Actually very funny that in the Only Band In the World the author was (affectionately) like "yeah so the clique is basically a cult but it's cool it's fun" and we also joke amongst ourselves about being a cult & now we're getting a bunch of letters from random Dema citizens (/banditos) who sound like they've started/are recruiting for an underground revolutionary movement which heavily idolizes Clancy, who in-lore is responsible for all the music we've been hearing, in a way you could perhaps consider cult-like in the same way some people consider irl music fandom to be cult-like. Aria and Barea and Jansen you're just like me for real

#im so so so fascinated by these letters i need to know more about these characters l #like im assuming timeline wise they were written between overcompensate and paladin but Who Knows it could also be after paladin #depending on the circumstances #or like for years across the whole lore timeline bc we know clancy had a big enough reputation to be imprisoned #also Cannot stop thinking about the one addressed to karta about stained skin and ''what we do down there''#or the fact the papers are all ripped up and mangled looking #and have the dema stamp on them and are numbers which basically confirms they're demaorg evidence #makes me worry #twenty one pilots #clancy spoilers #(also ftr i do not think the clique or any music fandom is a cult & i kinda actively hate that the term has been watered down so much #it's just funny to me bc the fpe letters do give the vibe that clancy is like A Martyr or A Saint of some kind to a lot of people #in a way that feels probably intentionally like A Parallel to me)
