HELLO. I AM SO SO MAD THIS TOOK ME SO LONG TO ANSWER BC I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO ASK FOR MONTHS but i haven't had like a single free hour until now ANYWAY OF COURSE THANK U SM FOR TAKING INTEREST

MAJOR BABEL SPOILERS AHEAD //

cohortswap is basically an au eren @chromathesia came up with where griffin and robin swap places in the story; robin is now the older golden child gone astray, and griffin is now the younger second failure. and the rest of the cohorts get swapped with them!

we have a lore doc that is like over 14 pages long but we are keeping the full thing under wraps for now because eren is writing a massive fic they don't want to spoil too early lmaooo

some foundational deets:

ramy still dies... so sorry. except in this case he and robin planned to run and leave babel for the hermes society together (the um. romantic eloping is implied but unfortunately i don't think either of them get a real chance to act on it), and they plan for victoire to stay behind to keep leaking information out to them. letty finds out and betrays them the same way; calling the cops and barging in with a gun and. yeah. except this time, because it happens outside their dorm rooms, robin manages to escape, and drags ramy's body across half of oxford to bury him in the garden of the old library. he is deeply deeply fucked up from this

professor lovell doesn't die... so sorry. furious about robin's betrayal, he blames it on robin being corrupted by spending too long in his home country, and rips griffin out of china early. but he realises very quickly that griffin isn't fluent in chinese and can barely hold a candle to robin's talent. he never tells griffin about robin but very much takes it all out on griffin, who grows up feeling compared to a ghost his whole childhood. when he first meets robin it all clicks, and he can't help but resent his older brother for the hell he got put through

to save herself, victoire sucks up to letty, tells her that she almost got hooked by hermes and wants out and to put it behind them after everything, and letty is so desperate to believe it that she pulls all her strings to vouch for her and keep her safe. victoire remains at babel and she keeps working covertly with hermes under letty's nose. my comic was about letty and victoire first seeing griffin in babel, and mistaking him for robin. letty doesnt take it well lmao but also in her bullheaded stubbornness starts to treats griffin as her second chance to prevent robin's "mistakes" from happening again lollll

so that's like the general premise! here's some other fun deets:

robin is... severely depressed but is determined to follow through on hermes' work and not give himself an easy out like ramy implied. griffin is so desperately eager for more of hermes when he finds out, but robin keeps him at an arms' length for ages because he's literally been wanting to die for years and is not prepared or willing to have a little brother to look after now. they end up butting heads more often than not and it's a very strained relationship (as griffin and robin's relationship is in canon)

when griffin fails his silver-working test, it's because robin tries to help offhand by giving him a matchpair he came up with. griffin can't get it to work in the exam, but worst of all, chakravarti recognises it as robin's work. he doesn't report griffin for it since he's also a part of hermes, but he tries to give griffin a second chance to come up with his own, and griffin can't, so he fails. up until that point griffin had been trying to hide from robin how little he knew, so the look on robin's face when griffin next sees him is unbearable, like, the mix of pity and anger that griffin didn't tell him, the disappointment that griffin wasn't the connection to robin's culture he wanted, the guilt that robin let lovell rip someone else out of their home, and now griffin knows exactly what letting down an older brother feels like. but it all happens in the half second before robin squashes it all down and gets down to business because there are more important things to worry about and maybe it's good that can't get caught up in griffin's life like this. to quote eren: "i think the worst part to griffin would be that robin just treats it like a setback. like okay, that's one less tool for you to use, you'll have to make up for that deficiency somewhere, moving on, when he wants robin to react as though it's personal to him that griffin doesn't measure up because it should be, because griffin's not good enough for their father (and robin always rolls his eyes when griffin tries to claim lovell and griffin knows why but lies to himself that he doesn't) so he must not be good enough to this tarnished golden child, the prodigal son that lovell tried to recreate. but no, he's just slightly more ineffectual gear within the revolution now, that's a slight hiccup at best and not an entire childhood snatched away from a boy whose clearest memory of canton is the smell of sesame oil in a wok" 

robin warns griffin about recruiting evie very early on, but doesn't tell him about letty or ramy for a long while because the wound is still fresh. griffin still persists, and robin is forced to whisk griffin out of babel after he kills evie. and he's just a mess whispering "you were right you were right im sorry im so sorry" because robin told him this could happen, but he let love and idealism cloud his judgments with evie, and robin has NEVER seen griffin like this, and any angry berating about griffin's stupid misjudgments die on his lips

griffin/anthony is so so very real. anthony is recruited by victoire separately, so griffin isn't even aware for a while and i think anthony actually held off on telling griffin bc of how close he was with sterling LOL. griffin and sterling had something insane going on at first, with sterling trying to be genuinely sympathetic to griffin's plight as an attempt to distinguish himself from his uncle's legacy, before the years drive them apart and griffin becomes aware that everything sterling conceded to him was merely lipservice. anthony and griffin get really close after they realise the other is already apart of hermes and post-evie as well. eren writes sterling as a critique of armchair radicals who see a sliver of violent liberation in practice and easily revert back into believing that the oppressed are savages. evie is a critique of white woman tears <3 i do believe she cries every time someone called her out for saying anything a little racist

yeah um there is way more and we both have comic/fic wips we're working on for the au but i will end this post here because it got so insanely long christ above. thank you so much for the question though i have soooo many thoughts about cohortswap au it's been absolutely taking over my brain

alright so now that we're discussing elder headcanons what are your hcs for ayin :3

OH HEY ANOTHER FEW WEEKS HAVE PASSED BEFORE I ANSWERED THIS. HAHA I live in shame every breathing moment <3

ANYWAY!! AYIN!!! OUR FRIEND!!! THE ULTIMATE DAD\MOM\GRANDMA!!! The one who holds so much pain behind their gentle hands.... one of my favorite elders, right behind Priestess (shhhhh let's ignore the fact she isnt even canon). Let's get right to them!!!!

GENDAQUEEEER I am a firm he\she\they Ayin believer (although it does make writing fics with him a bit tricky lol). idk why, but it makes so much sense, both because I feel like Ayin feels love and appreciation towards all gender expressions, be it feminine or masculine, and because I'm projecting my own gender identity onto em. plus, Ayin was called both a he and a they by tgc, and in one of the game's translations (I don't remember the language, unfortunately), Ayin is called "Prairie grandma" instead of Prairie elder. Overall, I feel like Ayin wouldn't care what pronouns you use for her, he is happy with all (projecting again), and they will wear beautiful dresses and gorgeous suits depending on the mood.

PANSEXULAAAA I don't even have any explanation for this one, I just know it on molecular level.

Youngest child syndrome Headcanon that Ayin is the youngest of three kids, having two older twin brothers. Both because it just… makes sense for him to be the youngest (listen. Half of my headcanons are just vibes.), and because when @grapeless-seeds introduced this headcanon to me (using early beta content where it seemed that some spirit memories were actually memories of the elders, and what we concluded was beta ayin was surrounded by two more spirits that looked a lot like them) I fell in love with it immediately. There are so many funny scenarios that can arise from it, esp if Ayin turns out to be taller than her older brothers. This is also a basis for some of my angst for Ayin too, because out of the other elders, Ayin has the most family still up there in the constellation while she is stuck down there (I'm a "elders are fallen stars who crave to get back home" type of fella)

ARTS & CRAFTS Like to think that Ayin is the type of person to always make some sort of pretty trinkets and stuff, often pairing up with Teth to make them. His favorite type of creation though? Clay pots! All the smaller clay pots you see around her temple are handmade by her :) (even though it does get tricky with their big hands :"D)

Hard of hearing Hard of hearing Ayin headcanon blast! I like to think that the reason they have bells on their temple is so that he can hear their calls better since she would have a hard time hearing them from the village. Originally born from noticing the detail that in his cutscene, Ayin needs to look around before spotting you instead of simply following the sound of our footsteps and the flame. He mostly hears either thanks to a special device created by Teth for him, or through the rumbles of the earth around them. Which leads to-

Is this an avatar reference I forgot to mention this in my Teth headcanon list, but I hc that the elders that appear holding the colored light in the cave of Prophecies can manipulate the respective elements. Even more, they could do so even before they were granted these lights, but it was the lights that allowed them to master the skill. So Ayin, as the holder of Earth, is one of the most powerful elders - she can transform the terrain, make plants grow, lift entire islands into the sky (why do you think their temple is so high up), and even change gravity. If such power fell to any other hands but Ayin's who knows what could have happened? Thankfully, Ayin has a very strong connection and respect for the land, coming from a constellation (the way the stars call their families) of farmers (but that is a whole other can of worms) so you can be sure Ayin can be trusted with it. But if they were to use it aggressively…..

I got my ass kicked, I ain't posting that Both because of Ayin's ability to manipulate earth, AND their sheer size and physical strength, if you somehow manage to get into a physical fight with them, expect your ass to get handed to you on a cute hand made plate. But let's be honest if you somehow manage to get such a calm and gentle person like Ayin to fight you, you deserve everything that comes next.

A single mom who works two jobs...... It's already canon that Flight guide was Ayin's apprentice, but my headcanon extends to Sanctuary guide too, and that for both of them, Ayin was not only a master but a parental figure as well. Even though all the other elders told Ayin that it would be silly to raise ancestor children since the ancestor life span is so much shorter and they will see their kids grow and get old and die before them, Ayin still took on the job because she couldn't let these poor kids have no home, ready to face the pain of their death if just she gets to see them grow old and happy. well… they did die earlier than Ayin…. unfortunately, they also died much, much earlier than they were supposed to and Ayin expected. Oops.

This is the part where we get to the horrors During the height of the darkstone era and the fallout that happened after it, Ayin was caught between a rock and a hard place. On one hand, he longed desperately to get back to the stars and reunite with his family, and that, at the time, was believed to be possibly only through continual darkstone use. On the other, as mentioned earlier, Ayin has a great connection to the land and a great love for creatures and nature. We can even see it in their realm, which is the healthiest, most thriving out of all others. I mean, she has a whole ass sanctuary in the Prairie, so it's clear that the preservation of nature was very important to them. So Ayin was deeply conflicted, wanting to return to the stars but knowing it would be at the expense of the land. This desire to go home was what caused her to go with the continual industrialization at first, and the crushing guilt just made them work harder and harder, running themself thin trying to provide enough light from their realm for the growing demand, because hey, if they work themself to exhaustion, they don't have enough time to dwell if their actions are good! Sleep became their coping mechanism. (Might not be super healthy, but hey! At least it's not DRINKING like in early concept art! I still can't believe they were planning to make Ayin a drunk and that the pots were originally there to contain the drink.)

more horrors Such behavior and Ayin's quiet acceptance of the situation continued up until… it couldn't anymore. Ayin couldn't go on like that anymore, she saw her land and her neighbor's lands fall to ruin, more and more people becoming sick, a war waging taking more and more resources and lives…. and the catalyst for it all was the death of both of her apprentices, who died protecting the very same things she taught them to protect. That was the final straw. And Prairie officially joined the resistance.

Oops, still horrors. So you remember that cut-out beta part of the Aurora concert where we saw the elders on the battlefield during the war, with Ayin with Daleth being on the side of the resistance? Yeah, it's a pretty cool basis for this headcanon, BUT ACTUALLY, this idea came to me so much earlier, IN A DREAM. I am not even joking, I had a dream 3 years ago where Ayin was fighting in the war. Speak of Apollo and his prophetic visions, huh? Do you remember how I mentioned that Ayin would be terrifying to fight against due to her control over earth? Yea, let's just say the giant craters on the battlefield in GW weren't always there.

Doomed middle aged yaoi An extension to the previous point, I'm a Tsadi x Ayin fan, and seeing how Tsadi appeared on the other side of the battle on that one cut out segment... well, do what you will with it.

okay back to normal stuff Ayin is really great at putting children to sleep, even the most energetic ones. there is just something about the softness and warmth of his body and the general calming vibes around her that make young children relax. Was really helpful to Priestess when the little twins were full of energy all too late when she had none.

Grandma instinct Don't say you're hungry next to them. Ayin WILL cook a "all you can eat" buffet for you if you do. No one is going hungry if Ayin can help it. Honestly, I know this hc sounds very joky, but I genuinely love the healthy relationship with food Ayin has. It really helps me to not worry about calories and weight gain. I know Ayin would want me to be well fed and eat tasty food first and foremost. :3

ANDDD this concludes my list for now! In truth, I have so, so much more headcanons about Ayin, but Im getting tired typing all that, besides, many of them will need a much bigges exposition about my world building and general world headcanons for Sky. Hope you enjoyed reading those!

so, because i mentioned before that i have furry designs of everyone (even moreso than im planning to showcase here, the others are just gonna have to come w time i think, this shit is scary to admit LMAO) but they might be hard to identify without proper explanation. oh, and cw for nudity, i guess, i had to draw a picture of gabs w/o clothes because i needed a proper reference for his markings/gold stripes.

so we're starting w the blue bitch itself. uhh, let's establish this rq- i have nicknames for everyone. *everyone.* i usually just call it "vee" or "vibri." idk how these accumulated. sometimes, i'll use other pronouns as slang for it, usually being "he" or "she." i don't see it as either male nor female, these are just because i like the sound of these words LOL.

as you can see, i get pretty varied w my art and depictions of these guys. the top one is the newest sketch, but the other two are pretty good so i included them anyway :3 ive started making it's wings more frilled/feather-like, but they are still the same material. i just like the way it looks.

the next one we'll be talking about is the evil red thing- again, w the nicknames, we usually just call her "two," and again w the pronoun thing. i like she/her-ing it, though.

i'm not sure what animal it is!! i think either a bunny or a jerboa. some kind of prey animal, but not exactly meek. rabbits aren't pushovers, if you didn't know, they're very fierce little things. these are all kinda old, seeing as i don't draw her as often as. well.

you guys are gonna have to get used to me calling him nicknames as well, because it's just funny to call a grown man cute nicknames. so. gabby.

he may be hard to initially identify, obviously, but if you're confused, i did plan for that!

i like drawing the armor, but i'm usually drawing more casual situations, and i uh. don't feel like drawing allat. sorry LMAO. plus i like his face markings, i think they're pretty!!

OH and the halo is dynamic. it changes depending on mood, and how he's presenting (w the more "classic" pointy look being more for formal occasions.) i strayed a lot from canon w his design, in that i typically have his face uncovered and put him in pretty dresses, as opposed to the armor. he's fun for me to draw, so it'll be mostly him and vibri that you'll be seeing ;w;

here's some other examples of the big man himself (oh, and the last one, uh, naked jumpscare, its a ref for his patterns/stripes. i give him a lot of those.) (the one w the safe is in reference to a joke me and my friend have going on fffucking roblox, where we steal from people, and generally cause problems, hence the odd outfit for vibri. its the most recent armor reference i have :shinijchair:)

even this pattern ref is a little outdated, because i've started making his tail color-shift as well!! its more of a feather-fan now.

Okay so this is gonna be long info dump on some world building on the hive i've developed so tldr: they're still sisters!

Gonna have to get into how i think a society based on bees would uniformly raise their young.

Babies and children

Bees are spend their first few years in the nursery. This is the larva (baby and toddler) stage. Pre school kind of thing.

Once they've pupated (usually between the ages of 4-6) they will join a dorm system with other bees their age, usually from a different nurseries than the one they grew up in to facilitate building new relationships etc. Each dorm holds six bees, and barring any issues these bees will live with each other until they become teenagers. These groups are referred to hexads, and are used to schedule meals, outings, lessons, of groups easily.

Teenagers

using teenager to mean 11+ and not yet an adult

So once kids "graduate" primary school essentially, with ages varying due to how some people mature faster than others and excel in some ways but not others etc, they enter the "working stage" which is actually just chores really lol.

Hexads will get mixed up again based on personality, interests, academics, etc. and bees will move into "big kid" dorms.

Now on top of schooling they will begin "working." So based on how honeybees cycle through jobs during their life, teenage bees will learn and work various jobs under the supervision of adult bees who have chosen that job as a career. This how teenagers begin earning spending money, gaining work experience, learning life skills, etc.

So the three jobs that all bees work in for some period of time is:

Nursery Childcare - caring for Larva and pupa (babies and toddlers). This is for bees around 11-13 years old. IE government ordered babysitting lol

Hive Care - for ages 12-15. This is a group of like, basic maintenance and upkeep duties. Bees will clean, cook, and fix minor things. Basically this is just chores lol.

Factory - The last stage, for bees around 13-16 years old, is to assist in the production, storage, and distribution of honey for the hive. (Fun fact: This is also where they learn advanced flying techniques! based on that fact that theres an "obstacle course" puzzle in the factory.)

so by the age of 16-19 bees have a basic education similar to human standardized education, as well as basic life skills. At this point they are free to choose a career, further education, try other jobs/trades, etc. They are also free of the dorm system, and may request individual or group apartments in the hive.

Families in Bee Culture

While we don't officially know much about bee culture, we know that Bianca views herself as a mother and all the bees as her children. We also know from Vi that bees don't view each other as siblings unless they are actually close and have a familial relationship.

Adult bees that develop a familial relationship with a child bee can basically request to be their guardian, if they can prove that they are capable of ensuring the child will have equal or better quality of life, and that guardianship will not interfere with their education/working.

I figure that in canon, Jaune and Vi became really close during Jaune's late teen years (jaune is probably between 4-8 years older than vi maybe). I think that Jaune likes kids and did a lot of tutoring or watching the primary age kids, maybe teaching them to fly? Anyway she and vi got close and jaune got guardianship so that she and vi would still be close even while she was attending art school etc etc

How test tube vi's upbringing differed

in this au Vi isn't allowed in the nursery, and is never a part of hexad. This is a combination of how HB needed to keep a closer eye on her due to Vi's genetics not presenting how they thought she would, Vi not knowing her strength when she was young, and that Vi physically and mentally developed much slower than other bees for the first several years of her life.

(This is because Vi "hatched" as a young bee and not a larva. It took some time for her body and brain to catch up on the early development she missed.)

Now, Vi snuck into see other kids anyway, though only once she was sure she wouldnt hurt anyone again, and only to hang out with younger kids who didn't know who she was/weren't scared of her.

So Vi was essentially home schooled by HB and Crow, leading to her poor social skills, lack of friends her age, etc.

Vi finished all of her education early, and flew through the working skills as well (since shed been lowkey babysitting the young kids for ages, and been taught how to fix all the things she broke) since she basically only had the factory to do. Vi basically qualified for adulthood around the age of 12-13.

HB gets permission for Vi to leave the hive early because of this so that Vi can become and explorer.

And finally, Vi and Jaune

So when Vi has always like exploring and discovering things, which was a problem because she was Very Very good at getting out of standard baby gates and precautions. So jaune actually encountered vi and thought she was recently pupated bee who might have gotten snuck out into the older kids area.

All sorts of shenanigans ensue until someone realizes that this is HBs experiment and not a "real bee." And Vi is removed and forbidden due to damage and injuries she caused. Juane thinks its stupid and basically gets permission to have her babysitting duty assigned to Vi.

Jaune and Vi are much closer than in canon, but tend to "fight" and tease each other more. Jaune and Vi still get into a big argument about Vi exploring, but HB manages to mediate and Vi parts on good terms (with those that like her anyway) with the hive this time.

Jaune writes letters to Vi about gossip with little drawings on them and Vi sends Jaune descriptions of the places shes been and little trinkets, like sand from the ant kingdom, a pressed plant from snakemouth den, etc.

When Vi visits Juane, Jaune show hers the paitings she's made from Vi's descriptions. They get into arguments on whether the inaccuracies are Juane's fault for being a bad artist or Vi's fault for being a bad writer and they end the day covered in paint from teasing each other and making the painting more accurate. They help each other get the paint out of their fur and Juane sends Vi off to her teammates with goodies for them all to share.

Small Vent cause stressed ahhhh

Lowkey think people take games, anime, books,movies, shows and just fandoms in general waaaay too seriously.

Like yes I get it, it can suck when a character to adore gets misrepresented by others. But they are just fictional characters at the end of the day. Maybe I'm just mostly saying this to myself to remind myself that it's okay that someone doesn't see a character like how I do. Because I'm deadass in multiple fandoms where we really just go but wild with our own versions of the characters. Like I'm in the Warrior cats AND the My hero academia fandom... And both of them are known for taking the canon and wiping their buts with it and or ignoring older material. Because well it just happens.

At first I use to get upset about it like how the warrior fandom made Bramblestar out to be this abusive monster without acknowledging the archs before hand and how in My hero academia doing.... Literally anything lmao(I love y'all though... Half of you anyway)

But seriously I just started to realize that the fandoms I'm in aren't My fandoms like I don't own them and I don't own the source material or the IP or whatever. And sometimes you never know why someone images certain characters they way they do. Whether it's for comfort or they think it's funny or they find it attractive or just to annoy people or literally just whatever.

But I always gotta remind myself that hey... THE BITCHES AIN'T REAL LMAO. Why get pressed about how other people illustrate characters. Like seriously I had to sit myself down like I was my own parent and ask myself why do I care about a fictional character being written out of character or drawn with a different design. And I really was just like... Damn yeah why do I care? These artists/writers are having fun and that's what it means to be in a fandom to just have fun.

The only time when I do get serious is when people try to harass others for characters they like because of how they see them vs canon.

Example: I saw this young artist get a bunch of hate comments under a drawing of Bramblestar/Brambleclaw because a massive part of the fandom claimed he was an abuser. Happened again with someone draw Crowfeather x Leafpool fan art because of how seriously people took Leafpool x Mothwing

AND DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED WITH MHA! They harasses the creator of the show sooooo many times in the past and current because of ships :T SHIPS YALL. Like I understand how frustrating it can be to see the show not end up how you wanted it to or not see too characters make out or whateva but God damn... They are fictional characters chill and just enjoy what we have or hell make what you wanted to happen. I literally do it all the time on my other page @purplestaruwu

Hell I'm still upset about how many characters were botched (in my eyes) in warriors, MHA, Naruto, bleach, marvel, DC etc.

But I think the fun in the fandom is making the what it's and creating our own versions of he characters and sharing it with others who feel the same or who just want to enjoy seeing the characters being draw in different designs, Au's, etc

I use to be so stuck up about everything being close to canon... But then I was just like "You know what it's not hurting anyone, you do whatever" and after that I feel like I became more relaxed being in fandoms... At least I try to be sometimes I do slip up but I stopped commenting on peoples different pov or au's or whatever unless I was gonna say something nice like complimenting the art or the writing or how good the plot of the story was.

It just got easier to just enjoy things and to just well not be so aggressive on the internet and not be online so much.

Cause whenever I get made about seeing a fictional character drawn in a way I don't like and I feel the need to say something... I just be like "yeaaah it's time to take a break for the day I think I've been online for too long"

This also goes for real things that happen online too lmao I just learned to take breaks and breath and remind myself that the online world is just that... The online world... And fandoms are just that fandoms...

I'm venting right now because I'm stressed out or more than likely I stressed myself out with because of online crap. And I just wanted to kind of put this here for me and for anyone else who kind of needs that reminder than you don't need to be online so much and you don't need to protect fictional characters or shows or movies or games or whatever it's not worth hurting someone's feelings because that.

but a little more info about it for you! so leo, raph, don and mike are all brothers that lived with their mom... who. has trouble looking after them. just very neglectful. at first i was gonna link their mother to an actual tmnt character but i didn't wanna do tang shen dirty like that so she's just oc really. she's not in it much because after bouncing around foster homes and group homes, the brothers kinda just, strike out on their own, laying low until leo turns 18 so he can properly take care of them :)

casey is raph's slightly older friend. in this au i imagine they met whilst in a group home, getting into trouble together, casey ends up going back into his dad's care (boo) and so after the boys have 'run away' casey offers them a place to stay.

april is in here too! her mom is a foster parent, and at one point, very briefly, she was caring for donnie. in the au, whilst for the most part they've managed to stick together, unfortunately like most cases with kids in foster care, there's been instances where the boys have been split apart (and in this fic itself, where they find themselves separated again...) but we love april and april's mom <3 she doesn't know they're homeless of course otherwise she'd take them in in a heartbeat

murikami is in this fic because i feel like we don't see him often enough in tmnt lol. maybe leo gets a job at his shop or something im not too sure yet but i wanna link murikami to splinter in this fic. which, by the way, splinter isn't their dad in this. again, like i said before, the boys don't have any 'character' parents. they're just some people. we don't need to worry about them lol

but that being said, the boys are blasian in this. i mean, that's pretty much canon at this point anyway but yeah. i have some art i did a while back that i kinda based this whole au off but it's unfinished (like most of my projects lmao) so yeah!

After reading both mangas. I went from "huh, they don't interact as much as I thought" (game only), to "ohhh Isaac absolutely had a crush, it's canon" (MF manga), to "so you two were banging, weren't you" (PtR) like, have you seen the way they look at each other while fighting. man

• my thoughts:

I think they could have been good friends, even boyfriends, had they met anywhere but in Dracula's castle. The problem is that Dracula's castle was the only place that could accept them.

At first their differences drew them to each other: Isaac brought Hector out of his shell and acted as his senpai, Hector restrained Isaac from getting into serious trouble (not all the time lol). They'd banter and flirt and grow closer to each other, believing that only they could understand each other like no one else would.

But then, as they grew older, those same differences drew them apart. Hector became proud if not a touch arrogant. Isaac became too unsympathetic. Isaac also lashed out in pain over being the unfavorite one, while Hector felt alienated for his rebellious thoughts. And eventually, they realized... that they never truly connected after all. They just thought they did because they had no one else.

Imagining them when they were younger and full of hope :'D

I just like the Lord/knight aesthetic they have. I like the idea of Hector willingly swearing loyalty to Mathias, Dracula's humanity, the part of him that Hector always appreciated; and I like the idea of Mathias being so taken away by Hector's mental strength (which he sorely lacks) and swearing to be a better Lord for him than Dracula.

• What makes me happy about them:

The Parallels™ and the small height difference

Hector is already sweet to his beloveds, Mathias also comes off as someone who is so so tender with the few people he cares about, and that's how you get a recipe for tooth-rotting fluff and devotion <3

• What makes me sad about them:

Their relationship is doomed to be fleeting because they'd have to return to their respective time period, and Mathias will eventually become Dracula and hurt Hector and love him in a twisted way.

The whole idea, in general, is that they have a short story, but it matters to both of them. It definitely matters to Hector, who will carry the memories for the rest of his life. With Mathias... he'll forget, in part. But for that short time, it was a comfort.

They cute lol. Honestly, it's just that. They cute. They're good friends, Amy has mellowed out a little from her "SONIC MARRY ME" days (I don't like when her crush is completely erased, but the 2000s were hard times), and Sonic appreciates her a lot and trusts her even when he doesn't understand her reasons. They're both very friendly and optimistic, but they express it in different ways, with Amy being far more extroverted and emotional than Sonic: sometimes they clash, other times they complement each other.

• What makes me happy about them:

The closeness :) Again, in recent portrayals they have chiller vibes, what I would expect from old friends.

• What makes me sad about them:

The 2000s. And that one scene of Sonic pushing Amy's face away in Generations. And the ship wars.

Depicting Sonic as overly schmaltzy and romantic, all kissy kissy and huggy huggy lol. Sonic isn't like that. He's very introverted and more subtle in his affection.

I'm happy that I never encountered a Sonamy fic where Shadow is bashed in the same way Amy is bashed in Sonadow fics or Sonic is bashed in Shadamy fics, but I'm sure they exist and I hate it on principle.

well, since we're already here i'm gonna talk my nults stormpanther hopes and dreams

what i want to happen is t'challa and ororo grow closer despite their partners (t'challa's wedding isn't even one of love anyway, and they've already implied he's attracted to ororo, so that part is already underway) and it eventually gets too much and they end up cheating. what i love the most in a ship is always characters who are deeply obsessed with each other to they point they end up fucking up their own/other people's lives simply because they can't keep their hands off each other, and nothing says that like double adultery <3 i actually thought this is what was going to happen when t'challa said he was gonna send killmonger and okoye together on a mission, but then ororo decided to go instead and now i'm not so sure. she actually doesn't seem to give much of a fuck about t'challa, which really puts a damper on my plans (also i really dislike ships where there's an obsession but it's not mutual, so if it wasn't for how much i loved and miss 616 stormpanther i probably wouldn't even be shipping this version)

what i actually think will happen is that okoye is revealed to be a traitor (it's either her or shuri, lbr, but shuri, being t'challa's sister, has a more unique role in the character ensemble, while okoye's role could easily be filled by a combination of shuri and ororo) and killmonger dies (maybe even killed by okoye), so stormpanther kinda rely on each other to get through these hard times. which is also nice, but i like the double cheating better ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

there is obviously a possibility they don't even get together at all, but you put this character in a loveless marriage and then bring on his most iconic - and fan-favourite - love interest from the main universe, now free of all the ties that prevented them from remaining together in the long run then (namely her being an x-men character), and want me to believe they're not gonna be romantically involved???? it'd be like have nults peter married to gwen or felicia: yeah it's still an interesting possibility to explore, but it's stupid to waste the chance of giving fans what they want while not messing with the current mainline status quo

(i know they're in the same avengers team rn but i haven't really looked into what's going on there bc i don't want to get my hopes up lol. but we now live in a world where the avengers and the x-men are about as popular, so maybe crosseditorial ships will finally have an actual chance. speaking of which...)

sometimes i think one of the ways i generally avoid shipping discourse or ship wars within fandoms is mostly by being a multishipper

you can ship these characters with anyone! i don't have to always like it, though there are many pairings and throuples, and polycules i enjoy a lot, but also there are ones i don't always enjoy or like, and... it's fine!

if it makes someone else happy or it entertains them, then that's a fine and okay ship! I DO NOT ATTACH MORALITY TO SHIPPING BECAUSE A MAJOR PART OF IT IS ENTERTAINMENT.

I had a wild time in college discussing crack pairings and strange ship ideas with friends, and it was specifically because it was entertaining to think about, and not because we had any serious attachment to whether these characters "ought to be together" or something. I have shipping goggles and have used them for good, and warned a friend about their writing, "you better watch out, this sounds like an implied ship that you REALLY ARE NOT INTENDING," before.

Anyway, back then, I didn't even ship in hopes that a ship ought to be canon, as much of the fun was ships and pairings not being canon at all. Then, we could break other rules about how that would go, without any expectation that the author would actually put these characters from two different left fields together, AND IT WAS FUN.

The blessed thing about being a multishipper is also that I, implicitly, am fine with not shipping a given character to another, either. lIKE, "Oh, you don't actually ship Sherlock Holmes with anyone because you consider him aroace? Go ahead!!!!"

Heck, you don't even have to come out and defend your ships with me. This is a no-judgement zone. Yeah, some stuff miGht make me uncomfortable, but there's been plenty of characters I don't ship, and other character ships that I don't want to ship, but I see the kernel of why they get shipped, and I'm like, "dang, you're having a good time over there".

I am not even annoyed about shipping in general, I am old and tired. I have lived through the flame wars of the early 2000s internet and have been aware of even older ones of times past. It's fine. I don't mess with it.

This was supposed to be a really short post, but then it got out of hand.

Much of the thrill of shipping is first the entertainment of it, and then the rest is the romance and the character exploration. Heck, I have seen ace pairings before, and you know what? That's the coolest thing ever!

I get why some people don't want to see specific ships tagged with their art: it is very tiring if you have a strong aversion to a certain specific ship, or just find its fans annoying, or just dislike a certain type of ship, and so on. That's fine!!!

I'm not one of those people, I actually like discovering new ships, lol. But, there is nothing wrong with traversing fandom on your own terms! And ,if that means blocking ships you don't wanna see, or putting a "please don't tag" in the text, then that's all OK, too!

I would say that shipping is a part of fandom, it's been there for a long time! And while I so strongly" wish it could be wholly fun again", I know that it wasn't always fun even in the past, either. The flame wars existed back then, and they will continue, too.

But shipping isn't the only way to play with a story or tis characters, and not shipping characters is great, too!

I am always down to see more about characters that aren't romantically or sexually with each other, too!

TL;DR, hi I am a multishipper, and I like shipping in general, because it's fun. Even the ships I think are uncomfy, or ones I don't really jibe with, well: someone else likes it, and I'm not them, so that's OK! You can ship characters and you can not ship characters. All of that is fine! I think multishipping includes choosing not to have a pairing, and that is good, too.

This post is not about when people "take it too far". You gotta learn to make your own boundaries and make use of working within your own boundaries too. I promise you, teenagers have been joking about boy band members dating each other since probably forever. 90% of the time or something, it's not actually that gross, people just do this for fun. People generally start shipping characters (or people, lol) primarily because it's fun.

the idea of "not liking the real characters" wrt to comics is insane to me because of like. the variety of depictions of most characters. no two writers or artist have them exactly the same way, and depending on the story, the same team could work radically differently on, say, a fluffy holiday story (esp. Valentine's day variants) vs. a dark mystery based on current events.

but also because... TV and movie fandoms do this all the time and people just don't complain the same way, trying to tell people they don't get the canon. especially if the fandom is still strong after the end of a TV series or movie franchise, they'll build up a What Happens After That world together, hitting similar beats over and over again or coming to a consensus on what later versions of the character, world, and plot threads would be. it's at best implied in the source material, there's just a vibrant community co-creating art around it. but even for ongoing series that have a specific set of characters to draw from right there

you get people messing with characters' genders, sexualities, races, religions, disabilities, etc. and using that to explore all kinds of stories. you get people going: okay, what if these two characters hated each other, actually. what if these two got along. what if the team were friends since they were kids, or what if they were all picked to be on a reality show and just met. these ones are in love. these ones were never in love. this one wouldn't even be in love anyway because they're aromantic. this one would be in love with several more people once removed from the canon context telling them not to be, or some plot element that scared them, or some character trait they needed to cultivate for backstory reasons.

and like... this is the point of fanfic and fandom. to ask what if and change little points of the story, sure, but also to ask what if and change one or a few characters completely, put in an entirely different plot, set it in a different world, set it in the same world but with such massive changes the original set of characters is largely unrecognizable. to create something that's both familiar and new, fluid, changing and growing with the people it exists for, to speak and share their stories.

and the thing is, that was already the point of comics, anyway. that's why they're so full of alternate realities and potential futures and time travel shenanigans that change the story. retellings of the same familiar narrative with a different tone or from a different perspective. explorations of things that might have happened given a different set of starting criteria - reboots and revamps and redesigns. modernized versions of older stories, in flashbacks and series set in the past. putting whole bunches of characters together to shake things up for a while, in every crossover event. they're cooperative at best, collaborative even when they aren't, and generally function in the exact same way fandom does.

so what's the difference? I mean, we have the obvious one of thinking white men are inherently smarter and more competent at telling the same stories compared to women and people of color - see, for example, how canon stories by women and especially women of color are called fannish or poisoned by fanfic or catering to fans - which fits in with the fan studies theory that masculine fandom is about being right and feminine fandom is about being new. far easier to catalog all the minutiae of a canon and form a rigid hierarchy of the thoughts that it's okay and correct to have about it than ask why someone created the story that they did. to look at a story and see where they got what they got out of it, or why they thought it should have been there when it wasn't. easier to dismiss them as not being knowledgeable enough to speak.

but I think it's mostly driven by the same thing that pits fanfic against original fiction in the general circumstance. the idea that taking stories from, say Law & Order and coming up with new characters, plots, worlds, etc. or spins on the old one is stealing and not creative and lazy writing, but doing with same with Sherlock Holmes is, of course, hard work and should be respected. as if the writing process isn't exactly the same. as if the work isn't exactly the same. but it can't be monetized in the same way, and therefore it isn't valued by a society that wants to put a price tag on every minute of every person's life. that's what drives the idea that these people are allowed to make creative decisions and those people have to respect the decisions made. the dollar buys the right to change something fundamental to the narrative.

because you can look at the acceptable canon compliant activities, which include complaining about every single author that's ever written a particular character; pointing out the faults with the character, plot holes, worldbuilding details that make no sense; saying these are the only good drawings, or these are the better stories, or these are the ones who truly understand the character or story or world, and those other ones are just going through the motions. anything that requires no information synthesis, but just repeating increasingly obscure facts.

because people will take much milder complaints about a story wrapped in the drapery of an elaborate fic and say that person hates the canon and just never liked the character in the first place, sure. but they'll also take commentary on the story and go, well, the author would never agree with what you're reading into it, therefore you're simply reading too much into things and it isn't there. or they go the author couldn't have meant that, because of the time and place of creation of that canon, and so talking symbolism and metaphor and allegory through a modern lens is doing something to the text, harming it in some way. so it's not just fanfic, fanart, and headcanons. it's the audacity of having any thought about a work you weren't explicitly paid to have.

Before I get started though, I need to put in the disclaimer first. No offense meant, just tired of cleaning out my ask box of questions that.. people should but don't always know or understand when reading these.

Here we go again..!

Note (and again before someone else sends me another ask not understanding this): this is not meta I'm talking.. these are canon facts of the universe put on screen and said outright in that on-screen dialogue I'm putting down here. If you're coming across this and confused by that: meta is fan theory around and usually based on, confirmed canon information.. I say usually; because some metas do not pay attention even to what their theorists are pretending to be fans of.

If there's meta, I'll identify it in the same sentence, or at the start of a meta section. Otherwise? These are direct references to events and dialogue in the MCU films: facts and history in their universe and story as presented in those films. Not, meta/theory about that story.

That said, crappy writing, directing and more post-TDW makes some of that canon utter and really murky shit (or a shit-show .. Gagnarok and what followed including the Loki series in particular lol) but yeah. Not theory.. they literally show and tell us this stuff on screen over the course of five to six years of films.

Anyway. By the time Infinity War rolls around finally in 2018; Loki had been king of Asgard for another five years since Darkalfheim's attack back in 2013.

If you're questioning that time frame:

Remember, the events of the end of Gagnarok were back to back with the start of IW: the Statesman is found by Thanos in the end credits scene and the battle of the Statesman is just finishing in the opening scene of IW.

The entirety of Gagnarok happened over the course of one or two weeks regular time. (Regular time is wording used, because Sakaar; on which they spent most of it, is stated outright as running differently time-wise very early in by the Grandmaster: part of why they excuse Loki arriving 2 weeks earlier in their time, after being shunted out of the Bifrost seconds prior to Thor in regular time)

Loki gained the throne at the end of Thor: the Dark World which is chronologically placed at the time of it's release, like the majority of MCU films including Infinity War: placing him on the throne prior to GotG in 2014, during Age of Ultron 2015, during CA:Civil War 2016, and during Dr. Strange 2016-2017: etc, etc.

(side notes on that last point:

Confirmed Canon: Dr. Strange is one of the few in that era that have a much wonkier time allotment, as to when it happens and how much time passes in the film. According to the director and other BTS official quotes, DS1 takes place starting in fall of 2016 and ending after his initial training in MOTMA [Masters of the Mystic Arts] in the following fall of 2017. Meaning that as Ragnarok was slated in time later in that same fall of 2017..

Sort-of, Meta?: ...Strange was met by them at the start of Gagnrok roughly a month [or less than that] after the Ancient One's death and Dormammu's defeat. At this point, Stephen had less than two years of training/learning, even with using Astral projection very night to do so. Which IS important, when you take how mundane/human magic in particular works in the MCU, versus the very different way it has worked in the comics.)

(the above is an older pic and manip from 2016; just after DS1 had released. It displays the Stones' film appearances, then current containment, and wherabouts as of 2016 when the fith of six had finally appeared on film. Space is mislabeled in the last tier, in part likel because Gagnarok hadn't been out yet to remind people the King had a vault.)

Moving on though?

Loki at that point in Infinity War had come into personal direct contact (this wording and difference is important) with not one or two: but three Infinity Stones out of the six:

Mind Stone (contained in the Chitauri Scepter) Loki held and personally wielded throughout the first Avengers films. This was lent to him by Thanos to retrieve the one Infinity Stone he was already most familiar with; listed as number two: BUT. This is not the only interaction he has or intends with it throughout the MCU. Because remember, again: he was the King of Asgard in 2015 during and after Age of Ulron, too. The King of Asgard who sent Thor, who states outright early in the film before Tony really messes with it; that this Stone is intended to go back to Asgard for safe keeping: an idea that is swiftly left behind and never mentioned ever again after Vision's creation: rather than insisting all the more after it's previous intelligence gave extra reason to do so when he dropped an entire city on the planet with the intention of killing Earth's entire population. Mmhm; Loki was that King.

2. Space Stone (contained in the Tesseract) also used by Loki in the 2012 invasion, and several humans [some maybe indirectly] including Eric Selvig and Clint Barton. However! There are two films prior to Avengers 2012 that not only set up the Tesseract's presence and connection to Asgard --whom at those times referenced and direct: Loki is a prince of-- well and prior: enough that, that connection and Loki's already existing knowledge of the Tesseract/Space Stone and it's container is stated outright in A1's first scene through the Other's opening dialogue with it on screen. Literally, they say this and say this is why he was sought out to head the invasion; before any character is shown on screen, and they cut to the Dark Energy facility for scene one in New Mexico with Fury etc. Going back to CAtFA 2011, and Thor 2011 we don't have to guess, we know that knowledge comes from his 1000+ year prince OF Asgard status: which did not end until almost a century after Schmidt, in 2011; and whose visits in the centuries well before Red Skull/Schmidt took it from it's human guardians in the beginning of CAtFA released July of that same year. The Space Stone, and Tesseract which is basically just it's jewelry box/container: remain in Asgard's vault throug the entirety of Loki's 5 year reign, and in his possession after Ragnarok until 2018 when the Statesman is attacked. Loki keeps the Tesseract's presence secret and hidden until Thor's life is seriously threatened with the Power Stone itself.

3. Reality Stone (adapted by Darkalfhiem, into a differing form called 'the Aether':) During Thor: the Dark World, this one was the main plot point of TDW. Later stolen and hidden in the depths of an unknown planet within the nine realms by Bor [Odin's Father,] during the previous Convergence around 3013 BC, the former rock turned energy/liquid/gas ..stuff? (lol seriously, it takes several forms in the film including briefly returning to a solid state near the end: and even briefly shows signs of lower intelligence at the start of the film when it decides to immediately attach itself to Jane without any provocation other than her just.. being there.) While Loki has very little interaction through the start of the film: after Thor goes treason happy again, for better reasons this time.. Loki is literally in it's presence (because it's INSIDE Jane Foster who he's literally been broken out of jail to take to another planet sans Bifrost:) he has not only plenty of contact.. he is one of the last people in contact with it having taken Odin's face and place on the throne. After the Dark Elves are defeated: Loki is of course at that point also the king who sends Sif and the Yes-Men Three, to give the Reality Stone/Aether to Tanaleer Tivan aka The Collector in mid credit scenes, rather than keep it.

Oh, but that isn't all of them. Yet...

Now, that in mind.. and I've discussed this in discord a bit but; timelines and mention of them, and especially understanding the content of the films between TDW and Gagnarok are stupid important here where the Infinity Stones and Loki in particular are concerned, and why I mention them by name and sequence of appearance early in the post.

Because guess what? Three are confirmed direct contact: but over the course of 2012 to 2017? Loki with Odin's face since 2013, came canonically into indirect and knowledgeable contact with at least four of the six, as early as 2014 (GotG): a year after he took said throne. Well.. maybe more than that, but that is technically assumed meta and not technically confirmed: even if canon history in their universe literally makes it NOT being a thing a thousand to one chance...

Meta notes: Maybe and very much more likely; five of the six Infinity Stones; not four: and here's why.

If you consider the Time Stone's presence on Earth for 4k+ years in the hands of MOTMA.. whose entire purpose is stated outright in Doctor Strange as policing if not ending other-worldly threats hailing from (among other places) differing parts of the multiverse (including Dormammu's universe featured in DS1 as the ultimate antagonist above Kaecilius), both potential and blatant?

And, that the Ancient One (TAO) in particular is very likely at least as old as Loki, who along with Thor has been established as visiting the planet well and often enough during her lifetime (see the entire premise of Asgard as a advanced alien society in the MCU rather than actual gods who did that, to be mentioned and featured in Thor 2011 in books [props created and displayed], and Thor's & Darcy's explanation of that; plus the mentions by the Yes-Men Three of visitation doing exactly that, the fact that yes she existed and was in power prior to the 2012 invasion and more) and her tenure as head of MOTMA and keeper/head protector of the Time Stone in particular?

Mordo's reference to her origins and specifically the length of her immortal life during Strange's training among other things puts a pretty interesting spin on the canon for Loki especially and the Stones (and in meta: raises questions as to why she really did not take part in actively repelling the invasion too with her ability to look into the multiple timelines ahead all the way to her 2017 death, including those where the probability did not win in 2012 was also available to her viewing:) Mordo referring to her as a Celt so old and secretive that her age is indeterminate in modern times, tells us this much alone. Add in the fact of how long the time stone has been in their care since at least Agamotto, and been handed down through unknown numbers of generations of human sorcerers since and during both her and Loki's lifetimes: but of course not excluding one of the few who wrote the freaking ancient book Strange picks up to fool with the Time Stone that first run, either..

And well; I mean... lets go through this scenario as it's presented by that canon: Head/gifted sorceress lives multiple centuries during which this other extremely gifted immortal-ish otherworldly sorcerer and his lightning throwing himbo of a foster brother is visiting.. and they never meet? With the stated job premise: and thunder-bro tossing house-burners around ancient civilizations .. MOTMA never approach the alien sorcerer-prince or the likewise alien himbo prince while tossing lightning to stir shit up during the eras when the Inquistions were just starting into if not already IN full, horrifying swing? If only, to ask them to cut it the frick out?

Uh.. hm.

Likelihood of that not happening even once, over the course of one thousand to one thousand five hundred years; especially pre-T1 with Thor's arrogance/self importance and racism mirroring Odin's and amplified to boot, is zero to nil with existing canon, lets be honest.

Still, that bit is solidly unconfirmed in the films and untouched by their creators too.. so that one while very much beyond probable: is sadly very much meta until they do so.

Which I for one am not counting on happening, or being handled well at all if they do, given the current dumb in the studios; and the writers and BTS crews they've been picking to ignore all that literal history and placement in the universe they claim to be creating for: as well as and the stuff below after this foundation was set for them by the creators and writers prior whom: they constantly spit on now, with every 'new' iteration.

But yeah.. next up. Remember how I said that bit about direct contact was an important term?

Power Stone (raw, contained within a restriction orb; and further contained behind energy fields, in the tomb temple of Morag: and later in the Nova Vaults) Did you notice, that Xandar is part of the nine realms? As in, the nine realms Asgard watches over/protects/has treaties varying from very tense 'I would rather kill you' peace, to downright alliance or protectorate status? Again, for the dozenth time in this post.. in 2014 when Xandar --as a part of those nine realms-- was attacked by Ronin with the Power Stone? Loki was still king of Asgard; their ally at the least, and protector at most. He was still king, of Asgard; afterwards, too: for another four years.

This happened very loudly in the Galaxy of over 100,000,000,000 stars! Not planets like Xandar ro Earth or Asgard: stars they orbit.

The monstrously huge Kree empire was involved.

All of Xandar, the Nova Corps at war with that monstrous empire who called Xandar their main home capital planet; was involved.

The Collector and his entire Celestial mining station and museum: was involved.

It was so loudly done, and crossed so many systems from Morag, to Xandar, to their interstellar prison Kyln, to Knowhere and the Collector (who Loki had already given the Reality Stone a year prior,) back to Xandar again, being chased by a galactically renowned rogue general who decided to work for a Universally renowned genocidal eco-terrorist and maniac.. whose likewise infamous 'daughters' were also in the mix, on both sides of the fight?

That by if not well before the events of GotG2 in early 2017, everyone knew exactly who the Guardians were and what they had done on Xandar. To the point they were making a living off that reputation; and said reputation and experiences with the Power Stone: is exactly how Ego knows to look for Peter Quill at all, and eventually finds them as the main antagonist of that film.

Yeah, so.. as king of an interstellar alliance and protectorate keeper, which included Xandar: even if we're being dumb and saying he didn't know prior to that? Loki along with every other advanced civilization in their universe; definitely knew the rock was there afterwards, or at least to look for it there first.

And he did not collect it; to put in the King's vault he was king of along with Asgard's armies; for those next four years, either.

So..yeah. It isn't just his ability being cut down, and down, and down some more; as more hacks like Waldron (who wrote the series including that ignorant proof of his unprofessional and frankly insulting lack of knowledge of the series title and title character in that entire episode 1 'life viewing scene' just as example one through twenty of why that show is a dumpster fire.

It's the entire history of the infinity stones and every film they were in from Captain America July 2011 all the way through to Avengers Endgame in 2019.

His character is most affected and spat on along with it; likely because Loki as a character in the MCU has the most interaction and association with the Stones, period and long before Infinity War's film started rolling in theaters anywhere.

That doesn't mean it's acceptable, that doesn't excuse it in any way shape or form: but it's pretty common dumb in the MCU too in the same breath.. the series and it's writers simply crank that up another few notches.. crappy and insulting to us the audience as that is, to do in his own series.

Just sayin': current creators outside of those who took part in and spent their time to create those foundations prior to Taika's crap hiring kicking it off? Haven't given a shit about the MCU project as a whole, or the parts in they have been hired to do in building the next piece on top of, that foundation.

And Micheal Waldron, his buddy hire for S2 writer Eric Martin, director Kate Herron and her buddy hire for the scary manly sue amalgamation they made of the Sylvie Lushton character, Sophia Di Martino; have been and still are very loud about openly stating as much in Taika's same disrespectful and dismissive flavor; in official interviews, on the bird app, on their instas, and more.

Most of these fools still have their jobs, while at it. Waldron is not just still writing for Disney and the MCU; they gave him the Doctor Strange sequel that failed to BE a sequel to the 2017 title.

And studios have since announced to our dismay --to most actual fans, not mcu-disney/feige religious zealots mind you-- that he's being given the next Avengers film as a reward instead of being fined and fired for not doing the job, and NOT keeping them out of the range of class action lawsuits for falsely advertising what the series was at Cons and more for the two years prior to it's airing. 👍

☆ I'm stupid but finally I have proof!!! ☆

orz or not/// urrrkkkk I thought I did, but somehow I can't feel convinced.

I dunno who all remembers my post asking if anyone knew Yoosung's canonical height in the Valentine's after story and that I'd found a couple images circulating the internet stating that he had grown to 5'11'' or something, which I've still never seen proven.

See, I've come back to this tangent because my loser meticulous ass decided to start making a character style sheet of him for essentially no real reason only excused by "research" for my art, when I already know my mind just sometimes demands to study data points and overanalyze everything.

Anyway, originally my brain clicked and I realized Yoosung's arms are present in both his sprite images. I measured his wingspan because I remembered wingspan roughly equates to the height of that same person, and the arm lengths were the same.

Of course the thought that they just.. used Yoosung's old sprite when they made his older version sprite.. Made me want to keep looking. I thought to myself, man I need to find a point of reference. Is everyone's skulls roughly the same height? No, right? The 7 1/2 to 8 heads rule... did not work for Zen's full body reference... orz He ended up being like... 9 1/2 of his own heads. Then I thought, "What age does one's skull stop growing in height size?" Google didn't have much for satisfactory answers, merely alluding to the idea that the skull stops growing to it's full size capacity at around 16-18, but will keep changing otherwise throughout life. But that 16-18 just kinda sounds like it grows in proportion to the rest of you, full body height included. Then, I thoght "Eye balls?? Don't they pretty much stay the same size all your life?" I think this would be the closest indicator if he grew, and they do match up one to one when sized up.

Somehow, still didn't feel secure in my findings. I had another click moment while google searching Mystic Messenger heights images. I remembered the visual novel mode has the heights comparable to the other characters. Then I giggled jovially as I set up the visual novel reference of Yoosung standing next to Seven, then him in the Valentine's After Story. ohohohoho I got it this time, I thought to myself.

I'd also say this is some pretty solid proof that he didn't grow any taller, but I still had to keep in mind that they very obviously used the same base. I thought about how his face seemed narrower, but then I realized they copied and flipped the side of his face that showed his ear to accommodate his hair change, though.. the neck from the other side was copied and flipped too actually...

On that thought, I became somehow curious about his dimensions again, "for research", trying to find his waist line under all the baggy clothing he tends to wear. I think back to how he said he used to be fat, and considering... For one, he weighs almost 20 lbs more than Saeran (Y 149 -> S 130) who is actually an inch taller than him (Y 5'7''-> S 5'8'', an inch shorter than his own twin.), but also Saeran is pretty frail. Saeyoung is 2 inches taller than Yoosung, but only a kg heavier, which is potentially muscle (Potentially *le shrug*). To my knowledge Yoosung doesn't do much for exercise or weight training, if not a sufficient amount at all. Of course we all carry our weight differently, so that's absolutely a thing.

If you take BMI into account, which is a bit more accurate if you don't do weight training, honestly, I'm not entirely sure where he is carrying the weight. lol

I did actually look into examples of real people with the same sizes as Yoosung, and yeah, not a single one of them was without some softness, especially around the mid section, which could explain the baggy clothes... Yoosung's calculated BMI was 23.2, which according to asian BMI charts is pretty much at the cusp of normal and overweight (It does matter, supposedly Asians carry weight differently than western ethnicities and are susceptible to weight related illness at lesser weight/ body fat indexes than western people as well. Says medicine. On average. Apparently their bone mass tends to be less dense as well.) Of course, based on this data, I'd say Yoosung is pretty safe, but of course the sedentary lifestyle and consumption of not so healthy foods could be a cause for concern. I kind of came to a soft conclusion that Yoosung did used to be in what would be considered "over weight" territory before, but considering how beauty standards can be over there, I venture to wonder if it was like... 10 to 20 lbs heavier. If I were to guess, the weight pretty evenly distributed throughout his body, probably mostly in the mid section, as it tends to more so in men, then a bit more in the thighs, and a bit more in the upper arms. Of course to the pinchable cheeks. :9 I dunno man, his full body sprite looks so skinny to me lol.

If I were to consider the waistline I originally came up with, which was mainly based on his Valentine's after story, it does seem like he potentially lost more weight since getting into a relationship. That makes sense to me, as it was insinuated that together with his partner, he became more active and most probably ate more healthy foods. (I cry, it seemed like he doesn't really play games anymore by the Valentines after ending. T__T I'll just choose to believe he'll still game from time to time if his partner is also a gamer.) Come to think of it, looking at that gif comparing his VN sprites, his face really is narrower...

Personally, I embrace soft Yoosung. I'd bet he'd still be just as cute as he always is, and squish♥. :"3 But mostly of all, I'd want him to be as healthy as he can be and happy for a very long time (forever!) ♥

So I had this big idea of something I wanted to do for my mutuals. So basically, my love language is gift-giving, right? I wanted to draw a headshot and a little sketch page of the yuusonas/yuus (or just any character of my mutuals) and gift it to them!! Either for being my mutual and putting up with my incoherent daily screaming or whatever.

Now here's what happened:

Life happened, not enough time happened, and at one point I started to really dislike how I drew the current headshots :')))). My style had begun to change when I looked back on this and it bugged me so much that I'm currently abandoning this batch and starting from square one again orz.

Regardless, the characters (in order from left to right) belong to @ai-0uch, @twstlibrary, and @twstedstoryshop !! So sorry that I didn't do your characters justice

But anyway, if you want separate headshots of them lmk! Trust me, I'll do them right one-day orz
