Ok the problem is that I know that my MADD is not a healthy coping mechanism, but I also have no idea how I would survive without it? Like I live in an abusive home. Last night I was trying to sleep but then my abuser started a screaming rage at somebody else. Was absolutely terrified/about to have a panic attack but if i did the rage would be directed towards me. So I imagined my paracosm foster dad standing guard at my bedroom door and telling me not to worry and to go to sleep because he'd keep me safe. And I was able to stay calm. So like...what else am I supposed to do but daydream?

Hey, I saw your post asking us to gush about minecraft ocs and…ok, so, I have a lot. Partly because details of my ocs tie into the world I made for them, and mostly because I’ve been working on this for 3 and a half years and there’s a lot to tell.
Anyways, my main oc, Hannah, is from the real world and was dragged into the realm of Minecraft. It turns out that there are four kingdoms in this world and three out of the four kingdoms believe in a religious prophecy that entails that a tyrant will rise from one of the kingdoms, but a warrior will return to vanquish them. They believe Hannah to be this warrior, but Hannah doesn’t feel like she is. Unfortunately for her, the only way for her to get back is to go through the same portal that she came in from, and the only way to get the portal to reactivate is to gather the missing corner pieces from each of the four kingdoms. Throughout her journey, Hannah makes friends and allies, all while learning the rules of the server she’s in and how Minecraft works.
Oh yeah, the four kingdoms here are:
Kinerfall: A kingdom for the other players on the server. They see the world as more of an in-depth roleplay thing. Ruled by Queen Amara, who is also from the real world.
Weyforlosa: A kingdom for mobs. They are currently in an active war with Kinerfall because their ruler, King Coveris, used to date Queen Amara, but they split because they each thought that the other was going to be the tyrant.
Lavail: The Nether kingdom. They usually don’t believe in the prophecy or the religion the other kingdoms follow called Avianity. Ruled by King Hesil.
Vaniscar: The End kingdom. Currently the people there are a bit on edge because their recently crowned king, King Afias, has a bit of a checkered past, but he’s what they have for now.
Here’s a drawing of the rulers of those kingdoms btw:
Throughout the story, Hannah makes friends with some mobs that decide to tag along with her, pictured here:
Lonnie is a witch’s experiment that came to life as a slime. She loves adventures and knows how to brew potions.
Isador used to be a wandering trader, but he got turned into an evoker after being captured during a raid. He breaks free from the pillager’s side after meeting Hannah.
Dilou is a part of the royal guard for Lavail. He’s never been outside of the Nether before, so the adventure he goes on with the team is full of new surprises.
Evelyn has it out for King Afias after he wronged her in such a way that it got her banished from Vaniscar.
Anyways, sorry I rambled for so long. I just have a lot to say about this world…wait, I didn’t even tell you its name.
The world is called Avion. As such, the story is called Tale of Avion.
That’s all. Take care. Stay determined <3
This is me reading this btw^^^
Thank you for sharing!!! Your drawings rule, I love the way you draw endermen especially (you get the proportions just right!!) Also never apologize for rambling about it, especially when you've been asked to do so! I appreciate it!!
As for Kinerfall, all of the players there see it as a roleplay sort of thing (and at least Amara is an irl person, though idk if the others are as well)... would they ever want to return to the real world, do they have access to do so, or are they mostly just in-game players? Is Amara an exception in this right, like Hannah is?
Also even if Hannah isn't the real hero the rest of the kingdoms make her out to be, she still seems to be uniting them in a way! Getting a bunch of mobs together from different corners of the world towards a common force (and getting to understand where each is coming from) is very valuable!
For kingdoms, are they/have they ever been on good terms? Do they have agreements or treaties between one another to keep the peace, is it uneasy, or are there a lot of wars happening? In my head I feel that Kinerfall wouldn't get along with a lot of the kingdoms (being that players typically hunt mobs for resources/sport/etc.), but I have little knowledge about it as of yet so I'd love to hear :)
I ask a lot of questions because I'm curious, so sorry if the wall of text is a little intimidating! I just love the worldbuilding!! As you know, my nether fascination is not very sane of any human being, but I also love exploring how in-game mechanics might work in a story-- things like using your inventory, for instance, or how totems of undying feel to use, if applicable in the AU. Like-- for the end kingdom, what is their main material? Like what are Afias' clothes/armor made of? Do they have materials in the end we're not able to see in game, or do they trade with other kingdoms? Do they eat chorus fruit? Do endermen need to eat at all? How do alliances work out between them all? How do the mobs keep from burning during the day? Do they have any magic that helps? Charms, amulets, totems? Do kingdoms have to compromise sometimes (like players would need to have a meeting with the mobs at night, to prevent them from burning up, in lieu of being able to see all that comfortably?)
ALSO stay determined? A fellow UTDR enjoyer? Huzzah! This is coming from someone who wears a LOT of stripes and now has a love for sweaters after allowing it to shape my life a while back lol
Anyways. Lots of questions, I'm inherently curious, what can I say? Long story short. I love your characters I'm looking directly at them!!!! Thank you for sharing with the class :D

Yh i agree about people s obsession with new duos. And don t get me wrong, sometimes new and unexpected duos are great, i m talking to the treebark burner account! Ranchers were also great, and totally out of nowhere. But i think people are a bit too obsessed with 1 creating new duos and names in order to portray new narratives and theories and 2 making every close relationship romantic or familiar, as if close friendships, qprs or just good ol' rivalries did not exist 3 ignoring female ccs, even more so when it gets in the middle of a ship (this happens with women in every single piece of media btw).
Male-female friendships (or ships) are often ignored bc i feel a lot of fans feel as if these fanon relationships are somehow more "real" and not roleplay bc they are a "straight couple" (c'mon people, most of us are queer what are you doing with this mentality?), and are more likely to assume you ship the creators and not the characters, or worst, to actually assume the ccs are together irl (which was the reason some female ccs were against shipping in the 1st place). Re: this point, I will give an special mention to bee duo though, the fans really assumed they liked each other irl, which was very creepy considering they were underage at the time.
F/F ships are also often snubbed, although lately i ve seen them become a lot more popular, such as nature wives and more recently Gem & Pearl (ik the ship has a name, but i ve decided to ignore it bc we are better than that), which has been satisfactory to see. Still a long way to go though.
Hope i have explained myself correctly 👉👈 english s not my 1st language so i m kind of nervous about dping such a long post about such a complex issue. Feel free to correct me
no you're all good! thanks for the ask 🫶
also sorry to anyone who's here for tree bark only bc this acc is basically my alt now lmaoo (due to me keeping anon off on main)
you're right that ppl want to create new duos and narratives but sometimes... those ppl aren't that close. or had three interactions in a series. that isn't to say they're not friends or friends can't become close in a short amount of time. but the fandomisation and trying to come up with an incomprehensible name instead of saying their names is kinda ?? to me personally. not that's bad, it's just... i don't really get why you won't use their names. especially when it's not a long established group that frequently collabs.
you're so right about male-female friendships and especially in this fandom. i feel like m/f shipping in this sphere (outside of the obvious lizzie/joel) is seen as taboo bc it could leak into m/f irl shipping. at least that's why i was squicked out for like two years. esp bc m/f irl shipping was / is a problem (for example, i still see ppl asking in their public yt comments if stress and iskall are together. during hc2 people thought mumbo and false were dating when he was like 17 and she was in her early twenties and it's just fucking weird to truth in people's comments).
(unrelated to this discussion but i will always be salty that the antihcshippers never bring up the point of REAL AND ANNOYING M/F IRL SHIPPING IN COMMENTS and instead bully scar/grian shippers on twitter or whatever. really shows that they never cared about cc's "boundaries" or feelings and just want that fandom moral superiority. quick have you been to comment sections of eps posted by the women in like 2017. have you seen the random twitch chatters.)
the fanon side of m-f friendships/ships in hc is interesting bc pre gem and pearl, the three women had their "designated guy bestie that they always collab with" and it's quite obvious who: stress-iskall, cleo-joe, false-ren (to a lesser extent cub). former two are basically the only prominent m/f ships (iskall in particular plays into it). i had talked to ppl in dms about why false/ren isn't prominent and my main theory is what i call the yaoi shield bc ren is shipped with a lot of men LMFAO (also something something about ren/iskall and false/stress being complements to avoid the "boring" m/f shipping).
but i still wish m-f friendships get more recognition 😔 like if you're not shipping them in the character sense, there's no risk of being seen as irl shipping, so technically it's no different from same gender friendships, right? 🤡 and i do not like the instant "siblingification" to create a fanon familiar bond to avoid shipping. like sometimes it works. a lot of the time it doesn't. people can just be friends. and they all are actually friends.
ok, more of a tangent here, but dug up an old ass convo from 2021 in which there was a point like "sometimes romantic relationships can happen between ccs and it is definitely more feasible than ccs becoming family via marriage/adoption" and i said "so technically 'shipping hcs' are less weird than 'same family hcs'. hm". soooo 🤡🤡🤡 it's totally fine if you don't wanna ship, but it is also TOTALLY fine to keep them as friends instead of siblings / family hcs. i think this fandom has enough awareness now to know you mean friends when you portray them as friends.
i'm happy to see more yuri bc yuri is almost always the least popular in fandoms. but i think m/m and f/f also has the vibes of "less likely to be perceived as irl shipping so we can go wild" while m/f character shipping is still treated with caution? and people really don't want ccs to misinterpret it as irl shipping? tbh i feel like the modern day fandom has gone into "god forbid a man and a woman are friends" that m/f is seen as the "boring" "cop-out" and it goes all the way around. like yeah sometimes it's boring. but not the point of it being nonexistent lmfao like m/f could be funnnnn!!!!!! and they can be queer too!! bi4bi, t4t!!!! or they can just be hetero idk!!
anyways. as a m&f / m/f main i have Thoughts. but yeah 👍

Mind if I put in my two cents' worth from "the other side" OP?
while the rest of the post is kept civil and respectful, was is really necessary to open it with "y'all are fucking WEIRD"? also who uses weird as an insult in this time and on this website lmao-
we are not forcing anything on the hermits, if you think a 20 notes post about robot creeper man with reptilian instincts preening another man's real bird wings affects the hermits in any way other than "oh cool someone thinks about me" (if they see it at all, which in itself is unlikely) then idk what to tell you
connecting with a way a hermit portrays the character they're roleplaying and creating content you vibe with for them isn't a bad thing, it can help deal with stuff going on in your life and find a community and overall have a positive impact on people's lives
it is about the "what ifs" and literally nobody is being pushy or bossy or whatever, we create content because we know it ain't ever happening in canon
the hermits are adults and are responsible enough to know what being a public figure on the internet entails and they chose and continue to choose living their lives this way. they have way more people who would listen to them then random tumblr bloggers and if they wanted to let people know not to do something, they could, and would
some hermits (Cleo and Doc that I know of) have even talked about shipping and specifically said they don't have problems with it, Doc also said he hasn't heard any of the other hermits complain about it or even mentioning it either
funny you mention how the hermits could hate each other irl but then roleplay as their characters and get on well, almost like the irl hermits and their minecraft personas are not the same thing and neither are their relationships, real or imaginary 🤔
I don't really get the point about picturing "perfect" relationships? of course fluff is a genre that exists but so does angst and everything in between on that spectrum, and some works show very complex relationships and character studies whether you like or not (this doesn't apply only to hermitcraft btw, pretty much all fandoms are like that in my experience)
one can respect the hermits' real lives and relationships while still shipping their personas (or even, dare I say, their irl selves, but I won't speak up on this cause I don't have personal experience). for example I know Oli has a girlfriend whom he loves and I'm happy for them, and that is in no way contradictory with thinking there's romantic subtext between Mumbo and Iskall in a minecraft video, even though I very well know they're in no way into each other irl. I can't put it into words well but it's like when you ship two characters in more conventional media: you know the actors aren't nor will be together, and that the writers did not intend to portray those characters as having chemistry, but shipping them doesn't make you a bad person, so why would it be the case here?
i’ve decided I no longer want to stay out of this. fuck it. free country and shit. listen: y’all (shippers) are fucking WEIRD. And I know you’ve already heard all of the “these are real people” and shit, so I’ma skip that. this is me being worried about your casual objectification of celebrity relationships and how that affects you
