Terrifying, yet anticlimactic: re-stringing a guitar for the first time after hearing all the horror stories, and having a past of dealing with the terror that re-stringing a viola entails
#Insanitypost#not knocking the fact that there are plenty of ways stringing a guitar can go wrong and be dangerous in its own right#and it’s a little more tricky winding the string around the gear before tightening down to keep it from slipping#(granted I can’t really do this with the viola anyway since the peg box is too small so I just have to wind faster than it can slip)#but lord knows my viola (violins too…) is an absolute terror by comparison#trying to get it to catch on and not have the bridge fall down…#(or if it’s my electric viola the whole bridge pops out and goes flying across the room just when I finally have it in tune)#all the horror stories and I thought restringing the guitar was going to be ten times harder… it was easier
