How long had it been since she had been taken? Ruri couldn't tell. The passage of time in the Fusion Dimension seemed forever stagnant. Perhaps that was due to the fact that she has been trapped in this tower overlooking the sea ever since her arrival, not once being allowed to leave. Instead, she's had a few reoccurring visitors come in to provide her anything she should require. Anything but her freedom that is.

The most frequent of her visitors was the soldier who had been assigned to guard her tower. He was known as Yuri, a terrifying duelist who shared the face of her dear friend and ally Yuto who was the one who kidnapped her to begin with. Just seeing him sent a mix of fear and anger down her spine, despite how polite he was with her.

During his visits he would often request a duel, something about wanting to alleviate his boredom. In exchange, he'd offer her a prize of her choosing if the XYZian managed to defeat him, a feat that was close to impossible considering their difference in skill level. He was a trained soldier. She was a duelist who dueled for the fun of it or out of self-defense. Her lack of strength was what allowed her to be taken originally to begin with, as he often reminds her of.

His taunts only made her try harder however, and with every game, she got closer and closer to victory. She studied his patterns and strategies in the same way Shun would always do when preparing for games, planning counteracts and defenses to shut down any advantage. Ruri never thought she'd get into a mindset like his, one that went against her own dueling philosophy, but desperate times called for desperate measures.

And her hard work over this period has paid off, with Yuri's life points all but dropping to zero in a single beautiful turn of power from her Lyriluscs. Defeating her opponent in one turn, otherwise known as a OTK, was not something she enjoyed doing. But considering his raw power, beating him as quickly as possible before he can bring out his ace monsters was the only path to victory open to her that she had to take.

"Yuri." Ruri says with a tired breath, staring at him with fuchsia eyes that burned with a bright determination. "You said if I won I could ask for anything in your power, right? Well, what I want is...to see Yuto!"

Her request might sound strange at first, but she is well aware he knows what she is referring to. "I've...I've sensed him when you're around lately. I don't know how or why...but I know you two are connected somehow! That means you must know where he is! So, please bring him here! Right this instant!"
