Every now and then I remember that one ML who said they wanted to start a programme to get people out of the imperial core so that they won't uphold it through taxes & advertised it by saying land in the global south is so cheap so it'll be easy to do if you save up for a few years or have a WFH US job. Gentrification but woke !

#This person has a sickening misunderstanding on how the world works & it's sad to think less informed people might look up to them thanks to #the tankie (affectionate) buzzwords they so skillfully used #Honestly though I have a hard time believeing half of the self proclaimed ML's actually read theory with how often their orgs #(or perdonal aspirations) end up being scams or colonial projects (or both)#Which is soooo sad because I can't call myself a ML out of self respect because of the pervasive idiocy in ML spaces
