The CRK infection has spread to BT as more than a joke help

The tldr of the idea is that instead of the transformation being caused by Pecharunt’s poison and the Toxic Chain like in BT’s normal story, it’s long-term exposure to the Licorice Sea, and the legends of the licorice monsters from the Sea would be the stand in for Ogerpon.

They’d be from one of the villages near the Dark Cacao Kingdom, a good distance from the actual citadel but still on the seashore. Maybe a descendant of a dragon cookie lineage, but so far removed that it’s pretty much impossible to tell except for the slit eyes (which the Carmine equivalent would also have). An adventure close to the “waters” of the Licorice Sea gone wrong and oops now he’s doused in licorice that won’t come off and suffering horrible side effects, courtesy of his draconic lineage and the licorice not meshing well :D

Design takes heavy inspo from the Living Licorice Abyss boss if it wasn’t obvious lol
