sometimes i think the way the sonic fanbase treats shadow 2005 is so silly “hes out of character” YOU DECIDE WHAT DECISIONS HE MAKES if u dont want him to be mean dont make him mean.... “it was the beginning of them treating shadow like an edgelord” u dont like gun and motorbike and evil alien dad who tells him to murder?????? lame + whimseyless + didnt pay attention to any other game because hes always been an edgelord. the canon ending of shth05 implies hes friends with everyone anyway why are we mad

#im dying on this hill #the game is silly and goofy and funny and the story is poorly conveyed due to the morality system but it has merit #and it wasnt the all consuming arbiter of inevitable bad shadow characterization #the decision to completely omit humans and take the franchise/its stories less serious (obviously to become more profitable)#(considering the state of segasammy at the time)#(and the horrific flop of 06)#arguably did more harm to storytelling with shadow in it than anything shth05 did #because they still want to use him for marketing but cant do anything meaningful with him because of story restrictions and retcons #the latter of which have been mended by tailstube but im gonna wait to see if they actually follow through... one thing to make a yt vid #another to put humans back into the franchise #heliichats #oh wow another shadowpost by eli. ignore me i have brain worms
