The 8-minute and 29-second video started with lofi music over an advertisement for marvel hoodies that everyone seemed to promote, before a sound of glitching television sounded and the video started.

The video started with Andrew and Zendaya’s Actor on Actor interview when they first started talking about Zendaya’s performance on Euphoria.

“Makes me want to cry. I didn’t feel like there was any acting. It felt like you were living through something in such an authentic way,” Andrew said, “And I remember I watched episode 5 with Y/N—with my girlfriend, and she was just like, ‘Andy, can you check up on Zendaya?’”

Zendaya smiled, being her usual self who got flustered at any compliment or praise, “She did text me that night, I remember.”

“She did,” he nodded, “She was so heartbroken over the episode.”

The video then moved to show Andrew during his Wired Autocomplete interview, the foam board in his hand as he took off the sticker that hid the question.

“Does Andrew Garfield sing in Tick, Tick…Boom?” He read, “So, Andrew Garfield does sing in Tick, Tick…Boom, yes. Thank you,” he answered, “I worked very, very closely with an amazing vocal coach, Liz Caplan, and all of Lin Manuel Miranda’s amazing musical direction team. They enabled me to open my voice up to the point where I could honor Jon’s songs and feel confident enough to belt them out as he always did when he was doing his one-man show,” he nodded slight, “It was a privilege to be able to learn a skill that I’ve always wanted to attain but my girlfriend wouldn’t really agree,” he chuckled, looking at the camera, “Y/N’s had enough of my singing, because every time I’d learn something new, it’d be the only thing I’d be doing around our home and she’s incredible, she has a job that she needs to focus on and rest from, but I was always there singing and annoying her,” he laughed, “She’s a gem for putting up with me.”

Another clip then played as Andrew read Buzzfeed’s thirst tweets, headphones on his ears.

“Andrew Garfield if you see this on your secret Twitter account, I’m free this weekend if you want to get lunch or drinks or something, just let me know. If you want to do it earlier, I can do dinner during the week,” he chuckled as he read the tweet, “But I’m usually busy before six,” he finished with a laugh, leaning back in his seat, “I love that. That’s very, very—I like hyper-vigilance. I like specificity of plans,” he said, “But I’m going to have to give you a rain check on that because I’m actually busy on the weekend, unless you want to join in on my girlfriend and I’s date, then it’s fine by me,” he laughed, “I can do lunch during the week though, but we’re going to have to have that at Y/N’s office because that’s where you’ll usually find me having my lunch.”

The clip then moved to Andrew on the Ellen show, getting asked about Spider-Man: No Way Home, and having to lie to people.

“Who knew? Beside your agent, who knew that you were doing this? I mean, how hard is that? To keep it to—I mean, your family knew?” Ellen asked him.

“Yeah, my dad, my brother, and my mother at the time,” he answered with a smile, “Yeah, just kind of us. It was fun to keep it secret,” he grinned, “Because you know when you’re planning a surprise birthday party for someone, and then you’re like, tell me, you know I hate surprises, but I can see it on your face that you’re just like ‘I’m not gonna tell you’,” he shook his head with his wide grin, “So it felt like I was part of organizing a surprise birthday party for a bunch of people whom I knew would appreciate it.”

“Did your girlfriend know?”

Beaming even more, “Y/N had no idea,” he said, laughing, “And—lying to the media, to the fans, that was easy and fun, but lying to my girlfriend has got to be—it was one of the most agonizing and terrible things I have ever done.”

“You lied to her for what? Two years?”

“Technically, it was a year and a few months,” Andrew pointed.

“And how—how did she take that? I’d be pretty offended.”

He laughed, shaking his head, “She wasn’t, she wasn’t. I knew she’d appreciate it because she knows how I feel about my experience with the character, and it was—I’ll tell you something,” he sat up, smiling, “It was worth every single moment where I had to tell her I was shooting for another movie when I saw her reaction when we went to watch it together,” he said, “We had to watch it again because she couldn’t really focus after I was on screen,” he laughed, “But yeah, it—it was definitely hard having to lie to her, and it definitely made her tease me about trust for a while, but she supported me throughout without even knowing.”

The clip then moved to the last one, being from a recent interview with GQ of 10 things Andrew can’t live without.

In a t-shirt and sporting a full beard, he held a silver necklace with a compass on it.

“This is a necklace with a compass on it,” he said, holding the necklace in his hands before the camera zoomed on it before it showed him again, “My girlfriend Y/N gave this to me in a period where I needed to trust the direction I was going, even if I didn’t know where I was going,” he chuckled, looking at it, “It’s become such a symbol of our relationship because in a way, to me, it feels like it navigates us both back to where we have always met, toward our common interests and our differences that initially made us attracted to each other. But she’s always been very persistent on her support for me and my journey in my career, and my journey as a person, so this necklace is just a reminder from her that the direction I’m headed in is always one I can find value in,” he smiled, “My relationship with Y/N is very essential to me. She’s just—She’s truly my person, and this necklace is a symbol of the deep connection we have with each other.”

A/N: This is the second of the three drabble requests I got. I hope you like it!

Taylor has been in the other room setting up for some kind of photoshoot so you thought you would get some live streaming time in.

It is about an hour later when Taylor comes in to ask, "Did you just follow me?"

Pausing the game you are playing, you take off your headset, turning your attention to Taylor.

"What was that?" You ask curiously with raised eyebrows.

"Did you just follow me?"

The look of guilt is easy to read on your face as all the blood drains from it. You know you have been caught so you do what you always do in situations like these.

Ramble.

"Err… no. Psh, I've always followed you. I'm your biggest fan. From day one. What's that thing people say? Day ones? I'm the number one of number ones. It's like number one was invented but I exceed tha-"

Taylor runs over to you and pounces into your lap giggling, "I can't believe you weren't following, your super hot girlfriend all this time."

You smile sheepishly, showing all your teeth then let out a breath looking down when Taylor raises an eyebrow. "Yes. Okay. I'm a bad partner. I didn't realise I wasn't following you until Pinto said you didn't tag him in a photo. I was hoping you would have thought it was a glitch or something."

"Oh baby, you are so cute if you think I am that naive," Taylor remarks.

"I don't appreciate that tone," you frown.

"I know one way you can make it up to me," Taylor says, closing in on you.

You hum, "Oh, I like where this is going."

Taylor closes the gap but only for less than a second. "You have to catch me first," she challenges, leaping from you going into a full sprint out of the room.

You end your stream saying you have technical difficulties before chasing after Taylor.

After you leave, your phone still resting on your desk lights up with a message from Dan, 'Did she find out yet?'

His powers are kinda scary- he has a bunch of candy, obviously, but they’re not normal candy. As soon as you eat one of his candies, you slowly turn into one of his candy minions and follow him wherever he goes, like some kind of zombie (whatever that means-)

I’m not sure what he is honestly, like obviously he’s a candy monstrosity, but idk if that’s gum, some weird form of cotton candy or even ice cream-

He is a BIIIIIIIIIGGGGGG BOI

He can speak, but he usually just roars, growls and groans most of the time

Quick announcement (before the diarrhea of information):

Sleep behind scenes!

So... Ginkgo why the hell did this take you so long? Sorry, sorry 😅 Here's what happened. I got burned out after like 10 pages (specifically the manor backgrounds killed me, plus having the full gang in the story) and then got sick and was not feeling all that great. Working through the burn out, sick, AND college work on top was quite hard not gonna lie though, but I wanted to finish it ^^

Alright, now as for little unnecessary Easter eggs, I added as nods to the show and my other interests. ^_^

1. Undertale save point. Undertale had me sucked in for a good long while, and for some odd reason decided to re-emerge in a form of the star save. Made it purple for Uzi's effect over N. She made him more rebellious, so he started to question why is it his memories and dreams are strange/corrupted/missing instead of just going with the flow.

2. Ep3 nod. V and N have history, history that I wish we get to see. V was nicer, kinder, in my opinion, prior to the absolute solver going rampage. So it makes sense for them to have some sort of friendship at the VERY least. So I decides to give it a small spin to it too. A direct quote from ep3 ^_^

3. Ep 2 + 5 nod. I kinda pulled the moment when James dismissed N from ep2 together with events that follow after N leaves library in ep5. Chronologically, these events don't fit together, seeing as ep2 is when N first meets Cyn and ep5 is when she's already set up the massacre. But this is exactly what I was going for. N's memories are jumbled at best, so I took liberty in mixing, matching, and editing his memories just as the admin program would probably.

4. Absolute Solver symbols nod. My chats with @absolute-solver (sorry for annoying you with tag 😅) made me realize that the absolute solver ought to have more presence now. It's activated and running systems in the background for Uzi. Whiiiiich means that drawing absolute solver should start now. BUT, it's rudimentary at best. Symbols don't really make sense and are not completed for most of the time. Not until Uzi at least sees the error message in ep2, when she truly starts questioning what that weird symbol on her visor is. I headcanon that N does know or at least feel that the absolute solver symbol is familiar, hence the little comment.

5. Absolute Solver Nori. Why is there so many absolute solver Nori around? I'm certain she went back to normal, just like in pictures Khan showed us in ep4 post core collapse. But I connected the solvers together here. Uzi's absolute solver string is up and running, and because the solver is a hivemind, it'd connect the memories and warp them a little. So that's why Uzi's doodle of her and Nori at the end (and during memory recall) was so full of absolute solver. It's slowly taking root, whether she wants it to or not.

Personal touches/added/cut ideas:

N's tail wrapping around Uzi like a hug. Originally, Uzi was supposed to look more nervous, but not for the reasons you might think. I cut the nervous look to a more upset look so it wouldn't be confused for fear. Uzi's never scared of N (yes, I don't count ep2 either, that was a lot of events at once and very little time to process them). The nervous look was more of a "Why are you butting in?" type, you know? Being a loner makes you cautious, so when N prods at feelings, I figured Uzi would be a bit defensive.

Cyn is fully rendered and yet I glitched her so much I felt bad. So here's full absolute solver Cyn eldrich monster thingy. ^_^

I pulled a Hazbin hotel moment. Did you see it? Abracadabra GONE! All the scraps from first couple pages with NUzi chatting POOFED out of the existence. Did I get lazy and tired? Yes, that was the tell tale sign of burn out, when I stopped keeping track of background details and just kept the pod.

These progress shots show pretty well how the story boarding goes and how I change my mind too easily. 😅 storyboard is still as much of a mess as ever, sketch shows you I was gonna keep Uzi's hat, but decided against it in final product. I figured this. Nori gave Uzi the jacket whenever Uzi got a bigger body + hair. These are the same jacket and hair Uzi has in canon. Uzi's body is just upgraded again and her hair gets shorter in that regard. The jacket would be big on her, and cover her hands, but what's up with the fluff if I draw canon jacket more spiky? And where's the death battery drawing? I headcanon Uzi drew those on once she got into the angsty teenager stage. The jacket is more spiky from wear and tear.

Fun fact! You can sorta tell who's gonna show up in the comic by what memes I post prior. Here's some examples ^_^ Cyn showed up, and that was first practice with maid outfits and Cyn's eldrich form. Closely followed by manor gang, the second/final form of maid and butler outfits and prime practice for those scenes. This example is a bit spoiler for a meme I'm working on right now! I've never drawn Nori before, so I quickly sketched out the idea and continued on with the comic (otherwise, I'd lose my steam and procrastinate on it again). Memes are filler for you guys while I work on the actual projects (comics), and along the way, they give me practice and change in drawing style ^_^

Is it a coincidence that this comic is called Sleep with the release of a certain horror game? Actually, yeah pure coincidence 😅 I had this drafted allll the way back in November, and didn't take particular interest in poppy playtime until I saw lanky boi, which was actually during a stream I watched on release day of the chapter.

(I didn't know tumblr, or at least the phone app, had a tag limit of 30, BOY was I surprised @brookiedaaroacecookie that must have been THE tag city, sorry 😅)

Next comic is Loneliness 1 and 2

This one is split into 2 POVs from both Uzi and N side, thus its 2 separate comics. That one will be more NUzi centered, too, a slight angst and comfort spin to it. That will come... sometime. I have a few more projects I wanna finish up with prior to starting on these guys ^_^

HAIAIAI FAVORITE LAYOUTS N GRAPHICS UPLOADER!! any tips for new editors plz? :3

explore what program you're editing with as much as you can!! sometimes i'm still finding new features on ibis paint and when i use them it's actually so cool (like the glitch effect, that went hard)

take inspo!! (from people that are okay with it ofc) it really helps to see what other people are doing and try and incorperate that into your edits

learn about colour theory, i'm really strong about this one! truust me once you figure out what colours go well together and how to properly contrast colours and how to make sure people's eyes immedietly go to what you want them to see first is important

start simple and work your way up! when i started editing literally all i did was add a pic onto a mask and add my name and called it a day, but then i started challenging myself and added lace and pngs and a mirror etc, and i would keep staying in my comfort zone but trying something new every time i felt like it and that helped me grow

oh yes and i think this is my most important tip: do not compare yourself to other editors! you will get better with progress, no one starts of making incredible edits if they are completely new to everything

If it is, yes, I did see your last ask - but life has been a bit shit lately and frankly, I didn't have the emotional bandwidth to deal with an accusatory email that gave me absolutely no details about what you were upset about so I could investigate. So today, despite it being an incredibly long and shit one that isn't over I'm going to reply.

*Takes a deep breath* From this point forward I'm going to assume that, like me, you are just a real-live human with feelings that get hurt and not someone who just likes to yell at people on the internet. So let me apologise that I have used your artwork without attribution, it was in no way my intention. Please take this apology as someone who was just trying to amuse themselves and perhaps help some other people out by reminding them to take their meds too. I absolutely suck at art-type things so in my mind, no one would think I did them or was claiming the actual 'art' part of them as mine. I realise now this is the internet, you guys don't know me, and so I should have been clearer that nearly all of these are edits. (There are a few waaaaay back I actually drew myself). Looking at the 7th, 8th & 9th of April (allowing for time zones and assuming that's when you saw your artwork). All of them except one have a link at the bottom of the image that links back to where I sourced the original image - I don't know if this is visible on mobile so I'll show it below (the bit circled in red)

It seems that one doesn't have the link. I don't know why. I haven't made any new reminders for this blog in ages (again - life) - it seems like most of the ones from early April this year were originally posted back in 2021. I got briefly excited about this blog again a few months ago and loaded up a bunch of old ones so this blog was still functional for the people that find it helpful. Going back I have noticed that others seem to not have credit either. It is possible I made a mistake and forgot to add them. It's also possible that Tumblr has a had a glitch/error/weirdness which means it's disappeared. I also used a bunch of images from the editing app I was using to add the reminder message and I wish I could remember what the site was called because I cannot for the life of me remember. Honestly, who knows. I have deleted the post(s) with that image - if it's not the right one please let me know.

I have always gone out of my way to ensure that anything I use is either free use, or non-commercial under Creative Commons. As an aside, I'm an academic and a person who has artist friends and my partner runs a business where our customers are largely designers and artists, so I do actually do my best to give credit. Am I perfect - no I'm not. Part of the reason I stopped making new posts was because of difficulty giving credit even on images that were non-attribution and finding images where I knew what the attribution requirements were (along with trying to remember everything everyone asked me to tag, and doing the image descriptions etc.) If anyone else finds something of theirs in one of my posts and there isn't credit attached please either dm me or send an ask and let me know which post and how you would like to be credited and I'll add it in. If you want it removed, I'm happy to do that too.

Digital Circus Episode 2 - Is It Fire Or Trash Fire?

I was gonna use the ‘Is it Good Or Nah’. But then I saw this image and thought this was more appropriate.

SO, Digital Circus.

The Pilot got more than… 1 view.

So naturally I grasped onto the pilot episode for… what did I say again?

I just fell in love with what the pilot episode had to offer that appealed to me at the time, and maybe now more than back then now that I am an adult in the real world.

There was no trying to replicate realism. They were embracing COLOR, and out there character designs all animated differently yet beautifully. There were mysteries regarding the world they created just begging for theories and speculation. There was such great editing that does NOT get talked about more. It wasn’t like the other physical horror mascot horrors, as instead it was existential, toying with peoples minds, which to me was SO much more compelling. This had one of the most relatable protagonists I’ve seen in quite some time. A ringmaster I love to see on screen. Other characters begging to be explored. While not every joke landed for me, I definitely vibed with its style of humor.

So, meaningless to say, I understood why this show resonates with so many people, including myself.

So the show staying indie and not letting any major cooperations dictate how they run their show and their story, is inspiring.

So while I do see the signs so far being that the show will turn out good, by the way the creators want it to turn out (it’s their show after all). I’m just always naturally skeptical.

I said it once. I’ll say it again. I am not doing this for the popularity. I’m doing this because I genuinely enjoy the show and want to see how it turns out.

So this is just gonna be MY take on the episode influenced by nobody else.

Even with the trailers and advertisement they did, I was still skeptical on whether or not it’d turn out good. At least in my opinion.

When they introduced all the new characters, I saw that as a red flag. Because indie shows seem to LOVE introducing new characters and bloating the story and taking screen time away from the supposed main cast. Happened with RWBY. Happened with Hazbin. (I like Hazbin, but you can’t tell me I’m wrong)

Then the trailers came out and yeah, it looked like a fun episode. A nice sweet desert after the heartbreak I suffered from Dragons Rising Season 2.

And for the indie animation industry, this show is, and will be, no matter what, an inspiration for so many people. And that is something I will always love the show for.

But for quality, you know, I didn’t want to get my hopes up.

The hype is pretty massive for what the pilot leaves. So there was no way Episode 2 could possibly live up to the hype.

But, I want to give support, so I will anyway.

And no matter what I say here, I am so proud of the people that made this. Gooseworx. Glitch. The animators. Everyone involved in the project.

The fact that these guys were able to push through such a harsh reception last time with all the drama and bullshit. They pushed through, stuck to their guns, and continued to make the show they wanted.

That is so inspiring and I have nothing but respect.

SO… now for my take.

Did this episode live up to the hype???

(SPOILERS FROM HERE ON OUT. IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THE EPISODE, WATCH IT, THEN COME BACK BEFORE CLICKING ‘KEEP READING’)

IT DID.

IT DID LIVE UP THE HYPE.

OMG.

So, in short, YES, it’s 🔥FIRE.🔥

Okay, well, mostly fire. I’ll get all my negatives out of the way right now. Don’t worry there’s not much. And they’re pretty minor.

The jokes didn’t land for me as well as they did in the pilot. They weren’t bad, but I remember laughing a lot less than before. The croc doing tricks got me, as well as Bubble’s censorship, and some of Pomni’s lines. But that’s about it.

There was little to no explanation about why Zooble doesn’t participate here, though keep in mind that this is based off a first viewing, I may have missed something, and I may analyze this in the future and what this means exactly.

Gangle was also disappointing to me. I didn’t need her to do much, but you give her one line before her comedy mask breaks again? We don’t even get to see what she’s like with it on? Seriously?

And this last one may be a complete me preference, and this also goes for my biggest critique in the pilot as well, I just don’t find the B Plots all that interesting.

Whereas the main plots of these episodes are not only exhilarating with a series of action and comedy, but also have compelling emotional hooks with its trippy editing and character stakes. The B Plots are mostly just… standing there. Talking.

No interesting character bits here, at least not yet, no editing that indicates something about their POV, no jokes that stand out to me, it’s just ‘they meet a monster, Jax is a dick, and then it finds resolves itself without much effort’.

I dont mind it when characters just sit there and talk, you’ll find later on my post, but I do want them to actually amount to something? At least in the pilot the gloinks were a driving force to get Kaufmo in the cellar in the end. With this one? You could pretty much remove the chocolate monster and not much would change about the episode.

I do think this is a me problem though, and there’s something I’m missing. I’ll look back later. And regardless, I do want them to improve with these B Plots overall.

And, yep, those are my only problems with this episode. Otherwise,

HOLY S%#T I WAS NOT PREPARED FOR ANYTHING HERE

The animation is so much better than the previous episode?!?!?!

Not that it was bad before. Hell no. But there’s something more smooth about this episode, with its lighting in particular. It looks smooth as butter. And when it’s NOT, it’s for a narrative purpose.

And what I said about the editing in the pilot in certain posts are still here. And they both come together to make something extremely pleasant to look at.

I am so happy that we arent going to be experiencing this one location at the tent for the whole show. Because these other worlds look so vibrant and alive and gives each episode its own flare and identity.

The nightmare scene intro is an amazing hook for the rest of the episode. Not just to address Pomni’s conflict in this episode thinking nobody will care about her when she dies, or, abstracts I should say, but also to put the traumatic experience of everything that has happened at the forefront and NOT gloss over it.

Because yeah. She watched someone basically DIE from insanity. And she could end up on the chopping block too? Of course this is appropriate behavior. There is no smiling through it and getting excited about the next day. I absolutely LOVE how they are addressing the crisis that stems in these situations. Even regarding stuff I didn’t even think about.

I personally don’t mind that Ragatha isn’t mad at Pomni for what happened. It’s perfectly in character for her, and the drama with this conflict isn’t about one being angry after the other, but rather that Ragatha doesn’t know how to connect with and comfort Pomni and fears that her inability to let the jester in means she doesn’t like her or want her around.

That’s so much more compelling than a fight/separation conflict. And it’s so real.

Ragatha’s a sweetheart and deserves the best.

And you guys doubted by words of him in the past?

Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure we all expected this to be his episode and it wasn’t, and I’m sure there’s more depth to why he acts the way he does, the proof is there. He will get his episode in the future.

But MAN, he kinda scared me here. He was so much harsher than he was in the pilot, and absolutely willing to KILL, just for his own sick amusement.

I can’t say I’m surprised that’s his mindset, thinking all the people around him are just objects and playthings. But I am still floored by how far they were willing to go with him.

Again, I’m sure he’ll get his episode later fully explaining this behavior.

But… you know what I really want to talk about.

And yeah, it’s undeniably the best part of this entire show so far.

Mostly because it’s spoken to me the most.

Like, on paper, Pomni’s story arc in this episode is very well handled. Over the pilot and here, it’s very clear she’s grown as a person and is far more willing to see those around her and the new world she’s become a part of.

A lot of us suspected some things to happen in this episode, but I don’t think ANY of us predicted this.

See, I correctly guessed that Pomni falling in the cellar was a nightmare. And I guessed that she was going to get yeeted with the truck in the fight and separate from the group.

But I also expected that to be her disappearing for a good portion of the episode and the rest of the group was gonna get screen time trying to find her and save her.

That would’ve been the cliched mainstream show route.

Yeah I was wrong. They didn’t do that.

Instead she and one of the NPC’s, GummiGoo (beloved) get glitched to the outside of the game map and GummiGoo realizes his miserable meaningless existence as an NPC and has an identity crisis about who he is and why he’s even alive. And Pomni, who went through the exact same thing prior to this, is the one to talk him to finding relevance in his life. They befriend each other and build a hopeful future.

AND THEN THAT GETS SHATTERED OMG CAINE WHY-?!

Like, BRO, that’s WAY more compelling than whatever the gosh I was predicting with my mainstream cliched head.

GummiGoo is such a sweetheart and deserved better. Simple as that.

And this ISN’T shafting a main character aside so that a side character can be the writer’s favorite toy. This both gives the side character depth and love from the audience, while also serving a strong purpose for the development of the main character. Both get a role here and both earn the audiences love as a result.

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHY THIS IS SO HARD WHEN IT COMES TO THE INDIE WORLD I DONT GET IT-

I do feel like GummiGoo is gonna come back several episodes later and serve a purpose there. But for now I think he is gonna be gone for at least two or three episodes before that return.

(Gosh darn it Glitch, you made me feel bad for an NPC. What are you doing?)

But as I keep alluding to, that’s just the practical objective take on this storyline.

There’s actually a far more subjective take I have with this, and the reason why it made me tear up.

So, I don’t know if my followers know this, but I am a newly formed young adult in the real world in my college years. I work my nine to five. I study. I sleep. Wash. Rinse. Repeat. That has always been the extent of my life for the past year, and one that has driven my anxiety to the bitter ground. Especially nowadays.

I’m also an aspiring artist with dreams of sharing my own stories with the world and being my own indie producer. But again and again, my dreams get shattered by someone I care about in my life, and they insist that I will fail and never make it doing this.

So instead I kinda gave up. And conformed to the world as an NPC doing NPC things. I’m never gonna become someone famous. I’m always an extra made for someone else’s development. When I die, I’ll be forgotten…

It’s a terrifying thought. And every time I try to break free from thus existence and pursue my dreams, I develop pretty painful anxiety pangs. That, and that also has to do with a level of bullying and talking down I’ve endured in my life, so I’ve found it impossible to talk to others about these things.

So you could say that I see myself in Pomni way too much.

And then Digital Circus’s Pilot entered my life. I watched it. Expecting to get the popularity appeal and curiosity out of my way.

What I got instead was something that spoke to me so personally at the time.

An escape from reality with so many bright colors and wonder… but also a personal existential crisis that lives through every character. Even dead ones.

(I never expected them to even care about Kaufmo, but I’m so glad they did)

Pomni was me entering into adulthood. A new world. A new home. A new adult body nobody knows what to do with. Unsure who you are. What your existence is. And everyone expects you to do the same thing over and over again without question or purpose.

And there’s no way out of it.

That’s just… life.

And if I’m struggling to understand myself, then who, who all seem to be okay with everything, would even care about me?

Am I even good enough? Or am I destined for complete failure to even be a person?

And then in the midst of my crisis, this episode comes in. And… it’s hard to even word out how personally this has spoken to me.

That’s why Pomni finding out she and GummiGoo have a lot in common is so important.

Because yeah, nobody would usually care about the NPC’s of the world. The people going on with day to day life without leaving much impact on anything. Finding out that your existence as a person is utterly meaningless and will be forgotten in years or days time.

But it was also the reminder that nobody is alone in feeling worthless and that nobody cares about you. There’s someone that will. Even if it’s just one person.

It gives a sense of hope that helps people want to live in the first place and not give up or resort to losing their minds.

And then that reality kicks in when that NPC’s existence becomes meaningless physically.

But that hope doesn’t leave.

Because instead of letting Pomni mourn what could’ve been, she’s instead greeted to people caring about someone who had passed on. When it seemed like nobody would.

There’s no words here. But I don’t think that’s a problem. The action speaks louder than words.

It’s a show don’t tell moment of the others paying their respects for a lost loved one and holding those memories and the experiences they carried closely.

Which causes Pomni to relive her own nightmare at the start of the episode.

But instead of her getting ditched and forgotten, she’s saved by these people. These people who have been in her shoes before and want to help her see that it’s okay. They aren’t going to abandon her. They aren’t going to forget about her.

No matter who or what you are, you mean something to someone and can change their reality.

Like GummiGoo did, even if it was short lived.

You are not Alone.

Existence on earth is shattering and will keep you down and terrified. But you are not alone to face these fears and this crisis in this world.

You matter. And there will always be someone out there who won’t abandon you.

You will be Okay.

…

So yeah. Great episode.

I was skeptical to say it with just one episode, but now with two I can say it: Digital Circus has become my new comfort show, and the most relevant show for me in these upcoming years.

And it’s going to be a roller coaster of a great show in the future.

At least so long as the people making this stay indie and do what they want with it.

That, I have become very confident about now.

This show lives up to the hype. It’s amazing. I’m super grateful.

And now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to start eating gummies and crying.

with nearly half the teams cut after the RD, the FD was all teams who had Grand Prix assignments (except S/F who weren't yet eligible 🇨🇦→🇮🇪)

PiriHara's Chicago program was a surprise - it hadn't made much of an impression over a stream, but what do you know, Broadway is better live 😅

Olivia and Tim - they never did work out the timing glitches in this program. at least he made it to the end without struggling so much condition-wise like he did at Challenge Cup a few weeks ago. catching up to her in one season was a tall order. i really love how languid and easy she can make it look while covering big ice. send him to IAMO for the summer. it's no consolation to them, but going below both sibling teams allowed the Czech Republic to keep 2 spots for next Worlds

Taschlers were low balled - in no reality should they be below Davis/Smolkin

the swan lakes - D/S in this context, skating against strong teams, look so very small, shallow and with not much ice coverage. it doesn't help that they picked huge music that normally would be danced by an entire stage full of swans. plus their music cut had a couple awful jarring edits - the audacity to slug in extra notes in Tchaikovsky 💀 i might be the only one so bothered lol

the Mrazeks by comparison looked smoother and faster and smarter in that they picked some of the gentler swan lake music including the waltz. for a first year senior team, they can be proud. another first year team who's been even more stellar is Hannah and Ye -

omg they were so good - they're able to be so emotional without feeling over the top. just expressive and connected to each other. lovely ❤️

i like Demougeot/LeMercier - i'm going to look forward to see what they do next. i hope they keep being quirky

really happy to see T/V and R/A live - T/V are willowy and ethereal, and her ballet background shows. but i don't think they get down into the ice. i like this FD a lot, but the interest in it is in those arm movements and elements more so than the skating. R/A i liked the RD a little more than the FD but like them very much

CPom are raising their game all the time - so happy for them and their well earned rise. what i love is that not only do you see them becoming better skaters and performers, but you can see they believe - their confidence in themselves is at a completely different place than it was 2 years ago

omg, live i didn't see just how long Charlene's skirt was caught on her blade at the end. idk if Barbara in the kiss and cry was holding her breath to see if the judges used the little mistakes to put F/G ahead. thank god they didn't, because G/F still have such a higher quality

and Piper and Paul - this program uses the glide and sweep of the music to emphasize that in the skating in a beautiful way. a skated program is so much more satisfying than an element-fest like C/B's. as impressive as their elements and performances can be, i don't know if i've ever been moved by a program of theirs

my favorite of the entire event - LaLa - i was crying by the gorgeous OFt. they alone would have been worth the trip. but gratitude to all the skaters and their coaches - my cup's full. i'm still processing

A love letter to Murder Drones

Btw this is just a rambling about how I got into Murder Drones and how it has changed my view of the world, so if you don’t care then don’t read :3

(Also it’s gonna be lengthy and maybe a bit of trauma dump)

I also don’t expect @liamvickersanimation or @glitchproductions to use tumblr, and if they see this I will jump off a cliff lol

So, it started one day when I got the Murder Drones pilot in my recommended on YouTube. Buut I scrolled right passed it cause I didn’t really care about it then. A few nights later, round midnight, I saw the pilot again and caved. I then went to the playlist and watched the first 6 episodes. (This was a month after ep 6 came out)

I did fall in love w/ the style of the show, but I did not understand the plot.

so I watched the show again and again, and even watched theory vids on it. And when I tell you I bawled by eyes out when I watched the show again, got connected to the characters, I bawled by fuckin eyes out when V sacrificed herself.

While watching theories of MD, something clicked in my head and I decided that I wanted to do my own show as well.

but, I suck at creativity and can’t make up new things, just edit already made things. So I decided, if I can’t make my own stories, I would help other people make their stories.

in other words, I wanted to be an animator

after I got my mind in on the fact I wanted to be an animator, I had downloaded many, and I mean many animation apps on my drawing iPad, and tried to 2D animate.

now, I would call myself a shitty artist. I don’t know anatomy and I barely use references too.

so when 2D animation did not work for me, I almost gave up my dream to become an animator, and plus.. I didn’t even know where I wanted to work.

I didn’t want to work for Disney cause I don’t really like their stuff anymore, and dream works kinda fell off too (no offense to any fans of those people, I will respect your opinions)

So I gave up on my dream, and I checked glitch prod. for any new info for MD ep. 7. But, instead of anything Murder Drones a new show was on called The Amazing Digital Circus.

now, I absolutely did not care about some new show, I only wanted Murder drones. Then I caved again and watched TDAC. and I fell in love w/ it as well.

and TDAC brought by dream back up to become an animator. I decided that I wouldn’t work for DreamWorks or Disney,

I would work for Glitch Productions.

now, I have no idea if I’ll ever be able to work for them, but it would be an honor.

then ep. 7 dropped for MD, and I fell in love again with this episode. Especially Flesha. Her movements, her emotions, her flicker design! It was all just perfect!

So I started to look online for ways to become an animator, but not a 2D one.

My mom helped me find a program called Blender.

and yes, I still use Blender to this day

I then started to take lessons from YouTube vids online and once I got the hang of it, I started to look for models that I could pose.

now, I can’t animate good rn cause I have a very shitty laptop that can barely run one model at a time, but I’m still learning.

and then the finale for Murder drones finally comes out. And omfg I have no words

it’s peak perfection

again the characters felt so ALIVE! And FREE!

and it’s what I wanted to do! It’s still is! I want to animate characters that people love and make art or fanfics about.

so.. that’s the point of this “Love letter”

I just wanted to say.. Thank you Liam and Glitch for this amazing show that I and millions of people could be apart of. And I hope I’m able to meet you in person and maybe even work under you one day.

Saw the post about "other sites" and I'm feeling ~salty~, so lemme give some context for where the bar is with pet sites to y'all. Maybe you've seen ads, maybe you tried playing it and quit because the tutorial is its own circle of hell, maybe you're a blessed person who has never heard of it: Sylestia. It's run by one (1) man. He codes the entire site, has exactly 0 help - by choice. People have literally offered to help him with coding stuff *for free* and he refuses to let anyone touch his precious code.  His ex girlfriend (yes you read that right) is supposedly the other admin - she barely ever shows up, posts games/events that are full of errors, once vanished in the middle of running a game, and has personally insulted players before because they dared offer feedback on one of her ugly ass designs. There is exactly one artist for avatar items and one for pets - one other artist is listed in the credits but it's unclear what regular work, if any, they do for the site. Over 200 different avatar items are released per year, and new pet traits debut anywhere between 4-8 times per year, AND the site is in the (glacially slow) process of redoing all the art for various species. The site is at least 98% RNG by volume - including items you pay premium currency for. Retired items? RNG only. Getting pets? RNG. Getting items period? RNG. And the RNG is also awful - people are constantly having to literally beg for rates to be adjusted.  Plenty of features for events are also just. straight up gambling - you can pay solid chunks of premium currency and walk away with items that are literally worth nothing. You think DV is grindy? Sylestia not only practically requires you to spend a full workday glued to it - including events that basically require you to literally not sleep for several days - the site owner is actively making new content to further encourage ridiculous amounts of grinding. Why? Because he's worried that older players will be bored without new content - so instead of fixing any of the old content on the site, or the site itself which is a mess, he makes new content that ALSO doesn't work.  As of December, the site will be in its ELEVENTH YEAR IN BETA. So when I say "not fixing old content", I'm not talking like, a couple glitches or iffy art. I'm talking *half the site is completely incompatible with the other half*.  And all of that my friends, is still somehow not the source of my salt.  Someone pointed out to the site owner that one of his avatar items was, perhaps, a bit racist. It was (I should say is, it's still on the site :) ) a stereotypical native american dress, CLEARLY based off of the stupid Pocahontas movie, titled "Pow Wow Costume". It was released with a Pilgrim costume in the site's early years. Pretty not great, yeah? Multiple people complained, provided him sources explaining why "Maybe don't keep this on here, maybe this isn't great".  He, is white. He responded by saying he a) would not remove it, b) did not think it was offensive, c) what about the Christmas items or St. Patrick's day items the site has aren't those the same, and d) he actually visited a reservation once so he knows it's OK to have those items, and e) native players should actually be HAPPY to have those items because it was to iNcLuDE tHeM.  I am not joking.  The site has 0 acknowledgement of pride month, not a banner, not an announcement, no items, no anything - it DOES however have an entire festival for the American Fourth of July holiday. The owner claims he doesn't like to have political things on his site, make of that what you will.  The owner also issued a mass ban on a bunch of people because they said some rude shit (about the racist items, the rng, his refusal to get coding help, general issues taking feedback, etc.) in a private, off-site discord server. How did he know what they said? Why, he asked some players in the server to *spy on the others for him*.   He edited time stamps out and published a bunch of the screenshots from this private server, out of context and who knows if they were edited, and threw a public tantrum about how the players were harassing him and secretly planning to destroy the site… by bitching in a private discord.  So yeah. Not excusing Anji's behavior, but happy to show y'all exactly how much worse it could be LMAO.

Specifically, it was off to the Big Sky Reach rental lot in the Galloping Gulch, because to my great surprise this neighborhood is smaller than I thought and has no community lots. O.o But that was okay, because I didn’t come to Galloping Gulch to visit a park or anything like that – instead, my goal was to find that secret swimming spot near the rainbow waterfall that I’d seen in a Petey Plays It video recently. I thus started scanning the landscape, looking for the swimming hole –

And to my delight, found it relatively near their starting point! :D So, after having everyone change into more appropriate clothing (Victor and Alice their “Selvadoradan jungle” outfits, Smiler their nonbinary shirt) – I had them all teleport down there via their special occult means and immediately make my efforts to dress them appropriately moot by sending them to swim! XD I had to stop them from just going in and then immediately getting out, mind, but once I’d gotten them all swimming around, they seemed content to stay in the water. :) Smiler almost immediately fulfilled the “Water Fun” tradition of the day (and ALSO picked up the “Outdoorsy” lifestyle in the process – wouldn’t have expected it of them, but I guess it’s kind of inevitable when you live on a farm), while Alice fulfilled it after they’d all had a nice back float. Victor, however, was having a hard time fulfilling the tradition for some reason – I tried to have him do some splashing with Alice and Smiler, but the golden confetti just refused to pop over his head. Slightly frustrated, I resolved to keep trying –

-->And then I looked at his and Alice’s needs and realized “Oh shit, these are terrible.” Notably, they both had to go to the bathroom BADLY. Fortunately, their occult statuses meant that this was easily remedied – all they had to do was swim out of the water, then Victor Transportalated himself up to the public bathrooms while Alice transformed into her werewolf form and tunneled to a slightly more private spot away from the water to “mark her territory.” XD I had Smiler keep themselves occupied poking around a frog log for frogs (surfer leaf – one they already have, sadly) while I then started looking for picnic tables for the gang to set their picnic up on…

Only to discover that I had apparently chosen THE ONLY NEIGHBORHOOD IN THIS GAME THAT HAS NO PICNIC TABLES. There were was a little campground near the public bathroom, yes, with log seats around campfires, but not a single picnic table that I could see. And as the game REQUIRES a picnic table for you to have a picnic (yeah, I know, bit annoying), I needed one so they could have their Annual SimCity Founding Picnic together! What do?

-->Why, remember that I’m on a lot that I can edit, go into Build/Buy, and grab a picnic table (after finally figuring out where they were – I thought they were in “seating” for some reason, not “tables”) to stick on the very corner of the lot for the trio to use! So that’s what I did. XD To my surprise, when I came out of Build/Buy, Victor was already on the lot when I didn’t remember sending him there. O.o Figuring that maybe he’d been glitch-teleported over there at some point, I then went to check on Alice and get her to lick herself clean and somber howl away her Fury before setting up the picnic –

Only to find her preparing to go hunting. Annoyed, I canceled the interaction, but she started jogging away instead of doing the other interactions I wanted her to do, as if she was still looking for the despawn point. Even more annoyed, I quickly laid down a save, then used shift-click to reset her to make SURE she didn’t go wandering off without my permission. (Also stopped Smiler from trying to chase her down so they could cheer about her being a werewolf again. That gets really old sometimes, I gotta admit.) In the process, I also discovered that, despite the fact that I couldn’t go inside the rental house (because we weren’t actually RENTING it, I was just using it as a drop-off point of sorts), Victor sure could – apparently what happened is that he used the sink in there to wash up after using the public toilet, then went back in to try and get some water. I stopped him and had him sit by the campfire with Smiler to chat and do some “Party Spirit” stuff while the newly-reset Alice licked herself clean and somber howled –

“So you might be wondering ‘Zee, if everything is fine, why are you making a whole video at 3am about it?’ Well my wonderfully curious skiddo, it’s because people like to panic. When things they don’t understand happen, most people have the innate reaction to panic instead if striving to understand. And that’s, well, understandable! The world is dangerous and scary! There’s a lot to panic about! But panicking never solved anything, did it? Not many people make their best, information based decisions while they’re quaking with fear.

“And the scary way the article addresses this. ‘29 injured, 1 dead’. Yes, that’s very tragic, but that’s also what the people in question signed up to risk for the sake of discovery, isn’t it? Whenever a ranger gets their arm bitten off, do we call for an end to the ranger program? No. We thank them for their contributions and wish them a speedy recovery.

“Do you think the first person who met a gyarados walked away happy and in tact? No, it probably took some experimenting to learn how to approach and befriend one, and NOW we see trainers with gyarados as their closest companions. The h POKe, the glitch pokemon, is just today’s undiscovered gyarados.

“I could go on and on with comparisons, but it’s late and I’m sure you’re tired. So the takeaway, my darling skiddos, is that we need to keep an open mind about the things that scare us at first. They’re probably just misunderstood and just as scared, and they’re HOPING we’ll understand soon. That’s why we do this, right? The exploration and discovery of the wild unknown. That’s why the lab staff went to work that day. That’s why we oddity hunt.

So take a deep breath, my darlings, keep an open mind, sleep well, and I’ll see you soon. Remember, mommy loves you!”

I have fixed the dashboard (kinda)

do you see the new sidebar? it sucks yes? i got rid of it temporarily (it comes back if I reload the page). here's a quick explanation if anyone needs it.

first, i should say that you can't get to anything in that bar like this. if you want something there, you need a new tab. also, i did this on firefox, via the website, so it may not work elsewhere.

step one: right click on the sidebar (somewhere there isn't any text, ideally between the lowest text and the 'create' button)

step two: click 'inspect'

step three: on the lower left, there should be some intimidating-looking code. as you hover over it, it should highlight parts of the screen. go up to the one that highlights as much of the sidebar as possible, right below the one that highlights the whole screen.

step four: delete it

congrats it should be gone now. unfortunately this doesn't put the interface back at the top, so it's not all back, but when i did this it fixed the width of the rest of the screen automatically. it will come back if you reload the page, so you can still get use the buttons on it if you need or fix things if you mess up. if this doesn't work, maybe leave an ask or reply and i can try to figure something out.

hopefully this can get us through until someone makes an actual plugin restoring the old layout

(edit: for me, the thing to delete is called something like <div class:"h_Erh">. also about a quarter of the time it glitches and moves the bar behind the posts? but it's the best I can figure out with my basically 0 html or css knowledge)
