can people be more unapologetically boring. this post brought to you by im learning zoning laws and no one wants to listennnn
#jk they listem but fr i sound like a stereotype of like a 90 yo#anyway california and a lot of the american southwest have competitive zoning where they have limited availability for viable land#(due to issues to resource accessibility and opportunity largely. you dont want to build in a place tou cant easily transport water to)#so when land goes up to be zoned or claimed by a municipality its usually fought for by several different parties#even when they dont actually know what they want there. they dont know what they want to build but theyll reserve it for whatever use#they think is most likely and then develop it later#leading to a lot of acquired land but not necessarily efficiency in development#im taking a city planning class :)
