«────── « HEADCANON » ──────»
Hi, I have no life (joke). Anyway, with the updates to Laverne's canon I've made (and still need to add to her bio)... I decided to re-calculate her net worth.
Unfortunately, she is not making the Top 10 Richest People in the World list 😔 But that doesn't mean her worth isn't impressive!
So, below the cut you will find the breakdown of assets and liabilities. But first, here's a breakdown of what exactly constitutes into calculating a person's net worth:
Net worth is the value of the assets a person or corporation owns, minus the liabilities they owe.
An asset is anything owned that has monetary value, while liabilities are obligations that deplete resources, such as loans, accounts payable (AP), and mortgages.
This would include properties (homes, businesses, vehicles) and most material goods, as well as daily business fees. Which in GTA... are very cheap in comparison to the cost of assets.
It's also important to note this is an approximation!
Some vehicles aren't available, some were free and the market cost was estimated (re: base value + suggested sell price post-upgrade), property upgrades and renovations varied, the fees are paid daily, and I had to find online articles with the prices...
There was an attempt, and we did get an answer:
$81.3 million USD (exact number: $81,322,316 USD)
And now, the breakdown.

12 Expert-Approved Hair Color Trends to Try This Fall

12 Expert-Approved Hair Color Trends to Try This Fall
It’s official, y’all: As of September 22, summer was a wrap and fall is in full swing. But cooler temps don’t have to be a drag. It means we have the opportunity to usher in a new wave of autumn looks—including fierce hair hues inspired by the shades of the season. Although we previously predicted what would be in for 2018, we spoke to four lauded experts to get the official seal of approval on what hair colors are hot (and what’s not).
Before you jump out the window, our experts remind us to take it slow—especially if this is your first time experimenting with color. “If you’re new to the dye game, try to not go more than one or two shades lighter from your natural color [at first],” says celebrity colorist and co-owner of Mare Salon, Denis De Souza, who works with Brie Larson, Kathryn Hahn, Mila Kunis and Ashlee Simpson. “It’s better to [start with] baby steps to see how your hair reacts to color, rather than having a tragic experience and having to go through an expensive color correction!”
On the flip side, celebrity hairstylist/colorist Takisha Sturdivant—who works with Kerry Washington, Anne Hathaway, Lupita Nyong’o, Gabrielle Union and Maya Rudolph—has an easy hack to see if you’ll love your new hue before you make the major commitment—wigs! “You can try different colors and put it against your skin tone to see what’s best for you,” she says. “Or try on different colored wigs [for my vibrant shades] to see what you’d potentially look like!”
Keep clicking to see what 12 hues made the cut—and what to tell your colorist at your next appointment!
Bright Copper
“I get a lot of requests for various copper shades like Jillian Hervey (from Lion Babe) or Issa Rae,” says color director at Hair Rules Salon Jaxcee, who counts Amanda Seales, Anika Noni Rose, Jasmine Cephas Jones and Debra Lee as clients.

Brilliant Blondes
“Celebrities like Beyoncé are inspiring women of color to play around with blonde shades,” says Jaxcee. “I think women of color are interested in blonde now more than ever, because so many of us are natural. Being natural makes it possible to experiment with lighter more bold shades without the worry of having the extreme chemical damage that can occur when doing color work on relaxed hair.”

Bright Amethyst
“Crystals and gemstones are also giving people major color inspiration right now,” says Jaxcee. “I recently gave my client amethyst-inspired hair.”

Shades of Blue
“Dark blue tones are having a moment this year,” says Jaxcee. “Everything from smokey blue grays to dark denim are trending.”

Icy Platinum Blonde
“Ice, ice baby (as in platinum). If you want to make a statement, this is the way to go. It’s pure drama and it’s very sexy for fall,” says celebrity colorist and co-owner of Mare Salon Denis De Souza, who works with Brie Larson, Kathryn Hahn, Mila Kunis and Ashlee Simpson.

Copper Rose
“If you’re going for a warm fiery look, this is the look for you,” says De Souza. “Take into consideration that red dyes have the largest color molecules, so they fade the fastest—use products that help delay the fading process in between salon visits like Joico Color Infuse Copper Shampoo.”

Deep Brown (with Highlights)
“Leading into fall, brunettes should add more dimension with darker hues like a chocolate brown with sandy brown highlights,” says Sharon Dorram, master colorist at the Sharon Dorram Color at Sally Hershberger Salon. “I love what we did with Priyanka Chopra the last time she was in my chair.”

Sable Brown
“Lustrous hair colors like Kendall Jenner’s is so dramatic on the right skin complexion for fall,” says Dorram. “[On the other hand] severe amber is so passé for 2018. The harsh tones between the two colors make hair look brittle and can easily make your skin tone look washed out.”

Amber/Honey Highlights
“Amber and honey highlights will richen-up medium to light-brown hair like Jennifer Garner and Jessica Alba,” says Dorram. “I love this color when it starts to get cooler, because it gives hints and flecks of lightness while reading brunette and is super flattering.”

Statement Silver
“This color combo (silver with dark roots) is hip and vibrant and you can dress up or down—Cynthia Erivo wore it well at TIFF,” explains celebrity hairstylist/colorist Takisha Sturdivant, who also works with Kerry Washington, Anne Hathaway, Lupita Nyong’o, Gabrielle Union and Maya Rudolph.

STATISTICAL CHARACTER PERSONALITY QUIZ || LAVERNE ALBA
Margaery Tyrell (Game of Thrones): 89%
Allison Hargreeves (The Umbrella Academy): 89%
Jules (Superbad): 88%
Donna Paulsen (Suits): 88%
Rebecca Welton (Ted Lasso): 88%
Joan Holloway (Mad Men): 87%
Jordan Baker (The Great Gatsby): 87%
Caroline Forbes (The Vampire Diaries): 87%
Cece Parekh (New Girl): 87%
Satine (Moulin Rouge!): 87%
I only know Jordan Baker and I know for a FACT I have dislcosed (at least in DMs) that I do take inspiration from the way he lives his lifestyle into my portrayal of Laverne so. Accurate enough!
Other than that, though, I literally know none of these characters. So here's some matches I do know:
Sloane Peterson (Ferris Bueller's Day Off): 87%
Anita (West Side Story): 86%
Elizabeth Swann (Pirates of the Caribbean): 85%
Rose DeWitt Bukater (Titanic): 85%
Mel Medarda (Arcane): 84%
Rarity (My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic): 83%
Jasmine (Aladdin): 83%
Princess Leia (Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope): 82%
Princess Fiona (Shrek): 82%
Dr. Robert Chase (House, M.D.): 81%
Which are still pretty accurate, honestly. Laverne is a strong character who just has to find the balance between the two "lives" she lives. I've mentioned it before, especially when considering a Cyberpunk!AU for her, but to take from that previous post:
Even in her canon verse (GTA), she’s this stone-cold corporate executive who takes on the dirty work herself. She doesn’t rely on many people. If anybody ever brings it up, she brushes it off at first, like “I make sure the job is done right. Plus, it’s just part of what I do.” But really, it boils down to feeling the need to be in control to make up for consistent feelings of inadequacy in her developmental years and the loss of one of the few people to validate her.
And that bit holds true to every verse she's in.
The "cold bitch" persona is really a survival tactic for her. She's a socialite at heart, don't get me wrong, but she would go about it so much differently if she didn't have as much weight on her between being a woman in the corporate world and being a somebody in the criminal underground.

WHAT IS YOUR CURSE? || LAVERNE ALBA
Dispersal
You had a home once. You've seen it in the broken glass, heard laughter on the wind, and remembered the way it used to move you. It's not yours anymore. You couldn't stay. But there must be another one along this road-- there must be a place where your skin could grow soft again, where you will be tumbled and ruffled and fall gasping in the joy. You know how it would feel, how your chest would fill like a glass of wine, heady and reeling with ease. You have walked with others before, but it wasn’t like that. It would help if you knew where you were. It would help if you knew what to do. It would help if you had the words to fill your ragged howls-- a pack to teach you the tune.

muse: laverne alba; ceo of canics corporation, partner with the diamond casino and resort, owner of the maisonette los santos, and a career criminal who isn't afraid to get her hands dirty. bio in source!
The pounding bass shook the dimly lit walls, purple and silver strobes bouncing off the dark concrete and illuminating the Music Locker's patrons. Orange spotters from above rained down their own illuminations, targeting those on the crowded dance floor. Just off to the side was the VIP area, which was much more sparse than the space just a few feet away. A few patrons sat back on the velvety booth seating, stragglers tucked in pairs as cigar smoke and the stench of rich alcohol barely masked the body heat.
Laverne glanced at her watch, careful in tilting her wrist as to avoid spilling the champagne she'd been sipping at for the better half of an hour now. Painted lips pursed as iced eyes narrowed. Where the hell was—
Ah, there they were.
Muscles relaxed as a trained smile crossed her features. Cheeks rose, eyes squinted, and she set the fingerprint stained glass down on the table just beside her as she stood.
"About time," she teased, careful to keep her tone friendly. "I was just starting to memorize the DJ's track list. Do you want anything? A drink? A light?"
Her hand waved.
"Either way, you wanted to meet me. Now you have me."

I just found the song ever for Laverne and it's made my muse for her skyrocket-
The song is Everything by LuLuYam, and it's "about people with glass egos, who crave fame, attention, and validation than they care about themselves".
And it's just. So good. This is the vision I've tried to portray with Laverne. Def recommend the song.

I’ve been having high muse for Laverne and brainrot for Cyberpunk, so I’ve already internally worked her canon for an AU…
But the themes of the game have really made me think about why Laverne is who she is. Her psyche and such (which is under a cut because I rambled ^^; )
Even in her canon verse (GTA), she’s this stone-cold corporate executive who takes on the dirty work herself. She doesn’t rely on many people. If anybody ever brings it up, she brushes it off at first, like “I make sure the job is done right. Plus, it’s just part of what I do.”
But really, it boils down to feeling the need to be in control to make up for consistent feelings of inadequacy in her developmental years and the loss of one of the few people to validate her.
It’s mentioned in her biography but her family just wasn’t there.
Her mother wasn’t really in the marriage for love at that point. It was more protecting her status and living “the life”, and in a way Laverne was a direct threat to that. Her father put a lot of attention between his work in raising her to inherit the businesses, which of course meant less resources (e.g., attention, funds, etc.) were going to Mrs. Alba. Even with that, he still wasn’t around a lot because he… ran things. Unfortunately for Laverne, that meant becoming a target to her mother’s dissatisfaction. Laverne was constantly put down by her mother, always told no matter how hard she tried that she’d never amount to anything. Comments about her appearance, interests, etc. etc. Needless to say, this had a huge impact on her development.
The whole thing with her dad dying was really just the tipping point, because she really was alone after that. And this was all key to her developing the “cold corpo-bitch persona” to survive amongst the cuthroat executives and just survive in general.
