This is possibly the most absolutely out there series involving Tudors/Elizabeth I and that’s saying something (when I say that Mary I getting pregnant by a dark elf is not the most out there thing in this fantasy series).
This book :points up: is one of the most upsetting books I have ever read (and the premise of a magical(ish) chess tournament involving Roger Ascham and a young Elizabeth I is so cool)
