you know you probably could make extraordinarily good biblical epics, like, even new testament based ones, but the only people who would want to do that are fucking freaks (derogatory)
#personal#yes fine i was listening to the prince of egypt soundtrack again that's not the point#the point is that you can do some really good drama with like actual stories from the bible#like ben hur but actual stories from the bible cuz if you read it like a narrative as well as a religious text#it's a treasure trove of fascinating stories yes even the jesus stuff#but the only people who even think 'i wanna make a bible movie' are the weirdos who make shit like god's not dead and the like#(tho any attempt to redo an exodus movie would make people go nuts because if they did historically accurate rameses)#(with his pale skin and red hair the 'cleopatra was a WOC' crowd would lose their fucking mind)#(tho i would like a good exodus movie i think people overlook that in terms of how badly it can fuck you up)#this is also not a thought anyone other than me is having#unfortunately i am who i am and in addition to all of that i am also quite catholic#and thus i have these kinds of thoughts
