successfully starting to teach meaux (one of my conures) to "come"!!!
#he's picking it up so much faster than i expected!!#the command is for him to walk over the my hand and step up#(at some point im hoping to teach him to fly to me when i call him)#and it's so cute watching him figure it out#last time i called him he slowly walked over to me#and then right before stepping up he said#“step up?”#like he was asking if that was right#or maybe reminding me that we HAVE a command for stepping up already#but it was so cute#id love to train bill too#but it's slower going with him#im mainly focusing on trying to get him flying again#(he has arthritis and also i think his wings have atrophied a lot)#but ive gotten him to fly to the dining room table (about 1 foot from his cage) twice now!#not in the same day#and today when he tried to fly back to his cage he fell on the floor :(#but he is making progress#and he's getting rewarded for it lol
