BRIDGERTON THOUGHTS PRT 2 !
Send help it's literally more Polin I can't help it!
Once again, spoilers ahead for S3 part 2 so keep scrolling if you don't want em! This is my part 1.
It might be an unpopular opinion, but there was too much angst for me. Colin was too angsty for too long, and I know it was only really an episode and a half, But I felt like we got too much of book Colin's bad side and not enough understanding. Like I very much get it and he had a very valid reason for being hurt, but it was dragged almost to the very end of the last episode and I just wish there would have been a little less.
The constant asking if she was going to give up Whistledown kind of annoyed me and how cold he was every time they had that conversation just broke my heart a little bit for Penelope.
I know so much has been changed from books to show, but it's strange that in the book he knows about Whistledown before anything really happens, I mean they have that first kiss where she asks him to but everything else happens after he already knows. So for him to be so cold. Just made me feel sad. I understand it in the context of the show but still.
And something I really disliked was when they're in the room where they're going to have their wedding breakfast and Penelope asks something along the lines of "if you still want to marry me" and he says "I'm a man of honour and we were intimate", I really hate that it came to suggesting he would marry her out of obligation, It just really rubbed me the wrong way. And I wish it had been something along the lines of. "I love you Penelope and I want to marry you. I just don't know if I can forgive you for this", which he'd already said, but I would way rather that have been put out there than to ever even imply that he could marry her out of obligation. I know he was mad and betrayed and jealous, But that one line really bothers me. I've made a whole post basically saying this word for word but that's how strongly I feel about it! Like I get it from Colin's perspective and how he's grappling with it, I do, I just didn't like it.
Also, Colin never actually said sorry? For treating her like shit after he found out. Like I do think his feelings were valid and that he deserved to be upset, but he never said sorry for some of the stuff he said and for being cold even though Penelope apologised so many times.
Luke's emotion though when Colin found out and in the conversations after was incredible, when the tear fell at the end of ep 6 my heart stopped and then broke into tiny pieces!
Something about their pairing that I really like though is that they both feel inherently unlovable for one reason or another (Penelope has always felt completely unloved and overlooked, and Colin has always felt people showed him affections for shallow reasons and not actually for who he is), but both of them prove to each other over and over again how much they love the other and know the other and see them in a way no-one else does.
HOWEVER, I'm not sure they did a good enough job portraying Colin's side of this (I'll update on my rewatch send help). Not sure his coldness and hesitation was addressed enough as jealousy as it could have been. The scene where Penelope says "just love me and hold me and kiss me, what holds you back" and he says "I don't know" like was that just a little abrupt or was that just me? Because from the book I could follow that it's the jealousy of how accomplished she is but not sure the general audience picks up on that.
AND ANOTHER THING, there was absolutely not enough making up after everything was resolved with Whistledown, I needed more love and kisses and softness after the ball!
I know there were things being added to set up for the next season, but damn it was already 70 minutes long, what's 5 more of sweet and in love Polin??
Gotta say though, all of them with their babies in the end was adorable, and you can't deny the last shot kissing in the sunlight of the drawing room (where Penelope spent so much time staring out the window pining after Colin) was so fucking romantic! And the shot with their little baby boy, love!
One last thing, did they spend an exorbitant amount of time dancing or is that just me? Almost as much time as they all spent drinking lemonade in eps 1-4
Overall I loved their story, it's been my favourite pairing so far. Not sure any of the others will top it for me, but time will tell! Episodes 4-5 were definitely my favourites by a long shot!
Okay okay imma do part 3 with my thoughts on everything else 😂

Episode 4 similarities and differences between Ossan's Love (2018) and Ossan's Love Thailand
[Ep 1; Ep 2; Ep 3; Ep 4; Ep 5]
(disclaimer: I have watched all of the Haruta + Maki version of OL [Ossan's Love, Ossan's Love: LOVE or DEAD, Ossan's Love Returns] except for the specials which I haven't gotten around to, and I've watched the airport AU season Ossan's Love: In the Sky. I haven't watched the original one shot episode and the Hong Kong version.)
(disclaimer #2: This is just for fun. I'm not intending to make any statements over which version is superior or anything like that in this post. If you noticed something I missed please let me know so I can add it! I only rewatched ep 3 of the Jv for this.)
For the sake of my lazieness I will use Tv for Thai version and Jv for Japanese Version.
Back to scene by scene for this episode, although it's getting a bit more difficult.
Cher-aim Objects:
Boss talks to Cher-aim about the possibility of remarrying to which she objects, going on a bit of a catastophizing spiral about it. Boss lies he hasn't found anyone yet and they hug, boss looking sad, Cher-aim plotting. This scene, a continuation of their scene last ep, doesn't have a clear equivalent as far as I can tell but it's still working to establish the baseline where the viewer understands why she's against her father dating and she is suspicious of her father dating. Those two things had been set up for Choko in ep 1 and 2 of the Jv already (ofc her objection needs less explanation seeing as she's boss's wife not daughter).
Boss's Bedroom:
Cher-aim sneeks into her dad's bedroom to look into his phone. This happened in ep 2 of the Jv. In both versions C holds open boss's eye/s to open his phone. Both bosses mumble Hengny/Haru-tan in their sleep leading to C misunderstanding "Honey"/"Haruka" respectively. Tv Cher-aim also looks at his call history which is how she becomes aware of Heng, Jv Choko asks sleeping boss if he loves "Haruka" which he affirms.
Mo is Mad:
Heng is gaming, Mo interrupts him, telling him to clean up or he'll move out again. Again there isn't really a comparable scene to this in the Jv, though Mo's attitude here is somewhat more similar to Maki's in ep 1 when he first moved in with Haruta. We also get a good bit of Mr. Saturnworld screentime, obviously in the Jv there is no couple mascot to promote, for the Tv this is relevant as it is when Mo learns about this specific mascot character Heng likes. Heng asking Mo to pitch in to buy more Mr. Saturnworld stuff is a nod to the Jv ep 1 scene where Haruta asks Maki to pith in to buy a VR headset.
(
Choko Meets Haruta:
The first scene of the Jv also continues from the last scene of the previous ep with Choko pretending to be a regular client and not so subtely trying to look for "Haruka".
)
Apartment Viewing:
Tv Heng shows an apartment to Cher-aim, she asks about "Honey" on their team. This scene is a merging of two scenes in the Jv. The first one where Haruta shows Choko the first apartment and the second one which comes after two small other scenes in the Jv where Haruta shows her another apartment and she asks about "Haruka". Both Cs explain their curiosity by claiming the woman they asked about is someone they know who works at the company (Tv: C's friend, Jv: daughter of C's friend). Some differences: (1) because of Thai nicknames Cher-aim also asks about "Bee" not just "Honey" establishing her penchant for drawing connections, (2) we learn a bit more details about Choko's life such as her work, (3) we're shown a bit more of H & C getting along well in the Jv. Both versions bring up the possibility of the woman working at HQ though in the Jv Choko asks H to check (her excuse: she wants to give her a gift for her baby being born) while in the Tv Heng states C's friend might work at HQ.
(
Office, Wife?!:
Back in the office Takegawa and Maika see Choko's application form and realise she's their boss's wife.
Helping Grandma:
On the street an elderly woman approaches Haruta to ask for directions to which he offers to take her to her destination, asking Choko to wait a bit. We see here that Choko chose him from the company roster not because of his name, as initially implied, but becasue of him being stated to be nice which she finds confirmed by his actions here.
Second Apartment:
The aforementioned second apartment scene where Choko asks Haruta about "Haruka".
Office Meeting:
All of the main team meet at the office. Some general meeting stuff, boss assigns Maro and Haruta to sandwich-man duty and asks Haruta to organise a celebratory get-together, boss lowkey beefing with Maki by "accidentally" bumping into him. After boss leaves, Takegawa, Maika and Maro corner Haruta about Choko which is how he finds out she is the boss's wife. He gets worried about this and tries to ask Maki for help which is interrupted ba Takegawa finding some fault in Maki's work. No equivalent scene in the Tv so far.
)
Elevator Beef:
Mo and boss run into each other in the elevator. Boss asks about Heng, tries to rub it in that they're not living together anymore to which Mo smugly tells him that he moved back in. Boss gives Mo a lunchbox for Heng who alledgedly complained about the cooking at home. No such scene in the Jv, though I guess one could call this an extention of the bump in the office scene. Certainly attitues (boss's especially) are quite similar.
Graveyard:
Cher-aim has brought Heng to her mother's grave. This is where Heng finds out she's his boss's daughter (comp. to Jv finding out the connection from his colleagues at the office). She's dramatic about her father possibly dating someone new and "asks" Heng, who she has assumed to be her dad's best friend based on the call history, to help her find the woman her dad is dating. This scene is somewhat comparable to a later scene of the Jv where Choko asks Haruta to meet her at a cafe and tells him about her husband probably cheating on her and explicitly asks Haruta for help to find "Haruka". Some notable differences: Jv Choko tells H she'll "destroy" Haruka for what she did which scares H a little, Jv Choko tries to bribe H by promising to buy the property he'd been advertising if he helps while Tv Cher-aim goes more for emotional manipulation/ ignoring Heng's objections (like father like daughter).
(
Celebration:
The team meet at Chizu's bar for their celebration. Boss is otherwise occupied. Maro is a bit of a dick to Haruta as usual, the team briefly discuss H & M's living arrangements. Haruta goes to order at the bar wich leads to:
)
Restaurant Advice Corner:
Tv Heng has told Chicha and Thua-ngok about the situation. Chicha asks why he didn't just tell the truth, Thua interjecting that that would mean outing boss to his daughter. They agree that for the daughter worse than her dad liking a man is him liking Heng. In the Jv we get some more interesting food concoctions from Teppei, Haruta explains the situation to Chizu who tells him boss can't just explain the whole situation to his wife as that would mean outing himself to her. She adds that this is worse than just a normal affair and it being Haruta is even worse. In the Tv Heng gets a call from Cher-aim asking to meet the next day. He agrees. Chicha tells him he should use this opportunity to tell her he can't help her. Thua jokes about Heng helping her to find Heng (Jv Haruta says something similar in his voice over after the cafe scene) and finds inspiration for a new song.
(
Divorce Stand-off:
Again, Choko asks boss to tell her about the reason for the divorce, he's visibly trying but ultimately can't get it out. Though there is no one to one equivalent to this scene in the Tv, the two late night scenes between boss and Cher-aim show Tv boss similarily wanting, but not being able to, tell her about Heng.
Back at the Celebration:
Cut back to the celebration, Chizu brings drinks to the table with Haruta, Maika asks if they're dating and upon their denial states they'll end up together eventually anyway. Chizu assures that will never happen and Maro takes that as an opportunity to flirt with her. She's flattered by that, they exchange numbers. Haruta asks about Maki, witnesses him being scolded by Takegawa outside the restaurant. Again, no such celebration in the Tv, though there are parallels to the flashback scene where Mo mistakenly thought Heng and Chicha were dating in ep 1.
About Takegawa:
Back at home Haruta tries to talk to Maki about Takegawa shouting at him but Maki waves him off. The Takegawa/Ten storyline hasn't been started yet in the Tv so no comparable scene so far.
Office:
Haruta sends off a complaining sandwich-Maro, gets a text from Choko asking to meet up. Haruta is distressed, Maki offers to go with him but Takegawa gets in the way, again scolding Maki for doing something wrong and telling him to correct it right now. Haruta assures Maki he's fine to go alone.
At the Cafe:
Haruta meets Choko at a cafe with his advertisment-sandwich-gear. She tells him her husband is cheating on her and she needs Haruta's help to find the affair partner. This is the aforementioned scene that somewhat parallels the graveyard scene in the Tv. Another parallel: Jv C tells H boss has never lied to her before "Haruka", Tv C tells H boss has never wavered in his commitment to her dead mother before "Honey". Haruta gets a text from boss asking to meet up later that night. Haruta agrees to help.
Someone's Watching:
As Haruta walks along the river innerly monologing about his troubles we see he's being watched by a man of whom we see only the feet.
)
Who's Honey:
Cher-aim meets Heng at the office to look for "Honey". Heng tells her he can't get involved in his boss's private life so she tells him she'll hire a private investigator instead wich has him agree to help her after all. This line is inspired by the Jv where Choko tells boss in the divorce stand-off scene that she'll be forced to hire a private investigaor if he doesn't tell her the reason for their divorce. Cher-aim then asks about the names of various women working in the office to see if they might be "Honey". The equivalent Jv scene happened in ep 2 when Choko visited the office while boss wasn't there to see if "Haruka" worked there. Both scenes have a female employee who's often around but not part of the main cast bring tea for C. The conspiracy theories for why any of those women might be the one she's looking for are exclusive to the Tv. C taking into consideration the person she's looking for might be a man and ultimately landing on M as her prime suspect are both Tv original. Her looking through the employee list to see Mo's full name is a nod to the Jv scene at the end of ep 2 where Choko looks through the employee list online and finds Haruta.
Following Mo:
Cher-aim and Heng follow Mo out of the office, witnessing him throw away the boss's lunchbox which C takes as further evidence he's dating her dad and then go to the toy section in a mall where they lose him because Heng gets distracted by the workers who know him by name. In the mall Heng thinks Mo has become interestet in mascot characters, tells Cher-aim he only speaks with Mo once a year and asks to borrow money from her to pre-order something. Since in the Jv Choko never has a specific suspect all of this doesn't happen, however there is still a very similar scene where C and H follow boss from the office to the restaurant where he's supposed to meet with H. Haruta tries to get out of it, first by telling Choko he's suddenly got a bad stomach ache, then by pretending he didn't see the boss go into the restaurant but Choko keeps pulling him along.
Sneaking In:
Cher-aim tries to sneak in without her dad noticing but he's already waiting for her. He tries to tell her about meeting Heng the following saturday but in the end he can't do it and lies instead. They hug, boss looks sad, Cher-aim plotting. There is no equivalent scene in the Jv but as previously mentioned, boss's struggle of wanting to tell C but not being able to is also seen in the divorce stand-off scene in the Jv.
At Home:
Mo is at home complaining about Heng's many packages, Heng is smug because he thinks Mo has also gotten into the collecting hobby. When Heng asks him what he had been doing after work Mo evades the question. Heng then gets a call from Cher-aim asking him to meet the following saturday to follow her dad who seems to be meeting his secret lover for a birthday celebration. Heng agrees and then wonders whos b-day it might be only to realise it's his. The "equivalent" scene in the Jv is quite different. Haruta comes back to the office and mopes around Maki, asking if he needs any help which Maki denies, later he asks Tagegawa if Maki's been having any problems which Takegawa denies, making Haruta confused. He then gets a call from Choko asking him to follow her husband that evening as he wrote about going on a date in his calendar. Both versions Hs try to convince C that it might be a work appointment at first, both are thwarted by boss being too obvious in his calender (Jv: word "date" in a physical book-type calender, Tv: heart emoji in his phone's calender).
Invitation:
Heng meets boss in his office, boss asks him to meet up on saturday. Heng tries to get out of it by claiming he has plans to play badminton with Newyear which is immediately thwarted by Newyear coming to ask for a day off to visit his sick mom which boss happily grants so Heng reluctantly agrees to meet boss. In the Jv boss invited Haruta via text at the end of the scene where Choko and Haruta meet at the cafe. Thereby the order is changed between adaptations. In the Jv boss invited him first and then Choko asked him to spy on the date while in the Tv Cher-aim asked first and boss invited Heng afterwards meaning Heng knows at the time of invitation that boss thinks of this as a date while in the Jv he only realised when Choko told him.
Asking Mo for Help:
At home at the dinner table Heng annoys Mo by clearly trying to say something but not doing it. When Mo calls him out on it he tries to trick Mo into going to meet boss instead of him. After explaining the situation off-screen Mo tells him to tell Cher-aim the truth (in exactly the same way Heng predicted to Chicha previously). Heng beggs him to help but Mo says he's busy using the same excuse Heng tried to use with boss (badminton with Newyear) which Heng knows to be a lie. Mo then tells him it doesn't matter, he needs to fix his problems himself. There is no such scene in the Jv as Maki isn't really involved in the Choko plotline at all. Heng trying to get Mo's attention by being annoying can potentially be somewhat compared to Haruta doing something similar at the beginning of the previous Jv office scene which ends in Choko calling about the date, though it's also just generally in character for both versions of H.
At Boss's Place:
Cher-aim sends off her dad who's still pretending he's having a work meeting. After he leaves, Heng appears from around the corner to follow him with Cher-aim. This scene is also somewhat comparable to the Jv scene where C and H follow boss to the restaurant though we don't get anymore actual following in the Tv as we had already seen them follow Mo previously.
(
Following Boss:
Choko and Haruta follow boss from HQ to the restaurant. This is the previously mentioned scene that inspired the Mo-following scene.
)
At the Restaurant:
Cher-aim and Heng sit in the restaurant with "disguises" (sunglasses for both, a pink wig for C, baseball hat and fake mustache for H) and watch boss arrive. In the Jv boss gets there first as the other two had been following him so they sneak in while he's already sitting there. No disguises in the Jv. In the Tv Cher-aim asks the waitress to come back later while in the Jv we see them having drinks on the table after a small time skip. Jv Boss then texts Haruta to ask why he's late. Meanwhile Tv boss calls H basically as soon as he's sat down there's no time skip. Before that Heng tries to leave by claiming a stomach ache like Jv H had done when following boss, he gets similarily shut down by C. Both Hs excuse the texts/phone call from boss as being work related (though Tv C briefly suspects Heng of spying on her for her dad before that). Both Cs go to the bathroom after that. Both Hs use this opportunity to call boss to say they won't be aable to make it, both are immediately spotted by boss from beyond some barrier in the restaurant. Tv boss briefly questions Heng's location and appearance to which Heng only answers with "surprise!" both Hs react similarily awkwardly to being found. Both Hs then sit with boss and boss gives them an update on the C situation (Tv has been dropping hints, Jv hasn't found the right timing yet). Both Hs play along with boss for a bit (boss suspecting his daughter having a bf obvs exclusive to the Tv, Jv boss instead talks about missing H and having dinner being ok despite no divorce yet). Both Cs come back and gesture at H to come back over. Jv C also texts with H while H splits his attention between texting back and boss. Both bosses excuse themselves to the bathroom. On the way Tv boss walks past C who hides behind a plate, turning her back to her dad. Jv C does a similar thing a little later in the scene. Both versions C and H meet again as soon as boss is out of sight (tho Jv H runs to C, Tv C runs to H). Both Hs say that boss's date has cancelled and they should leave. Both bosses come back before they can, Jv boss just normally from the bathroom, Tv boss with lights out and a birthday cake. Both versions H and C jump to hide. Jv C steals a waiter's tablet hand hides her head behing it. Tv C jumps behind the bar and also uses a tablet as extra shielding. Jv H & C then run out of the restaurant behind boss's back, boss receives a text from H telling him he had to leave due to an emergency. Meanwhile Tv boss stands there with his cake confused as to where Heng went while the light comes back on. He sees a plant trembling which Heng is holding onto and moves towards him. Shortly before he catches Heng, Mo swoops in thanking boss for the cake and blowing out the candles, the other restaurant patrons applaud. These scenes are pretty similar between the versions until the end where they differ a lot. Biggest differences being that the whole birthday thing is exclusive to the Tv as is Mo appearing and saving Heng.
Filming Evidence:
At the garage Mo tells boss Heng had an emergency and asked him to receive the cake for him. He also rubs it in again that he's living with Heng. Cher-aim films Mo receiving the cake with Heng's phone because it's illegal. She plans to use the clip to blackmail Mo into staying away from her dad. There is again no equivalent scene in the Jv as Jv Maki isn't involved in this plotline. The vibes of the "that's why I used your phone to record" bit are maybe similar to a Jv moment when H & C first start following boss and C says she knows boss hasn't left yet because she called pretending to be a client.
Back at Home:
After the restaurant thing both versions show H and M at home, though the content of the scenes is quite different. Jv Maki is mad at Haruta for talking to Takegawa about him. He's pissed about Haruta being insensitive, Haruta, who doesn't know the real context, gets annoyed he's getting scolded for his well intentioned actions and petulantly throws around some tissues. Tv Heng shows Mo the clip, telling him he'll delete it and apologising for dragging him into his mess. Mo makes him bow his head in a pology and uses the opportunity to present Heng with his b-day gift. It's a Mr. Saturnworld blind box. Heng realises that this is what Mo had gone to the toy store for. He opens it to find a grumpy? version of the character. Because this version isn't shown on the box they think Mo got scammed, Heng tells him he'll go with him to get a new one the next day.
(
Maro at the Bar:
Haruta goes to the bar to find Maro already there. He's asking Chizu to go on a date with him. Haruta tries to leave again but Teppei asks him to try a new dish to which Haruta eventually relents and comes back in.
)
Discovery Time:
Cher-aim tries to sneak in again, only to again be caught by her waiting dad. Cher-aim calls him out for having cake frosting on his sleeve, boss tells her to tell if if she comes home late again. They hug again with boss looking dejected and Cher-aim plottingly. Boss leaves to take a shower and Cher-aim looks at the present boss had failed to give Heng contemplatively. Jv shows boss looking sad in the shower while Choko is looking through his stuff. Eventually she finds a notebook that has her looking in boss's direction angrily.
(
Back at the Bar:
Haruta complains to Teppei about Maki being mad at him while tasting the new chicken wing with caramel sauce combination. Chizu joins them as Maro went outside to take a call. Haruta remarks that he seems to be serious about her to which she asks if that makes him jealous. They then briefly fight about her chest size before Haruta gets a call from Choko.
)
The Grand Reveal:
The next day, Heng meets Cher-aim in a cafe where she shows boss's b-day gift to him which is a jar filled with origami stars with an individual message in each of them. As she explains we see her reaction to seeing the gift and a shot of her dad making the gift. Seeing how "Mo" makes her dad this happy, and the love apparently shared between them, she decides to cheer her dad on insted and tells Heng as much. She thanks Heng for his help and tells him he's the best person she's met to which Heng responds that he's not a good person.
In the Jv Haruta also meets Choko at a cafe but it's still the same evening. She sadly tells him she's discovered undeniable proof of her husband having an affair. She explains about finding his secret notebook about his lover where he's written down everything about "Haru-tan". While she explains we see boss post shower seeing the notebook on the table alongside a note from Choko that reads "Thank you for everything" and run out. At the cafe a waitress asks to take their order but Haruta asks her to come back later (like Tv in the restaurant scene). Choko tells Haruta she'll walk away, that boss deserves to be happy if he's so deeply in love with "Haru-tan". Haruta thinks it's wrong to leave without talking but Choko remarks that she still has some pride left, won't cling to a man who loves someone else. Haruta says they've been together for 30 years and boss isn't someone who runs away from reality (weeeell that's debatable, but not in this case I guess). Choko tells him he's such a good man, Haruta denies, saying there's nothing good about him. Both are crying. While all of that happens we get several shots of boss running through the streets, looking for Choko until he sees her in the cafe. He goes to them asks why Choko is crying and initially thinks Haruta said something to upset her (this might be the only time boss seems to actually be mad at Haruta for a second). Choko and boss both tell each other they need to say soomething to the other, Boss sits down next to Haruta, who tries to leave but gets pulled back to his seat the other two (they're in a booth so after sitting down boss has blocked H's only way out). Choko asks boss if he's come to hate her which he denies vehemently, admitting though that he's fallen in love with someone else. She asks if it's "Haru-tan" which he affirms and then who "she" is. Haruta tries to escape by climbing over the back of the seat but is pulled back by boss. Boss finally admits "Haru-tan" isn't a woman but a man. Choko is confused. Boss tells her the one he loves is Haruta and pulls him into his arms. She asks Haruta for his name and he answers "Haru-tan" while crying. Choko screams, boss hugs Haruta tighter, the episode ends.
In the Tv boss sees C and H in the cafe. He'd been following her due to his suspicion of her having a boyfriend. He tells her she can date anyone she wants but not lie to him about it and asks who the guy is. He turns around Heng's head and realises it's him. Confused he asks Heng what he's doing here to which Heng again answers "Surprise!". Cher-aim and boss tell each other they both have something to tell the other, so boss sits down next to Heng (free standing table with chairs). Heng tries to leave but boss bulls him back into his seat. C tells her dad that she knows about his feelings he's been hiding from her and that she asked Heng to help her find out. Boss apologises, telling her he's been trying to tell her but it's not that easy, she interrupts to ask "because it's a man, right?". She tells him that if he makes him happy she's okay with it. Boss is reliefed/touched and thanks her, asks her if she wants to know who it is. Heng says "No" and tries to leave again but in once again pulled back down by boss who tells C it's Heng and pulls him in with one arm. Cher-aim asks Heng about his name who replies that his name is Heng but boss likes to call him "Hengny". C exclaims "The real Honey is you!" looking mad, boss lets go of Heng and the episode ends. Again this scene is pretty similar in both versions though the context and the emotions esp. from C are quite different. Particularily noteworthy imo is that because there's no cheating in the Tv we get a brief quite sweet moment of Cher-aim accepting her father's love for a man (parents coming out to their children definitely a rarer sight than the other way around in BL, probably in media in general).
Post-credit Scene:
Mo and Heng in the toy store trying to return the "fake" Mr. Saturnworld doll. The seller tells them it's a rare special edition which they don't believe at first but do when he and several other patrons try to buy it from them for increasing sums of money. Mo thinks they should sell it but Heng refuses because it's a birthday gift from his friend. Mo is touched but still thinks he should take the money. The seller asks to at least take a picture, takes a polaroid of the two with the doll and Heng writes "this on is mine" on it (over Mo).
General Thoughts:
again we're seeing Mo being more involved in the story compared to Maki in the Jv and we're seeing added material to show the developement of M and H's relationship in more detail
because the Jv only had 7 eps compared to the 12 of the Tv, the Jv has multiple storylines running at the same time. In ep 2 tha main story was about H & M being able to live together/Maki's feelings for Haruta but simultaneously there were small scenes setting up the Choko storyline of ep 3, then in ep 3 it's mainly Choko's storyline but small scenes are setting up the Takegawa storyline. In comparison the Tv has, so far, kept the storylines more contained to their own episodes which makes sense as they have more time available
despite the differing episode count, so far, the Tv hasn't elongated storylines. Ep 1, ep 2 and ep 4 all tell the same main storyline in one episode as the Jv, with ep 3 adding completely new material that has no equivalence in the Jv. It will be interesting to see if they stick to that concept or if later storylines get elongated or mixed up differently to increase the runtime
we're seeing the inclusion of some classic Thai tropes like the lights out birthday cake thing
some of the side characters, especially Chicha and Thua-ngok are seen less often in the Tv so far, this might be evened out with the original storylines though
#ossan's love thailand#ossan's love th#ossan's love#next ep looks like more original story again tho this time there might be some more jv bits woven in but we'll see#while this is a bit tedious and i definitely have more important things to do it is so interesting to do scene for scene comparisons#of the two versions seeing the small to big differences and similarities. i highly recomment it at least for the bigger scenes#that tend to be quite similar at least in structure#and including the hk version would probably be even more interesting if that version also stuck to the jv this closely#so if anyone knows any film students looking to do some comparative analysis you can reccomend ossan's love

22.12.2023
I'm sad that I couldn't bring myself to write journals lately, because fun stuff happened! But I can't write them now, it's too late and I forget stuff easly. So let's write about today.
I had silly dreams today. First one was about me, my best friend and our friend A at a book store. I was buying Noragami, Hanako and something else and one of our schools PE teachers was working there for some reason?? It was funny. Than we walked out of the store and a boy from my class was walking around the shopping mall eating icecream. He walked up to our geography teacher who happened to be there too and told her that another boy from my class works in America and that he earns 50 dolars a month. My secound dream was about me going back home from school I suppose. I wanted to take a bus to my village but I took a train??? I have NEVER been in a train before. So I sat in the free space in a train, in something that reminds me of a small room, with 4 to 5 different people and the ride had begun. I was looking outside the trains window and I was figures of deers, in different poses and they were looking like real animals, but like, frozen? It made me creep out a little bit. And after some time bizzare things started to happen. Some kind of a weird monster got in the train and we had to fight it. At first everyone froze and were scared to move but I got so scared that I bit the monster. It had multiple heads and I started to bite them off. And so I defeted this creature with help of other people. I think that the monster attack had more stages/phases after this but I woke up soon after so I don't remember much.
When I woke up I've eaten breakfast that my dad did for me and soon after that a mailman came to our house with a package for me. I was very happy because it was my package with Sailor Moon Eternal Edition volume 1. I love Sailor Moon, and it's a very sentimental anime for me. I was happy that it's avaible at my country as a manga again. I started to read it imidiately. I really liked it. I really want to rewatch first 2 seasons and continue on watching Sailor Moon but I'm too busy watching other anime right now. Maybe after I will finish Inuyasha.
I also cleaned around the house today. It's Christmas soon and I had a mess in my room so I had to take care of it. I rearranged my furniture a little bit. I like the way it is now.
I've played minecraft a little bit today too. My best friend made a server with their friends so I was invated to play with them. I wandered around a little bit and I need to start building my house tommorow.
Today was due for my school powerpoint project but I think I'm to tired to do it at night so I will just leave it for tommorow. I feel bad about it but oh well. I hope my teacher won't be mad.

Bimonthly Media Roundup
- Jojo's Bizarre Adventure (Anime) - As a celebration of multiple successful years of our weekly anime nights, my friends and I have decided to rewatch the anime that started it all, JJBA (or at least the first few parts). I'm actually surprised on how much insane stuff I forgot from Parts 1 and 2 given it's really the later parts that start to get truly out there but I guess it's Jojo's bizarre adventure for a reason, even part 1 is a pretty different experience than a normal anime. Admittedly I drifted in and out of Part 1 when Dio wasn't on screen, but Part 2 is carried by having the charismatic and lovable Joseph Joestar as it's protagonist, so that' been a blast. In general it's nice to watch something that has fun and doesn't take itself too seriously sometimes.
- The Umbrella Academy (TV) - Wow okay well I'd heard that this season was bad but man that sure was rotten huh? While I thought Season 3 was weaker than the previous two, it did still have it's moments, namely some fun bonding time between the siblings, Umbrella's famous musical numbers, some neat set-pieces, and a nice little wedding to close out the season. This season had none of that, and even in the first episode it was obvious that the charm had been completely sapped away. A lot of the criticism I've seen points towards the notably awful moments of the season, like Five cheating with Lila, the powers being inconsistent and lame, the overly contrived marigold stuff, and the everyone dies ending, which I agree are all bad, but I'm more disappointed by the lack of any good moments rather than the outrageously bad ones. The whole season was just so bland and depressing, the characters were all miserable caricatures of themselves, the comedy was gross/awkward/ and wholly unfunny, the only memorable musical moment was an annoying as hell one, and everything going on in the plot was contrived nonsense that didn't fit at all with the previously established canon. Obviously ending your show themed around adults dealing with the aftermath of child abuse with "actually it is your fault that your loved ones are suffering and actually your abusive father had kind of a good reason for what he did and the only way to fix things is for all of you to erase yourselves from existence completely as there's no other way to break the cycle" is thematically the worst thing you could possible do, though the anatomy of the season has drained me of any will to be mad at the ending so much as just apathetic towards it. It's pretty sad to see it go out like this, while TUA was never a top 10 favorite of mine I did have fun with it, it sucks that the last 4th of the show was bad enough to taint the product ass a whole. Though to be honest, I can't remember the last live action show I watched that didn't end in some flavor of disappointment, maybe stopping in the 2nd season is just the way to watch TV now.
- Cowboy Bebop (Anime) - Continuing our journey into the top rated anime of all time, my sister and I have now blown through Cowboy Bebop. While I would still say it's a little overrated, it's prestige at least partially the result of nostalgia and lack of variety at the time, unlike Steins;Gate I do think it at least deserves to be remembered fondly, it really is a solidly good show, and great in many aspects. The Show's standout trait is certainly it's style - the art, aesthetic, and world of Cowboy Bebop is beautiful and unique with detailed lived in backgrounds of it's various grungy Sci-fi cities, lovingly detailed spacecrafts, post-apocalyptic environments, and thoughtfully designed background/side characters that help the world feel grounded and charming. The 4 leads are also all solid, with great designs, interesting backstories, and enough variance from their standard character types to be interesting on their own. I do wish they had more instances of working/hanging out together, as while they do definitely all have a notable dynamic with each-other they spend the majority of the show by themselves, either on individual adventures, flashbacks, or even just hanging out alone on the Bebop. While they are interesting on their own, most of the comedy, charm, and emotionally hard hitting moments of media come from intro-personal relationships, so the show does suffer a bit by not having those be as strong as they could be, particularly near the end. That being said I do miss the episodic story telling of the show that's missing in most modern media, while not every episode is a hit most of them are pretty entertaining, and it's nice to see so many different stories play out in this environment. Faye's backstory in particular is pretty strong, as is slowly gets unraveled and has you going "oh yeah, this would definitely happen in a future created by humans", and while her outfit confounds me I do quite like her 90's anime woman femme-fatale design, it's nice to see adult characters that look like adults in animation. Spike's is less interesting to me as while I like the character fine enough (His fighting style being a standout) I don't think the show does anything interesting enough with his ex-con backstory to separate it from the multitude of other media with neigh identical plots, and it leads directly into the rather lackluster ending of an otherwise solid show. I think that's a controversial take on my end, so I'd like to clarify that it's not the tragedy of the ending that bothers me, it's the pointlessness of it. No it doesn't remotely compare to something as bad as TUA Season 4, wherin the pointlessness comes from the writers incompetence, but I just don't jive with the philosophies being presented. I'm more of a "There is no intrinsic meaning to existence so live as freely and cringely as you can as there will always be new opportunities for connections and joy" girlie rather than a "Your past may haunt you but you can give your life purpose by confronting it even at the cost of your future" girlie, you know? It would be fine if the pointlessness was intentional or the tragedy was a reflection of the inherent evils of capitalism or the human soul or whatever, but as it is it's just kind of a bummer. Oh well, honestly it's only a small portion of an otherwise great show. I'd be remiss not to mention the soundtrack before ending this, which is also quite charming with it's heavy western influence. I'd say charming is my main takeaway from the show overall, there's a lot of attention to detail in the character animations, setting, and writing that make for a very pleasant watching experience, I'd reccomend it as a whole.
- Jujutsu Kaisen (Anime) - Yup.
- Malevolent (Podcast) - Been on and off with this as my work has gotten a little hectic and I don't always have time to pay attention to a story heavy podcast, but overall Season 3 has been fun. I'll save my thoughts for later but its nice that we are getting some relevant secondary characters and John and Arthur admitting they care about eachother as a baseline is progress.
- Persona 5 (Video Game) - Thinking of maybe going back and finishing this as I've seen some fun fan material and remembered how much I like the games cast, style, and play-style. Too bad the anime is notoriously bad or I'd put it on as background chill time.
- Trash of the Count's Family (Webcomic) - Caught up with the newer chapters after taking a couple months hiatus. I am enjoying it,though I don't know if this is the fault of the adaptation or what but the pacing feels way too fast lately. It's cool that the cast gets to travel to exotic fantasy locations and meet odd new people but when they spend less than a chapter with each one it really feels like a missed opportunity. The underground perma-night Elf Death city seems so fun, can we please explore it a little - especially since they apparently got to spend a whole week there that we weren't allowed to see? I like Cale, and I want to like this huge found family he keeps collecting, but rarely do any of the characters get any real focus outside of how they'll be a future asset to Cale. Let them participate more in the story please, give them a chance to be more than a loose collection of character traits.
- Cult of the Lamb (Video Game) - This has been a fun time, I've blown through the base game and had a great time growing my cult and unlocking all the fun new things my little cultists can do, like the tailor, breeding, and alehouse. The graphics are very cute and the absurdity of some of the requests and situations make it fun to play and talk about, so huge props there. I've slowed down since reaching the post game, though there's still plenty of content left there for me to get into. Overall I'd recommend the game, it's cute, fun, and has a good bit of lore that's fun to discover. That being said, I will say that the dungeon crawling aspect of the gameplay can get a little tedious after awhile due to lack of any real variety, as the different fleeces and weapons don't really change the play-style up significantly enough to feel distinct each run in the way Hades or Persona games tend to. This isn't a huge problem for a shorter game, as I can't say there's no fun in fighting, but the switch version of the game can get pretty glitchy and will occasionally crash your progress, making going back to do a run pretty frustrating. It's still worth your time, but it may be better to go for the PC version.
- Genshin Impact (Video Game) - Yup.
Listening To: Good Luck Babe, Red Wine Supernova, My Kink is Karma, Casual, and HOT TO GO! by Chappell Roan, Harpy Hare by Yaelokre, The Main Character by Will Wood, Dial Drunk by Noah Kahan, Save a Horse, Ride a Cowgirl by Chloe Breez and Annapantsu, Too Sweet, Lunch, Bitter, and Stick Season covers by Reinaeiry, Tounges and Teeth and Metaphor by The Crane Wives, Espresso, Taste, and Please Please Please by Sabrina Carpenter, Like a Prayer by Madonna.
#weekly roundup#my post#I procrastinated so long on this one that I finished Dungeon Meshi...#but I'll save that for next time#honestly I go back and forth about CB's ending as Spike's inability to move on was clearly intentional

hello folks!! i have been rating nuwho seasons and it has been a while so!!! it is time for series 5!! also deleted series 11 thoughts because 1. i want these to be in order 2. i want to rewatch the series as well before rating it 3. i disagreed with my own thoughts
just my personal extremely unprofessional opinions mostly based on Vibes, so feel free to disagree!! but now! series 5!
1. Vincent and the Doctor (5x10) - SO good, i love that they showed vincent that his works will be appreciated, that moment was so great. loved the general story, too, and how the "evil" creature wasn't actually evil and how everyone was so kind it was very beautiful to me. also, i always smile when i remember "the ultimate ginge" it was so funny to me
2. The Beast Below (5x2) - really really really like this episode like. already just for the visual look, i love it so much. the story is good imo, and i love that they managed to save the star whale, all hail amy pond!!! the ending was adorable i think. will never get over how visually gorgeous this episode is imo
3. Amy's Choice (5x7) - SUCH a fascinating episode, toby jones is fantastic as the dream lord and at least i kept doubting like no it's this no that AND IT WAS BOTH!?!? yeah love this episode, also rory is with us!!! he's so great guys one of my favourite companions for sure
4. The Pandorica Opens/The Big Bang (5x12/5x1) - a great finale, i lovedddd how little amy came back and she helped save the world and the timey-wimeyness is SO GOOD y'all i love steven moffat because he does timey wimey stuff and i LOVE timey wimey stuff like all paradoxes and like going back in time to do something in the future etc etc is SO SO INTERESTING and you can do it in doctor who i need timey wimey stuff to happen even more in doctor who tbh
5. The Eleventh Hour (5x1) - great introduction to both amy and 11, the story is good + OLIVIA COLMAN RAHHH honestly i need her to come back to doctor who in a bigger role like even as the doctor or the master she's fantastic, but yeah i like this one too
6. The Time of Angels/Flesh and Stone (5x4/5x5) - i like the story and the scene where the angel is appearing through the video clip and when amy had to walk with her eyes closed like the forest scenes were honestly so good, ANDDDD THE FACT THAT THE DOCTOR DOESN'T HAVE HIS COAT AND WHEN HE COMES BACK HE HAS IT ON YOU CAN SEE IT AND IT'S NOT A MISTAKE IT TIES TO THE SERIES FINALE I'M SO INSANE ABOUT THAT, always LOVE seeing river song, the angels moving on screen kinda sucks, however i'm fine with that because of the theories that they move between frames or the crack affects their abilities, and also the scene between 11 and amy at the end of the 2nd part was NOT good like i've heard steven moffat regrets writing it tho can't confirm that, and yeah he should like it doesn't add anything to the story, it's creepy, deeply uncomfortable and makes no sense
7. The Hungry Earth/Cold Blood (5x8/5x9) - it's not bad, i like the exploration of how humans can be very cruel, absolutely LOVE rory i was so sad when he died and karen gillan's acting when amy is trying to remember rory AAAAA, also loved many of the side characters, but that one silurian and the mum made me SO. ANGRY. like y'all won't even believe how much i hate those two god i was so mad
8. The Lodger (5x11) - i like the story even tho it's probably not the best there is, it's pretty funny and i do like craig ngl, i know people don't like him because of james corden, however i'm not aware of ANYTHING i have no idea what he's done because i like barely know the name so he doesn't ruin it for me
9. The Vampires of Venice (5x6) - i like rory and amy in this but tbh i'm not a fan of the story, i liked the side characters tho and was sad when the girl didn't survive she was really nice :(
10. Victory of the Daleks (5x3) - the story is okay i think but tbh i wasn't too invested, also what's it with churchill being such a hero so often like he was NOT that great of a guy and definitely not someone i'd really see the doctor being friends with, the scene where they're sort of turning the robot guy into human is great, i really like it
that's it for today!!!! hopefully i'll post series 6 sooner lol

9-1-1 Rewatch
Season 2, Episode 13: Fight or Flight
Had to keep going my rewatch because I had to finish this storyline.
Of course Buck finds Chim (logically it makes sense but also we always need some Buck!whump).
That moment when Maddie and Doug are about to toast and he takes out the glasses from his mom - I can just feel Maddie's fear. I know they never say it directly, but I feel like he hit her after chipping that wine glass at the wedding years ago. Was that the first time he did?
The way Doug finds a way to blame everything he did on Maddie. I just want to strangle him. Also if I was there with him, I can image how guilty I would feel in Maddie's shoes.
How frustrating it must have been for Buck to be right about everything and the police are not listening to him because, as he says later, they have rules.
Bobby and Buck moment with all the Bobby as Buck's dad feels. Oh my heart.
Buck breaking rules to save his sister... I'm not mad. I object to Buck being called stupid (even if his actions were kind of stupid), he's focused. And when he gets all hyped up and super focused he just disregards everything else. Thinking that's one of those Buck has ADHD moments.
He looks so small sitting beside Eddie at the hospital. So small and scared. My poor Buck.
More Bobby as Buck's dad! Laying down the ground rules. Love it.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again, Maddie is brave. And resourceful. And clever.
Yeah Josh, get that info!
Oh that poor man. Just trying to help Maddie and then... Doug is just so evil.
Athena believing in Maddie and trying to comfort Buck. Shows how far her relationship with Buck has come from season 1, that's for sure.
Chris is the cutest.
Doug is delusional.
Way to club him over the head Maddie! When Doug is yelling for her is looks like a sad little boy.
The fight is so visceral. Its clumsy and desperate. It feels so real and shocking all at the same time. Top notch acting from Jennifer.
And then Maddie's like 'I am not dying with this asshole beside me. No way.'
Of course as soon as he had any idea of which direction she might be, Buck just ran off like a madman.
I read somewhere that Jennifer Love Hewitt convinced the writers to pair Maddie and Chim up. I don't know if that's accurate or not, but after this episode, I just knew, completely, that these two were going to be together forever. That last scene in the hospital, I tear up everytime.

so I've been rewatching mha in order to take notes for the fic I'm writing, and early season 1? bonkers, absolutely bonkers. How we've grown since then
for one thing, every time a certain person is on screen I am burdened with the knowledge that he's the traitor and I feel sad about it again
((also everything he does looks super suspicious and hindsight really is 20-20 isn't it))
some highlights include:
-"He doesn't look like they type to think," -Todoroki about Bakugou while watching the DvK 1 battle
- "I'm really angry right now!" -Bakugou to Iida over the comms at one point during DvK 1 (it was kind out of nowhere and I laughed out loud- Baku talking about his feelings??? What??????)
- Iida responding with, "I'm not asking about your feelings right now"
- Literally everything about the flashbacks in the DvK ep. Bakugou is so mad about the river thing.. Like so mad.... you'd think Deku killed his parents or something
- (it happened years ago and it wasn't that big of a deal at all and he's still like frothing at the mouth over it)
- Everyone thought Deku was super cool fighting until Bakugou went into a homicidal rage and tried to kill him,,, then they were just kind like,,, ooooooohhhhhhhh *wincing*
- my bestie Uraraka called him a martial arts master after he flipped Bakugou over his shoulder and that was pretty great
- for some reason I thought that when Deku punched upwards in that final ofa powered move he redirected Bakugou's blast to his face with his punch, but no, he didn't
- this means two things
- 1. all the damage caused by the punch upwards, (holes in the floor though multiple floors of a building, a tornado of wind that lasts for several seconds, all the windows shattering) was caused by Deku's punch and Deku's punch alone
- 2. Deku took Bakugou's blast DIRECTLY IN THE FACE AND BLOCKED IT WITH ONE ARM THAT GOT TURNED INTO A FRENCH FRY BECAUSE IT TOOK THAT ENTIRE BLAST HEAD ON ONE THAT WAS POWERFUL ENOUGH TO DESTROY THAT ENTIRE HALLWAY BEFORE AND HE LITERALLY ALMOST DIED WHAT-
god its like Deku wakes up every day and makes it his mission to ruin both of his arms by the time he goes to bed at night

So I just saw this post that made me mad but also made me laugh all at once. The post pretty much said that Handon is the most hated ship in the fandom and that even actress Danielle Rose Russel hates Handon and called them dragged out. That Handon only purpose was the bring Hope out of shell. And that Handon is a mother son relationship. It just goes on like that(and you can tell a H*ise made that post). It just made me laugh because 1 Danielle never said she hates Handon, I think she's one of the biggest handon shippers I've seen. I've seen so many people say at the beginning she was, but she still is now. 2 she never called Handon dragged. People are really still twisting around that interview she did back in March. When she talked about Handon she said she was really excited about where Handon is going. And that part where she said "dragged out to get to this point" she wasn't talking about handon(it was a while after she stopped talking about handon when she said that) and even though she didn't state what she meant by that she could have been talking about anything, the malilandon plot, Hope finally putting herself first. But I guess antis decided to forget about the part where she said she was really excited about where Handon is going. And when they heard dragged out just decided that Danielle was talking about Handon even though she wasn't.
Also that part about the only purpose for Handon was to bring Hope out of shell is just not a very good argument or even true. Because if that was the case handon would have been over after s1, they wouldn't have kept them together. Even Brett said in an interview back in June that Landon is one of the, if not the most important person in Hopes life. Whenever I see people say stuff like that I'm truly convinced that they're watching a completely different show.
And let's be honest the only mother/child relationship on the show is between Hope and that school. They go to her with every little problem they have. They expect her to put the school and them over herself all the time(just like a mother would for their child). And then when she does put herself first for once they act like she's betrayed them.
P.s sorry to vent/rant like this. It's just whenever I see stuff like that I get a little upset. And not because they took the time to twist around and make up stuff. It's that they tag Handon in it, so we can see it, probably thinking it's some type of win for them(kind of like how they think the new staff writer is gonna give them a win, but that's a whole other thing that I don't want to get into right now). I can get not liking a ship and wanting your ship to happen and I know ship wars are a thing no matter fandom your on. But can they just stay off our tags. Because it honestly feels like they're more obsessed with Handon than we are.
I’m not even surprised, sounds like the same old stuff. Yeah, Danielle has never expressed that she hates Handon, quite the opposite. Ikr, she still likes Handon, why else would she have suggested Hope sing a love song to Landon if she only liked Handon in the beginning? If she hates Handon so much now, why did she say in that March interview how excited she was about Handon this last season and how big a part Landon has played in Hope’s character arc and how much she’s enjoyed playing how that has impacted Hope? In a season where Hope’s love for Landon was solidified more than ever, and she fought for him all season long? Do they honestly think that if she hated Handon that she would’ve been acting that happy and excited in that interview, and voluntarily bringing up Handon throughout the interview without being asked?
And yes, she never said Handon’s relationship in general was dragged out. They really do twist everything and completely ignore the last part of her sentence where she said she thought “it was a bit dragged out to get to this point.” And now that we know there was no Handon breakup, we know she didn’t mean she thought it was dragged out to get to the point of them breaking up, so why are people still holding onto that? And she actually was talking about Handon when she said that, I went back to rewatch that bit to make sure and she was responding to a question about Handon. But I don’t see that as anything negative about Handon at all, because if Danielle thought things were dragged out to get to this point for Handon’s relationship, what point did Handon get to? Yes, they’ve been in a horrible situation all this time and have been apart when they haven’t wanted to be, and they have a lot more crap to deal with, but Hope’s love for Landon is as strong as ever and she’s determined to fight fate to be with him. So how does this help the antis? But like you said, Danielle didn’t say what exactly she meant. She said it was a “long time coming between the characters,” so she could’ve been referring to Malilandon, or Hope and Landon coming to terms with their fate and fighting that, or yeah, she could’ve meant Hope putting herself first and fighting for her happiness with Landon when she struggled with that in the first two seasons. Which was dragged out imo, it took a while for Hope to get this point where she believes that she and Landon can be together and be happy, and that they don’t have to be doomed. And it’s taken a while to get the point where they’re really facing Malivore as well, so Danielle could’ve been referring to any of these things. But however I look at it, I don’t see how it means anything bad about Handon when you consider the context of how she said “dragged out” as well as what happened with Handon this last season. But yep, people will pick and choose what they want to hear and what they want it to mean, while ignoring all the positive things Danielle said about Handon.
And yeah, if people think the purpose of Handon was only to get Hope “out of her shell”, they’re really just not watching the show. Hope and Landon’s relationship has done so much more than that, it’s helped both Hope and Landon grow and develop as characters in so many ways. And if I went into all of those ways, this post would become even longer, I could write a whole other post about it. But it’s crazy how people totally miss so much of what goes on in the show. And true, Handon wouldn’t have lasted if that was their only purpose, and Brett certainly wouldn’t have said that about them either.
My gosh, not the “mother/son” thing... yeah, when it comes to Hope protecting others like a mother would, yes to all you said, you’re right. Once again, people pay no attention to the fact that Hope protects and saves everyone at the school all the time and how dependent they are on her, how they expect her to do everything for them. Meanwhile, Landon actually tries, he doesn’t expect Hope to do everything on her own and doesn’t want her to either. He has continuously done whatever he can to help Hope and is always trying to be better. Hope and Landon are a team, and that has been stated on the show, Hope literally called them a power couple. Yet those people really keep comparing their relationship, a romantic relationship, to a mother/son relationship? I can’t...
And I get that, it’s definitely so annoying how they’ll tag Handon in their stuff, it can make it almost impossible to avoid hate sometimes. Yeah, it seems they do just wanna take what they think is a win and rub it in Handon fans’ faces. Exactly, the least they could do is stay out of the tags. It makes it so obvious what they’re trying to do when they don’t. Haha yeah, it really does seem like they’re more obsessed with Handon than Handon fans sometimes with the amount of time they spend hating on them. It’s pretty sad.

(1) so i binged the 1st season of sotus and i still dont know how to feel about krist but i have to say i think he did a good job as arthit i honestly enjoyed the series a lot and seeing krist didnt even bother me that much??? i also loved the dynamic of the hazer team they’re so funny together i don’t even know which one is my fav hazer (it’s gunsmile) and i’m sad to say that i agree kongpop was a bit boring i wished they would give him some sort of conflict the whole season but it didnt happen
(2) also i love the female characters!! i haven’t been watching thai dramas for long like i’ve said before but from what i’ve seen a lot of the female characters on bl shows are written as villains and they are written very badly might i add so this show was a breath of fresh air from all that bullshit also kudos to sotus for actually having a lesbian character like yes yes yes finally some good fucking food! i’ve read some people say the 2nd season was really disappointing.. what do u think??
hi!!! I'm happy you liked it!
it's great timing too because I rewatched sotus right before leaving Paris for my holidays so it's still fresh in my mind
I personally realized how much I love Arthit during this rewatch, I mean I always liked him but it's during my third rewatch that I realized how much of a great character he is. it has nothing to do with Krist either, like it's literally the only show I've personally seen him in but I do think he's a good actor, especially as Arthit.
yes the hazer team is amazing, honestly friendship groups are often the best thing about thai drama, they're always done wonderfully well
yeah Kongpob is just... too perfect, it's annoying. they should've given him at least one flaw lmao
YES YES YES the female characters in sotus are good!!! like they're a little bit underdeveloped imo but the three of them are not written as villains which is already a win in itself.
it's honestly astonishing how shows about mlm that are made for a women audience (which is already questionable in itself) really have the audacity to make the only female characters (there's often only one female main character and she plays the girlfriend while there's a whole group of male friends as main characters) in their shows so fucking terrible the mainly female viewers will hate them. but it's also mainly about sexism imo
and yes!!! a wlw character!!! honestly they should've shown her getting a girlfriend it would've been adorable. honestly I'm still astonished that there's no wlw thai shows. like give us the high school romance we deserve you cowards!!!
as for sotus s... i really didn't hate it as much as other people. i mean my standards are pretty low because other sequels like together with me next chapter and what the duck final call literally ruined the original shows for me. (I'm especially sad at wtd final call because it was literally one of my fave shows and they ruined one of my most beloved ship for me lololol I'm still mad months later)
so yeah it's not terrible but it's not great either. I mean if I give sotus a solid 7/10 and I would give sotus s a 5.5/10. it's watchable. there are good moments. but it's nothing to go crazy about. I'd say give it a shot, at least it won't ruin the original show for you
our skyy, though? watch that. the acting is great and it gives an amazing conclusion to their story! overall all the our skyy episodes are really cute so I would advise you to watch them all, my favorite being the morktee one followed by the kongthit one.
okay this got hella long haha, but thanks for sending me your feedback!
