So that is the most unlike Lan to ever Lan. The new terror that keeps Uncle awake as his second disciplinary failure in his teaching career. The boy who is close friend with A-Yuan. The boy who Brother considers as his second nephew.

The boy who never dared until now talking to Wangji, by which Wangji tries not to feel hurt.

The boy who is still in the Jingshi, way past haishi, looking after A-Yuan's slight fever.

“So Hanguang-Jun, you're really not haunting the Cloud Recesses?”

Wangji blinks. “No.”

“Great! You're much less scary now that you aren't a ghost.”

#the untamed #cql #100 moons away #had to introduce lan jingyi #in the novel i think he is scared of ghosts but there's no mention of that really in cql #but he is also older in cql bc 16y have passed not 13 #and bc this is more cql universe anyway #so i decided to make young ljy scared of ghosts #which is why he fears lwj the local goth who plays songs to invoque souls and who has a resting bitch face and impressive fighting skills #(also slight commentary towards lwj being more peaceful & more alive now than he was a few years ago)#*finger guns*#jingyi has sworn loyalty to his friend and will stand in front of his Scary Dad if that means he can see a-yuan #now that jingyi knows that lwj isn't that scary he hangs out more and more in the jingshi #where the rules are 'don't trust the rules all the time and do what seems just and right for you' basically #so jingyi can be as loud as he wants and freely speak his mind which has not only the benefit of making a teenager happy #(and a second one by having his best friend at home more often)#but also the benefit of definitely putting the last nail in lqr's disciplinary failure #well 'failure' it really depends on the point of view #also consider lwj having flashbacks from the first time he met a-yuan and he made him cry by looking... stern.#and the first thing jingyi tells him is basically 'yeah i was scared of you but now you're okay ig'#(if you want to cry imagine lwj hearing wwx laughs and tells him to stop scaring children with his face)#i hc that a-yuan often fell sick during the winter as a child but it went better with the years #btw yeah i'm still sick too but now that i went to the doctor and got meds to treat the symptoms i'm doing better! yay!#am i gonna try and push my luck to post two drabbles today? yes!#will i be able to do it? i don't know but we'll find out ig #also i'm thinking about writing a whole one shot of that scene bc. i have Ideas To DevelopTM but that'll be for later
