i just feel like where yellowjackets faults in writing misty and shauna is that they set them up to be genuinely bad people, like specifically the people in group who’ve committed irredeemable acts (murder of adam/murder of crystal/the black box thing etc) but they also set them up as the characters we’re supposed to sympathize with the most. its like. yeah what shauna went through is abysmal and the way people treat misty is awful but like. it still remains very much true that no matter what happens to you you’re definitely Not exempt from it being wrong to kill people or condemn your teammates to starve in the woods or drag your teenage daughter into a murder investigation. like i just feel like whatever sympathy they want me to feel for them is outweighed by the terrible shit they keep making them do. like im supposed to just accept that shauna is gonna beat up lottie because she lost her baby and that’s taking a toll on her?? like bitch no! it doesn’t matter what happened to you you aren’t just suddenly allowed to take it out onto other people, especially innocent people (and especially woc)
