How his posture 100% shifted at the other officer calling out for Maddie/the movement of his body like 'okay we really should get going' -thinking also about how it was Maddie who was called out to, not him "Officer Nolan" (either at it's lightest because it was an nudge of 'enough dawdling junior officer' verbal warning but it could very much also have been just not daring/wanting to engage with Steb)

-that being said she didn't immediately move to leave until steb went 'come on lets go' *as she does seem to linger up until steb's moved a good amount/following his cues more than addressing her name being called

#my lucky star is a black hole ☤ mun #(i can only imagine steb probably had that other officer give him an bit of an earful later)#(and steb just standing there unblinking deadly silent because its not that serious)#(he let her sidetrack him he chose to be sidetracked because he wasnt in a rush to be among all those other enforcers)#(around so many piltoverian's in uniform etc)#(plus standing still is actually kind of worst for how the uniform irritates his skin and features especially the helmet)#(maddie: oooh look there's vi! and you can check on the awareness of that unconscious fellow officer)#(steb internally: a valid excuse to delay a bit longer is fine by me)#(steb externally: okay sure just for a few minutes)
