Unsurprisingly, the seasnake's tail wrapped around Kuroji's ankle the moment they plunged into the cold depths. They didn't even get the chance to take a reflexive gulp of air before being engulfed.
Which was why they brought their scuba gear, of course. They'd be a complete idiot to not anticipate such a thing, considering the...circumstances of their deal.
That did nothing to stop Kuroji's useless flailing as they were pulled down, like any other creature with lungs and self preservation instincts. It wasn't until a clawed hand was gripping the fabric of their diving suit and cold crimson slits were piercing their comparatively warmer lavender eyes that they felt like they could breathe.
The snake's grip slackens, and they let out a loud groan, bubbles trickling up to the surface as they do so.
"Ugh... It's just you... Unfortunately."
"Didn't miss me all that much, Saragimaru? I'm almost a little hurt! Almost."
Another loud groan, accompanied by more bubbles. Kuroji gave them a wicked grin, barely visible through the glass protecting them and their precious air supply from the merciless currents Saragimaru called a vague definition of home.
"So did you grab all the loot from that old shipwreck I told you about? You know, the one with that old captain who capsized his own ship whaling from a couple hundred years back?"
Saragimaru rolled their eyes, and pointed at the chest on the other side of the pool, "Yes, Your Excellency. Every useless trinket and shiny thing I could find is in there. Humans find any damn thing that shines valuable, right?"
Kuroji licked their lips. This would definitely make a fortune with the museum, especially once they rip every tiny tidbit of history from the artifacts' waterlogged wearings. They wouldn't have to worry about the bills for weeks. Hell, they might make a huge fortune from this.
But now that they were thinking about it...
"Excellent, excellent! ...But why are they all in a chest?"
Saragimaru folded their arms, a flick of their powerful tail easily closing the distance between themself and the chest. They coiled around it, giving Kuroji a withering glare, "Because I wasn't about to visit one of the most dangerous shipwrecks in this part of the sea for something so utterly worthless more than once. What's in there is what you get."
"I see, I see..." Kuroji nodded, already swimming after them, eager to claim their prize...
...Only to meet a long blade pointed at their throat. Kuroji propelled themself backwards, chuckling nervously at Saragimaru's flat expression. Or at least the closest thing to a flat expression on something so monstrous looking to normal people.
"No, you listen to me. I kept my end of the bargain, so keep yours. Tell me what's happening to Yaorochi-sama! Are they okay?! They haven't gotten eaten alive up there, have they?!"
It would be almost comical, just how they flipped from threatening to fretting. But that very fretting was how Kuroji managed to get that chest in the first place, so why not humor them?
It's not like they'd let them leave this little waterfall pool if they don't, no? Oh wait...
So Kuroji nodded again, clapping their hands together (or at least a mime of it, stupid water physics...), "Of course of course! That wouldn't be very fair, now would it be? Now let me think for a moment here, hm..."
And then Kuroji told them yet another lie about the seasnake who traded their own tail for legs, all in the name of some rusty old sword.
The waterfall pool glowed luminescent, impossibly deep. They felt breath-stealingly small on the edge of it, feet dangling in the water. They sent ripples through the otherwise untouched surface. It was clear enough that they could see all the way down to the bottom - to the creature staring up at them.
They slipped into the water.

I know you've made a ton of posts about various len'en characters and concepts but what about the creator? Their drives and inspirations and such?
I know this may be a bit of a weird one since it's about a real-life person but I figured it would be fine to ask so long as the questions respected Tabinoki's privacy and were relevant to the actual creation process of the series.
This... is a very complicated question, after all this is an actual person we're talking about here, and I'm nowhere as well-versed in JynX/Kanae information as I am with Len'en lore. Even still, we do have some mentions of JynX's inspirations and creative
So, this isn't going to be anything formal and perfectly structured, but just whatever I can think of off the top of my head.
Brainstorming Ideas
Overall Story
So this is gonna be split into three bits: One about how the story and world of Len'en came about, one about the nitty gritty development of the games and stories, and finally one about JynX's inspirations.
I'll mention it right here: JynX's process of brainstorming is... difficult, to emulate. Especially cause it assumes that you've already got a robust world in your mind.
You see when it comes to creating the world of Len'en, JynX basically started out from a macro perspective and gradually zoomed into what they wanted to focus on.
What I mean is that JynX literally started with the genesis of the universe in which Len'en takes place in, picked a suitable planet for the story to take place on, picked a suitable location and zoomed further in and in. A very... grandiose way to come up with your setting, to be honest.
From there they picked out the characters he wants to be the main characters and looked for the people around them to expand a cast out of; along with a central location to the story, Mugenri.
Basically, JynX already had the entire universe of Mugenri and beyond in his head, people and everything, they just picked out Yabusame and friends to tell their story in Mugenri.
New Characters
For coming up with new characters that were not already planned, JynX takes to looking at the setting/story and seeing what needs to be there but isn't yet.
Setting-wise, one such character is Kaoru Kashiwagi, invented during BPoHC's development, in contrast to Fujiwara no Shirogane no Sanra and Ooama no Ake no Mitori, the two of which were already conceptualised before work on BPoHC even began.
JynX looked at the brand new location introduced in that half of the game: The imperial capital Devanagara. They asked themself, what organisations exist in there, and which ones are crucial to the plot this time? Crucial to letting the audience further their understanding of the place?
There they landed on the Goefu, and from there picking out the captain to be their representative character simply followed.
Story-wise, sometimes characters simply appear as a logical result of the story JynX had created. One such example would be Shion (detailed origin story here).
Plot
Here's where we get to a caveat in JynX's brainstorming process, we technically do not know how this all truly came to be in JynX's mind.
By the time JynX actually got down to developing Len'en, much of the series' setting, along with the general plots of EE to BPoHC, already existed within JynX's mind. Yes prior to even EE's development.
So we don't actually know whether JynX is really so imaginative as to be able to spontaneously come up with a living, breathing universe in their head to start fleshing out, or if these ideas have really just been in their mind for so long that their origins are, in a sense, obscured to JynX themself as well.
What we do know, is that JynX is the type to wing it along the writing and development process (actually for all things really).
Actual Development
JynX is honestly, just in general, a very secretive person. For example, only irl person in their life that knows that they work on making games is Daijin, literally no one else (at least according to JynX). So there's not a lot about their process that we know.
What I do know though, is that it's honestly kind of a mess. JynX's process seems to be:
Make a deadline
Work on the game with no particular plan, hopping around the various tasks as their fancy takes them
As the deadline closes in, rush and stumble their way to make it no matter what.
Of course, they don't always make it (one might even argue that they only make it half of the time), but that's honestly all I could've gleaned from everything that I've seen.
I won't got into the technical aspects, what programs they use, what hardware they use, etc. It's not my forte and a lot of it can be found on the wiki, either on JynX's page or in the interviews.
Inspirations
Admiration and Motivation: ZUN and Daijin
It of course goes without saying that JynX's biggest inspiration is ZUN and his Touhou Project.
They directly inspired the genre of the first four games and JynX even pays homage to the series through little references and, of course, 90% of Haiji's spell cards.
Beyond just really liking the games and their plots, JynX also seems to really admire the solo developer thing ZUN has going on (although ZUN is much more open to collaboration these days).
JynX is absolutely determined to make Len'en completely on their own, and flat out refuses all requests of collaboration in regards to the series.
However, do note that they're not opposed to collaborative game development as a whole, and in fact is rather curious about the process and would love to get the experience. BUT! Just not with Len'en, that's a solo project, and that's non-negotiable.
To get a bit more specific, JynX also really admires the way ZUN creates, designs and writes his characters. In particular, JynX actually really likes how ZUN bases his creations off of various historical and mythological characters and events, but rarely ever elaborates on them.
JynX finds the process of digging into these characters by themself and finding out how the references shaped the characters to be what they have the most fun with (outside of gameplay, I think).
And this is why Len'en is the way it is with its characters, with references so intricate that we're still discovering new bits even to this day. And why JynX so very rarely answers regarding character inspirations, they don't want to spoil the fun.
A more personal point of inspiration for JynX is Daijin, an upperclassman of theirs from university who worked on the original Len'en, Emergency Everyday.
Daijin is apparently the person who taught JynX everything they know about game production (at the time) and even after leaving game production behind is still a great source of inspiration for JynX.
Of course, we don't know much more than this. And we shouldn't pry.
Worldbuilding: History, Mythology, Culture
As for the more creative side of things, JynX bases their worldbuilding largely on history, mythology and culture, especially Japanese.
JynX is quite the big Japanese history and culture nut, it would seem. Even when studying in a science degree at university, he somehow wound up writing an essay on the Suwa Grand Shrine.
They also have several books on these topics, such as a whole book on traditional Japanese architecture (which I suspect they must've referenced heavily with Tenkai).
I won't elaborate too much on this point, since it's fairly self-explanatory. But I would like to note that JynX is very particular about this, going as far as to prefer going on-site to do his research.
Ending
And that concludes this! A bit messy and rather casual, but I still hope it has what you wanted to read!
And sorry that it took so long, it's a rather great departure from what I usually do that I ended up freezing and just leaving it for a long while. Anyways, I hope you enjoyed~! :)

Which Len'ens would smoke weed?
I think I mentioned Tsugumi as one that would once before...I think they could probably grow weed if they really wanted to lol.
I also see Hooaka as someone who would try to smoke weed if they ever got ahold of it, much to Kuroji's chagrin. (We're going to ignore they probably got the idea from Kuroji themself, having developed the bad habit to deal with the stress of overwork. They claim to at least have their higher mental functions, unlike with alcohol.)
Oh yeah, and smoking is a common occurrence all across Mugenri, so there's probably quite a few more I haven't thought of. They haven't had any kind of drug revolution or big campaign about the negative effects of drugs like weed in any major areas yet, so it's generally considered a decent way to relieve stress lol.
#I've been spotted! (inbox)#orange and her bizarre len'en headcanons#tsugumi umatachi#hooaka shitodo#kuroji shitodo#building up mugenri (worldbuilding)#len'en#hypocrisy abounds as usual#and I had to think about drug culture in the funny danmaku game land lol#this is what I came up with#...do you think Tsugumi would sell weed?#vegetables sound much more their thing tho#hm...

[Mugenri High] Ep. 7 - Season 2
Chapter 1 - The Morning Buzz
(Scene: The early morning rays illuminate the campus as the students make their way to Mugenri High.)
(Sukune, Kurohebi, and several other students gather in the courtyard, their energy palpable.)
Sukune: (excitedly) Gyuunyo! The day is full of possibilities! Let's start it off with a burst of creativity and enthusiasm!
Kurohebi: (smiling) Indeed, Sukune. Mornings are a time of renewed energy and fresh ideas. Let's make the most of it.
(Scene: The classroom, buzzing with activity as students settle into their seats.)
Hibaru: (standing at the front) Good morning, everyone! I hope you're ready to dive into the wonders of knowledge and exploration.
Kuroji: (leaning against a desk) In this chapter of the day, we'll be focusing on stimulating our minds and expanding our horizons.
Hibaru: (encouragingly) Embrace the morning buzz, absorb the wisdom imparted, and let your curiosity guide you.
As the lessons begin, the students immerse themselves in the world of learning, their minds awakened and ready to absorb new knowledge.
(Scene: The break between classes, where the students gather in small groups to discuss their thoughts and ideas.)
Sukune: (animatedly) Gyuunyo! I just had the most fantastic idea for my next art project. It's going to be revolutionary!
Kurohebi: (listening attentively) Share it with us, Sukune. Your creativity never fails to inspire.
The morning chapters are filled with intellectual exchanges, the pursuit of new ideas, and a shared passion for growth.
(Scene: The end of the morning classes, as the students pack their bags and prepare for the next part of their day.)
Tsubakura: (stretching) Another morning well spent. Let's carry this newfound knowledge and inspiration with us.
Yabusame: Absolutely! The morning has set the tone for the rest of the day. Let's make it count!
(As the students bid farewell to the morning and embark on the next chapter, they do so with a sense of fulfillment and eagerness for what's to come.)
Chapter 2: Defending Strength
(The atmosphere in the classroom becomes tense as Fumikado, Iyozane, and Tsugumi target Mitsumo, their mocking words cutting through the air.)
Fumikado: Hey, Mitsumo! Heard you've got some mental trauma. Bet you can't handle the pressure here.
Iyozane: Yeah, you're just a weakling. What makes you think you belong in this school?
Tsugumi: It's pathetic how you let your past define you. We're just helping you toughen up!
(Mitsumo's face pales, their shoulders slumping under the weight of the taunts. However, this time, the silence is broken by the voices of those who have also experienced the cruelty of the bullies.)
Clause: Enough is enough! How dare you torment someone who's already carrying their own burdens? It's despicable!
Lumen: You have no right to judge others based on their past. We should be supporting and understanding, not tearing each other down!
Haru: Your actions are nothing short of bullying. Mitsumo deserves kindness and compassion, just like everyone else.
(The room buzzes with a mix of tension and realization as other students begin to voice their agreement. The power dynamics shift, with support gathering around Mitsumo.)
Sukune: (speaking in their unique speech) Gyuunyo! Everyone has their own struggles, and it's our responsibility to uplift each other, not tear each other apart!
Kurohebi: We stand together against cruelty and intolerance. No one should be made to feel less because of their past or their pain.
(A wave of solidarity washes over the classroom, creating a protective shield around Mitsumo.)
Mitsumo: (whispering to themselves) Thank you... Thank you, everyone...
(The bullies, Fumikado, Iyozane, and Tsugumi, retreat under the weight of the united front against their actions. The strength and resilience of the students prevail, offering Mitsumo a glimmer of hope in the face of adversity.)
Chapter 3: A Second Class Begins
(After a brief break, the students gather in their respective classrooms for the second class of the day. The air is filled with anticipation as the teacher prepares to start the lesson.)
Teacher: Good afternoon, everyone. I hope you had a refreshing break. Let's begin our next class.
(The students settle into their seats, ready to delve into the subject at hand. Mitsumo, the new student, finds a seat among their classmates, still adjusting to the rhythm of the school.)
Mitsumo: (whispering to themselves) I hope I can keep up with the lessons. Everyone seems so knowledgeable.
(Sukune, sitting nearby, notices Mitsumo's apprehension and offers a friendly smile.)
Sukune: Gyuunyo! Don't worry, Mitsumo. We're all here to learn together. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
Mitsumo: Thank you, Sukune. I appreciate it.
(The teacher begins the class, presenting the day's topic and engaging the students in discussions and activities. Mitsumo listens attentively, their curiosity ignited by the subject matter.)
Teacher: Now, I'd like you all to work in pairs for this exercise. Find a partner and discuss the prompt I've given you.
(Mitsumo looks around, a bit hesitant to approach someone. However, Haru, noticing their hesitation, reaches out with a friendly gesture.)
Haru: Mitsumo, would you like to be partners for this activity? I think we can work well together.
Mitsumo: That would be great, Haru. Thank you for offering.
(As Mitsumo and Haru engage in the activity, they begin to exchange ideas and thoughts, building a connection through shared learning.)
Haru: I really like how you approach this topic, Mitsumo. Your perspective is unique.
Mitsumo: Thank you, Haru. I've always had a deep interest in this subject.
(Throughout the class, the students actively participate, sharing insights, asking questions, and learning from one another. Mitsumo gradually gains confidence, finding their voice within the classroom dynamic.)
Teacher: Time is up, everyone. Let's wrap up the activity and share our findings as a class.
(The students gather their thoughts and contribute to the class discussion, each offering their unique perspective and enriching the learning experience.)
Mitsumo: (speaking up) I believe that considering alternative solutions can lead to innovative approaches to the problem.
Teacher: Excellent point, Mitsumo. Your insight is valued.
(As the class comes to a close, Mitsumo feels a sense of accomplishment and belonging. They realize that Mugenri High is a place where their voice can be heard and their ideas can make a difference.)
Chapter 4: Lunchtime Delights
(The sound of the bell echoes through the halls, signaling the start of the lunch break. The students make their way to the cafeteria, eager to satisfy their hunger and enjoy some much-needed relaxation.)
Haru: (smiling) I'm glad it's lunchtime. I could use a break from studying.
(Sukune, ever the energetic soul, joins the conversation with a lively expression.)
Sukune: Gyuunyo! Lunchtime is the best time! I wonder what delicious treats await us today.
(As the students enter the bustling cafeteria, their eyes are drawn to the water bubbler where Shou, the sea slug, is happily drinking up all the water.)
Mitsumo: (curious) Oh, look! Shou seems to be enjoying their water break.
Haru: (giggling) Yes, Shou really loves water. They always seem so content when they're near it.
(Jun, Shou's best friend, approaches with a smile on their face.)
Jun: Hey, everyone! Have you seen Shou? They're like a bottomless pit when it comes to water.
Sukune: Gyuunyo! I guess that's one way to stay hydrated.
(While Shou continues to indulge in the water bubbler, some students start to express their concern.)
Yabusame: Hey, Shou! Leave some water for the rest of us!
Tsubakura: Yeah, it's not fair to hog it all to yourself.
(Whispers and murmurs spread through the cafeteria, causing a small commotion.)
Mitsumo: (softly) Maybe we should talk to Shou about sharing the water. They might not realize how it's affecting others.
Haru: (nodding) I agree. Let's approach them gently and explain the situation.
(The students gather their courage and approach Shou, who looks up with a content expression.)
Shou: Oh, hey! Enjoying lunch?
Mitsumo: (kindly) Shou, we noticed you've been drinking all the water from the bubbler. It's making it hard for others to quench their thirst.
Shou: (surprised) Oh, I didn't realize. I'm sorry, I just can't help myself when it comes to water.
Jun: (supportive) It's okay, Shou. We understand, but it's important to consider others too.
(Sensing their friends' concern, Shou takes a moment to reflect.)
Shou: You're right. I didn't mean to be selfish. I'll try to be more mindful from now on.
(With Shou's understanding, the students work together to find a solution.)
Sukune: Gyuunyo! Maybe we can refill the water bubbler more often, so there's enough for everyone.
Mitsumo: That's a great idea, Sukune. Let's talk to the staff about it.
(As the students collaborate and find ways to address the issue, a sense of harmony begins to fill the cafeteria.)
Haru: (smiling) It's wonderful to see how we can come together to create a better environment for everyone.
(The lunch break continues, with students enjoying their meals and engaging in lively conversations. The atmosphere becomes one of camaraderie and understanding.)
Chapter 5: Classroom Reflections
(The classroom is abuzz with activity as the students settle into their seats, preparing for another round of lessons. Sumireko, who has been living at Mugenri High for some time now, sits quietly at her desk, deep in thought.)
Sumireko: (whispering to herself) It's been quite an experience here at Mugenri High, but I think it's time for me to head back home. I'll miss everyone, but I can always come back to visit.
(As the class begins, the teacher takes attendance, calling out each student's name.)
Teacher: "Yabusame?"
Yabusame: "Here!"
Teacher: "Tsubakura?"
Tsubakura: "Present!"
Teacher: "Haru?"
Haru: "Here, sensei."
(As the roll call continues, Sumireko's name is eventually called.)
Teacher: "Sumireko?"
(Sumireko hesitates for a moment, then raises her hand.)
Sumireko: "Um, actually, sensei, I have something to discuss. Is it alright if I step out for a moment?"
Teacher: (surprised) "Of course, Sumireko. Is everything alright?"
Sumireko: (nervously) "Yes, everything's fine. I just need to have a quick conversation with the principal."
(With the teacher's permission, Sumireko leaves the classroom, her classmates casting curious glances her way. She makes her way to the principal's office, her mind racing with thoughts of her impending departure.)
Sumireko: (taking a deep breath) "I hope Principal Tsurubami understands my decision to return home. I've learned so much here, but it's time for me to face new challenges."
(Sumireko reaches the principal's office and knocks on the door.)
Principal Tsurubami: "Come in."
(Sumireko enters the office, finding Principal Tsurubami seated behind the desk.)
Principal Tsurubami: "Ah, Sumireko. What brings you here?"
Sumireko: (respectfully) "Principal Tsurubami, I've come to discuss my plans. I've decided it's time for me to return home, but I wanted to express my gratitude for the experiences I've had at Mugenri High."
Principal Tsurubami: (smiling) "I understand, Sumireko. Mugenri High has been enriched by your presence, and we're grateful for the contributions you've made during your time here. You're always welcome to come back and visit."
Sumireko: (gratefully) "Thank you, Principal Tsurubami. I've truly enjoyed my time here, and I'll treasure the memories and friendships I've made."
Principal Tsurubami: "I'm glad to hear that. Remember, the doors of Mugenri High are always open for you. We wish you the best in your future endeavors."
(Sumireko thanks Principal Tsurubami and bids farewell, her heart filled with mixed emotions as she walks back to her classroom.)
Sumireko: (whispering) "It's not a permanent goodbye. I'll come back to visit, and who knows, maybe one day I'll return to Mugenri High."
(As Sumireko returns to the classroom, her classmates notice her somber expression.)
Haru: (concerned) "Sumireko, is everything alright?"
Sumireko: (smiling) "Yes, Haru. Everything's fine. I just had to have a conversation with Principal Tsurubami. Let's focus on the lesson now."
(The class resumes, but Sumireko's impending departure lingers in the air. The students listen attentively, their thoughts drifting to the memories they've shared and the bonds they've formed.)
Chapter 6: Temporary Farewells
(The final class of the day comes to an end, and the students gather their belongings, preparing to head back to their dormitories. Sumireko stands at the front of the classroom, her classmates turning their attention towards her.)
Sumireko: (addressing the class) "Thank you all for your attention. I have an announcement to make. As some of you may know, I will be returning home temporarily. It's been an incredible journey here at Mugenri High, and I'm grateful for the friendships I've formed and the experiences I've had."
(There is a mixture of surprise and sadness in the room as Sumireko's classmates process her words.)
Lumen: (with a smile) "We'll miss you, Sumireko. It won't be the same without you."
Clause: "Yeah, you brought so much energy and excitement to the classroom. We'll definitely feel your absence."
Sumireko: (grateful) "Thank you, everyone. It means a lot to me. But don't worry, it's just a temporary goodbye. I'll be back before you know it, and we can create more memories together."
(Haru approaches Sumireko, a hint of sadness in their eyes.)
Haru: "I'll miss your presence, Sumireko. You brought a unique perspective to our discussions. Take care of yourself."
Sumireko: (smiling) "Thank you, Haru. I'll be sure to take care of myself. And remember, you can always reach out to me if you need anything."
(A wave of mixed emotions fills the room as Sumireko bids farewell to her classmates. They exchange heartfelt words and promises to stay in touch.)
(As the students disperse and make their way back to their dormitories, the halls of Mugenri High become quiet. Each student reflects on the day's events and the temporary goodbye to their dear friend.)
(Meanwhile, Sumireko gathers her belongings, ready to embark on her journey back home. As she walks through the campus one last time, memories of her time at Mugenri High flood her mind.)
Sumireko: (whispering) "This place has become a second home to me, and these friendships are ones I'll cherish forever. Mugenri High, I'll be back soon. Until then, take care, everyone."
(Sumireko exits the campus, leaving behind a bittersweet atmosphere. The students, each in their own dorm rooms, reflect on the day's events, knowing that their time together will be different without Sumireko's lively presence.)

" SCREAMING EAGLES !!!!!!! "
" Take it easy spot! We're here to your new home ! ! "
The No One's Rose has finally return back home into Mugenri but she brought a few new friends and family members of the bkack dragon family. Here we see her riding onto the back of the great worm Cerberus as hell fairies all around flying around into the skies while Clownpiece waves the American flag as if she thinks Koishi liberates all of the place when really Mugenri is just her new home.
" I declare this land property of United of America baby! "
The hell fairy opened a glass bottle of cola and chugs it all down placing the flag into the shrine of both Yabu and Tsuba, in her birthday of all days.
" Clownpiece, behave yourself and take that flag down! "
" FREEDOM! ! ! "
The hell fairies started saluting for the flag that's placed upon the shrine. Today Tsuba has gotten the absolute best/worst birthday present and that's Koishi's return.
Moments before all of this...
"You know, aside from this morning, this has been a rather pleasant birthday."
She holds her cup out for Yabusame to pour her more sake...
"I think it's too quiet. Not even the Shitodo's showed up."
To which Yabusame obliges.
"And this quiet is why this birthday is so pleasant."
She's about to take a sip when a certain Hell Fairy, screaming like the lunatic she is, plants a flag into the rooftiles of the shrine.
And now...
"Huh. Smells like freedom around here."
"Oh, it's about to smell like burning napalm, alright..."
The scientist gets up and storms off to the front of the shrine where all the noise is, Yabusame following not too far behind.
“Koishi, if this is your honest idea of a birthday present, then I hope you kept the receipt.”

" All of I have achieved is all burn to ashes, our home gone and my own family hurt because I abandoned them to theur own destruction... "
" You didnt abandon us Koishi, stop hurting yoursel - "
" GOT A LIVE INE HERE! "
Saigo aim her weapon down at the somehow still alive lunarian whom lost his leg, covered in blood, left behind for interrogation. The orange satori is eager to pull the trigger but Orin placed her rifle down and calms her as they all needed information.
Koishi and the others turned around as the old woman along with Yukari walked over towards the lunarian. She grabs the rabbit by the ears, full of rage and despair in her eyes.
" You are going to tell me EVERYTHING I needed to know before I kill you... "
" Hehehe, you think you scare me even if I tell you? it doesn't matter anyway, we're all going to die this is the just the beginning Koishi... "
" The hell do you mean? Who sent you? What're you planning... "
" Toyohime returns, she wanted me to give you the message she's waiting for you back home where it all began Koishi... "
" Toyohime, my god. She's alive all this time, what took her so long? So she send you here to try to kill me just so she can have revenge? What she's REALLY planning? Answer me! "
" Soon all of gensokyo, the outside world, and mugenri will suffer! We will purge and purify all of you for the death of our people and all we had accomplished all gone because of you monsters !! "
Yukari shoved Koishi away as she swiftly plunged the black sword the No One's Rose deep into the moon rabbits chest in pure rage.
" YOU DESTROYED MY WORLD, YOU KILLED EVERYONE I LOVED, NOW YOU DESTROY OUR HOME, TRYING TO KILL MY ENTIRE FAMILY AGAIN? WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT FROM US? WHEN WILL IT BE ENOUGH!? "
Yukari screamed at the top of her lungs while swinging her blade stabbing and slashing the rabbit multiple times killing him on the spot as blood drenched all over her face yet she kept going.
The others watched as Koishi grabs her and calms her down while pulling her away from the body showing how much pain Yukari is in for so long just like the No One's Rose.
" Yukari..! Calm down! Calm down! "
" THEY TOOK EVERYTHING FROM ME..!! "
Yukari dropped the blade as she breaks down into tears crying in the No One's Rose's arms and she comforts the sage tightly.
" ...Damn that bitch's hardcore! "

I must ask about Yabusame. Anything interesting about them? What are some neat secrets they might be hiding ~ ?
Ooh, Yabusame is quite the tough one, we really just know so little about them! Anyways, I'll try my best though!
It's the Flawless Thoughtlessness — Yabusame Houlen
Name: Yabusame Houlen
Since we're talking about their name, I'll be using the Japanese order here, Houlen Yabusame (鳳聯藪雨).
The first thing you might notice is the use of an L in the romanization of their name Houlen. Japanese doesn't actually distinguish between /l/ and /r/, so either is technically fine as long as we're consistent, but JynX does actually consistently use R. So why the L here?
It's so that when combined with Tsubakura Enraku, their names can combine to give Len'En!
In Houlen, "hou" (鳳) refers to the Fenghuang (鳳凰), a bird in Chinese mythology said to be the king of all birds. It is often paired with the Yellow Dragon to represent the Emperess and Emperor and China respectively.
Although rarely used on its own, "ren" (聯) carries the meaning of "link" or "pair". Perhaps used in reference to the title of the entire series "connecting chain".
In addition, "houren" is also the reading of 鳳輦, which refers to a type of palanquin decorated with a Fenghuang on the roof, used specifically by the Emperor. Nowadays it also refers to the same type of palanquin used in Shinto shrine processions as well.
In "Yabusame" (藪雨), "yabu" (藪) means "grove while "same" (雨) means "rain". Read together it refers to the Asian stubtail, given this name as their cries are said to sound like rain pattering on a grove.
Curiously enough, while Yabusame's name is indeed a Bird's Name, they are the only character so far with multiple birds in their name that are not related in any way, literally or through wordplay.
Titles
Yabusame is one of the few characters to have two titles. First, their default title: Flawless Thoughtlessness (天衣無縫の能天)
天衣無縫 is a phrase that literally means "a celestial's clothing has no seams", which refers to something that is naturally flawless with no trace of artifice. So this is where "flawless" comes from.
能天気 refers to an easygoing person who never thinks deeply about anything, which is where we get "thoughtlessness from".
In their chef form in BotC, they're titled Chef Unbound in Any Direction (縦横無尽な調理人).
縦横無尽 literally means "vertically and horizontally endless", and refers to someone who acts freely and as they wish, hence "unbound". 調理人 simply means "chef".
Basis: Dimensions and String Theory
Similar to fellow protagonist Tsubakura Enraku, it's difficult to identify any particular figure, historical, mythological or otherwise, in them. However, it is fairly clear that Yabusame is based on dimensions and string theory.
Dimensions
Yabusame's most obvious tie to the concept of dimensions is their ability, "something like crossing dimensions". While Yabusame is indeed shown to be able to do so, like in BPoHC's tutorial where they crossed into an alternate Mugenri, how this is achieved is unclear.
Curiously, JynX personally considers Yabusame's ability the most dangerous in the series so far, although the reason remains unexplained.
The most common application of Yabusame's ability is their "hyper-dimensional pockets", portals that connect two different dimensions. They use them to send and retrieve things to and fro between dimensions, an example being their spell Confused Origins "Screen Shuffle", as seen below:
There are a number of possible curiosities possibly related to Yabusame's abilities, such as:
Yabusame is apparently only "technically human", whatever that means
Suzumi's abilities seem to have next to no effect on Yabusame at all, and even if they rewound time after killing them it would apparently still leave them dead, according to Suzumi
While Yabusame seems to have free control over their ability, EE's bad ending would imply that they need to fall asleep to truly transport themself between dimensions
JynX said that there are "no longer" alternate Yabusames across different dimensions, the Yabusame we see always being the singular Yabusame (Which raises very curious questions about BPohC, actually)
A popular theory as to why this is, is that Yabusame exists simultaneously as one being throughout all the dimensions.
It would seemingly explain why they are so very scatterbrained, as their attention is literally scattered across various dimensions; as well as why killing them would be a permanent action even if time was rewound, as time is a dimension itself.
If this were the case, then perhaps sleeping to travel between dimensions is merely for Yabusame to shift their main focus between them; and the fact that there are "no longer" distinct, separate Yabusames in each dimension would imply a fusion/takeover of some sort.
However, we should of course keep in mind that this is all a theory, and is nowhere near confirmed.
String Theory
Disclaimer: Physics is not my strong suit, and I know next to nothing about string theory, so while this is probably the juicy part I won't be able to say much here. All I can do is point out some neat little references.
Yabusame's birthday, 26 November (26/11) may be a reference to the dimensions required in different variations of string theory: The M-theory calls for 11; while the Bosonic string theory calls for 26.
The M-theory is also referenced in Yabusame's personal themes Wings that Transcend Spacetime ~ M theory and Feathers Flying off the Beaten Path ~ Eleven-dimensional.
EmEv Holdover: Serintsu
So I sort of, kinda lied when I said that we can't identify any basis for Yabusame. We do have one from Emergency Everyday, the dropped predecessor of Len'en from which our modern Len'en is based on. We should keep in mind, however, that JynX did not work on EmEv.
It is likely that Yabusame is somewhat of a renewed Serintsu.
A human with the ability of "something like crossing dimensions", from what we can see of EmEv's trial version, their story from their game is largely identical to that of Yabusame's in EE.
However, other than this, the two share no other similarities and it is fairly safe to say that EmEv's main influence on Len'en comes from its premise and story more than anything.
So! I think that concludes our little look at Yabusame. Truly a mysterious but extremely fun character, let's hope we get to learn more in the future~! Until then, I leave you with this early concept art of Yabusame, which I think deserves to be appreciated more! :)

Don't know if you already covered this somewhere, but do you have any theories or info for why characters with bird names are seen as either important or people that other characters try to keep a close eye on?
Why no I haven't! There's not much we have right now, not at all, but here's what we do have on Bird's Names.
Canon Mentions
We actually have so little on them, that rather than summarise what we know right off the bat, I think it'd be helpful to show directly what we do have:
RMI Slaver Team - Ex Stage
Tenkai Zuifeng "Since you [Kuroji] bear a "bird's name", it must surely be no coincidence that you came to this world. Was it by Tsurubami's whim, or perhaps by Mugenri's will…?"
BPoHC Shrine Team - Neutral vs. Tenkai Zuifeng
Tsubakura Enraku "So, what exactly are you doing here [Devanagara]?" Tenkai Zuifeng "Birdwatching. [...] I'm here to observe the capital's new emperor." Tsubakura Enraku "The emperor? That counts as birdwatching?" Tenkai Zuifeng "Yes. 'Birds' are those that soar through the heavens, after all. They naturally stand above the rest of the populace."
BPoHC Scoundrel Team - Neutral vs. Tenkai Zuifeng
Hooaka Shitodo "We're all named after birds too, starting with our surnames." Tenkai Zuifeng "You seem to have become accustomed to this place. You may even be able to spread your wings soon enough."
Interview with JynX (2017) Q.50
Q: Medias is a penguin, but why don't they have a Bird's Name? A: They're not a bird that can fly, so they're not as special as the other birds in the cast. A bird's a bird, though, so they're a little special… maybe?
Interpretation
The key thing that makes these "birds" so crucial would seem to be their potential to "rise above" other people, being somehow above them, perhaps in terms of authority, power, or otherwise.
Tying into the above is the fact that it seems that flying birds are given much higher praise than flightless ones, almost certainly to keep in line with the "fly high above the common rabble" theme.
Curiously, you may note that the only in-universe source we have on the concept is Tenkai Zuifeng, a close cooperator of the Senri Shrine. Additionally, they seem to closely guard the secrets of the names, giving only vague hints and metaphors as to what it may mean or represent.
Tenkai is also the only one really keeping tabs on these people, as far as we know. This is in part because they seem to be the only person who knows about the concept, and in part because they're constantly on surveillance for any potential threats to Mugenri, likely a habit from their previous capacity as co-dictator of Mugenri.
Theory: Birds of Potential
This is a very widespread theory that's basically taken as fact these days, I think. And while I do think that it's a very likely interpretation, it should be made clear that it's not outright confirmed.
The names are often interpreted along with Tsurubami's ability to "cultivate poultry", which we know is a metaphor for "releasing and cultivate the latent potential" in certain people.
Combined with the fact that the ability doesn't work on people lacking in potential, and that everyone in EE were holders of bird's names, it's not hard to see how people would come to tie the two facts together.
Under this view, bird's names are basically symbols of having great potential, which does seem to be true, looking at the characters known to have bird's names so far.
However, it should be noted that Tsurubami's power theoretically works on anybody, as long as they have sufficient potential. Additionally, though this is just my opinion, I would imagine that potential is not all these names are about, and that there's more we aren't privy to.
Other Curiosities
A possible hint as to what else these names may mean, is the idea that they are seemingly somehow intrinsically linked to Mugenri.
Tenkai suggests that it might actually be Mugenri's will that all the EE outsiders, every single one of them holders of bird's names, have been spirited away into the mysterious land.
They also seem to suggest that once a person has sufficiently familiarised themself with Mugenri, they'll be able to "spread their wings", likely in a metaphorical sense.
I would imagine that this is not directly about their potential, since the EE outsiders' were already unlocked during EE, but about something else somehow tied to the land they find themself in.
And that's all I have on Bird's Names, still a very mysterious concept, that we aren't really familiar with yet. Nevertheless, we have what we have, and we've made the best use of it.
As usual, I hope you enjoyed~! :)
#len'en#len'en project#len'en lore#you might much more readily recognise Tsurubami's ability as “raising poultry” and not “cultivating poultry”#this would be because I literally changed the translation halfway through typing this up#“raising” kinda gives the wrong impression that Tsurubami is able to give you more than what you're allotted which is untrue#on a similar note#I'm thinking of changing “bird's name” to simply “bird name”#it's much less cumbersome#I'll mull over it for a bit before that though

10:00 PM
Koishi and Yukari in the human village of Mugenri holding hands together, smiling all happily with each other. While indeed had brought treats for her family back home into the mansion.
" The human village is all quiet today, usually it's so busy. "
" Hmm, well maybe they're all closing shop soon, it's late.. "
" Yup, that can be the case honey once we go home we should discuss about..- "
" Wait, do you hear that...? "
The satori stopped walking and upon the sage seeing that look on her face she had stopped walking. They looked around and heared that sound coming this way. They heard the sound of...motors? What? It was not long until, they turned around and saw a shinning bright light heading only for it to revealed to be a cry of vengeance. Yorihime had appeared into the scene driving such a motorcycle that once belong to Byakuren herself. A wide smile grew across her face as vengeance consumes her mind, at this rate she's far too gone.
" K O I S H I ! ! ! "
The now demented Yorihime raised a metal pipe in her hand as ahe prepares to swing that weapon across her face. The satori Koishi gritted her teeth as ahe saved Yukari, pushing her out of the way only for the satori to be smacked across her face and resulted the former lunarian leader crashing her bike through the impacted. Her old vehicle exploded as the villagers witnessed the whole scene unfolded as they all panick and left to their homes.
Despite sustaining severe injuries, Yorihime slowly stood up with that metal pipe in her hand. Koishi gritted her teeth, wincing in the pain she endured from the crashed, only to stare angrily at her enemy. The monster who killed her friends and family years ago.
" Hehehehe, You asshole...you're making this fun. "
" Y-Yorihime... "
" KOISHI...! "
Koishi felt her rage within her body building up inside of her, Yukari disappeared through the gap, but she didn't leave her, no she's somewhere inside of her wife's body and mind just like old times, she knew this day would come where these two would meet again. Yorihime walked over towards the old woman dragging the large pipe she'll use to kill and beat down the satori.
" I'll let you in on a little something. This little game we're playing right here, right now? It ain't like boxing. The one who get's beaten, and broken to pieces isn't the loser.
A soldier who can't tough it out to the end, they're the one that fucking loses, eh don't ya think ? "
" In the line of war, there's no K.Os. I'll tell you what satori. To me, an eye or two don't mean shit.
Being killed by your friends, my sister's betrayal and brought my people down a dark path? Couldn't give a fuck. As long as I'm alive, brrathing even, I'll keep getting back up for more. "
" Which is why you... "
The former lunar leader slowly raises the pipe as Koishi's body undergone a mutation within her body, her mind is more focus on killing, but it's not her demon, no it's the dragon within her. It screamed kill.
" A half - Ass like you's the one thing I can't stand, you killed my people, you destroyed my home.
NOW DIE YOU FUCKING BITCH ! ! ! "
Yorihime gritted her teeth as she slammed the pipe onto Koishi's body, but the satori covered herself with her arms blocking her attack. It was clear now, this is where the two titans meet, the black dragon of Gensokyo Koishi Komeiji versus the fallen angel Yorihime Watatsuki No Yorihime. Rage against dispair, dragon against demon.

7:49 A.M. Lunar city
It's now the morning here in the world still rebuilding itself from the war but horror attacks continue to spread like a disease and with Koishi still finding both of her sons the ronin had no choice but to stepped in and all over gensokyo the ronin looked and find both Koishi and Burning Bemstra all while they all saved civilians protecting cities and villages from the horror onslaught. Rumors spread that an unholy legion of horrors will come and invade the lunarian city and so a few dozen ronin now alongside the crimson dragon and the half ghost Youmu who had joined him on killing the remaining horrors that plague gensokyo again. Both ronin are relaxing while eating some food still on the look out for horrors.
" Do you think they' re really coming here? "
" Let them try we fought them before thousands of years ago. "
" Yeah but why more are coming here as we speak? Why some of them attack villages but more of them come here? I have an awful feeling about this... "
" We all are but we must do what we must to protect gensokyo and it's people and regroup with the black dragon. For now we stay by her son. "
" Oi, the half ghost and the crimson dragon! You want some of the food? Gotta eat to gain some strength back from fighting all night! It's breakfast! "
" Awe thank you! "
" Gladly...! "
The two walked up the stairs of the watch to the upper barricade, sitting down on the steel chairs besides a few moon rabbit civilians and ronin. The two were served peaking duck, it's of course Koaru' s favorite as he hadn't had leaking duck for a long time as he eats alongside the half spirit besides him. While eating the two began talking and enjoying the fresh air of the morning.
" So Koaru-san, you like peaking duck huh? "
" Of course...! Father always made me peaking duck when I was a teen. Me and her use to eat together at the restaurants of mugenri. Ahh I felt like a child again..! "
Youmu couldn't help but to chuckle at how childish and happy the crimson dragon is as it remind her of her mistress whenever she was feeding her, Yuyuko smiling was one of the good memories she had long before the lunar descent ceremony.
" Haha...you remind me of Yuyuko when you smile like that at your favorite dish. "
" Uh? I do? "
" Yeah, I envy you that you're always optimistic and bright even in the most horrific situations like we're in... "
" I remember that when I was a young lass, I was training my hardest to be a swordsman just like you, but not just that I one time swung my sword made from wood everywhere and I accidentally hit my sensei... "
" Ohh? You're joking... "

After the tyrannosaur escape from the docks Seki and Michael began following the kappa while they're planning on getting the infant and the adult back in the boat.
" Why the hell wasn't the animal tranquilized? "
" It was Saki hit it with two darts of concentrated Carfentanil over ten milligrams. "
" Ten milligrams? You just put it in a coma! "
" It stopped breathing so we gave it naltrexone to counteract affects we didn't have much to give it! "
" you gave it those types of drugs without knowing the proper doses you put the damn animal in narcoleptic state the things a locomotive now! "
" Look we're prepared for here! "
" is there any other dinosaurs still in the boat? "
" No we brought the infant here by plane look we have this to put it to sleep. "
The kappa pulled out an air rifle from under wreckage as both michael and Seki began to have a private talk with Kiyomi.
The sooner they're getting both dinosaurs back into gensokyo, where they came from the better as they start asking questions on where the infant around mugenri is.
" You have the infant? "
" It's safe... "
" Michael the animal is dehydrated the first thing is gonna do is find a water source then find the very next it's body needs all of this containment equipment is here we got to get it back to the docks the boat might still be seaworthy.. "
" Seki I don't think it's gonna be seaworthy,we can get the animal back without the infant and without the ones protecting Mugenri getting in the way.... "
" Michael remember what happen back on the island with the trailer the creature came there with the infant and there's no reason to think it won't do the same thing here we just sure as hell gotta try... "
Both Michael and Sekibanki turned towards Kiyomi as they're speaking with her again this time finding the location of where they place the infant.
" Where's the infant? "
" It's in a secured area not far from here, why...? "
" .... Where's the location? "

It's the morning again and the No One's Rose is awaken, bare naked right next to Yukari in bed. She sat up from the bed, and stares at her sleeping spouse, stroking her blonde hair and sighed.
" Everytime I look at you, you're still the most beautiful thing I ever had the pleasure of being with my one and only true friend, now my beautiful wife. Just as you protect me I'll do everything in my power to protect you and everyone around me.
And alo you're awake just to hear me talking about my undying love for you aren't you Yukari - sama? "
Yukari smiles turning around to the No One's Rose staring at her in the eyes, holding her hand and pecking her on the nose.
" Surprise, Koishi..? "
" Nope... "
" Honey yesterday I heard about you and Tsuba about you taking a break for a bit... "
" Tch, of course you have it's not that I don't want a break I have to take care of my family even you... "
" Koishi, you're stubborn that's the problem. We're both old and I think it's time you do need a break from all the bullshit. How about you and I go out somewhere...? "
" Oh? To penguin kingdom? Oh my! I love penguins! "
" No. Somewhere a bit more classy around Mugenri like the same place you first proposed to me... "
" Ahh the proposal I remember it so well, sure! I love too go back there just to remember. "
" Then it's a date then.... "
Yukari and Koishi had finally settle on taking a break today, as they both got up from the bed and getting dressed to spend the day with eachother.

" Yabusame has taught me a lot about forgiveness and mercy, I've had turn more merciful towards those that had destroyed my life, my whole family and friends criticised me for it but I can't keep going with this whole revenge thing... "
The No One's Rose sighs as she turns away from the mirror, and gets prepared for today to teach the children of Mugenri and their disabled daughter Nana in school. Nana is currently eating breakfast made by THAT Koishi and she pats her on the head.
" Remember to have fun, little one today is thursday and it's time for me to cook up some pumpkin pie and craft some costumes... "
" Pumpkin pie!! "
《 Pumpkin pie? Hell yeah! 》
" Mr. Troussel love pumpkins too! "
The disabled Satori smiles happly towards the other Koishi holding onto her teddy bear in her arms.
" Nana C'mon! Let's go or you'll gonna be late! "
" Bye bye ! ! ! "
Nana walks over towards the No One's Rose holding into her arm as the two had walked out of the mansion walking to the shortcut to the school.
With Koishi and Nana gone Hina and a few of the former space kaiju within the mansion begins to have a conversation.
" Man, that's kid's growing up even though she's not the brightest.. "
" Brightest or not, we all love her all the same... "
" I-I-it's sad t-that Nana is the only satori that's disabled and I-I didn't think they can be like her. "
" At the end of the day we're all human, it's bound to happen to anyone not just humans or yokai.. "
" Don't forget that the kid is just gifted with blowing things up and fire! No wonder why she's so close to you love birds! "

Back in Mugenri everyone is decorating their home with halloween decorations as well as the carved pumpkins placed around in their home. Lotus and Saigo are listing how many the pumpkins there are, both love birds Okuu and Mokou are hanging the decorations, and the misfits Suika and Hina are drinking and carving pumpkins.
" I bet we can carve a dick onto one of the pumpkins, Suika.. "
" Pretty sure Koishi won't like that but fuck that bitch, lets do it ! "
" Don't even think about it you two dumbasses... "
" Ah c'mon Reimu lighten up, we're all having a good time here! "
" Pumpkins look yummy..! "
" Hey zombie, don't even think about it. Wait, you're a corpse you don't think... "

Koishi and Nana stepped out to get back working in the school, meanwhile the others are doing their thing as per usual until the misfortune producing Hina decideds to do a little fun time with her companion Suika. The creature's entire clothing and hair turn into a dark ocean blue while glowing insside of the mansion.
" Today's the day ya drunken fuck we're going to the multiverse and fuck with Koishi's friends on the other side just for misfortune! "
" I don't know about that one, I'm not too drunk for this lemme grab the booze! "
" Forget the booze, let's fucking go! "
" And where do you two think you're going? You know Marisa and I was task to keep you two out of trouble for today.. "
" Heh, I wish I can join in on the fun, da ze..~ "
" Shut up Marisa... "
Reimu and Marisa had appeared in the scene out of their kaiju forms, with sillhouettes of floating hands made from Rumia's shadows roll towards the two misfits.
" Aww great the fun police, what do ya want this time? "
" Tch, trust me I'd love to have fun once in awhile too but you two know the rules of annoying people... "
" Especially causing trouble for both the family and others outside of Mugenri. "
" Welp that failed, let's grab a drink.. "

Meanwhile with the others Hina Kagiyama formerly known as One Bad Day has just adjust her new appearance all along with her partner in crime, Suika Ibuki.
" HEHEHE, AWWW SWEET FUCK, HINA KAGIYAMA IS BACK BABY! "
" When the hell we gettin' booze? Since we're back, might as well just celebrat by drinkin. "
" How's about you shut yer' fuckin' mouth and let me think ya damn drunk I got an' idea! "
Despite their appearances now, they're still kaiju in heart due to still possessing traits of their Kaiju form, as well as their physical abilities such as enhance strength, durability and their kaiju based magic abilities as well.
Hina thought about causing trouble again with Mugenri's inhabitants, feeding on their misfortune and bringing along her small oni shortstack friend along.
" Wanna scare the shit out of people and take their stuff? "
And then suddenly...
" I believe that won't happen under my supervision... "
' Might I suggest something less criminal activity, and more of anything else? '
The hell raven, formerly known as all to blame appeared into the scene, preventing the two troublemakers from bothering the villagers.
" Aw shit it's the fun police... "
" Fuck you want, jarhead? "
" Checking on everyone in the area and stopping you from bothering everyone, mistress Koishi said so."
' I read all vital signs of all of us within this area, due to our rapid evolution. We have succeeded in adapting to the world and it's environment. Yet we still maintain our old traits.. '
" What about Rumia and Flandre? Those two achieved that shit too? "
" Yeah, I think so... "
' I believe so, it's truly is a miracle and a fascinating discovery from within us all. '
" So, no booze? "
