Vent really, truly, is going downhill.

What the fuck were Jamie and the other staff thinking?

I agree with the people saying that they're likely trying to make the app as unusable as possible so that people stop using it, and that way they'll have a "justified" reason for shutting down the app. Ugh....

you know what yeah im making another post about Vent bc its a very good example of a service being run poorly and how even if it does live, i couldnt trust using it again.

many weeks ago around the start of feb was when the head of Vent, jamie druitt, said that Vent was doing poorly and needed to migrate to Talk Life.... Many were mad at this idea as they didnt like Talk Life. (i dont know shit about it). It would take away many of Vent's unique features and due to the negative response jamie put out a post basically making a poll on whether or not people a) wanted vent to stay its own app or 2) move vent to talk life. this is a strange thing to ask at all when it seemed like he said there was no other option and if they didnt move Vent wouldn't stay due to its cost and poor value.

it was an obvious sense of false hope and no surprise, choice A won. we were assured theyd work it out. but then last week, only a few days ago even- it was stated by jamie that Vent could not sustain itself and that they couldnt even move it to Talk Life at this point because of issues with data transferring not working out. And that Vent would slowly shut down its services and APIs on the 28th...

Well, its the 28th, and the app isnt down yet. In fact, Jamie posted again saying that oh- oh theyre gonna work something out. Theyre trying something that sounds like a very messy Talk Life move that im not even sure what it will look like if it happens. i submitted a form to get my data for the shut down and now im not even sure if theyll do that due to kind of maybe keeping the app alive in some other form... that i dont really want to use anyways.

i mean. why would i want to after this mess? Vent is limping, put it out of its misery. please. the lack of trust and false hope this head of the app keeps putting out is kind of ridiculous. its not even about whether or not i think Vent was a good app this is just a great example of how not to run an app and how to not interact with your community.

Monthly Reading List #May’18

Hello there!

Another month is gone and it’s about time again for my monthly recommendations! I really love to share these amazing stories from unbelievable talented writers with you! It’s always a blessing for me to collect it!

So, tomorrow is the day of the day: I’ll start my new job in a nearby hospital. I’m nervous and excited and just can’t wait because it’s damn time after three months of doing all but nothing!

Though, that’s not really true. I did something: I found out that I not only love to read fanfiction, but also write fanfiction on my own. But since I’m an absolute beginner in writing and furthermore English isn’t my first language, I’m struggling a bit.

So, I thought maybe I give a call to all these amazing readers and talented writers out there and maybe find one or the other I can tag and help me improve my writing? It doesn’t matter if you help me through reblogging, liking, feedbacks or even being a beta. Maybe you can challenge me with requests? I can use any help that is offered and I would really, really, really appreciate it! I mean, simple as it is, it’s learning by doing ;) But without being aware of my mistakes how should I improve then? I really hope to learn from all of you out there, because writing is really fun and even if I can’t see in the future and don’t now yet how my new job will influence my writing, I want to keep doing it!
