auditioned for a band. manager dude said i sounded great and wanted me to join as the lead vocalist...but also specifically wanted me to sing higher and train myself to sing in the higher part of the mezzo-soprano range. as soon as i made it clear i did not want to do this he suddenly switched right around to saying i sounded terrible anyway. i can't believe i just encountered the music industry version of the guy on tinder who says you're hot until you reject him then suddenly you're ugly and he totally wasn't even that into you 💀

#anyway after extensive googling of definitions and testing of my own voice ft. a piano #i have once again CONFIRMED that my range is basically right smack-dab in-between baritone and tenor #but now i'm paranoid like......what if i do sound bad and nobody's been brave enough to tell me 💀#like i think i sound good. i think my voice is very strong #BUT now i'm like what if i just can't hear how bad it is...#i need an unbiased third party (someone who doesn't know me personally and isn't afraid to be honest) to listen to me sing!!#(outside of the context of karaoke bars. because nobody expects u to sound good at a karaoke bar)
