While Geology isn't Jean's thing at all, he enjoys to see Quincy getting all enthusiastic with it. Seeing the value of the soil and its minerals wasn't he ever expected to get into, but Quin's passion was enough to hook him in. Now when the two are apart, even the simplest things such as tiny rocks at the beach remind Jean of him. So when re-meeting in Perth, he likes to bring Quincy collected things that could be of his interest.

One day, within the things brought there was a little blue stone. Jean had seen many similar to those since he was a child, but he never had the interest of knowing what they were (And its not like Reef or Nice had actual good answers either). Now with a rock expert at hand, he finally wanted to get an answer.

...Though for his surprise, turns out these stones weren't a natural wonder, sadly, just glass that once fell in the sea and ended differently on the shore. Despite the dissappointment, Quincy decided to reveal he also had been collecting them a while ago. So, they decided to collaborate by merging their collections together; increasing as reunions go by.

Time passes and passes, and in one meeting, Quincy brings a surprise for Jean: A seaglass bracelet made with the stones from their private collection. Turns out one of Quincy's younger sisters had gotten into jewlery recently, begging her brother to use such a pretty material for her craft. Quincy accepted, but as long as she also made a gift for his boyfriend.

Warmed by the gesture, Jean went and put it on his right arm, maybe with some help from the blondie. And for the cherry on top, Quincy himself shows off his matching one!

So, from now on, those adorable crafts serve as reminders of each other when they are apart.

Jean barely takes off his bracelet. Perhaps maybe before a match or hard training of course, since he's rather afraid of it falling off and/or breaking. But during his everyday life, he just brings it wherever he goes, no matter how casual it it. Perhaps to the point even his friends notice it too. Reef for example points it out at every occassion, enjoying to call it a "huge colorful wedding ring". While at first Jean would shun him off by the dumb joke. with time he came to like the comparison. It served as a good reminder of something he wanted to do later on.

Quincy meanwhile likes to show off his bracelet too, tho he does take it off during his Judo classes, rough excersive routines, or in any of his possible Outback trips. At some point in between his geology classes, the bracelet almost dissappeared from its sight and it made him go almost in full panic mode. The campus became a hell of a mess that day. Fortunately the object was found in decent shape, turns out it just fell due to a loosely tied knot. He needs to be more careful with that...

I return to post again and Tumblr's UI becomes a nightmare. Why.

Because of his short height, Shine became a victim of constant stigmatizing since childhood. Being seen younger than he actually was (And thus "weaker"), this led to people either mocking him or infantilizing him to an uncomfortable extent. Hating to be always treated either way, for a long while he tried to prove his own worth by any method possible. He'd constantly practice sports to improve his physical skills, he'd always try to do tasks/housechores without help from caregivers or parents, and even within school, he'd always try to study things in advance just so he could have greater notes. This did help to tone things down (Not always), and his parents seemed satisfied over his dedication to studies; but it's true that this routine started to pay a toll on his physical and mental health, which all collapsed entirely in his late adolescence.

When adulthood came and with an entirely different direction on life, plus with a more "acceptable" height, Shine still tried to keep a cool persona within his new university classmates. His way of studying had loosened up a bit since then (Minus when finals are happening), but he kept "masking" many parts of himself to the world.

However, there's many weaknesses to this mask that have persisted no matter the age. And the most common is... Cats. No matter if its in Queensland or Perth, if Shine ever stumbles upon a street kitty, he will inmediately go like "...Pspspspspspspsps...". He just finds them cute, what can I say.

Unfortunately, none of his circumstances have allowed him to have a pet. If it wasn't that his family just really hates pets, he would have adopted so many stray animals. And even later on when residing in grandma Sun's house, neither she has allowed him to bring a creature inside, her excuse being "They will disturb the nearby birds". At least he can give them a temporal residence in the garden, that's a thing...

Warning: Rather outdated joke below, keep in mind this was written almost a year ago. Also this is meant for my "Adult/GO" setting too.

In the Inazuma Eleven world, its McDonalds equivalent (And specially in Oz) is called something like... Mackie's. Bruce works there as a part time job outside the warmer seasons, since unfortunately being a lifeguard isn't forever.

Originally he chose MCK's since his favorite food are its cheeseburgers, but the job eventually made him DESPISE them. He's now more in team 'Cheese Queen', and he'd rather go eat there in his free time.

At least his job isn't that bad, as Quincy gets to visit him whenever he's free from Geology studies. Sometimes a blessing, sometimes a curse. And overall, Bruce doesn't enjoy being seen this way by others, so he can't help but feel embarassed with him around.

Complementary dialogue:

Quincy: [At the counter] I want to speak with your manager! NOW!!! Bruce: ...Cy, for the last time. My manager WON'T raise my pay if you insist him enough. He's an idiot, he won't listen to you. Quincy: But come on, mate! You work so hard here and you get just THAT!? You deserve so much more! Bruce: ... (...He's right, but I cannot speak it out.)

Bonus: Right when things couldn't get any worse for Bruce, when Jean gets to stay at Perth (At least in this very specific setting), he becomes a regular visitor of the Mackie's he works at, given he's a huge fan of the franchise. Dealing with him is HELL, because Poseidon might be able to stop many goals, but he can't choose what to eat for sea god's sake.

Shine is a koala person.

Bruce is a kangaroo person.

And ironically, he has quite the beef with koalas.

...Because of his attachment with marsupials as a kid, Bruce's father had the fantastic idea of bringing him to a natural reserve one day, as to see koalas in a wild state. Things went well and they got to see a few in the trees, but things turned complicated after the man got a call from work, and had to leave the hyperactive toddler at charge of his -.less active and clumsy- grandparents. With a recipe for disaster in the works, little Bruce was quick to dissappear from their sight, trying to pet a koala that was just passing by.

And well... He got attacked in response. Oops.

Bruce was lucky enough to not be bitten or be infected with anything koalas tend to carry; but the whole experience left a bad memory on him. Now every time he sees those grey fluff-balls, he gets on a "Flight or fight" response. Fortunately neither his friends, his family members nor the Horst are huge fans of koalas anyway, so he can easily avoid them. For now.

...But with the possibility of dating Shine, well, that will be hard, since the brunette is a die hard fan of them. In fact, Shine also had a close encounter with a koala back at a wildlife park visit, but with a better ending that improved even further his view on them. Now whenever Bruce's like "....You like THOSE things!?" he will jump right into their defense. He plans on the future to see how he could help him get over his fear, at least.

And yeah, because of his koala fear, chances are Bruce won't always have a good time with Clark or Reef either.
