i live for different interpretations of the parts of saikis powers that havent been confirmed, but whenever i see someone misinterpret what HAS been confirmed, i go a little insane..

its hardly justified cuz people dont have to know every little thing about a piece of media to be able to enjoy it and can make whatever fan pieces they want, so dont take this too seriously im just very autistic about saiki k so my brain explodes when people get things wrong, especially when its really obvious that they either didnt finish the show or didnt pay attention cuz some things are very prominent in the series 😭

like what do you mean saiki can see ghosts by himself? what do you mean? (very cool concept as an au or future power advancement thing though, toritsuka would be pissed) OR when people say things like "why didnt saiki end world hunger or go back in time and prevent the holocaust?" or anything along those lines, like.. idk if you were paying attention tbh😭the butterfly effect and the overall downside of using his powers and the consequences that often times outweigh the benefits is like.. a MAIN theme in tdlosk..

this applies to any misinterpretations of saiki k but ive talked a lot about other things (height, saiki himself, etc) and this is one that i see probably almost just as much

i think a lot of people have never been in a truly desperate situation but think they have, and this causes them to pass really harsh judgment on people who made bad choices when either irrational or having no good choices to pick instead, and i really wish people could get some fucking self-perception and work on their compassion skills and not fucking do that as much anymore

the thing i cant get over with calvinism is that like. yes God is sovereign yes God knew the ones who will be His since before the beginning of time, but that doesn't necessarily imply predestination. God knowing does not equal Him Specifically Choosing These People To Be Saved. the aspect i get the most hung up on is if you are saying that God has chosen specific people to be saved, then the opposite is also true. you can't say that God chose these specific people to go to heaven without necessarily implying that inversely, God ALSO chose (maybe indirectly, but still) specific people to not be saved. to go to hell. and for me that absolutely does not mesh with the loving God of the Scriptures.

also since we are talking about it, miles has little to no libido / sex drive / desire to actually physically sleep with people who aren’t the walrider post canon. he flirts and makes passes a lot because it’s just his personality, but he’s terrified of anything other than brief and basic physical contact. so while he might entertain Ideas and want to take things in that direction — unless there’s a lot of trust and discussion beforehand he most likely won’t follow through

now that I’m dragging my mental health back to a semi-decent place and feel like I might have the energy to like....write literally anything again, at some point I’m going to write about the importance of critiquing within the context of a written story

as in, critiquing narrative points completely without any consideration of how they are contextualized in the story is a bit unfair.

as in, I continue to see things about the Ted Lasso finale that annoy me. not because people had a different read of the finale or disliked different things than I did - or that they’re critiquing it at all; there’s plenty I will critique or would have done differently - but like, saying things like “Ted going back home to Kansas is bad because he’s clearly miserable about it” is an unfair reading when, within the CONTEXT of the story, it’s not framed that way. regardless of whether it was a choice you liked or how you would have wanted things to end, it’s not framed in the story as a) a bad thing, b) a miserable sacrifice, or c) a thing that Ted is upset about. so there’s a difference between saying “I don’t like Ted going back home to Kansas at the end because to me that doesn’t read as a happy ending’ and “the finale objectively frames Ted going back as a bad thing because it makes him unhappy” 

and this isn’t JUST a critique on criticism in regards to Ted Lasso. it’s the nature of fandom criticism in general. “I didn’t like this thing” becoming “this thing is objectively bad in the story” or even “this thing is portrayed as objectively bad bc of this, this, and this” despite that contradicting how the story actually frames it.

If she couldn’t keep the princess down they’d end up out of the water soon and that would really be the end of it. Mermista could fight on land but she wasn’t nearly as effective. She desperately looked around just in case Sea Hawk had managed to find her but was doing his dorky standing in a shadow routine until she noticed him.

There was no sign of Sea Hawk.

There was, however, a tub of ice cream.

little annoyed at how easy it is to make s4 work as an explanation for how zane got his powers…. chen uses the islands magic crystals to steal their powers. zane is powered by a mysterious substance, and it’s heavily implied that that is connected to his elemental power. easy obvious explanation: zane is powered by a piece of that crystal shaped into the circle we see, and chen kidnapped him not just to steal his power but to figure out how he had it in the first place

but they just… didn’t do that.
