watch columbo in 2021 while building felix specifically because Columboposting was A Thing around then for some reason and I was looking at those posts like '... wait, did I accidentally build freelance gnome columbo' (the answer was 'not really,' but they are now inextricably linked in my mind)

eventually play felix, a little bit in his OG campaign and then a lot recently in-person, in the process beginning to discover some of his body language, bearings, and mannerisms which include things like leaning forward a lot, cocking his head when he's looking at someone, and wringing his hands (autistically, not nervously)

see a post on tumblr about a show that's 'basically japanese columbo' with a link right in the post so I actually watch it instead of letting it languish forever in the purgatory of 'it's on my list'

#what happened...#this is just what 'funny little guy (who sticks his nose annoyingly into your business {to solve mysteries})' looks like maybe #as a character furuhata is not extremely similar to felix BUT... he IS a lot more like him than columbo lol #the thing about felix is that he's simply not suited to a 'howcatchem' mystery format #he's more on the scooby-doo end snooping and uncovering things rather than Asking A Lot Of Questions Incessantly #columbo and furuhata both have 1) audacity and 2) the right to be here and not get thrown out because they're detectives #for felix insp I'd need to be getting into whodunnit mystery adventures which is a whole different type of thing #FRANKLY probably something like rereading some nancy drew because adult mysteries are so often murder mysteries lol #BUT TO BE FAIR. I'm not WATCHING furuhata ninzaburo for FELIX I'm watching it because it sounded good (and it is)#(and I'm enchanted with furuhata) (unrelated to any similarities with blorbo from my mindscape)#this is just really funny to me kfjghfd he keeps moving around the set in a way that's like [leo pointing] I DO THAT!
