"Ye know I didn't want to." there was no other choice, sadly. he could no longer look at all of them the same way, and catherine was no short change on that matter either. if anything, she was the worst view of them all. "... ah' miss 'er. Miss all 'a dem."

Catherine pauses, looking up from her paperwork. Watching Jack as the question hangs in the air between them for a moment.

"I can't say for certain, Jack. It was a hard time for both of us." There's a small pause, before she smiles softly, reassuringly. "I don't hold it against you. I'm sure you did what you felt you had to."
