actually the older i get the more i find myself growing out of tumblr. like im happy here and ill probably keep using this site until it implodes but i feel so disconnected from the mindset of like. treating media consumption like its a pillar of life you need to maintain and polish and repair and debate like you’re an ancient philosopher or whatever in the same way your close relationships and sense of self are. does that make sense. like obviously what you consume and how you consume it shapes you as a person in some respects but jesus christ the heights this website takes it to. baby boy go outside and look at a butterfly for a while. watch a bee pollinate.

#this has always been alienating for me in some respect. and i think its probably alienating for everyone to some degree #but like. fr the more i go outside and live life the more i read posts on here and go wow. 0 perspective present in that thang #freewheeling bitextual #not to be haughty or anything about it like i think maybe this is just me getting older and not vibing with the kids. or growing out of it #or something.#its also just like. i dont get dedicating yourself so totally to a piece of media #(xe says running a star trek blog. lmfao)#but i mean. letting it occupy all ur free waking minutes and making it your whole personality #like. is that not really precarious. and also just . unfulfilling? (said genuinely)
