His hugs are strong, and super cuddly, but also slightly itchy coming from his beard and probably pine needle covered clothes. Might smell of pine too.

Wes Listen this skinny clown has very nice hugs, they're like wilson except he's much, much more open to give people hugs if needed and they're so filled with care, and expressive if that makes sense. Smells slightly of rubber.

Maxwell Stiff, awkward, but lowkey quickly gives in and embraces the hugs while he can, you might smell either smoke or roses-

Wigfrid Her hugs are passionate, tight, though can be pretty tender if the situation calls for it, though she’s usually a "sling my arm on your shoulder" kinda gal.

Webber Little dude gives the best and happiest hugs, decently tight and filled with care.

Warly Another really good contender in the "best hugs" category, they can be slow and caring to tight and passionate, dude is such a nice hugger, you might get a slight scent of either grandma clothes or something he cooked that day.

Wormwood Would probably feel odd considering how bumpy he is, and the gem on his chest, and the fact he has plant textures, but his hugs are very nicely done, and you can just feel that he really enjoys them from how nicely tight they are, you might even smell of flowers after.

Winona Pretty tight and caring, though like wigfrid she's more of a shoulder pat or a hair ruffle woman, and kinda only gives hugs to those she's real familiar with.

Wortox He probably wont be able to fully hold/touch you back, but he's very nice to hug as he's fluffy and you can tell he likes being embraced, though you may have some red fur shedded onto you.

Wurt Slimy, kinda wet, though she likes hugs and will do so very tightly, you'd probably smell of fish for a while.

Walter Very nice, decently tight hugs, though they probably don't last long because he's on the go a lot, you might get some dog fur on you.

Wanda Very rarely does she have the time for a long hug, often it’s just an arm sling or a half hug, but when she does give a decently long hug it’s almost as good as Wickerbottom’s.
