[Phil hummed. “So it confirms what we already know. Wilbur was never Schlatt’s actual target, he was just collateral.”] yeah, but that’s not going to stop Phil from getting revenge. Which given the emotional constipation, is probably a way of dealing with his anger at himself for not realising Schlatt might make an attempt on Tomys’ live to try and secure Quackity’s throne and sending his own son along on the journey.
And Phil still knows this letter is not enough proof because 1. Sam is a useless piece of trash 2. It is still an incripted letter and 3. Schlatt’s money gives him too much damn power.
[Wilbur might not have been his target, but he now had to live with the consequences of surviving an attack like that. Phil won’t let something like that go unpunished.] intentions don’t matter, Phil’s son was hurt and he will make Schlatt pay. And he’s very aware of how much damage this did to his kid even beyond physical because he can read his boy that well.
[Every limp, every nightmare, every unwarranted flinch] see he did notice that flinch when getting his boy back. And he has no idea it was because his kid expected disappointment in his eyes. So of course he blames that on the trauma too (Tbf, the trauma probably made it worse).
I do like that they still run their theories by Wilbur (actually this is something else Phil might have wanted to say or ask when Ponk came in, though it fits less with the conversation, not that he could not changes topics).
And Wilbur is smart, he comes to the same conclusion, maybe has knows for a bit too. Even without thinking of Quackity’s warning. [“Schlatt.” Wilbur lifted the dagger and tested the weight in his hand.] <- definitely no foreshadowing to future beheading at all, (Phil wants that man dead)
[Wilbur’s heart pounded in his chest as he realized what they were discussing. “What are we going to do about him?”/The look in Phil’s eyes made chills run down his spine./“We have a plan.”] (scratch that, Phil and Techno want him dead, Niki too probably).
My guess is that they will frame him for something that will get him beheaded. It’ll be hard to prove he caused this assassination, but they could frame him for a different one, maybe make it look like he was planning to assassinate Niki or Sam. I’m sure there’s options and I don’t know them yet, but I will patently wait to watch this unfold.
(Also, getting rid of the threat on Tomys’ life will only make him more trusting and loyal.)
(2/2)

oh 100% phil wants revenge even though wilbur wasn't the target. wilbur still got permanently injured and traumatized by the experience so schlatt has to pay for that, even if it wasn't his intention. he's also so furious with himself for not seeing this coming. phil really hates being taken by surprise and with his own son's life on the line, he's never going to let something like that happen again.
yeah, a single letter really isn't enough to accuse one of the most powerful men in the country of attempting to murder a potential crown prince. even if sam WAS competent he would still have to relent to that.
actually, that was exactly what phil and techno wanted to talk to wilbur about before ponk came in! he was going to change the subject but they got interrupted. probably for the best because wilbur was not really in the best headspace to talk about that just yet. better that he wait a few days and feel more steady before playing the logic guessing games again.
literally they all want that man dead schlatt has done one thing for sure in this story and it's make a ton of enemies
hmm interesting yes framing could definitely work though it would be tricky. or it might be simpler than you think. you'll find out soon :)

all the satosugu shippers going all “ohhhhh doomed lovers” over the recent chapter has me like. I can’t find the ask I sent to you way back when but it was “their relationship is more like geto is the ex who breaks into the house and tries to kill gojo’s kids”. also shoutout to the people drawing art of those two reuniting. very lovely but that man is not in heaven.
Like tbf Gojo also committed mass murder so he in hell too but Gojo's mass murder was in defense of his kids. I recently saw someone say Gojo didn't care about the civilians in the train station and I feel like I'm reading a different story. He pushed himself to the absolute breaking point to save as many people as he could. Gojo has Never wanted to kill innocent people. With the cult they paid for a girl to die and Gojo wasn't sure if they should kill them or not. He had no particular desire to do it that's why he asked. His emotions were so muted under his euphoria high. So when he was told there was no point he shrugged and moved on but that was not Gojo in a normal state of mind. Geto was so hung up on the fact that Gojo Could kill everyone he never considered if Gojo Would or even if he Should <- which was Gojo's question
Geto is the one who simply views all humans as "monkeys" who he should be allowed to kill. And I am sick to death of the Gojo would have followed Geto anywhere posts when he Didn't. He literally let Geto walk away and decided it wasn't his responsibility to try and save him. Unlike Megumi and Yuji's dedication and devotion to each other. And the moment Geto set foot out of line Gojo took him out. Gojo misses his best friend from high school. Note how Gojo remembers everyone in heaven from when he was a teenager and they sit there and mock him and his growth bc they never knew Sensei Gojo. Yeah... anyways I think people took their cruetly to Gojo at face value instead of reading the story and seeing that Gojo was a grown man who chose his children over Everything.
And tbc you're never doomed to get into eugenics. Geto had a decade of self reflection on it and came to the conclusion he'd kill a teenager who was a sorcerer as his first big genocide move. Which to any genocide studiers out there you Know the 'target' is never the end. Genocidal people become obsessed will culling and anyone becomes a target. Sorcerers who didn't fall in line were very clearly on Geto's chopping block. And Gojo's gamble was a Terrible one because without Yuta's amazing RCT that he didn't even know he had Maki and Inumaki were 100% dead. Panda could have prolly been restuffed.
And I hate Hate comparisons like Geto was a good parental figure. He tooks those girls and bathed them in blood and turned them into monsters. Surronded them by bigotry, hatred, murder, and plans for genocide. Gojo took his kids and put himself as a shield in front of them. To get to his kids you had to get him out of the way. And Gojo more than anything wanted to give them a childhood of school and friends and baseball and relying on each other. Note Gojo trying to make the 2nd years leave because he wasn't even sure if killing the higher ups was right but he can't go away and leave them to hurt the kids again But he also doesn't want the kids to see him kill. Yeah. Geto said wow sorcerers dying for each other my dream?? Which dude Gojo helped raise this generation of sorcerers and you fucked off to make a cult that accomplished nothing and then scattered to the winds. And only one of them was even useful enough for Gojo to track down to help Yuta.
Geto died for genocidal bloodlust. Gojo died for his students.

Tbf Arizona was never particularly ambitious, especially not compared to some other characters. Like yeah sure she wanted to be a great surgeon but she wasn't like Cristina or Derek or even Callie. I think she's actually kind of an outlier compared to majority of other characters, because her career wasn't end all be all for her. I'd even go as far as to say she's literally the only character who would give up her career for her family, like if she and Callie had more kids, I could see her decide to be a stay at home mom for a few years.
here's my semi-interesting take on that: arizona achieved everything very young and very quickly. bc kenley died basically right after arizona finished her fellowship, and arizona took his job, she became the head of department super early. unlike callie or derek, she never really did much research. her "thing" was providing surgical care to underprivileged kids in developing countries - which she achieved through winning the carter madison - which she got a bit over a year after finishing her fellowship. arizona sort of spedran her career. she went to med school, did her residency and became chief resident, did her fellowship, became an attending, became head of department, and won a prestigious grant, all in very quick succession.
but yes, 100% i would agree that unlike most of the other characters, arizona has a surprising amount of work-life balance, at least from a mental standpoint. obvs there's only so much possible when your partner works in the same field at the same place, etc.
i also think it's important to factor in how arizona grew up/her family situation - ie how absent her father was, but also how tightly knit their family unit was. she's very aware of the impact of absent parents, so i think she'd be very conscious about being there for their kids. i'm not sure i'd go so far to say that she'd be a sahm, max taking an extended maternity leave/reducing her hours a bit.

i mean tbf harry potter is always a delight to rewatch. my comfort childhood movie~
hljlasdjkasd you alright?? have you been sleeping enough??
lol he would!! and when you accuse him of thinking of doing nefarious things with the invisibility cloak he'll flash you that faux innocent pout, "whatever do you mean, dear? how could you accuse me of such a thing?" i can definitely heizou running everywhere investigating all the curious things in the school... probably unlocked the chamber of secrets on his second year lol
YAASSSS he had the best 'azaaaar!' in the cutscene out of all the versions hahah oh dw the day it comes out if i'm not busy with family matters i would be frothing on my tumblr, look forward to me making a fool out of myself hskdjkd RIGHT??? i would love a mechanic like that hahah imagine other interesting combos like ayato-ayaka, or zhongli-xiao, or even between all the archons!!
i got 100% exploration on 3 areas!!! but now i'm sick of mond scenery oof lol it was relaxing tho you're absolutely right the fact that i get to leisurely admire zhongli as he runs around is a huge plus too no but i get you!!! looking for the oculi is just frustrating esp. for inazuma and sumeru... i don't blame you for pulling out guides cause i would too lol
I SAW lol i already can feel my brother rolling his eyes at me like 'don't you have enough anemo characters????' lmao- i'm gonna reply him with a haughty 'lalala can't hear you peasants i'm too busy flying around' once i got my hand on him :p
i have a feeling al haitham is gonna be a jerk and make me use my cc but let's hope not...
oh yeah i figured you would hahah woo 80 fates let's go!!! he'll come home early to his beloved, i'm sure! <3 if he don't he probably got distracted by paperwork lbrh i would love to get him too but i shall keep my expectation low... yesyes BEST OF LUCK FOR US BOTH 🙏🏻
i wasn't able to watch 3.3 stream live but i hope you had fun!! i'll probably check out the uploaded video today with my brother hehe and omg yes pls remember my spirit will be with you when you wish, i'm cheering you on with my pompoms :3
hskdjskdjs pls don't crack my husband's joints /j but like. wouldn't your fiance's joints crack too since he's sitting on that desk of his doing his paperworks for like... what, 16 hours a day? /j
also, food and water reminder!!!! <3 <3 <3
it is! i can never get enough of the world building in that series like LET ME IN, I WANNA GO THERE (and then zoom out when voldemort arc comes /j) 😮💨 my comfort movies all happen to be stopmotion like coraline, corpse bride, and book of life. i'd recc coraline because it's spoopy with a sprinkle of whimsicality ✨ do you have any other comfort movies you'd recc, rin jie?? i'll deffo try watching them in my spare time >:)
that fake innocence and cheekiness is what makes ayato so frustratingly kissable <//3 do i pinch him or do i kiss him jfkefjeks ngl, this helped me realize how much of a tsundere i can be at times 🚶and so true, heizou's life is just full of interesting events LOLLL i have a feeling most of the teachers would be frustrated with him, pfft. but late night adventures with heizou and sneaking out together.... cries.
ALSO. tugging zhongli to sit down with you and have a movie night — but the moment you lay your head on top of his chest, your eyelids just flutter to a close. the man's chest could rival any other pillows fjekkfjeks and for me, i think heizou would absolutely enjoy movie nights like he is the type to nerd out about his theories or his thoughts on a movie's ending... and i'm just there, snoozing against him halfway through the movie. why pillows when you can sleep on your beloved's chest >>> (/lh)
dw, i'm alright! i'm just glad december is coming soon 🤧 and i think i'll be able to post my vaporize entry soon too! it went from a long fic to a more condensed version with the same concept, but i hope the progress will be smoother this time~ and this is an interaction i imagine between zhongli and his walking bank: "ah, mr. zhongli! before we go, i wanted to let you know that i... uh, didn't bring my wallet today." "...oh, i see." (no mora will be spent today, i'm afraid /lh)
ngl, i am a little eager to see alhaitham's drip marketing too because it is likely i'll pull on his banner for kaveh, so we'll see if i get to reach pity for the scribe or not fjejjdjke AND DO SEND ME SCREENSHOTS OF SCARA WHEN YOU GET HIM 👀 it's for... research purposes, yes. also because i like the way he can float upwards LOLLL calamities just fall from the sky these days... a huge rock of order and punishment, then air blades from an angy floating guy with a hat 🫡
the stream was so fun! because i let out the loudest yell into my blanket when i saw ayato on the 2nd phase banner. it was a cry of joy because yes, my months of farming will be worth it 😭 if ayato comes home early and i still have lots of wishes left, i might pull for ei because i really like her playstyle and i have the catch at r5, hehe. and ty for cheering me on, rin jie! take care while you're on your break, ok?? we'll wait for you <3
#let's just collectively agree that both our husbands suffer from backaches 🤝 (/j)#and ty for the reminder! make sure to hydrate and eat your meals too >:) <3#ask box! 📬#visitor: dearest rin! 💠

tbf, the Oku arc also had the bs morgana/ryuji argument with inconsistencies like "Oh Ryuji's just in it for the fame/chicks!" as if his trauma from Kamo wasn't a thing, and like, when was he obsessed about getting chicks by being a PT? And then the plot favors Morgana even after running off, nearly running over the PT in car form (which i'm pretty sure would kill/injure them), and then robbing Haru of the big conflict scene with her dad
not to mention the same crap of Ryuji apologizing even though Morgana insulted HIM, akin to the Ann and Makoto situation; if we're pointing out character assassination in the Kamo arc it's only fair to bring it up in the Oku arc (not to mention Mona's whole hissyfit preventing the player from doing ANYTHING with free time, even though those scenes could've easily been edited to not include Morgana ye there're some damn good reasons the Oku arc is unanimously hated)
Under cut cause length (I agree but....there are things that make it a bit murky)
100% agree with the free time stripped away, that was a bad design choice. That being said, I don’t think P5 offers a lot to do after you max stats and max CoOps (P3/4 have a similar issue but, hear me out, P5 is newer and probably should’ve fixed that by now), like more free time is great for people that don’t have this game down to a science like me (I tend to literally just sleep the last like 14 days of the game so I can get to the next story beat cause there’s nothing else to do, first playthrough to boot....I’ve played too much of this game even for trophies orz). Royal helps a bit with the darts game and my Palace (latter being a curse and a blessing)...oh and the challenge mode (except you know....majority of it is behind a paywall :D....but like the batting cage and darts games I don’t feel any motivation to keep playing it, not like the counterparts with Judgement. Fishing is a bit better, maybe it’s because I have something to work towards (better gear, better bait?) but there’s not a lot of variety so I’m kinda bored fast. Tycoons’ fine, maybe add more card games, but that one is solid...but it’s outside of the time block mechanic so there’s no issue??? The arcade is a treasure trove of stuff we could do just for fun (I ought to make (another) post about what we could have tbh). The game is kinda barren in terms of stuff to do ironically (maybe they needed to bring back P3/4 style quests or maybe more mini games I dunno just something). Moving on tho
And also I agree Haru was ROBBED...and so was Oku. Nothing really more to say tbh, her spotlight was stolen and Oku suffered as well. (I mean Kane suffered too, and instead of having Mako’s spotlight stole she ruins other chars spotlight instead and set off a domino effect that’d lead to her and Futaba taking the most spotlight as the game goes on but I dunno I’m just salty 8U) At least how she joins isn’t bad (idea? good. Execution? bad), and the lack of screen time where it went wrong as well.
As for the other stuff....I agre....tho......here’s the thing (and what makes it murky)...when it comes to Mona....apparently they didn’t translate him well. He’s apparently NOT super mean to Ryu, he’s more of a joking kinda tone (at worst it’s P4 levels of banter, which.....imo is fine in theory since there’s no malice in those) when he does it. Like....take the part in a battle if Ryu misses, he’ll say “GAWD Skull, you’re PATHETIC!” with as much vitriol and contempt one could muster....but in the Japanese it’s like “you lame, lame guy” with an “ahaha haaaaa that was really bad :(” kinda tone (so it’s suppose to be like “haha....that was lame bro”). (he’s also supposed to come off as a wannabe gansta but they didn’t translate that.....unless they meant to translate him being insufferable then well 8U bad choice) So like...anytime he insults Ryu it’s suppose to be in a more friendly joking manner than what we got. This is probably why Ryu kinda lets him walk all over him. Ryu is suppose to be the one that actually fire shots first at Mona, and why it’s keen he apologizes first (that being said, even tho Mona’s shots are more playful/in good faith in the Japanese...I dunno how I feel about him doing that from like...the beginning when he barely knows them. 1) he lacks the familiarity and he does it from the beginning and 2) he lacks being the “mood lifter” that Yosuke’s role is coupled with putting his foot in his mouth, it makes no sense for Mona to be ragging on anyone even playfully). So apparently it’s more of a character assassination from the localization team (guess they didn’t fix it in Royal?). (it’s probably why.....iirc Mona ranked higher than Ryu in one of the first JPN polls?). (I still hate Mona tho, even tho I do know it’s possibly a localization error....I still don’t like him....plus other stuff he does too so...yeah). This isn’t the first time it happened tho in the series.
Past examples: PQ1, as much as I hold it higher than PQ2 all around, did character assassinate Teddy in one aspect. Him with Koro, in Japanese he has a failed but benign nickname/insult for Koro that’s like “puppy-doggy,” they translated it as “mutt” in english. Freaking mutt. I still think they should’ve used “Dawg”, not only is it closer to how the Japanese intended it, but it also works with Teddie already saying “fo’ sho.” Then there’s Yukari.....now I think it’s only with Junpei but apparently she’s more of a motherly scolding type when talking down to Junpei, and it doesn’t translate well in english (this and the “cold woman who keeps her emotions in tact” doesn’t either).....that being said I didn’t see it explaining her other bad behaviors so~! *shrugs*
THAT BEING SAID, man did Ryu come swinging OUT OF NOWHERE around Futaba’s dungeon. Straight up just calling him useless (ironically enough tho......he is) like????? Hold up, who are you and what have you done with my Ryu....but technically it was a bit before Oku’s arc started....and......while JARRING as all get out, it does make some sense.....it’s happened enough times befor Oku’s dungeon that they want to capitalize. And even if Mona’s banter was more in good nature, he and Mona still bantered so him maybe bullying him (partially cause fame is getting to his head now) isn’t TOO far off.
As for Ryu and wanting fame, I’ll....yield for now. I could’ve sworn Ryu had soooome build up of wanting to use his fame for girls.......Actually, wait, I remembered something (both Ryu and one contradiction, it’s a minor one but yeah, minor compared to other arcs in both multitude and magnitude tbh). I think it’s just he was enjoying the PT’s popularity a little too much (rather than just tied to girls). I feel like it’s an arc he’s going through rather than character assassination, a weird choice (esp since they treat it like a team too later but-I’ll get to that). I mean like I said with Dungeon 3, they were like “no we aren’t going after who the police are going after..........BECAUSE THEN THEY’LL TAKE THE CREDIT!” Like???? Didn’t think the fame went to your head just yet (you’d think it’d be starting as soon as Kane was caught rather than well prior). And then there’s.....Day Breakers....before we even got the game, happening sometime right as or right before Kane’s dungeon begins....he says some things that confused me. It was something along the lines of not wanting to go after small fish, or they needed a big target (the line was kinda implying eff the little guys)....and it confused the HELL outta me. Because we had JUST GOTTEN an article and Ryu was described as the reason the PT was formed, and everyone was like “Oh he cares so much about the victims!” only for him to not.....really.... with that line....and it was just weird. And while that is Day Breakers (it was made in mind to give us a taste of what was to come).....there’s that line I just mentioned that happens around the same time as DB.....which means the devs planned to this “we want to be popular” back in Mako’s dungeon..... which, in that dungeon it’s weird as hell cause we’re really not that far past them still being like “no save the victims above all else!” but again this change started happening in dungeon 3. Tbh I say this but I bet I can find a line or two around dungeon 1/2 for Ryu showing he’s more than just about victims.....which is weird....this isn’t handled with the delicacy it should if they wanted to go with that narrative....but it’s not all Dungeon 5′s fault tbh.
But that does lead to the contradiction (or I should say it’s weird/doesn’t make sense thing)...... We don’t want to go after Oku cause it seems fishy, and Ryu isn’t happy about it cause he wants to but yields, then Mona gets mad at Ryu (probably from being called useless, you know, cause Ryu’s been firing actual shots lately unlike Mona but the eng audience doesn’t realize it cause bad translation). But still he gets mad at the ONE PERSON who also wants to go after Oku???? That’s so counter productive??? And iirc then the game goes from the group being “we need to not go after Oku cause it seems sketch despite knowing what we know” to “of course we’re going after him! and *gasp* I can’t believe he’s done this! Even tho we’ve known about it we’ll be surprised! Also we’re ALL now responsible for having popularity go to our heads u_u” despite the fact we’re kinda only going after him cause of Haru’s plight (which is also where PQ2′s bold face lie comes in).
Frankly I think Ryu and Mona should’ve been volatile to each other from the get go (just a mutual hate, iirc maybe similar to Mark and Nanjo from P1). Just complete animosity, and both being at fault by the time dungeon 5 happens. With both apologizing at the end. OR, make the Oku dungeon a place where the whole team is split (kinda like the Namatame TV scene in P4). Like I said good potential, just bad execution.
Oku’s dungeon’s writing isn’t good by any stretch of the means. But a lot of stuff is either translation issues, or shitty seeds that were laid a lot prior t o this dungeon (and thus not really it’s fault it came about, its job is to resolve/capitalize on those seeds now). Kane’s? Literally trying to uproot and lie about an arc, not even laying seeds like Ryu, just straight up lying. Characters won’t act exactly like they used to. Oku’s Mona takes up a lot of Haru’s screen time, but in Kane’s the game literally bends to Mako’s will to get her into our team.
Oku’s plot, while fumbled is plausible: Two chars who fight the entire game finally blow up, one runs off and ends up dragging in and recruiting another char who ironically is connected to our target....and is dragged in because Mona was near said target....cause she’s his dad....As opposed to Kane where: An adult thinks it’s a good idea to ask a normal student to look into something that cops usually look into (TWICE) even tho all he needs is a list which he should be able to provide due to having a bunch of names dropped the day of the confession and thus not actually NEED her or the events to even take place. Or the fact that the game seems to think Mako’s situation is any way plausible to ever happen and thus be taken seriously, along with all the character/story consistency being thrown out the window.
Like I like Ryu and hate Mona, but....Ryu has some flaws tbh.....beyond just harassing Anne, he’s not perfect and that’s ok (tho how they handle any and all of it is not ok). Some seem counter intuitive to his apparent good boi nature. He’s kinda like Makoto with writing inconsistencies, but he’s limited to like....two diff modes while Mako is whatever the writers feel like atm consistency be damned.
Also here’s the thing with Car Mona part.......either the writers forgot (wouldn’t be surprised)......or....they’re ignoring what they did. Mona literally states he needs someone to drive him when he first transforms:
Perv pyramid scene doesn’t really show Makoto driving-driving (she could just be gassing it while leaning, but like.....how much do we have to turn this wheel-whatever that’s not the issue here). Only time he is driving without input is when the team gets dragged into PQ2 (which makes sense), or with the Showtime (btw I hate these and that damn star), but the star “making the impossible possible” makes that make sense..... But this.....shows it means Haru must’ve tried to run us over. Now grant it she’s on Mona’s side, but it really begs the question....was it her idea or was it Mona’s? Or can Haru just not drive? I can def see Mona telling Haru to floor it tho, and her being like “Sure thing Sensei!”
Oku’s arc, while badly written (and stuff setting it up was also badly written), makes some logical sense (execution was flubbed, but I can see it working at least with someone more competent). Kane’s doesn’t make any sense on any level...and is badly written. It’s just, whatever Oku’s does (writing wise), Kane’s does worse and goes farther in making sure it’s worse. It’s like comparing two rotten apples. Oku’s is half rotten (not completely rotten, there’s still some non corrupt parts to that apple, but still rotten), and Kane’s is completely rotten (a mushy mess, nothing redeeming, rotten to the core). Both are bad, both are rotten, but one’s more far gone.
