Well, I honestly never thought about Mary outside of the context of Christmas before I became an Anglican but my WORD WHY DIDN'T I!!
#am almost done reading Jesus and the Jewish Roots of Mary and......wow#i had such a good conversation with my catechist about why on earth our previous churches paid no attention to her#(we grew up evangelical/non denom/with some Baptist roots)#and now much to my surprise and probably the surprise of my church back in Thailand probably#my perspective has wheeled around in the other direction#i wrote the second story in the summer project with all of this in mind#though i think love and honour for mary is pretty hard to articulate for me#i mean!! all the songs and the marian devotions in the roman catholic church make sense now#and so does tolkien's way of writing varda (which if i recall correctly is based on Mary)#anyhow more thoughts to come i literally JUST woke up skdjskkndd#songbird again
