#wanted to swap out the thermostat so we could get discounts on our electric bill#get everything swapped over no c wire no problem the thing comes witha kit to help with that#open up the HVAC there are wires everywhere worst wire management ive seen in a while no problem i got special zipties#follow the thermostat wire... whered the G wire go? wait whered the Y go? why is it just R and W and the R is in the Y spot?#okay back tracking time lets look for a splice... nothing outside the HVAC.... nothing at eye level... nothing above head- wait#no. no way.#tucked 12 feet in the air. between a duct and a bunch of pipes and rusty nails sticking out of the floor boards in such a way that#i can only fit one arm at a time. is a splice. and it splices 4 wires RYWG.... but Y and G disappear somewhere in that spliced wire#anyway kids if you wanna go into a trade dont be afraid cause you cant be worse than the asshole before me!!!!#(i ended up splicing in a proper wire and connecting everything andnow the old thermostat runs better than before)#(im having unrelated difficulties with the new thermostat but thats manufacturer side)
