Forged Series - Part I
Title: Forged
Rating: Explicit
Pairing: Bill Bevilaqua x OFC!Reader
Summary: You're a forger working out of an auction house that's owned by Kansas City mafia boss Bill Bevilaqua. You're practical, detail orientated, and love at first sight doesn't make any logical sense. That is until it happens to you.
Taglist
Tumblr media
You’ve always been dedicated to your work. Spending hours bent over a desk, making sure the dye on the pen was historically accurate as you wrote the vineyard name on the aged label of the forged bottle of wine. You never stopped long enough to pursue a romantic relationship, or even do something so mundane as dating.
That is until you met Bill Bevilaqua.
You had been working as a forger in the dingy basement of the auction house when he first passed through on a tour of the establishment. You never paid attention to the bored, wealthy persons that passed quickly through the storage area where you worked. He had been impressive in the energy that he carried, enough that it made you take notice of him. No man or woman had ever caught your attention like that before and it left you deeply unsettled.
Love at first sight was fine as long as you don’t see him again. And that plan was going just fine until you were asked to go to the auctioneer’s office two weeks later. You hadn’t expected the call, you were dressed in a silk shirt with cherries on it, a pair of wide legged jeans, and red converse sneakers. It wasn’t exactly a “meet the head of the auction house” outfit. But when you walked into the office, your eyes immediately landed on Bill and once again he was all you could see.  But he wasn’t alone. It was him, an insurance agent, and the head auctioneer. They were asking for your expertise on whether or not the painting before them was a true Vermeer.
It wasn’t.
You distinctly remember telling Arlo, the capo that was in charge of managing the forgeries at the auction house, that the yellow paint had to lack two isotopes: strontium-90 and cesium-137. Those two isotopes didn’t exist in the world until 1945. If they showed up in an authentication process on a piece, it was automatically flagged as a forgery. You had a lengthy conversation with the completely disinterested Arlo about the importance of making sure the yellow paint in this particular painting had the isotopes removed from them.
He didn’t listen to you.
“Be honest.”
It’s the first thing you’ve heard Bill say and once again, you feel like a fucking deer caught in the headlights. Why are thousands of books written about the wonderfulness of falling in love when it’s so terrifying? Who wants to experience these kinds of feelings, let alone read about them? And you hadn’t even processed the fact that you’re not even on Bill’s radar, except for right now. Shit. He’s still waiting for your answer.
“It’s not a Vermeer.” You bite your tongue to keep from saying anything else. About Arlo not listening to you about the paint, about using an art student who used Rembrant’s lighting in the forged Vermeer piece. Not to mention they tried to knock off Vermeer’s most famous piece, Girl with a Pearl Earring. Everything about the painting screamed the brashness and audacity of youth.
Bill shakes his head. “Fucking Arlo.”
You scoff before you can stop yourself and Bill’s slightly raised eyebrow tells you he heard it. Thankfully the head of the auction house dismisses you from the meeting and you don’t hesitate to remove yourself from the office before you further embarrass yourself. It’s almost an hour later when the auctioneer finds you at your workstation, focused on painting the vineyard and wine’s name on the piece of cork that had been lifted from an Alabama nautical museum.
“You’re doing the Vermeer.”
“I’m not doing Girl with a Pearl Earring though.”
“God, no.”
You put your paintbrush down and remove your magnifying glasses. “So which one am I doing?”
“Mr. Bevilaqua said it’s up to your discretion.”
You don’t need time to ponder over what masterpiece you’re going to forge for him. The Geographer. Art critics still don’t know who the man in the painting is supposed to be, but as you dedicate yourself for the next two months to make the forged painting, as you add in the details of the scrolls on the floor, the details of the rug, the distant look in the subjects eyes as he stares out of the window, you realize it’s not anyone in particular. It’s the spirit of discovery, the desire to explore and gain knowledge, possessions, land and property. It’s the perfect painting for a mafia boss who owns pretty much the entire center of the United States. At least you hope it is. Once it’s completed, gets the approval of the auctioneer, it’s sent over to Bill’s home. Two weeks later, you receive an invitation for the unveiling party of the painting.
You wouldn’t miss it for the world.

Kamala Khan’s bookshelves
Kamala’s room in The Marvels is an absolute treasure trove of little details to zoom in on, and I’ve identified so many books on her shelves!
Shelf 1, top to bottom:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
1. Landmark Experiments in Twentieth Century Physics by George L. Trigg
College-level book about experiments that helped us learn about x-rays, lasers, isotopes, superconductors, and all kinds of other things I don’t understand. Meant to be more practical than theoretical since it talks about the actual methodologies of these experiments. Could be for school, or for Kamala and Bruno to run their own tests of Kamala’s powers. The first of many books in the Khan house that come from Dover Publications.
Tumblr media
2. Space Time Matter by Hermann Weyl
“An esoteric initiation into space time physics” -Amazon reviewer. I’m gonna be real, I don’t understand half the words in this book description, but apparently it’s famous for introducing gauge theory, which was later reborn as phase transformations in quantum theory. I can see this being something Kamala reads to try and understand the bangle transporting her to the Partition. Also from Dover.
Tumblr media
3. A Map to the Sun by Sloane Leong
A graphic novel about a high school girl’s basketball team learning to work together despite their many differences and conflicts. Also it has a gorgeous color palette. Seems fairly self explanatory why it’s in this movie. I’ll definitely be borrowing this from my library! Like my friend Kamala recommended a book to me herself.
Tumblr media
4. The Good Immigrant anthology edited by Nikesh Shukla
21 essays from Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic (BAME) people in the UK about their experiences. It was crowdfunded initially, extremely critically acclaimed, and has gotten spinoffs and sequels. Riz Ahmed, who is British Pakistani, is one contributor, and a fun fact is that Rish Shah (Kamran from Ms. Marvel) worked with Riz Ahmed in an Oscar winning short called The Long Goodbye. Also, the editor, Nikesh Shukla, is currently writing the Spider-Man India comics series!
Tumblr media
5. Bright Lines by Tanwi Nandini Islam
A coming-of-age story about 3 young adults with complicated family, friend, and romantic relationships between them. They have to travel from Brooklyn to Bangladesh together one summer and thereby discover a lot about themselves. I haven’t read it, but there seems to be a ton of complex representation of LGBTQ, POC, immigrant, and Muslim characters. I wonder how much the three main characters can be compared with our three characters with complex relationships in The Marvels, and I wonder which character Kamala most relates to!
6. I can’t tell! The font is bugging the hell out of me because theoretically, with that amount of contrast, I should be able to read a word when I get two inches from the TV and mess with the settings. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
7. I also can’t tell, but I’m being easier on myself because the title is written in white on a yellow background. It’s not the only book I know off the top of my head with this color scheme (Yellowface by RF Kuang) because the title is definitely multiple words. Help!
Shelf 2, right to left:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
1. One Night that Changes Everything by Lauren Barnholdt
A YA romance where, through a convoluted series of events, a teenager must face all of her insecurities in one night. I can see Kamala devouring this as brain candy after wrestling with those advanced science books, or using it as fic inspiration!
2. Can’t tell, but love the color scheme!
This next one is a weird one, because I am 100% sure of what book it is, but I cannot find a picture of a matching edition.
3. Wizard at Large by Terry Brooks
It’s definitely, without a doubt, this book (where a character and a magical medallion are accidentally transported to Earth from another realm and switches places with an evil genie). Like those are the words on the spine and the plot of the book is an obvious choice for this movie. The fonts match on the audiobook, the ebook, and the next two books in the series. But try as I might, I cannot find any proof on the internet that the physical book that appears in Kamala’s room, that uses those two fonts and that spine formatting, exists. This is haunting me…
4. (On the other side of the box) It’s not The Twilight Saga Eclipse, but I definitely thought it was before I could watch in high definition. I think it’s a journal or sketchbook of Kamala’s; there are a bunch scattered throughout the room.
Shelf 3:
Tumblr media
I’ve only identified the bottom book, which is Einstein’s Theory of Relativity by Max Born (Dover Publications). The third one up is HAUNTING me, it looks SO identifiable and yet!
Living Room Side Table:
Tumblr media
1. Amateur Astronomer’s Handbook by JB Sidgwick (from Dover Publications)
2. Cosmology by Hermann Bondi (also Dover)
Both of these seem less difficult than the science books in Kamala’s room, but reviewers note that it helps to know calculus when reading Cosmology. Idk which member of the Khan family is reading these, but I love their family’s connection to the stars 💫
Tbh I’m having so much fun doing this! And I really wish we got to see Monica’s living space so I can analyze her books 😭

Kamitsubaki City Under Construction: "Ensemble" and "Regenerate" (and "Regenerate Virtual Reality") are coming soon -- and will be in English!!! (AKA: my "PLEASE PLAY KAMICITY" shill post)
Tumblr media
What is Kamitsubaki City and Virtual Witch Phenomenon?
A thread for newcomers to Kamitsubaki, in light of the 3 new games upcoming! This is the oversea's first look at Kamitsubaki's stories and creative worlds. (Slightly edited mirror of my thread on Twitter!!)
Kamitsubaki Studio is a Japanese creative music group. They're most known for their music group Virtual Witch Phenomenon -- comprising of their 5 main virtual singer talents: Kaf, Rim, Harusaruhi, Isekaijoucho, and Koko.
youtube
Kamitsubaki City Under Construction (henceforth referred to as simply KamiCity) is a series of games that tells the story of a mysterious city in the virtual world that constantly self-destructs and reforms. The members of VWP are characters in KamiCity, and have different names.
Tumblr media
ALSO SUBSCRIBE TO VWP!!!! and the individual members too!! They all have such unique and stunning voices, and such beautiful songs too!!! They each have their own style that's drawn their own individual fanbases but they unite so beautifully and melodiously as VWP...
Kaf - Morisaki Kafu
Rim - Tanioki Rime
Harusaruhi - Asanushi Haru
Isekaijoucho - Yorukawa Sekai
Koko - Rinne Koko
The five girls were brought to KamiCity from the real world into the virtual world, as the mystical "witches" who could sing to save them from the apocalypse.
Tumblr media
KamiCity as a game series started with KamiCity Emergence, a limited-run mobile game in 2021 in which players solved word puzzles known as "Q's." And then KamiCity Narrative released earlier this year (2023), a VN/TTRPG-style game. Both are Japanese exclusive, though.
KamiCity Ensemble, Regenerate, and Regenerate Virtual Reality are the three new games here.
Tumblr media
KamiCity Ensemble is a rhythm game for mobile and Steam. The key visual focuses on the Isotope versions of VWP -- you may know the CeVIO Kafu as one of them.
The isotopes/CeVIOs (now SynthV and VOICEPEAK too) are Kafu, Sekai, Rime, Coko, and Haru. Before now, the Isotopes have had very few involvement or connection with KamiCity, with only Kafu appearing in the "Emergence" soundtrack (NOT the story.) What their connection is to the Witches and KamiCity in-lore is still unknown, which is super interesting!
KamiCity Regenerate is a visual novel for Steam and Switch, seeming to focus on the story of KamiCity in full detail.
In Emergence and Narrative, the story was only in bits and pieces. Regenerate (and Ensemble) is also a huge deal because they're in English too!
Tumblr media
The VR version seems to be roughly the same, although having exclusive 3D visuals. It's also undetermined at this point what platform it will be on.
Tumblr media
Kamitsubaki Studio has repeatedly blown me away by their music and intrigued me by their world of KamiCity (which is also featured in their music videos) so I'm so excited to see it in full!! PLAY KAMICITY PLEAAAASEEEE!!!!!!!!! and listen to their music/watch the music videos IT'S SO GOOD!!!!!

A Leap of Faith | Rated G | Jackie / Shauna, Nat / Shauna | Part 4 of Odds and Ends series | Word count: 2,006 Tags: One Shot, Alternate Universe - Canon Divergence, POV Shauna Shipman, Pre-Plane Crash (Yellowjackets), Soccer, Teen Timeline (Yellowjackets) --- Shauna Shipman knew two things with ironclad certainty: soccer made sense and love did not. In the euphoric aftermath of their victory, the Yellowjackets come together for a celebratory group photo. ---
Shauna Shipman knew two things with ironclad certainty: soccer made sense and love did not.
On the field, she understood her role with crystalline clarity. Center midfielder, the beating heart of the team’s 4-4-2 formation. Always in motion, Shauna lived to control the middle of the field, to stifle the opposition’s attacks and spring her own forwards free. It was a 90-minute high-wire act of balance and precision, but one she’d performed since forever.
The grass stains on her knees and the burning in her lungs after a hard sprint felt more real than any of the insipid love songs crooning from mall speakers or her car radio. Those sugary melodies sang of love as some aspirational prize, all dramatic professions and happily ever afters wrapped in a tidy bow.
But Shauna had seen what lay beneath the shiny plastic veneer of suburbia. The hairline fractures and rotting foundations behind every picket fence smile, the furious silences stretching between her parents louder than any shouted argument. Love was a con, she’d decided long ago. An unstable isotope, decaying from the moment it was formed.
On the soccer field, at least, the rules stayed blessedly constant. The comforting geometry of the penalty box, the reliable rhythm of a well-executed give-and-go. Shauna could chart her course on muscle memory alone, Jackie always exactly where she needed to be to receive the pass, Lottie reliably hugging the touchline, Van an unyielding sentinel in goal. There were no hidden traps waiting to trip her up, just the black and white certainty of the scoreboard when the final whistle blew.
Maybe that was why she kept coming back year after year, despite the burning in her thighs and the way her heart felt like it might pound out of her chest. Because for 90 minutes (and maybe a handful more if Tai got her way), Shauna’s world made sense. On the field she was pure kinetic energy, the simple Newtonian physics of a body in motion. Soccer stripped her life down to the bare essentials: get ball, keep ball, put ball in net. Lather, rinse, repeat.
No hidden agendas, no false promises. Just 21 other girls and 2 goals and 1 ball, the elegant simplicity of action and reaction. The scoreboard never lied.
But love? Love was a four-letter word Shauna had long ago excised from her vocabulary. Just like all those other rose-tinted myths crammed down her throat since before she could walk. Prince Charming and happily ever afters and forevers that lasted until someone better came along or the going got tough or dad’s secretary bent over in a short enough skirt.
No, Shauna didn’t put much stock in forevers those days. She’d stick to 90 minutes instead, to the bruises and turf burns and shouts of her own name, the blessedly finite sprint from kickoff to final whistle.
That was enough for her. It had to be.
Except . . . somewhere in the sweat and the struggle and the desperate gasps for air, there was another four-letter word Shauna couldn’t quite dislodge. One that pulsed in time with her racing heart as she tracked Jackie’s darting runs, that rose in her throat like a cheer when Nat nutmegged a hapless defender. It was tangled and treacherous as a vine climbing towards the sun, but just as determined to take root.
And maybe, Shauna thought as Lottie sent a cross arcing her way and Jackie screamed for the ball, it wasn’t that different from soccer after all. Maybe love didn’t make sense and it didn’t follow rules and it sure as hell didn’t come with any guarantees.
But still she found herself leaning into it all the same, caught in its inexorable pull as surely as a satellite orbiting a star. All she could do was hold on tight, surrender to gravity, and pray the ride wouldn’t burn her up on re-entry.
So she did the only thing that had ever made sense. Shauna trapped the ball on her chest, looked up, and launched it into space.
And then?
She ran.
The referee’s whistle pierced through the clamor of the crowd, its shrill note heralding the end of the match. Shauna glanced up at the scoreboard, the numbers emblazoned there taking a moment to register through the haze of exhaustion: Wiskayok 3, Red Bank 1. They’d done it. They’d won the county championship.
Before the reality could fully sink in, Jackie’s arms were around her, the force of the hug nearly lifting Shauna off her feet. “We did it, Shauna! We fucking did it!” Jackie’s voice was hoarse from shouting, her breath hot against Shauna’s ear.
Shauna laughed, a giddy, breathless sound, and returned the embrace just as fiercely. Around them, the rest of the team converged in a tangle of sweaty limbs and elated shouts, the exhaustion of the hard-fought game momentarily forgotten in the rush of triumph. They jumped up and down, a pulsing mass of blue and yellow, until the need for air forced them apart.
As the initial euphoria began to ebb, Jackie disentangled herself from the group, her eyes sparkling with an idea. “Someone grab a camera!”
The suggestion was met with enthusiastic agreement, and the team began to assemble in front of the net, jostling each other good-naturedly as they jockeyed for position. Tai playfully shoved Van, who, in a burst of her usual theatrics, flopped onto the grass in front of everyone, striking a pose on her side with the ball resting against her stomach. Shauna found herself front and center, Jackie’s arm slung comfortably around her shoulders, the weight of it both familiar and thrilling.
“Misty! Get in here!” Nat called out, pale hands waving enthusiastically at their equipment manager from her spot between Shauna and Akilah. Misty, her face flushed with a mixture of shyness and exertion, ducked her head but scurried over to join the lineup beside Akilah.
Coach Scott surveyed the group, a rare smile softening his usually stern features. “Alright, everyone squeeze in!” He waved them closer, his eyes assessing the composition. “Misty, turn a bit to your left, please.”
As the team shuffled and compressed, Shauna became acutely aware of Nat’s presence to her right, the small space between them crackling with the residual energy of the game. Lottie, sitting on one knee in the front row, muttered something about Nat’s Italian heritage that Shauna didn’t quite catch, but it made Nat grin and raise her hand in a pinch gesture. Nat’s eyes caught Shauna’s, a fleeting moment of shared amusement, and Shauna felt an answering smile tug at her lips, charmed by the shy dimple that appeared on Nat’s cheek.
Then Jackie was adjusting her pose, her fingers brushing lightly against the 6 emblazoned on Shauna’s jersey, and suddenly Shauna’s focus narrowed to that single point of contact. The casual intimacy of the touch, the way Jackie’s hand lingered just a beat longer than necessary, made Shauna’s heart stutter in her chest, a familiar yet always surprising reaction.
It was always like this with Jackie - a constant push and pull, an undercurrent of something Shauna couldn’t quite name. Or maybe she could, but putting a label on it meant acknowledging the enormity of what she felt, the depth of her longing.
It was easier to focus on soccer, on the simplicity of the game. Pass, shoot, score. Cause and effect. Neat lines and clear objectives.
Not like the messy tangle of emotions that surfaced every time Jackie hugged her just a little too tight or fixed her with that soft, secret smile that seemed reserved only for Shauna.
“Okay, on three! One, two . . . ”
Shauna turned back to the camera, trying to school her features into something resembling a normal smile. Jackie’s arm tightened around her, pulling her close. The heat of her body, the citrusy scent of her shampoo beneath the sweat and grass, was dizzying.
“Three!” The shutter clicked, capturing the moment for posterity. The team erupted into cheers again, a jubilant mass of blue and yellow, when Laura Lee’s voice cut through the noise, “Let’s take a moment to give thanks.”
A few good-natured groans met her suggestion, but the team obediently formed a loose circle, arms slung around each other’s shoulders. Shauna found herself between Jackie and Nat, the warmth of their bodies bracketing her own.
Laura Lee began to speak, her voice steady and clear. “Dear Lord, we thank you for the strength and unity you’ve given us today. May we always remember the bonds we share, both on and off the field. Amen.”
A chorus of “Amen” echoed around the circle, some more enthusiastic than others. As Shauna murmured the word, she felt Jackie’s hand find hers, their fingers intertwining with practiced ease. On her other side, another hand brushed against hers, tentative but unmistakable.
“Alright, ladies, line up! Time for the handshake.”
Soccer was simple. Straightforward. You gave everything you had for ninety minutes, left it all on the field. There was a strange sort of peace in that single-minded focus, in surrendering to the flow of the game. The field was a world unto itself, a place where the only things that mattered were the ball at your feet and the teammates by your side.
But as the last hand was shaken and the teams began to drift apart, reality started to creep back in. And in the stillness that followed, in the quiet of the locker room or the hush of the bus ride home, Shauna’s thoughts always circled back to Jackie.
Sweet, stubborn, magnetic Jackie. Her best friend, her captain, the axis around which Shauna’s world turned. The one constant in a life that often felt like shifting sands beneath her feet.
It terrified Shauna sometimes, the depth of her feelings. The way her heart seized at the mere brush of Jackie’s hand, the way her skin tingled at the sound of her laugh. It was too much, too big, too all-consuming. A force as powerful and unpredictable as a free kick bending around a wall of defenders.
But maybe that was okay.
Maybe love wasn’t meant to make sense. Maybe it was supposed to be messy and confusing and utterly terrifying. Maybe that’s what made it so exhilarating, so worth chasing despite the risk of fumbling.
After all, wasn’t that the beauty of soccer? The unpredictability of it, the way the game could pivot on a dime? One moment you’re on the defensive, scrambling to protect your goal. The next, you’re surging forward, the ball dancing at your feet, the world blurring around you as you race towards the opposite end of the field.
It hadn’t always been this way for Shauna. There was a time when soccer was just another obligation, another box to check off on the endless list of expectations. But somewhere along the way, something had shifted.
And now, as she stood on the precipice of something new and terrifying and exciting, she couldn’t help but draw parallels between the two.
Love, Shauna was starting to realize, was not so different from soccer. It was a series of unexpected twists and turns, of setbacks and breakthroughs. It was the thrill of the unknown, the exhilaration of taking a leap of faith, of putting your heart on the line for something - for someone - that could change everything.
It was worth the risk of getting hurt, worth the uncertainty that came with stepping into uncharted territory. Because the alternative - a life without Jackie, without this wild, heart-pounding, breath-stealing feeling - was unimaginable.
Love and soccer. One intangible and elusive, the other solid and grounded. But at their core, they were two sides of the same coin, each a reflection of the other. Both demanding everything you had, both offering the chance at something extraordinary. The twin forces that kept her running, kept her chasing after dreams both on and off the field.
She might never fully understand love the way she understood soccer. But damn if she wasn’t going to keep playing the game.

"...AFTER NEARLY TWO CENTURIES OF METICULOUS GENETIC SPLICING, SHE WAS THE FINAL OFFSPRING..."
PIC(S) INFO: Spotlight on promo shots of elite corp agent code-named "Venus," resin girl kit sculpture by Azimuth Design, and sculpted by American pin-up artist/photographer Mike James.
"VENUS" BACKSTORY: "Literally bred for battle, the U5 Series was the most deadly tactical team of the entire Genesis Alliance. And the very best of this elite corp was an agent code-named "Venus". After nearly two centuries of meticulous genetic splicing, she was the final offspring, a virtually perfect fighting machine.
Her dreaded mission: to recover the awesome EMP bomb from planet Kepler, a fearsome outpost protected by thermonuclear cannons.
For this task, an incredible new biomorphic armour was developed for Venus. First, she was immersed to her neck in a searing cauldron of the bizaare Therion plasma. When lifted out, a liquid membrane coated her body like a second skin. This glowing metallic layer was then bombarded with Xenix isotopes, catalyzing it into something truly fantastic. Though flexible and only microns thin, this bio-armour could withstand the full brunt of a direct 25-megaton nuclear hit.
Now, sealed into her invincible Therion Blast Suit, Venus was ready to show these world-killers the true meaning of vengence."

Researchers Reconstruct Lifestyle and Face of 7th-Century Anglo-Saxon Teen
— By University of Cambridge | June 19, 2023 | Phys.Org

The face of a 16-year-old woman buried near Cambridge (UK) in the 7th century with an incredibly rare gold and garnet cross (the "Trumpington Cross") has been reconstructed following analysis of her skull. The striking image is going on public display for the first time on 21 June, with new scientific evidence showing that she moved to England from Central Europe as a young girl, leading to an intriguing change in her diet.
The image and artifacts from the mysterious woman's burial—discovered in 2012 by the Cambridge Archaeological Unit at Trumpington Meadows on Cambridge's southern limits—including her famous cross will be unveiled in a major new exhibition at Cambridge's Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology (MAA). "Beneath Our Feet: Archaeology of the Cambridge Region" will run from 21 June to 14 April 2024.
Forensic artist Hew Morrison created the likeness using measurements of the woman's skull and tissue depth data for Caucasian females. Without DNA analysis, Morrison could not be sure of her precise eye and hair color, but the image offers a strong indication of her appearance shortly before she died.
Tumblr media
Front view of the yet-to-be excavated skull with the cross. The Trumpington burial site made the headlines in 2012, following a series of excavations by Cambridge's Archaeological Unit in Trumpington Meadows
Hew Morrison said, "It was interesting to see her face developing. Her left eye was slightly lower, about half a centimeter, than her right eye. This would have been quite noticeable in life."
New "you are what you eat" isotopic analysis of the young woman's bones and teeth conducted by bioarchaeologists Dr. Sam Leggett and Dr. Alice Rose, and archaeologist Dr. Emma Brownlee, during Ph.D. research at the University of Cambridge also reveals that she moved to England from somewhere near the Alps, perhaps southern Germany, sometime after she turned seven years old.
Leggett and Rose also found that once the girl had arrived in England, the proportion of protein in her diet decreased by a small but significant amount. This change occurred close to the end of her young life, showing that the period between her migration and burial near Cambridge was tragically short.
Dr. Leggett, now at the University of Edinburgh, said, "She was quite a young girl when she moved, likely from part of southern Germany, close to the Alps, to a very flat part of England. She was probably quite unwell and she traveled a long way to somewhere completely unfamiliar—even the food was different. It must have been scary."
Tumblr media

Previous analysis indicated that the young woman had suffered from illness but her cause of death remains unknown. She was buried in a remarkable way—lying on a carved wooden bed wearing the cross, gold pins (also on display) and fine clothing.
Hers is one of only 18 bed burials ever uncovered in the U.K. Her ornate cross, combining gold and garnets (third quarter of the 7th century), is one of only five of its kind ever found in Britain and identifies her as one of England's earliest converts to Christianity and as a member of the aristocracy if not royalty. The best known example of such a cross was found in the coffin of St Cuthbert.
In 597 AD, the pope dispatched St Augustine to England on a mission to convert the pagan Anglo-Saxon kings, a process which continued for many decades.
Dr. Leggett said, "She must have known that she was important and she had to carry that on her shoulders. Her isotopic results match those of two other women who were similarly buried on beds in this period in Cambridgeshire."
Tumblr media
The rare 'bed burial' was excavated over a decade ago in the village of Trumpington, Cambridgeshire
"So it seems that she was part of an elite group of women who probably traveled from mainland Europe, most likely Germany, in the 7th century, but they remain a bit of a mystery. Were they political brides or perhaps brides of Christ? The fact that her diet changed once she arrived in England suggests that her lifestyle may have changed quite significantly."
Dr. Sam Lucy, a specialist in Anglo-Saxon burial from Newnham College, Cambridge, who published the Anglo-Saxon excavations at Trumpington, said, "These are intriguing findings, and it is wonderful to see this collaborative research adding to our knowledge of this period. Combining the new isotopic results with Emma Brownlee's research into European bed burials really does seem to suggest the movement of a small group of young elite women from a mountainous area in continental Europe to the Cambridge region in the third quarter of the seventh century."
"Southern Germany is a distinct possibility owing to the bed burial tradition known there. Given the increasingly certain association between bed burial, such cross-shaped jewelry, and early Anglo-Saxon Christianity, it is possible that their movement related to pan-European networks of elite women who were heavily involved in the early Church."
Dr. Jody Joy, the exhibition's co-curator, said, "The story of this young woman goes to the very heart of what our exhibition is all about—new research making visible the lives of people at pivotal moments of Cambridgeshire's history. MAA holds one of Britain's most important collections of Early Medieval archaeology and the Trumpington bed burial is so important. It looks like it still has much more to teach us."
In the exhibition, the Trumpington Cross will be displayed together with the delicate gold and garnet pins connected by a gold chain, which were found near the teenager's neck. These pins probably secured a long veil to an outer garment of fine linen. The pins would have caught the light as she moved. The burial bed's decorative headboard will also be exhibited.

'Beneath Our Feet' exhibition: Other highlights
MAA's exhibition explores the traces of where people have lived, worked and died for thousands of years in Cambridgeshire. It unveils a wide range of treasures never and rarely seen by the public including:
Pottery and textile finds from Must Farm "Britain's Pompeii";

p.s; you know the drill.. send requests!
(Y/N) wondered if a boy like him would ever like a girl like her.
It’s the soft touches against her skin, you see, that got her all worked up at work. She had a bad day at school, getting in a fight with her brother over not washing the dishes piling up in the sink, and there he was;
In his blue plaid shirt, his hair messily parted and that beautiful smile of his. He laughed at something the girl in front of him had said, and (Y/N) felt a pang of hurt across her heart.
“Go. Table 7.”
“What? I’m on my break!” She huffed, picking up her half-eaten sandwich and motioning it to the manager. “I have 10 minutes left.”
“We’re short of staff today,” he grunted, trying to balance the tray and an iPad on both hands. “Please.”
“Do I get more pay this month?”
“I’ll think about it,” he grumbled, and handed her the tray as she wrapped the sandwich again. “Oh, can you tell your brother that he’s fired? He didn’t come for his shift again today.”
“Not my problem,” she mumbled, taking the tray into her hands before proceeding to the diners. Her eyes swept over the many tables, and stopped at the seventh table from the front.
Fuck.
She swallowed her saliva, trying to contain her nervousness as she walked towards the table. She hoped against hope he wouldn’t notice her and continue to talk to whoever she was in front of him, but she wasn’t that lucky.
“Hey,” Rafe said softly, looking up to her. (Y/N) smiled weakly, not wanting to pull any attention towards her and hurried up to serve them.
“Hey, um-” the girl before him stopped her, and (Y/N) turned to look at her with her usual server smile. She hates it. “The pasta’s cold, can I get a new one?”
“Come on, Dee, it’s not that big of a deal,” Rafe said, but (Y/N) tried her hardest to maintain the smile. She couldn’t care less about her pasta, and she wouldn’t even bat an eye if an animal had crawled into her meal.
“I’ll reheat it for you,” she smiled fakely, picking up the plate before walking back towards the kitchen. Her smile completely disappeared when she pushed through the door separating the dining area and the kitchen, and proceeded to the cook.
“Another bitch?”
“Another bitch,” she sighed, and watched as the cook laughed and placed the pasta in the microwave. “You know, John, I really wish I don’t have to work in a restaurant.”
“It gives money, so I ain’t complaining much,” he mumbled, fiddling with the buttons on the stove. “But you’re still so young, mija. Don’t stress yourself too much. Where’s the brother?”
“JJ? I don’t know. He didn’t even come to school today. I wish he’s a better brother.”
“He is,” he shrugged, watching the timer counted down to signal the end of the reheating process. “He’s just ain’t showing it. They’ll appear.”
“What’ll appear?”
“The love.”
(Y/N) laughed, flatting her tray against the metal surface to let the cook placed the reheated pasta. “There’s no such thing as love, John. It’s all made up for little girls to believe.”
“Are you not a little girl?”
(Y/N) smiled, muttered a ‘thank you’ before proceeding to table number 7. She took a deep breath and forced herself to form the most politest smile ever, and placed the pasta in front of the girl, or Dee, or whatever Rafe was calling her.
“Thanks,” she muttered, not looking at her, but (Y/N) couldn’t help but noticed the side glance Rafe had given her during their brief meeting, but she didn’t want to dwell so much on that thought, not when she needed to make an amount of money to help put food for her family.
“You’re back late.”
“Sorry dad, I was working,” she sighed, placing her house keys on the table. “Have you eaten?”
Luke swatted his hands, motioning that he’s content. (Y/N) sighed a breath of relief, not feeling like making him anything and was just asking out of politeness.
“Your pants are a little bit tight today.”
(Y/N) stopped in her tracks and closed her eyes, the sudden wave of fear engulfing her. She bit her lips before turning to her father, “It’s the only pair I have left. The others are still in the laundry bag.”
“Hmm,” Luke hummed, his eyes still intently glued on the television screen. (Y/N) heard the soaring of a football game, and prayed it was his team that had won the match so that he wouldn’t be as cross.
“I’m going to my room, okay?”
“Wait-”
Her chest was heaving heavily now, being so afraid of her own father that she could feel her tears starting to form. She forced a weak smile, “Yeah?”
She didn’t realise how he had gotten up from his previous seat in front of the television, being so caught up with the warnings inside her head. He leaned onto her, smelling her scent, and tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear.
“You’re not out with any boys, are you?”
“No,” she whispered, and she gripped onto the hem of her work top. “Dad, can I please go?”
“Why are you so scared?” He continued, his pointer grazing against her ear to her cheeks. “I’m your dad, remember?”
“Dad?”
Luke pulled away from her and walked towards the television again when a certain blonde boy appeared from the front door, his eyebrows furrowed. JJ’s eyes followed his father’s movement, and ended at the sight of his sister.
The tightness in his body softened as he took a step closer to her, “You’re okay?”
“Yeah,” she mumbled, wiping the hot tears away from her face and giving him a weak smile. “I’m just going to stay in my room, okay?”
“Okay,” JJ said, watching as she walked slowly towards the back of the house. He glanced at his father, silent as ever, and muttered something under his breath before making his way to his room as well.
JJ Maybank hates Luke Maybank more than anything else in the world, but he also loves him more than anything else in the world. He had wished for nothing else other than his father actually being a father figure for (Y/N), if not him. He could see how much she needed Luke to become some kind of a guardian.
Every time there was a PTA meeting, it had been John to come and see her teachers. John had joked a lot of times before, saying how he’s going to adopt her one day, and when JJ was just 14, he used to get so overprotective of his sister that he would pull a face and gesture some kind of a rude word at him.
But if that's what it takes for her to finally be safe, he’s willing to lose her.
“Hey,” JJ knocked on her door softly, and he waited quietly to hear her shuffle of movements. He waited a few more seconds, and when heard the lock unlocking, forced himself a smile.
“Do you want to go to the bonfire party tonight?” He asked, raising his eyebrows to motion how serious he was. JJ never liked bringing (Y/N) to see the other pogues, and he had tried to assure himself that it was because of how she’s a year younger, but he couldn’t deny the real truth;
(Y/N) knew about his huge crush towards Kie, and the last time she hang out with them resulted into him having to tackle her down before she could say anything to the girl.
“Is Kie not coming or something?” (Y/N) made a face, but JJ could see the happy glint in her eyes.
“Can you drop that topic already?” He sighed, “Are you coming or not?”
“Um-” she glanced at something behind her back, sighed, and nodded slowly. “Okay. I guess I could use some time off schoolwork.”
“Don’t stress too much about school,” JJ shrugged, “You’re still 17.”
(Y/N) rolled her eyes, “Can you go, now? And oh, you’re fired by the way.”
“They love me, they’ll hire me again,” JJ shrugged, and gave her another comforting smile before making his way back to his room. “You know you can always tal-”
“No, I don’t know,” she groaned playfully, closing the door against his face as JJ laughed. His heart soared, and he swore he would do anything in his will to protect his sister from their father, heartbreak, or whatever.
. . .
“I missed you!” Kie exclaimed, pulling her into a hug and giving her a kiss on her cheeks. “God, you’re taller than me now.”
(Y/N) glanced at her brother, to which he was motioning his thumb against his neck, trying to tell her that he would kill her if she says anything to the girl. (Y/N) laughed, “I missed you too, Kie.”
(Y/N) situated herself beside Pope, watching as he flicked through his Chemistry text book, and scribbled something a note on one of the pages.
“Isotopes has the same number of protons but different number of neutrons,” (Y/N) mumbled, pointing to false knowledge he’ve written. Pope looked at her, amazed, and let out the loudest laugh ever that JJ had to scream from the front for him to shut up.
“Shit, (Y/N),” he continued to laugh, erasing his mistake and jotting down the correct information. “And you’re younger. Do you hear that JJ?”
“What?” JJ yelled back, his eyes focusing on the road.
Maybe you should be as clever as your sister,” Pope laughed, and Kie gave him a high-five from the front seat. He turned to look at her again, “Where’d you learn that?”
“JJ’s text book.”
Pope laughed, his head shaking at the thought of JJ sleeping while his sister sneaked into his room to steal his text book. He finally understood the reason why he was always in detention for not bringing his book.
“Stay close, and don’t wander away,” JJ warned, staring straight into her eyes. She laughed at his tone, but her smile disappeared when he pulled her again.
“I mean it, (Y/N).”
“Are you seriously turning into dad, now?”
“Don’t mention his name,” he sighed, fixing his hair and walking before him with his friends. “Just stay close, okay?”
(Y/N) rolled her eyes, already seeing how boring her night was going to be; trying to understand the inside jokes between JJ and his friends, not being allowed to drink any alcohol and is going to be constantly asked to fix her ribbed top so not much of her skin is exposed.
She sighed, following her brother, but as soon as they got further away she felt the need to just hang out, maybe searching for her friends and getting a drink for herself. She was never a fan of alcohol, so JJ really didn’t have to worry about her getting drunk.
“You’re (Y/N), right?”
(Y/N) looked up to a pair of gorgeous green eyes, and she felt her heart sink. She looked away, not expecting her best friend’s boyfriend, and sighed.
“What do you need, Carter? I’m looking for Emily too.”
“Oh, she’s not coming,” he shrugged, standing beside her. She felt the sudden warmth and scooted further, not wanting to allow any attention towards her. “Something about a stomach ache.”
“Why aren’t you resting with her?” She pulled a look, crossing her arms. She didn’t want to talk to him or even look at him, but he didn’t seem to get that note.
“And pass up this year’s bonfire party? Nah,” he sipped on his red cup, and leaned against her. She could feel his lips beside her ear now, “Wanna get a drink?”
“I don’t drink.”
“Come on,” he expressed, throwing his arms up into the air in fake exasperation. “It’s a party. You cannot enjoy a party without being drunk.”
“Hm,” she shrugged, still not interested. She thought about what else she could say to get him away from her. “Worth trying, I guess.”
“You are damn impossible to please, Maybank,” Carter laughed, showing his pearly white teeth. (Y/N) smiled at this, taking the statement into a compliment, and made to walk away. He grabbed her wrist before she could get away, and she sighed in annoyance.
“One drink,” he smiled. “And I’ll leave you alone.”
(Y/N) thought about this, long and hard, and the sudden thought of wanting to be free for once entered her mind. She gave him a small nod.
“One drink.”
“One drink,” he confirmed, and pulled her to the drinks section. (Y/N) waited for him to get her a drink, her eyes swarming over the sea of people dancing, some talking, some already kissing and some just standing. This was her third bonfire party in Obx, and the party didn’t get any boring.
“Here you go,” Carter appeared, placing the red cup into her hands. “Let’s chug it down together. Are you ready? 1, 2, 3!”
(Y/N) scrunched up her face at the strong taste of vodka, feeling her throat burning. It felt good though, especially when you are in need to forget some hesvy things in your mind.
“What do you say?” Carter smiled, “Want more?”
“I’ll try more,” she laughed, giving him the cup as he muttered ‘I told you so’ and came back with another cup. They counted together again, and (Y/N) never felt better after drinking an intoxicating drink.
She didn’t remember why she never liked alcohol, but at that moment, she felt like drinking her money and family issues away. She didn’t even realise when Carter had placed his arms around her, telling her humourless jokes that she laughed at anyways.
“Wanna go to my car?”
“Huh?” She looked at him, half-smiling and half-frowning. She was at her 7th cup now, but being a lightweight person, she felt like she was on her 30th cup. “What for?”
“Driving around town,” he smiled, standing up and offering his hand. “Wanna drive around with me?”
“Just you?” She mumbled, closing her eyes. She could feel his arms around her, trying to help her walk, but she didn’t have enough energy to push him away. If anything, she was glad he had brought her away from the loud music that made her dizzy.
“Where’s the car?” (Y/N) whined, feeling her arms hurting from the rough grip by Carter. She could hear the crunch of twigs under her feet, and when she finally had an ounce of power to see her surroundings, she saw the empty car park near the beach.
“Carter, I don’t feel so good,” she said, trying to push him away. The grip around her tightened, and she had never felt so panicked as she was at that time. She tried to calm down, still looking for anyone who can help her, but the parking lot was deserted.
“Carter, I can walk,” she tried again, but he didn’t let go. She understood the whole situation clearly now, and wished she had stayed with JJ and his friends instead of wandering around by herself.
“Hey, hey, hey.”
Carter stopped walking, cursing while he turned to look at the voice behind him. (Y/N) grunted, feeling her arms bruising, and she couldn’t even glance up to see who it was that saved her. She could feel her eyesight getting darker as she leaned on Carter for some type of balance.
“Where are you going?”
“None of your business,” Carter groaned, still holding her by his side. “Don’t you have anything to do? Like golf, or something.”
“Nah,” the voice replied, and (Y/N) perked up at the way his voice sounded. It was all so familiar to her. . .
“Look, Cameron, just go, okay? I’m not in your business, so stay out of mine,” Carter huffed, walking backwards slowly. “And she’s with me, right, (Y/N), you’re with me?”
“Let her go, man,” Rafe sighed, “I’m making it easy for you. Let her go.”
“Come on, I’m not letting you take her with you,” he shrugged, “Rafe. I swear. You don’t want to mess with me.”
“Aren’t you a little bit too old for her?” Rafe raised a brow, “Aren’t you my age, or something?”
“Fuck!” Carter yelled, and (Y/N) gasped from the sudden pain coursing through her veins at the jerk. “Go and fuck off.”
“You’re not leaving me a choice, man,” Rafe said, and before anyone could process, Carter was down to the ground, yelling at Rafe for him to stop as he kept throwing punches after punches, his forehead creasing and his knuckles ripping.
(Y/N) groaned from the ground, unable to get up, and she swore he had drugged her. She was never this weak, not even when she was sick, and she hated how she couldn’t even lift a finger.
“Don’t fucking touch her again!” Rafe yelled, spitting on the groaning boy as he grunted against the pain, his knuckles all bruised up and bloody.
“Hey, you’re okay?” Rafe asked, helping her to her feet. (Y/N) nodded, still so weak, and wrapped her hands around his arms as he watched her limped.
“You know what? Let me carry you,” he sighed, looking at the previous space where he had had a fight with Carter. He was nowhere to be seen now, and Rafe didn’t think he could fight him off for the second time, not when he’s tired.
“I can walk,” she mumbled, trying to push him off, but even a second after he let her go she tripped onto the road, and grunted at her burning knees. “My knees, oh my god, I’m in so much pain!”
“Let me carry you,” he sighed again, squatting to her level. She looked so sad, pouting her lips and her eyebrows all scrunched down. She shook her head when he tried to hold her, crossing her arms.
“(Y/N), let me carry you.”
“I don’t even know you!” She spat, her eyes glassy and her cheeks red. Rafe didn’t know she would be like this when she was drunk, but he couldn’t deny the amusement he was feeling.
“Of course you know me,” he tried again, slowly wrapping his fingers around her wrist. “It’s Rafe.”
“I don’t know any Rafe.”
“It’s Rafael Cameron,” Rafe rolled his eyes, cringing at the sound of his full name. He never liked the name, saying how it made him look like some type of a knight in 1823, but it was one of the only memories left of his real mother.
“I know a Rafael,” she nodded. “But he don’t look like you.”
“(Y/N), let’s just go before some creep decides to kidnap you,” he pulled her up, to which she obliged at the sound of ‘kidnapping’. “I’ll send you to your house, okay?”
“No!” She pulled him close, hugging him tightly that he was too stunned to react. His arms weren’t even touching her, stopping midway, and he only hugged her back when she cried.
“He’s gonna be mad at me,” she whimpered, tugging on his collar. “And he’s going to beat me up and-”
“Wait, wait, who?” He pulled her off, watching as she looked at him with those eyes again. Rafe furrowed his eyebrows, his chest heaving. “Does JJ do-”
“Not JJ,” she cried, and pulled him towards a random car. “Can I please just stay with you until the next morning? Please.”
“Are you sure?” Rafe looked around, and he thought about Dee who was waiting for him at the party. He shook his head at the thought, not wanting to put her first. “We can stay somewhere else?”
(Y/N) nodded frantically, and Rafe thought about the truth behind all of her words. She was never this miserable, looking all happy when he sees her at the restaurant, taking orders with that goddamn smile and laughing at the unfunny jokes old men would give her just for some tips.
Without him knowing, the restaurant by the bay became one of his top favourite restaurants, but it wasn’t because of the food. Rafe never really liked their steaks, always preferring the one closer to the country club, but he was willing to put aside his cravings for that one certain waitress.
“Okay,” he nodded, leading her to the jeep parked a few cars away. She looked so tired, her hair messily tucked behind her ears, her makeup smudged, and Rafe felt a sudden wave of relief for being there in the parking lot to grab his phone in the car.
The drive was silent, and Rafe even thought that she had gone to sleep. When he looked at her from the corners of his eyes, he was surprised to see her silently staring at the dark view outside, unmoving.
He parked outside of the hotel he usually goes to when he’s in need for some alone time, checking the time on his phone before helping her out. She didn’t say a word to him, keeping her head down, only inching closer when they were on their way up to their room.
(Y/N) never been to a fancy hotel like this, only staying in a small hotel in Spain with her aunt 4 summers ago, so she was quite bewildered when she looked around the room. She bit her lips, staring at the one queen bed, and turned to look at him.
“Are we sharing a bed?”
“Oh, no, we don’t have to,” Rafe quickly said, trying to calm her down. “I think you should sleep it off. I’ll stay on the sofa.”
“Okay, thanks.”
But she couldn’t close her eyes. Every time she tried to sleep it off, she would think about Luke with his hands around her face, forcing her to look up to his eyes and whispering sweet-nothings into her ear. JJ never knew about this, and (Y/N) never wanted to tell him out of fear and disappointment, so she had been keeping the secret for a really long time.
“Rafe?”
“Hmm?”
“Thanks for bringing me here.”
“It’s nothing,” he huffed, and (Y/N) heard him shift. The sound of a pillow hitting the floor blared throughout the dark room, and (Y/N) felt bad about letting him sleep on the sofa, especially when he was the one who had brought her to the hotel.
“You can stay in the bed with me.”
“Really? I can’t do that.”
“Why?” She asked, because she really didn’t mind sharing a bed with Rafe Cameron. It wasn’t like she was going to attack him.
“Just because.”
“Is it because you don’t like me?” She asked, and she heard an amused laugh coming from the sofa.
“Trust me, you’re wrong on that one,” he replied simply, and (Y/N) had to think of what he said again.
Wrong?
“Is it because I’m a minor?”
“We’re only 2 years apart.”
“So what’s the problem?” She pressed, because she couldn’t understand why he couldn’t just sleep on the same bed as her. They didn’t have to be all pushed up to each other. . .
“Because,” he sighed, “I’m scared.”
“Of what?”
“Of stuff.”
“Rafe, I don’t understand,” she closed her eyes, her mind woozy from the back and forth fight with the boy.
Rafe sighed again, licking his lips before standing up from the sofa. “Okay, but I’m not a creep, okay?”
“So it is because I’m a minor,” she nodded to herself, and she felt a sudden wave of disappointment. If only she was a year older.
“Whatever,” he breathed, trying to get the best position under the covers. He felt her fingers and quickly pulled his hand away, his heart beating.
“You’re weird.”
“I just said I’m scared,” he shrugged, and finally settled comfortably. He felt so much better now, not having to pull his legs together and crossed his arms just to fit on the sofa.
“What if I do want you to sleep with me on the bed?”
“Shut up,” he groaned.
“No, Rafe, what if I do want you-”
“Shut up before I make you.”
(Y/N)’s eyes went wide, and she thought of the many times she had repeated this exact line in a movie and how she had romanticised her own scenario to that line. She never thought of Rafe Cameron as the protagonist, only imagining Timotheé Chalamet and no one else.
“You’re still drunk, okay?” He suddenly said, and (Y/N) bit her lips at his exasperated tone. “I don’t want to take advantage of you. I’m not Carter.”
“Okay,” she said softly, “I didn’t ask for you to fuck me, though.”
“Really? You’re begging for it right now.”
“I just want you to get comfortable.”
“Hm.”
“You’re full of yourself.”
“Yeah? You should see the eyes you give me at the restaurant,” he replied simply, and he could feel himself thinking of her slightly narrowed eyes, looking straight at him.
He shifted his position, placing a pillow against his front.
“Why didn’t you act on it?”
“Oh god, we’re still on this?” He grunted, “Go to sleep.”
“Why wouldn’t you want to fuck me?”
“Jesus Christ,” he muttered, and before she could think about anything else to say to him next, he had pulled her shoulders so that she could look at him.
She squinted against the darkness, using the moonlight as a source of light to stare into his beautiful blue orbs.
“I would fuck you, but I won’t do it when you’re drunk.”
“I’m not drunk.”
“You are, because-” he grazed his thumb against her bottom lip, and she had to hold her breath. “You’re not this open to me when you’re sober.”
“Isn’t it more fun, though? To fuck when you’re drunk?”
“I’d only do that if you’re my girlfriend.”
“So can I be your girlfriend?”
“I’ll think about it tomorrow,” he smiled, and pushed her back to face the ceiling. “Now sleep.”
“What if I want to become your girlfriend now?”
“JJ will kill me.”
“Can you kill him back?”
“(Y/N),” Rafe sighed, being so tired of going back and worth with her on this. Of course he wanted to touch her, more than anything else in the world, but he couldn’t do it when she was in a state like this. “Go to sleep.”
“Okay.”
“Okay. Good girl.”
“Okay.”
He waited a few more minutes, ready to answer any remarks, but what came after was only her soft snores. He sighed in relief, leaning on his arms as he stared at her. He watched as her chest heaved peacefully, feeling all kinds of emotions at once, and he finally realised the truth;
This time he wasn’t playing; Rafe Cameron would never bring a girl to a fancy hotel for nothing other than sex, but here he was; refusing her teasings, and keeping her safe. It finally hit him; he would bring (Y/N) anywhere if that’s the only way to keep her smile.
He shut his eyes, making a mental note to make fun of her drunk state in the morning.

Marvel deaths in the future
1. BUCKY BARNES - as steve rogers is not here anymore , theres very less chances of bucky’s survival .[ moreover he shots himself in grief due to nakajuma death (in the comics) as we have seen in TFATWS episode 1]
Tumblr media
He was eventually replaced with a heroine named Golden Girl and was basically forgotten about until Cap's thawing in Avengers #4, where it was revealed that Bucky had died in a airplane explosion. well in TFATWS he is happy finally so i think he might give up every sort of fighting and that might end  his story’s  arc.
NOTE THESE ARE ONLY  possibilities
 2. SPIDERMAN [ tom hollland]- Last summer, Marvel fans were horrified to hear that talks had broken down between Disney and Sony, and Spider-Man would be departing from the MCU on a big cliffhanger. Fortunately, after Tom Holland drunkenly called the companies’ CEOs, the negotiations got back on track and the MCU incarnation of Spidey will return to muLast summer, Marvel fans were horrified to hear that talks had broken down between Disney and Sony, and Spider-Man would be departing from the MCU on a big cliffhanger. Fortunately, after Tom Holland drunkenly called the companies’ CEOs, the negotiations got back on track and the MCU incarnation of Spidey will return to multiplexes. He’ll appear in another solo movie to wrap up his standalone trilogy, and he’ll also have a role in another MCU movie that’s yet to be announced. To get Spidey out of the MCU and into the Sony-verse full-time, he could be killed off in that mysterious second movie.ltiplexes.He’ll appear in another solo movie to wrap up his standalone trilogy, and he’ll also have a role in another MCU movie that’s yet to be announced. To get Spidey out of the MCU and into the Sony-verse full-time, he could be killed off in that mysterious second movie.
3. WANDA - she might die fighting villians in the next doctor strange movie in comics MAGNETO kills her . At the end of Marvel's X-Men: The Trial of Magneto No. 2 (of 5), Magneto confessed to killing Wanda Maximoff.
Tumblr media
4.THOR - he will be replaced by jane foster in THOR - LOVE AND THUNDER but we cant talk how he ends up ..... He has actually died several times in comics continuity, and several figures have done him in. so the God of Thunder might die at the end of Love and Thunder.
5. HANK PYM -   it’s possible that Hank won’t survive much longer. A future Ant-Man movie (though not necessarily Ant-Man 3) could have a heartfelt funeral scene.
6.HAWKEYE-The primary goal of Avengers: Endgame was to mark the end of the saga that started with the assembling of the six core Avengers in their initial 2012 team-up. However, only half of those six Avengers wrapped up their arcs in the movie. Clint Barton is set to train his successor, Kate Bishop, in the upcoming Hawkeye series on Disney+, with Hailee Steinfeld being rumored for the role (and based on her dramatically resonant turn in the Coens’ True Grit remake, that would be awesome).Clint could retire to a life as a farmer with his wife and kids, but that would that would be the easy way out. The tough ending would be to gruesomely kill him off as he hands the torch to Kate.ALSO YELENA IS COING FOR HIM ......
Tumblr media
7.VISION-Technically, Vision already had an emotionally charged death scene when Thanos ripped the Mind Stone out of his head. However, he’s about to be brought back somehow in WandaVision. One fan theory is that a grieving Scarlet Witch will warp reality to resurrect him and end up screwing up the universe as a result. This could lead to some dire consequences – consequences that will require the intervention of Doctor Strange and the Masters of the Mystic Arts – that send Vision to another early grave.
8.MICHELE JONES [ MJ]-  Mary Jane Watson-Parker was married to Peter Parker, but died of radiation poisoning as a result of constant exposure to the radioactive isotopes in his blood, her last word to him being "Go..." when he was sitting in the window of her hospital room. she does not end up like GWEN but cant say anything in this multiuverse
Tumblr media
These my possibilites for the upcoming deaths in mcu

The Hofstadter Isotope — 2.20
Summary: Leonard is devastated when the geeky sales clerk in a comic book store hits on Penny. Even worse, she doesn't mind.
1.) I like Anything Can Happen Thursday, and I want to implement it in my own life when I’m allowed to go outside again (If for some reason you are reading this in the future, I am writing this during the covid 19 shutdown, I am not under house arrest). Also, I think there’s a lot of fun there, and they should have made more episodes about it. Maybe I need to write a series of stories of that.
2.) I didn’t realize it was this late in the series before Stuart showed up. They mention the comic book store a fair amount, but we haven’t seen it until now.
3.) Stuart is much more smooth here. Though, Regina could totally hook up with Penny since she’s drawn her way more times. 😜
4.) I do like that Sheldon points out the good in Stuart and why Penny might prefer him, but when it comes to Amy later, Stuart is a loser who could never be good enough for her.
5.) I cannot believe that Howard and Leonard are married. Like, seriously. That is the true Saturnalia miracle.
6.) I don’t love Raj hooking up with the girl at the end of this episode. I’m fat too, but I’m not desperate. Most of us aren’t.

Mystery of Moose code Part 3
DACOREY and the crew take a deep breath and look around, “All okay?” he asks.
J. Moffit confirms, “All good here, Sir!”
Cecil exclaims, “Oh! What a ride!” and then moans, “Oh No! I am fine but the secret book of Moose code is gone!”
He rushes around the ship in search of the book but has no luck. “It must have fallen out when you performed that 360-degree turn to avoid the last laser beam.”
“Don’t worry!” says Dacorey, “I am sure we will recover it. Let’s go get my brother.”
Cecil looks worried and says, “I hope we do. It might be our best bargaining chip.”
The team launches its ground assault vehicle to navigate the rest of the trip.
A few miles down the road, Cecil spots something on the road.
“Pull over,” he screams.
Cecil jumps out of the vehicle and runs toward the side of the road.
“Oh no!” He screams, “It's the cover of the secret book, just the cover. The rest of the book must be scattered all over this planet. We are doomed.”
DACOREY tells Cecil to get back in the vehicle as he knows it is more important than ever to save DOODYDOO.
Back At the farm
“Whew!” says Farmer Kellie as she wipes her brow, “That was a close one. Gumpy, keep your eyes on the skies, and let me know if you see any more of those ships. The best way to save our eggs is to keep those ships off the Earth.
“I am going to take a break and play my favorite game ‘Emoki’s Sudoku Party.’ Let me know if you see anything else.”
Right then, Gumpy spots a vehicle over the horizon, a sleek, almost-metallic, and out of this world vehicle. Gumpy yells, “Look yonder, I see a strange vehicle approaching.” Kellie, Bry, Calvin, Bean, and Gumpy all grab their laser guns.
“Bring the prisoner up from the basement, he may prove very useful to us!” ordered Kellie.
Bry and Calvin run downstairs where Herbie is vigilantly guarding DOODYDOO. Bry and Calvin grab DOODYDOO and lead him up the stairs. DOODYDOO squints as the light hits his eyes. He pets Herbie and gives him a hand signal. Herbie gives one back and leads the group towards farmer Kellie.
In the distance, DOODYDOO sees his brother DACOREY's land assault vehicle and feels a rush of excitement roll over him.
As the team approaches, DACOREY yells to the crew, “Man your battle stations. It’s gonna get real.”
Kellie instructs the crew to hold their fire. They wait patiently to see DACOREY’s reaction.
DOODYDOO is brought to the front of the farm and Kellie un-cuffs him. DOODYDOO rubs his wrist and then lifts his hand to wave at DACOREY.
DACOREY tells his team to stand down and comes out of the ship and says, “Khsiflo fos slos sosi ridkfos tomaoiy.”
DOODYDOO looks at Herbie and makes a hand signal. Herbie reacts and jumps into Kellie’s arms and licks her face and whines. Kellie is perplexed but trusts Herbie and lets DOODYDOO approach DACOREY.
Kellie says, “Tell him that we don’t want a war but unless he gives back my eggs, we have no choice.”
DOODYDOO looks at Kellie and smiles, he then looks at DACOREY and says, “Fliprp adooba deddle ya.” which loosely translates to, “I have no idea what she is saying.”
DACOREY replies with, “Ipsifloppi runhaousre exkilopsaidu,” which means, “Are they treating you well?”
DOODYDOO looks at DACOREY and says, “Jaoeiscdis kaaowssdyd awowwssksso sos sokwod wsososwwlwlffg aqwksdpiffkffffovsdmdk d d ffreockppppdpwwpd, spwwwpwpwwpwpddw,” which means, “The 4-legged one has been very kind.”
Herbie jumps out of Kellie's arms and runs up to DOODYDOO.
DACOREY seems happy and reaches for Herbie.
Kellie sees DOODYDOO moving towards Herbie and assumes he is trying to escape. “Blast them,” she yells.
The gang draws their weapons and DOODYDOO and DACOREY jump behind their ground assault vehicle. The laser beams bounce off the vehicle and DOODYDOO and DACOREY realize that this is the best time to escape.
Herbie runs towards Kellie and barks frantically.
DOODYDOO looks at DACOREY and says, “Rinderipso lopaloansa detopksi,” which means, “What did I say?”
DOODYDOO, DACOREY, and the rest of the team drive off down the road.
Kellie tells Calvin to bring around his egg collecting jeep. Calvin does as he is told and the gang mounts up to rush after the Polar bears.
As the gang flies down the road with Calvin driving, Kellie mounting the machine gun, and Berty and Gerty and Herbie hanging on for dear life, they hear a series of beeps and dashes. Kellie looks at Calvin and says, “This must be what the girls were talking about.”
Herbie is still barking frantically.
Kellie says, “That dog must have lost his mind.”
From his space truck, DACOREY tells DOODYDOO to send a message to the ships waiting in the atmosphere. DOODYDOO grabs his moose code machine and sends out this message:
“Negotiations failed …... prepare for an attack!”
DOODYDOO also sends the coordinates of their location and the commander orders ground assault vehicles to meet them here.
Kellie and Calvin look up at the sky and see thousands of spaceships flying around. As they stare in amazement, they see hundreds of ground assault vehicles dropping down. “Ummm… Calvin!” stutters Kellie, “It might be time to turn around!”
Calvin slams on the breaks of the vehicle. He then turns the wheel hard, puts his foot back on the gas, and squeals in the other direction. As they drive along, they hear thousands of voices saying, “Daosidlei asloewdj aidijwwoooo.”
They look at each other and then back at the road. Kellis says, “We have to get back to the farm. I have a secret weapon to take care of this.”
Kellie takes out her laser gun and points it at the tires of the polar bears' vehicles, “Maybe I can slow them down. Herbie, shoot the tires!”
Herbie looks worried but realizes they are in danger.
Kellie and Herbie shoot the tires of the vehicles and the tires blow up. “That’s great to know,” she says, “At least we know that we can slow them down.”
Calvin dodges back and forth while Kellie and Herbie shoot at the vehicles. “Oh no! They are shooting back,” she yells. “Turn left, turn right, slow down, speed up …...dodge.” Just then Calvin reaches the farm and drives into the barn. Kellie jumps out and loads up the laser machine gun.
The bears enter the barn and Kellie and Herbie start shooting..... ‘pew pew pew!’ We hear the lasers firing fast and the polar bears' vehicles start blowing up. “Rakjdiojidjadsio,” yells DOODYDOO which means, “Retreat!” The polar bears drive off and out of the farm.
As they drive off, Cecil makes eye contact with Herbie who takes his paw and repeatedly moves it in a series of gestures. Cecil smiles and gestures back.
Kellie looks at Herbie and asks, “What is happening? Are you in shock or something?”
Herbie jumps into her arms and looks at her with his big brown eyes. I wish I could speak, he thinks. I have so much to tell you.
Kellie and the gang give each other high fives and sit down to take a break. Kellie says, “Did you see all of those spaceships? We have to be ready!” she exclaims. “It won't be long and they will be back.” She pets Herbie and says, “I wish you could talk buddy. I feel like you have a lot to say.”
Once the bears feel that they are safely away from the farm, they stop to regroup. “We lost 5 trucks Sir, and 15 comrades,” says first mate C.T.
DACOREY says, “Message back to Pengmonium and tell battalion commanders, Rue, Jack-Jack, Pax, Griff, Beck, Fo-Fa, and Fe-Fe to be ready.”
DOODYDOO says, “I have found a way to communicate with the 4-legged one. He knows the ancient sign language of Cheemoki. I told him he must find a way to get the Earthlings to understand our code. Of course, he has as much trouble as we do in attempting to communicate with them.”
DACOREY asks, “When did you learn Cheemoki?”
“At summer camp,” replies DOODYDOO.
Cecil chimes in and says, “If we can find a way to get back to him, you can tell him the book of Moose code has been lost and if he can find it, he can take it to the Earthlings and we can let them know that we don’t want war. We only want to feed our people.”
DOODYDOO thinks for a minute and says, “Yes, it could be done. DACOREY! We need a diversion if we can keep the Earthling's attention. I can sneak back to the farm and communicate with the 4-legged one.”
DACOREY agrees and commands Commander Rue to be at the ready. Rue is a llamacorn who has arisen in the ranks of the Boojabaunga Air Force. Starting as a small llamacorn, she learned to fly in the valleys of Llamacornium. After ten years in the Royal Llamcornium Air Force, she was promoted to the official
Boojabaunga Air Force and made a commander. “We will send waves of ships over the farms and while the farmer and her friends are attacking, you can slip in and find the 4-legged one.” Instructs Dacorey.
DOODYDOO agrees, and the plan is put into place.
Meanwhile, back on the farm, Kellie and the gang are cleaning up from the skirmish. Bry discovers a very weird coin. Upon further inspection, he thinks it might have come from the polar bears. He gives it to Bean for further examination who takes it to her lab for experimentation.
Bean is a master of all the elements in the universe. She was trained at Boojabaunga University by Doc Monkeystein and excelled in Science and Math. She takes the coin and examines it carefully. From the markings, she could tell it is from the Boojabuanga galaxy - a distant galaxy inhabited by Emokis. She takes samples of the dirt she finds, runs it through her spectrometer, and finds regular dirt and a very odd signature that she has never seen before.
She runs the element through a series of tests including a vacuum. She then uses the formula:
Average atomic mass = ∑ (relative abundance x mass of isotope)
Her conclusion is an atomic mass of 256.004 and declares this element as Dabaloonium, named after the markings she found on the coin.
Her newfound discovery sparks the interest of many in the scientific community and is especially noticed by Dr. Monkeystien, her former mentor, who is the foremost authority of all things in Boojabaunga.
Dr. Monkeystein reaches out to Bean and tells her that Dabaloonium is one of the rarest elements in the universe and one Dabaloony is equal to 1 Million Monkey Dollars. He informs her that he will buy any Dabaloonies that the gang retrieves from the polar bears.
Bean shares this with the gang. Bry decides that this is a perfect way for Farmer Kellie to fund her growing business and to make up for all the losses she has taken from the polar bears.
The polar bears have set up an outpost thirty miles West of Kellie’s farm and are coordinating a series of attacks from the air. DACOREY releases the first wave led by RUE and her squad. RUE takes the lead and the squadron flies towards the farm in a classic V formation. RUE is the
perfect llamacorn for the job. “Stay close comrades,” radios RUE. “This farmer and her chickens are sharpshooters and these laser canons will take you down fast.”

Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur #25 Review
spoilers spoilers spoilers spoilers spoilers spoilers spoilers spoilers spoilers
The Fantastic Three story-arc starts here, from the creative team of Brendan Montclare, Natacha Bustos and Tamra Bonvillain.  Quick recap and review following the jump.
The tale starts off in Lunella’s underground laboratory where The Thing (Ben Grimm) and Human Torch (Johnny Storm) have brought Lunella some of the many boxes of storage that had previously been collecting dust in the old Baxter Building.  The boxes are loaded up mostly with memorabilia, but also a number of Reed Richards’ old intentions and Ben and Johnny thought that a fellow big-brain like Lunella might find some use for it.
Tumblr media
While Ben and Johnny bicker and banter with each other, Lunella discovers an old H.E.R.B.I.E. unit and accidentally switches it on.  The robot comes to life some time later and is likely to show back up some time down the line.
Tumblr media
Lunella takes Ben and Johnny up to her listening outpost on the roof of her apartment building.  There she explains that she has been monitoring different frequencies across the cosmos and multiverse in search of some sign of Reed Richards.  She has been dedicated to finding Reed, Sue and the kids not only because the world needs them, but also for her own reasons.  As the current smartest person in the world, Lunella is left feeling quite lonely and pines for the chance to meet and talk with the former smartest person in the world.
Tumblr media
As much as Ben and Johnny appreciate her efforts, they see Lunella’s search for Reed, Sue and the kids as being in vain.  It’s still not entirely clear what Ben and Johnny know about their family’s disappearance; what exactly they recall from the conclusion of the Secret Wars event.  Do they know that Reed and the others remained behind to help the Molecule Man recreate the multiverse, or do Ben and Johnny simply believe them to have died?  In either case, neither seem to feel Lunella has much of a chance of reaching Reed and the others.
Elsewhere, a mysterious set of forces has been thieving various items as part of some sort of sinister scheme.  An experimental isotope of anti-yellow quarks is stolen, as is a large cache of gold, barrels of toxic waste and a huge amount of electricity.  To what end these items have been pilfered and who or what is behind the thefts remains to be seen.  The thief or thieves remains just out of the panel; yet what we do see of them bears a good deal of resemblance to the Fantastic Four (one is invisible, another has massive strength, another appears to have stretching powers, while the fourth seems to be composed of fire).
Tumblr media
Back at school, Lunella offers up a bunch of the old Fantastic Four comic books to Eduardo, who is very excited to receive them.  Eduardo and Zoe are Lunella’s friends, but not really the kind of friends that she can feel she can talk to, whom she can relate to on a deeper level.
Lunella’s parents come to pick her up after school and are met their by Ben and Johnny.  There is something Ben and Johnny need Lunella’s help with, but Mr. and Mrs. Lafayette want nothing to do with it.  They’re done with Lunella’s dangerous super hero adventures and want her to come home.  Johnny is crestfallen that Lunella’s parents barely even remember the Fantastic Four.   No one bothers to ask Lunella whom she would prefer to accompany.
Tumblr media
This whole argument over who Lunella is going to go with is interrupted by The Silver Surfer, who arrives above the school to deliver a dire message.  Ben and Johnny both assume The Surfer’s message is for them, but it is actually meant for Lunella.
Tumblr media
Ben and Johnny don’t take tio kindly to the matter and before you know it, yet another fight breaks out between The Thing, The Torch and The Surfer.  A fight that only comes to an end when Lunella threatens to obliterate them all with her latest invention.
Tumblr media
This stops them all in their tracks, whereupon Lunella reveals that her latest innovation is actually just her leftover sandwich from lunch.  Still, it sufficed in getting the trio to quit fighting and The Surfer is finally able to deliver his warning.  The Surfer no longer requires words to relay this warning, all that is needed is a mere gesture.  He points to the horizon where the enormous figure of Galactus looms, peering out over the Lower East Side.
Lunella is of two minds in considering the world-ending threat that Galactus represents.  On the one hand she is daunted over the prospect of having to face this threat without her trusty pal, Devil Dinosaur.  On the other hand, however, she also feels solace that if the world is to come to an end at least Devil D will be safe back in his home dimension.
Tumblr media
And it is here that the issue comes to an end with he promise of continuation in the next installment.
My ability to offer up at least the semblance of an unbiased review for this issue is all but entirely undermined by the fact that I am a huge Fantastic Four fan and so very much miss getting to read their adventures on a monthly basis.  And if missing the FF is a kind of itch, then this issue of Moon G and Devil D definitely helped to scratch it.  It is such a treat to get to see Ben and Johnny bickering again… and Lunella worked out great acting in the dual roles of Sue and Reed.  This Fantastic Three might not be quite as good as The Fantastic Four, but it is an excellent consolation prize.  Although what it most achieved was to remind me just how much I miss the FF.

It seems a good bet that The Galactus who appears at the end may not be the real Galactus.  Instead of wearing his traditional mauve and blue armor, this Galactus is donned in armor of gray and gold.  My guess is this being may actually be an artificial Galactus composed of those various items that were shown as being stolen earlier in the issue.  Yet who might be behind this all?  Is it some evil version of the Fantastic Four from another dimension?  Is it the U-Foes?  Some other dastardly threat?  Whatever the case, I’m looking forward to finding out.
Although it is a minor complaint, I was a little confused by Lunella’s motivations for searching out the missing members of The FF.  Clearly Lunella is very much missing Devil Dinosaur and I can get that she is longing to be able to talk with someone on the same intellectual level as herself, but this thematic was already very well addressed in the ‘World’s Smartest’ story-arc and it feels a touch like returning to the same well.  Besides, Lunella could have just taken to searching out Reed, Sue and the kids simply because it is a challenge worthy of her intellectual prowess.   It was nice to see Lunella’s mom and dad again, although I continue to wish we could see further development of their characters.  And where are the sentient robot duplicates Lunella made to cover for her when she was off rescuing Illa the Girl Moon?  Again, these are the kind of complaints that are merely a product of my having become so invested in Lunella and this comic.  These are good complaints… the kind of complaints I never have for comics I don’t really care about.  (but seriously, Mr. and Mrs. Lafayette need some more screen time…)
There’s also a neat little side-joke for longtime Fantastic Four fans.  Johnny shows contempt for the little robotic H.E.R.B.I.E. unit that Lunella uncovers and Ben jokes that Johnny doesn’t like him because he’s jealous of the time that H.E.R.B.I.E. had replaced him.
Tumblr media
What Ben is referring to here is actually took place in a cartoon.  The first Fantastic Four cartoon was produced in 1967 by Hana Barbara and was actually pretty terrific, with character designs by Alex Toth and stories derived from he comics themselves.
Tumblr media
A second, more ‘kid-friendly’ series was produced in 1978 by DePatie-Freleng Enterprises.  At the time Hana Barbara still owned the IP rights for The Human Torch so this new cartoon opted to replace him with HERBIE, an annoying Robot who was meant to be cute but was actually quite grating.
Tumblr media
This cartoon was just terrible and hating HERBIE is pretty much a badge of honor among big time FF fans.
Anyways…. It is awesome to get to see Natacha Bustos illustrate The Thing and Human Torch.  The Kirby-esque elements of her style are highlighted, but the over-all look remains very much her own.  I have become such a huge fan of her and just love the way she draws The Thing and The Torch; her knack for fun and animated facial expression perfectly capture the playful banter between Ben and Johnny as well as Lunella’s exasperation over their nonsense.  I especially liked how Bustos chose to depict Johnny in his flamed-on form.  She opts for a minimalist approach, maintaining the expressiveness of in the face whilst also creating the illusion of dynamic flames dancing about.  It’s quite well done.
Tumblr media
As always, Bustos’ art is augmented and brought to life by Tamra Bonvillain’s expert colors.  Bustos and Bonvaillan work so well together, I could just gush over it all day.  The aesthetic they have created for this comic has been a key feature to it being a comic easily enjoyed by older and younger readers alike.  It’s… well, it’s fantastic!
Tumblr media
Definitely recommended.  I’m biased because it met my FF jones, but keeping that in mind I’m going to go headband give it Five out of Five Lockjaws anyway!

3x2 “Untouchable”
Tumblr media
Terry faces off against a villain that can repel anything while dealing with girl trouble in an episode that is fine, but ultimately forgettable and way too convenient.
Plot
When a new villain starts stealing rare and volatile isotopes while being literally untouchable, Bruce recognizes the technology as being something from his own medical R&D department. An investigation leads him and Terry to a program that treats immunocompromised patients while keeping them isolated from the outside world. There, Terry meets Irene, a naive teenager who has never been outside the medical facility, and a few sparks fly between them. Meanwhile, the thief continues to steal isotopes and Terry must figure out who at the facility is behind the thefts.
Villain
This is one of the most disappointing villains in the series. His abilities are cool and it’s nice to see Terry actually struggle in fights, but he doesn’t even get a name. As for the reveal of who is behind the mask, it not only can be seen coming from a mile away, but it’s incredible convenient. No real investigation is put into the reveal, he just takes off his mask and Terry happens to show up at the same time. His defeat is likewise incredibly convenient, even if it shows clever thinking on Terry’s part.
Character Development
Just as the villain is disappointing and convenient, the character development is likewise disappointing and convenient. It starts off with a good conflict - Terry is flattered by the attention he gets from Irene and finds her naivete charming, much to the chagrin of Dana, who points out that he just wants what he can’t have. This is consistent with his previous character development, as his relationship with Melanie Walker showed that he is not a terribly loyal boyfriend and that he tends to fall for girls who he can never really be with.
It’s a good setup, but the payoff is lacking. We know that Terry won’t end up with Irene because this is an episodic children’s show that has to maintain the status quo, but the method with which the writers decided to make that happen is awfully convenient - it turns out that Irene has a ‘more than friend’ already, and she’s happily written out of Terry’s life with no consequences to Terry for nearly cheating on his girlfriend.
There is, at least, a nice little scene between Terry and Bruce where Bruce cops to his youthful playboy ways, however.
Rating
Tumblr media
Two out of five. In both previous seasons, I was able to identify a driving theme for the entire season, but I struggle to find one for season three. This episode just shows that, as it doesn’t really build up to anything, no one really learns or grows, and ultimately it’s just pretty forgettable.
