Duke and Victorie have been together for five years now. And every December fifteenth, they’d attend the public Christmas party at the clubhouse. It wasn’t something they’d always plan on doing on that specific day, it just so happens that they were both free.

Until one day, when Duke tells her, “I can’t go to the party this year.”

Victorie tried her best not to show her disappointment. “Oh. Well, that’s okay. It’s not like we’re obliged to go.”

Their hands were intertwined as they walked along the busy street. He tightened his grip and sighed. “I’m sorry, Vic.”

“No, don’t worry about it,” she assured. “It’s just a party. Whatever your doing on that day is your priority. It’s a priority. There’s always some other time.”

Duke sighed. “It’s Trish’s dad.” The name of his ex-girlfriend made Victorie feel very uncomfortable. “He wants me to come see him in the hospital.”

Victorie stayed quietly for awhile, and then, “Do you know why?”

“When I was with Trish, he and I were quite close. He’s sick and he wants me to go see him.”

“Why on that date?”

Duke frowned. “Trish set it.”

“Oh.” Victorie bit her bottom lip. “Oh, I see.”

“I told her I was going to br busy on that day. But she played the guilt card on me. I’m sorry, Vic. I couldn’t say no.”

Victorie hummed. “That’s fine.”

He sighed. “Victorie—.”

“I’m cold,” she announced. “I want to go home.”

Duke cast his eyes down at her. “Okay, let’s go.”

“No,” she said. “I can bring myself home.”

“Victorie—,” he tried to reason but she had already unlaced her hand from his and walked away. He didn’t have the heart to follow her, not knowing that she was expecting him to.

Days later, Duke had been trying to call her every now and then. He had missed her. He would go to her apartment only to be shunned away by Victorie herself.

“Vic, come on,” he said on the phone. “Let’s talk about this. Look, I’m sorry I can’t go. If I could tell Trish’s dad that I don’t wanna go then I would. I can’t do that to a sick old man.”

“I said, it’s fine.”

“Then why won’t you answer my calls or let me inside your room.”

Victorie didn’t answer. “Doesn’t matter,” she finally said. “I’m still going to the party though.”

“I’ll make sure I leave as soon as I can. Could I meet you there?”

“Don’t bother,” she said, her voice hard. And she disconnected the call.

On the fifteenth of December, Victorie found herself having a good time mingling with other people. She missed Duke and wished he was here but she can’t help but admit that making new acquaintances was pretty fun.

She had been dancing with a guy named Brad on the dancefloor when she felt someone watching her. Not wanting to ruin the fun with some creeper, she continued dancing. Song after song she went until she finally told her dancing partner that she was thirsty.

“Let’s go get a drink then,” he said. He grabbed her hand and they made their way to the table. Victorie did not like what was happening and tried to wriggle herself away from him.

When she realizes she was never going to get free, a hand held onto her wrist and the other on Brad’s. With just one gesture, Vic’s hand was free.

Brad must have noticed as he spun around and glared at the newcomer. “What the hell, man?”

“My girlfriend never said she was single, nor was she available.”

Brad sputtered. “You led me on!”

“I did not!” Victorie defended. “You asked me to dance with you. I never said I was interested.”

“Just walk away, man. This doesn’t have to lead to a boxing match.”

Brad looked at Duke from head to toe and scoffed. “Not worth it.”

Victorie watched him walk away then looked at Duke. “What are you doing here?”

“What were you doing dancing with him?”

She didn’t reply.

“Come on.” His hand was still on her wrist and he led them out of the crowd. When they got to the front gate, he explained, “He was already in critical condition by the time I got there. Trish told me it was too late. I said my piece and left.”

“That’s it?”

“She told me that she and Caleb broke up.”

“So that’s it.” Victore nodded. “What did you say?”

“Condolences.”

Victorie couldn’t help but giggle. Duke chuckled and laced his fingers with hers.

“I’m sorry,” she said. “I almost got us into trouble.

He shrugged. “I’m sorry I prioritized Trish over you.”

“Well, it was for her dying father.”

“He’s been comatose for two months.”

“Oh.”

Duke sighed brought her hand up to kiss it. “There’s a bazaar somewhere. I saw it when I was coming by here. Thought you might want to see what they have. It’s beside the newly opened café.”

“Sounds nice.”

When they reached the place, Victorie pointed out everything she liked. Duke joked to not let her shopaholic side come out. But somewhere along the way, she found a necklace with an angel holding up a pink gem.

“I want that,” she stated.

Duke sensed her determination. “We’ll get one of that.” He took out his wallet and handed the seller the money.

Victorie was tired of asking Duke to let her pay for her own stuff once in awhile.

“You two are lucky,” the seller said. “It’s the last piece.” She handed Duke the necklace and smiled at them. “Merry Christmas.”

“Merry Christmas,” the two chorused.

Duke led Victorie to the side and held up the necklace. “May I?”

She nodded and turned around. Duke unhooked the chain then hung it around Victorie’s neck before clasping it together. He hugged her from behind and inhaled her scent. “Dammit, I love you so much.”

“You make it sound like it’s a bad thing,” she commented.

“Well, maybe to some because I admit to loving you more than life itself.”

“Oh please.” But he could tell she was smiling.

He let go and twirled her around. “I love you.”

She tiptoed to kiss him. “I love you, too,” she murmured.

They stayed there until they gasped for air.

She melted into his arms and he tucked her under his chin.

“Come on,” he said. “Let’s finish this place and have a hot drink.”

She nodded and grabbed his hand. “Let’s.”

Hey I noticed that you’re a Romanogers shipper too and I’ve just been wondering how the rest of the ship has been feeling since Chris and Scarlett did that interview and spoke about how “romance hasn’t ever been in the air” for their characters? This broke my heart and seeing as how they already filmed Avengers 3 and 4 and Cap’s last film is 4, I’m guessing that means our ship will never become romantically canon 😫

Thank you so much for the ask! It means a lot and I can understand you wanting more opinions from our fan-base as I did when I first saw the interview.

A while ago I drafted a post on how I felt about the interview, the stage we are at in the mcu, why I still have hope - besides the interview - and why I was upset about our ship being written off/shot down romantically just because we are a bunch of nice, quite, respectful fans and I am gonna start it below. I hope it answers part of what you are looking for!

Okay, so I’m tagging this as romanogers because it is directed to my family and our ship, but it mentions other ships. This isn’t hating as I actually like a lot of other Steve/Nat ships but it is just my personal opinion on where the mcu is - and should be - going with all the relationships in IW and why I would be okay with our ship being shot down (not completely but us being brought down a peg in the Scarlett/Chris’ interview) but I’m just not and I want to explain why.

I am distorting the other ship names, because all though I respect every ship (except br*tasha sorry, I’m not hating, I just can’t but I respect the shippers cause you gotta be ballsy) and like a lot of them, I know if I was a diehard shipper, I wouldn’t want someone else explaining why they don’t think the ships are right for this stage of the story (like we have incorrectly been told), because after all - it is just my opinion and everyone is always free to theirs on my page.

Okay so, I love Chris & Scarlett, and I don’t blame them for the questions they get asked that they aren’t prepared for. But, shooting down a ship, even to friendship, even if they don’t mean to, seems pretty off and out of the left field. And by this, I mean they didn’t have to give a literal description of where we find them.

I appreciate the honesty, but how do we know it’s honesty as they are in the dark a lot about the whole plot and this was filmed months ago and they could have only had an idea of whether they would have any romantic scenes which doesn’t mean they aren’t or haven’t been romantically involved just that there isn’t any time for big scenes like that in the movie and Chris & Scarlett seemed pretty thrown off and unsure of an answer - which does lift my hopes a tad - plus they could’ve given us open ended answer or a hopeful answer that says there is development and a bond fans will be pleased with/or with not - but they didn’t which means there is an air of secrecy there.

Anyhow, I can BET my life that if St*ny, St*cky, or B*ckyNat got shot down (romantically) in one interview - this would be a whole separate conversation with people who I know to be more verbal and expressive. I know they weren’t saying NEVER, I know they weren’t saying anything bad but it does inspire feelings considering all we have been given/shown of these two characters pointed to ‘canon’.

I don’t feel hateful or resentful but I feel we have the right to feel annoyed and disappointed because that would never happen to those ships. St*ny & St*cky are both lgbtq ships and B*ckyNat is someone else’s canon (though so is romanogers but I think people forget about their son James), so they are protected against cast members saying anything as they would be majorly hated on by fans. But we are supposed to roll over, stop shipping (I know Chris wouldn’t want that) and be happy with what we are given - even if we can’t know yet?

Giving us all the romanogers content, the teasing, the promotions just to have one interview diminish thousands of shippers hearts like that *Gamora’s hand clicks dramatically* ?? It seems unfair to any shipper, let alone ones who have been sent backwards through a 180 degree wash like we have.

We know Steve and Natasha have the potential to be more as the last movie focused heavily on how conflicted Nat was over choosing sides. We were given flirting (also when Bruce was right there in the room, but everyone shrugs that off, lmao) and teasing and devotion and care and trust - just like many other ‘less likely of becoming canon’ ships in IW that I don’t believe could become canon, not because I hate them but because I know chances have already come and gone - like 6 years whilst romanogers has constantly shifted and developed and flowered quite beautifully within those years.

People say Clint & Natasha are the purest brotp (whilst I know there’s a few diehard ‘otp shippers’ I usually see that the shippers still ship because they are St*cky fans) yet they say romanogers - something we have seen grow onscreen - is the same and has the same development. And I don’t get it. The only similar thing about Clint*sha and Romanogers is that they both got baited the hell out of promotion-wise with no intention (it seems) of a follow up. I do love the “I owe him a debt/I owe you” parallels but I always saw that as more of a mirroring and an understanding into who Nat is and why she was so adamant in saving Clint because her and Steve were only at Step 2/6 of their development when this was paralleled.

The reason i can’t ship B*ckyNat or Clint*sha is because friendships are more important for going through and helping Nat through the shit they did (both in comics and canon) and romance doesn’t seem right to me just because they “saved” or were the only people to be decent at a certain stage of her life, hence why I ship her and Steve because they are both at a crossroads of sort but not the life altering ‘I need emotional support that is platonic’ kind of way that I feel Nat was at in those more challenging stages of her life.

Anyhow, I am trying to understand the meaning of their (Chris & Scarlett’s) words, why they said what they said, how it hurt me, the pieces of logical hope I have in my brain and only conclusion I can come to with their conflicting comments along with all the romanogers promotion, but lack of a follow through with vague interviews (though we know they have been pressed to each-others sides for three years), is that The Russo Brothers/Feige are trying to make a stand and show that they want to end Br*tasha and have Steve/Nat as close as possible to give us quality content and a possibly open end that Wheldon nearly annihilated - I guess this is all we could hope for after all.

I want to conclude, I’m not mad at Scarlett & Chris, I never could be. But I am trying to make sense of it all and these were my thoughts and feelings. I was deeply upset, but I managed to see reason and logic behind what they were saying, what I know and what we have been told of Br*tasha coming to an end - which is a positive along with what we know:

Natasha has moved past and buried those ‘feelings’ for Bruce as he had been gone a year in CACW - So I can understand the lingering smiles on his name in CW (which seems to me as some sort of closure, not the gaping wound that Mark is trying to stress it is) - but IW will be four years after the mess that was their relationship and I believe in Natasha and the producers/directors/Scarlett to do right by her character and have had development and growth past that unholy stage in her life.

½ of Br*tasha’s scenes in the trailer were two scenes of them in the same location cut together for all we know, and the other was yes, them standing close but looking to the sky and looking to be working with my boy Rhodey on an important machine - if that’s the only scenes of them and extent of their interaction besides their imminent end, how is that a strong contender/threat?

Chris is in 100% support of Romanogers and is always happy to talk about how strong their bond is so we have that.

And here are some points from this amazing and hopeful post by @kryptoniancape (sorry for the tag, gotta give credit where it’s due, please do tell me if you want me to take away your points) on the whole situation:

This may straight up be an attempt to mislead us.

The interviewer asked a million dollar question and we know the way Marvel is with spoilers. There was really no way they could honestly answer this unless Marvel wanted people to know going in, something was happening.

Imo, both Chris and Scarlett struggled a little bit to answer and seemed thrown off by the question, but this depends on your perception.

They were careful not to use any finite terms.

Scarlett uses the same answer and reasoning every time someone asks about Nat being romantically involved.

This interview was filmed months ago during filming, Chris and Scarlett may not have yet been exposed to the script for avengers 4, not to mention changes could have even been made to IW or Avengers 4 since then.

And of course, Kevin Feige stating that all hints and teases from previous films will be paid off in Infinity War so if they don’t he’s a fucking liar.

I have also said before, that we could have words as a statement to them being together/something more. We could have Bruce looking between them jealously (as Nat has done with Sharon a few times, and Steve has done with both Clint & Bruce and it would add to the list of parallels we have in our ship) and making a comment of closure (which is what has been confirmed for Br*tasha, but no romance) and she could say something like “He has always been there at some of the most important and life-changing stages, he has always been there. When Clint went home to his family, when Tony & you left, when Shield fell and the rug that kept me up since the red room was removed - it was him and I. Even in Sokovia after all those crazy and irrational ‘that’s not me’ plans of running away with you from the fight, the team and the world, he was there and that reminded me this life of the fight is me but I as long have friends and a team and a purpose and a way to survive, as long as I have him and my purpose, it is something I could happily die doing,” cause that, in my opinion, sums up their relationship and their development.

There could be words, there could be hints, there could be an open ending, jealousy. But overall, in the end, I have decided it doesn’t matter (though I am bummed) we know that they have always been and will continue to be each-other’s rock and emotional support. “They care about each-other more than any of the other avengers,” & “Natasha sees versions of herself in Steve but wants better for him than what she got,” & “When all of the other avengers go home, their home is each-other” which is a similar quote of a smaller point to larger quote of this: (I have had it saved on my laptop forever and can’t remember who said it or the source but it is someone’s official quote on the pair)

Answer: Nothing really to ponder on, it’s pretty straightforward. Surrogate means replacement. Steve and Natasha are evolving into that, which makes sense because they’ve got no one else to turn to. They’ve got no loved ones, no family, nothing. All they have is pretty much each-other when there are no missions to battle, their home is each other. This is how they get close and protective of each other. The Russos are quite clever and really know how to execute their relationship. It started off as work-wife, work-husband but it’s getting deeper and naturally it’ll be more and more intimate in TA:IW. They’ve got that slow-burn love, I feel (is then an added opinion, prediction).

My interpretation of that quote is that whilst Steve has the other avengers, it is stated Natasha is his constant and his partner. Whilst Steve has Bucky, he didn’t have the knowledge of him being alive until a few years of having to learn to survive in the new world (part of which was with Nat, after New York as we see him quite lost at the beginning of The Avengers but in CATWS they are partnered together and have worked pretty well together as a “well oiled machine” - despite Fury’s lies building mistrust but eventually helped them open up and see each other more clearly), whilst Nat has Clint, he has his family - that she is part of occasionally but not on the ‘we live together and always have each-other’s backs’ since he retired sort of way - that he goes home to, but Steve and Nat are fighters and they struggle with finding someone with “shared life experience” and say they can’t have a family but fighting is who they are and is their purpose when they are both right there but the timings weren’t right then I feel, now is,in my opinion.

Furthermore, Steve and Nat have been underground for three years. We are led to believe Sam has been too (My Poor Smol Birdy Third Wheel Son). But nothing happened? That is too difficult to believe - it’s harder to believe nothing actually happened as the Russos wanted and debated with making Nat his love interest in CATWS but decided against it cause they thought it would cheapen both characters and have her be ‘just a love interest’ (y’mean like she was for Bruce in AOU). But this could be their slow burn. Developing building trust, respect, synchronisation, friendship, unconditional love, romantic love slowly, subtly over all these movies together? That’d be epic - especially if they did it in a very low-key way.

From my perspective, Chris & Scarlett were thrown with the question because they probably got told the romance question wouldn’t be in the air as “there isn’t time for romance, we got a war to fight” but that doesn’t mean there couldn’t be more hints, tension or most indefinably the bond we have all loved can only be stronger with three years being together - intimately - close underground.

So there are my jumbled feelings! I wouldn’t lose hope. In my mind they are canon, if they are in yours too, nobody can take that away from you.

I’m a Larry shipper, right? Why am i disappointed at the fandom, after coming back to it... +What even is Larry? + How can we save the ship

I was going through tumblr and came across some posts by anti’s

First of all I want to clarify that I DONT hate Eleanor, I actually used to stan her a bit. I had these blogs about her and made a page saying We ship happiness or something with Elounor as avatar. I follow her on all my social media. Even if people say she’s untalented. She graduated Uni plus has a good sense of fashion so eh let’s forget that “beard” stuff. Let me live!

So why do we ship Larry. You have multiple types:

The O.G’s: They have been here since the first 2 years, anywhere between x factor days and 2012. They saw how close H+L were and started shipping them, probably from videos like this:

Be it platonically or romantically, they just thought they were cute together and loved seeing them interact and mess around. Right now they have either moved on from it all or are still here, using past moments as ‘proof’ or just still love their relationship, be it platonically or romantically. A lot use old blog posts and videos as a way to convince the newer generation that Larry was and is something, they promote their friendship mainly . Again, not all of them make up theories and see every moment as proof.

It is also quite obvious that since a lot of em are a bit older, that they ship Larry without being too annoying. That doesn’t count for everyone however...

New Gen. 2013-2015: These shippers either found out about 1D a bit later or just found out about Larry. They have watched countless proof videos and are convinced that H+L are together. By doing so much research they’ve learned a lot about Larry. They probably use the dug up moments and posts from the OG’s as a way to convince others that Larry is real or at least tell them about the ship.

1) So you have the shippers who DEFINITELY ship it and are 99.9% convinced it’s real and even when they start to doubt it they watch a lot of videos to re-convince themselves it’s real. They are often found analysing everything H+L do.

1.5) Some even go so far as to hate on the GF’s, and sometimes they don’t even realise they are doing it. Traits: Call the GF’s names, try ‘their best’ to not disclose who they are talking about but do a terrible job at it (E.G “E is such a bitch, I don’t like her, neither do I like Br, ew!”), hate on the GF’s without reason (E.G. They see a picture of said GF and rant about how terrible they are, without good motives.), automatically dislike any woman who get’s associated with H or L, especially when the media reports they are rumoured to be dating. Even if it’s just an interviewer, a family member/friend, or a celebrity that H/L admire/look up to/respect/befriended. Ahem.

Apparently that is what people call, ‘a Larrie’.

2) You also have the shippers who mainly love their friendship. They’re okay with whatever as long as the two are happy and have a healthy friendship. They want them to interact more but don’t want to force the shipping thing. They don’t really research and dig a lot. They just admire and support from a distance.

They’re usually new to it, and chose not to fall into the rabbit-hole of Larry, maybe a friend introduced them to it, or just have other OTP’s and don’t really want to pay too much attention to Larry.

3) You have the people who are right in between. They would LOVE it if the two were together but aren’t mad at the fact they might just simply be friends. They like the concept of them dating, they might love Larry videos, make or love fanart, read or write fanfics. That in my opinion is the true definition of shipping, just loving the concept and idea of two people being together, having the opinion that they fit together. Nothing else! They want to think it’s real, but don’t force it. They always rethink what is proof and what is not. Always try to find a logical answer and are not afraid to deny said ‘proof’ but also on the other hand, try their best to convince others that there was something going on between them and possibly still is. E.G. they tell people stories about the past, show them footage, but do not want to force the people to believe it’s real. They don’t try to indoctrinate them. They just want to share the ship...

Aka the said friend of version 2.

It’s probably quite obvious i am that one^

So let’s see. People started shipping it cause they were always so close. And the others knew, they saw. They lowkey shipped it. The looks they gave the two, the “You two are so cute!” ~Niall, when Harry said his valentine was Louis. the ‘You two are together, aren’t you?” by Liam, the “When was the last time you kissed a girl?” ~int “When was the last time you liked it?” ~ Liam. Niall’s looks and smirks at the two. The boys teased them about it a lot and it was all fun!

There were even people who asked them if they were dating, and when Louis was going to propose to Harry. And did they mind? No! Because even if half of the people who shipped them were kind of convinced they were going out, the two still played along, made jokes about it and fed the shippers. They loved to see the shippers reaction, they chose to queer 1D, despite the rumours and jealous guys trying to hate on 1D, calling them stupid names.

Korean boybands can do this... why can’t Larry? And you know that Kpop management companies are a lot like Modest... Even worse sometimes, you know that South Korea isn’t nearly as open to the LGBT as the west. YET THEY GET AWAY WITH IT!!!

People wrote fanfics, made fanart, made compilation videos(Larry moments), it was okay!

But then stuff started changing. Even when Louis said he had a GF, the two were seen acting in a way that made it seem he did not have a GF at all, similar to how they were right when Louis’ relationship with Hannah ended. Sometimes even worse. People loved it! JOKING that GF was hired! But there were people who took it TOO FAR! They hated on the girl, sent her hate, tried to sabotage their relationship. Louis didn’t like it.

Now to back paddle a bit. Yes it was quite obvious Harry did like Louis to an extent. And Louis didn’t mind. He was there for the boy. Cared for him like his little brother, as a best friend. People thought Louis was gay cause he was quite flamboyant, well what do you get after growing up with so many sisters? Plus, have you seen him when he was a teen? I used to follow him on Bebo. He had girlfriends, and they were real. Now, not saying they’re 100% straight either, chill down, people.

I guess through the years, Louis actually started to like Harry too. Maybe? No? Okay! but there was definitely some man love going on, as H+L friend would say. More fuel for the shippers.

To that point it was okay. But to resume what I started to say about the GF. People turned into pricks! Even IF the GF was hired, which i don’t want to comment on, sending hate to her went too far. We don’t need that kind of negativity in our fandom. It broke us apart! It made us all less close...

Fast forward a bit and we are in the “She’s my girlfriend, People genuinely think me and Harry are together!” era! The two started getting less close. Presumably because they caught on. Louis found out about the hate, obviously. He thought that minimising the touchiness with Harry would make things less complicated. But it made it worse cause people found out. By now you have two sides. The side which realised what they were doing and is even more convinced that GF is fake, cause ahaha why would he do that to his poor Hazza if Modest! didn’t tell him to? And the side who started to believe in Louis+GF more. By now you know I’m talking about Eleanor but yeah.

So you can either believe Modest was there from the start and hired Eleanor, (who had a friend who worked at Modest) Because Modest didn’t like the idea of two guys being in a relationship going public, having her be the muse, the lover, the topic of the songs, or that Modest started interfering when they found out about the rumours getting worse.

The latter can mean that Larry was nothing more than a Bromance (or a one sided love cause Harry liked Louis, it was mutual but they stayed friends for the benefit of... being friends. You almost can’t deny that and if you do then i guess it was just a theory) and when the rumours went overboard, Modest took action and told them to stop being so touchy feely.

Harry for example, only get’s rumoured to be dating someone,he get’s papped hanging around a girl and the second it gets out, new articles start to sprout out of nowhere, and whenever things do get “confirmed” they never end well or last as long as Elounor did.They are mostly high profile people. He’s been getting labeled as a womaniser since pretty much the start of their career. That somewhat correlated with Larry since the womaniser image got people to not believe in the HxL rumours too seriously.

I made a rant about that in 2012 but it was super messy so i’m not going to go into that.

Either way, them being less close made people even more suspicious and to this day, even after them awkwardly denying rumours, even after Zayn saying it is not real. People believe they are together. Why? cause proof videos. I believe that if you are a true anti, you should at least dare to watch the 30 most iconic Larry moments, and if after all that you still stand by your opinion, then respect to you.

There were far too many suspicious moments. Even if half of what they were trying to do was a joke. You can not deny that they really loved each other. And something ruined it.

The thing about their management company glaring at them or giving signs of approval whenever they do something wrong, or the thing about them giving signals not to answer a question is not made up. There is actual footage of them looking behind the camera and the interviewer saying they have to either stop an interview or saying they are not allowed to ask that.

So why would the management company do such a thing when it is so obvious that the fans really like shipping the two boys?

The reason is because, even if the fans have no problem with it, others do. Outsiders do. A lot of celebrities don’t get permitted to come out. They have to act a certain way and get introduced to girls they have to date for a month or two, sometimes even years. With every generation you have a group of people who completely despise the concept of gay relationships.

Now there are some groups and artists who’ve come out and are doing perfectly fine. But if you have as big as an audience as One Direction, things become more problematic. It is not only the fact that hundreds of girls who feel they have a chance with the boys or are raised not to approve of anything that has to do with the LGBTQ+ (so they grew up with homophobic parents) pretty much get a slap to the face. It’s that they will get so much attention that all the homophobic people in the world, potentially people who can influence a big group of people, will possibly start to hate on them, all these kids who are unfortunate enough to have closed minded parents will not be allowed to listen to the boys anymore. Their entire image will have a massive switch.

Now that they are solo, they have far more time to focus on themselves. Time to reshape and tweak their public image, time and space to show the world who they really are. They are breaking free from the bubble gum pop bubble. They are free to do whatever they want

When they first got put together, people started to say stuff like “One Direction is gay” Using ‘gay’ as an insult just to seem cool cause people thought that liking One Direction was shameful. Especially because of the often obnoxious fans. People simply did not want to be associated with them. But One Direction grew!

I don’t see them coming out any time soon. At this point i am not even sure if they are still together. Especially with the recent events regarding Louis.

I want to say that when Louis and Eleanor first started dating, it was quite awkward, but their relationship started looking realer as time passed by. This time, it just does not at all. Not judging her, i love her. It’s just strange. She got back with someone who “cheated” on her and has a kid with someone else, you’d expect her to ask her boyfriend to do a paternity test. But that is their thing. They can do whatever they want.

Also regarding recent events. Harry seems to be so much more free. He’s swinging and waving around LGBT flags and is being more flamboyant than ever.

Flashback to a couple of years ago when the boy said he liked girls, didn’t like nail polish or make up, and talked about girls. The boys kept mentioning he’s changed. They of all people would understand what exactly changed.

I believe that we should all just chill and stop the negativity, I didn’t want to believe the misogyny until someone pointed it out to me, don’t get me wrong, i did see it before, but when I came back to this fandom I didn’t think it would be so much worse.

Theories get annoying unless there is proof, in my opinion you can do whatever you like with them, as long as you are aware that your theory might be false/debunkable!

You can ship it as much as you want but DON’T send hate to the GF’s, like, if you ship Larry, why waste time on them in the first place?

Maybe if we all stop commenting Larry on everything we see, maybe then they will come back as close as they were before. Cause it was quite prominent that Harry was saddened by it. They have good and bad memories from the ship.

Just please guys, Larry is fun and i love it, but what I don’t like is all these “shippers” who point at Larry and management, everytime something happens between the two.

But I also don’t like people who attack the shippers, without listening to them first, stand in each others shoes, try to understand each other and why the other person thinks a certain way, step out of your own shoes for once ahaha. We’ll get to understand each other more that way. WE ALL HAVE TO HAVE AN OPEN MIND!!!

Can we make a plan? Start shipping Larry the way we did in 2011. Just secretly. Let’s not go overboard and theorise everything. Even if it is just for a couple of months. Let’s focus on the friendship! Make them believe we have moved on and know it’s just friendship. I really want to focus on that the next couple of years.

me thoughts on the whole “six years later”

honestly idk. i just feel the need to clarify my feelings on the (possible) situation with b//ell/arke, b//ec/ho, and b//ra/ven.

rambling and speculation under the cut

first off, i am as big of ho for b/ell//arke as any out there, let this be known. do i think it has a large chance of happening in show? absolutely. beyond my own otp emotions hoping that it will, evidence and practicality suggest it will end up canon/endgame. it’s just a matter of when.

i do not ship b//e/cho. echo has treated bellamy awfully the majority of the time they have known each other, and bellamy actively distrusts her and probably holds some underlying hatred towards her for what she did to octavia. it’s not a great ship as it was left for now in show.

as for b//rav//en, i have no particularly emotion towards it. i think it could be cute, but considering how much of a diehard bellarke shipper i am, im not exactly singing praises to gods to make br/ave/n canon. however, they have the strongest basis for becoming canon after be/ll/ark/e, i find.

further elaboration, now with consideration to the timeskip and events of the season four finale.

clarke doesn’t know if bellamy is alive, though she knows there is a chance, no matter how small, that he has, and she clings to this. bellamy, on the other hand, believes that clarke is entirely dead, given what we know (i doubt he ever received any of clarke’s radio messages, because if he had, then he would have been on the ground as immediately as possible given resources and time passed). he does not have that same sliver of possibility like clarke does, and therefore probably spent a good deal time (potentially literal years) absolutely despaired over the situation and how he “failed” clarke. bellamy feels shit deep, too. he would likely -not- allow himself to get over it for a long time, beyond not being able to to begin with. so, bellamy spends a lot of time upset and grieving up in space, and in marches potential b/ech/o and br/ave/n.

my thoughts for be/cho involve it beginning as a “vent” for bellamy. he’s frustrated emotionally, both by clarke and his role and the difficulty of living in space, and physically, too, probs - he’s prob restless after spending so long running around like a gazelle in the forests on earth and now he’s trapped on the goddamn ark again, and it’s stifling. and honestly, the dude’s gonna be sexually frustrated, too, lbr. he’s gonna need an outlet, and i think echo could be that. i’m not gonna rule out echo here, she’s her own character, too - she has a great potential to become a “good guy” and redeem herself to bellamy and the others, and the audience, too. i don’t like her much right now, but i’m interested to see where her character might go, especially now that her actress is a series regular.

echo is in a somewhat similar situation to bellamy, though her distress is more pronounced in certain areas. she inevitably probably has ghosts floating about regarding people she “left” on the ground/never got a proper goodbye with, chiefly roan, i think, whom she didn’t really have time to sort out her feelings for (not necessarily romantic, i’m not implying that, but she obviously cared for roan, she was loyal to him both officially and probably personally). beyond this, she proves to be understandably frightened about going to space, looking quite terrified when in the shuttle and raven starts floating in zero g. having been born, raised, and lived on earth all her life, this situation is incredibly stressful, even more so given how long they will be up there is very uncertain, being anywhere from five years to much longer. like bellamy, she’ll have adjustment issues, but even worse than him given that earth and the freedom that came with it is all she’s ever known, and now she’s been confined indefinitely to this stuffy, foreign space station for an indefinite amount of time. for her, it is entirely strange. at least for the others (beyond emori), they are returning to a familiar place, even if it holds negative connotations for some more than others - overall, it was once “home” for bellamy, murphy, harper, and monty for all of their lives up until two (?) or so years ago (i’m assuming it’s been roughly two years since they were ejected to the ground). echo has no attachment or idea of this place. she’s anxious and terrified, things i cannot fault her for considering the situation.

so, here we are: bellamy and echo are both restless and frustrated. they don’t have the greatest relationship, but they’re going to have to learn to get along, in the very least, considering the need to cooperate for their situation and because it’s not going to help if things worsen. overall, the both need an outlet, because it’s equally as non-conducive if they are so worked up they can’t think or operate. so, the opportunity presents itself, given enough time has passed that respective tensions can no longer last and/or that they both have numbed enough to the point where it works out well enough, that they could become each other’s “vents”. i, personally, think this is one of the most viable way that b/ech/o could start. they live in close quarters, constantly interact to some degree, and at first, there’s a suitable enough emotional disconnect between them that it works out well. they’re both young and raring (lmao), and given that two out of the four girls on the station are taken, bellamy’s options are echo or raven (and we’re discussing b/ech/o right now, so raven’s irrevelant for now). emotionally, they may not have much going on, but physically, attraction could be there.

so, yeah, they start banging. why not, they’re both consenting adults - it’s not emotionally the best but it helps ease mounting stress and makes living up in the station a lot more bearable. so, personal assumptions here, say bellamy does his thing grieving over clarke/tiding himself over for two years and echo is off doing her thing, working out excessively to distract herself from thoughts of earth, but at some point it snaps and they’re both there, so they go for it. they fool around whenever they feel like it for a year or so, and it works out fine. i think echo would become more emotionally attached/dependent first, as she comes to improve her relationship with bellamy and begins to trust him more (and vice versa). in the past, she’s expressed the want for bellamy’s approval (think 4x01 - “think you’ll ever trust me again?” “i doubt it.” or something along the lines of that), and she has the most personal history with him, so she’s more willing to rely on him emotionally with all of her stuff going on. bellamy, i think, would still be a lot more detached and it would take more time to allow himself to open up, given he is still probably hung up on clarke (one doesn’t even have to interpret this romantically, but also just in a friendly/partner-sense - i consider it both, because bel/ar/ke is more than just the one or the other) and has other people he trusts more beyond echo, especially raven (and monty), that he can divulge personal issues to more easily and openly. they’ve all known each other longer/been through more/been positively involved for longer, it’s only natural. but it’s not impossible that he might allow some (not all) walls to fall down given enough time (and six years in more than enough for something - or even the beginnings of something - to form) and as he sees echo genuinely open up to him. so, he thinks clarke is dead, and there’s nothing he can do about that, nothing he can do to resolve his feelings for and about her ultimately, and though it was not born of ideal circumstances, he is now involved with another he might be able to legitimately move forward with. he may not move on completely, inevitably will think back to clarke sometimes and fall into a pit again for a bit or longer, may dwell on her memory, but he doesn’t have to stay miserable and cornered off forever. so, maybe, he begins to allow himself to carry on with echo, and things are kind of chill and calm and happy for a bit between them. depending on when and how things happen, by the time they go down to earth again, it’s not preposterous to consider that he and echo may have committed to a legit relationship, and that he’s not as tied down to how he felt about clarke, because she’s “gone”. i love be/l/larke to death, but i also want everybody to be content and happy, understand this, and though i love that Spicy Drama that comes with bellamy not being able to let clarke go entirely, i do think he would eventually attempt to settle himself and find happiness, if not by himself, then by the urging and intervention of the others.

how this plays out is still up in the air, as is all of this. is it inevitable he will be extremely shaken up by finding out clarke is a live and well, and she will most definitely likely take a forefront in all his emotions and actions, leading to echo being sidelined. echo herself will be dealing with the reality of returning to earth, but will also understandably be upset by being potentially ignored by bellamy, especially given if she has become more attached than he. as things settle, he will be faced with the need to choose between clarke and echo, even if it may be a struggle between all three forces in the end - out of my personal opinion (and being a be/lar/ke ho), i think how he feels about clarke will be too much to ignore and will easily overpower his relationship (i think “making up for lost time” will be a big thing with be/lla/rke in season five), or lack thereof, with echo, ultimately leading to the dissolution of b/ec/ho and the beginning of our endgame canon be/l/larke. i think it would be difficult for bellamy to justify staying with echo when clarke has suddenly been reinserted in his life, because no one will quite be on clarke’s level to him - not even raven, who is his next closest relationship. i do not think even six years, some double or three times longer than he has known clarke, would be enough to place someone else on the same pedestal clarke occupies in his heart. i’m not saying someone couldn’t work their way up to a similar position, i def think raven could, but the fact of the matter is that it will not be the same as clarke’s, or comparable just by so many factors. they are both important, but on different levels (i liken it to have two children - they both occupy places of their own in your heart, and to compare them is just not realistic or possible to oneself. they are both important, and just because one “came first” doesn’t diminish the “worth” of the second). clarke is bellamy’s partner in a lot of ways he would never relegate to another, though he may allow another to build themselves up to a similar state with and to him.

NOW, with most of my thoughts about b/ec/ho articulated (i think lmao), i’ll now go on about br/ave/n. first and foremost, bellamy’s next strongest relationship (outside of clarke, octavia, and kane - just people on the station) is with raven. they are good friends, have been for years, trust each other well, support each other, and work together easily and efficiently. they already have a strong relationship and friendship. honestly, i do not think that there is a romantic basis at “this” point in their relationship - i.e., where they are at this point on the station. back in season one, they slept together. raven was upset about finn putting her off and knowing about him and clarke, and bellamy did not have any particular affinity towards raven beyond an inclination to getting laid - if she wanted to have sex with him, that was fine for him, at the time. after this, the moment has never been extensively brought up and clearly both raven and bellamy are past it, having worse things to worry about and being mature enough to realize that it didn’t mean much more than a quick bang with no romantic connotations when neither were at particular peaks in their lives. beyond this, they have grown a solid friendship with ignorance to it.

so, switch to them on the station. once again, bellamy thinks clarke is dead, and so does raven, whom both were very close to. on the station, they are the ones who will feel clarke’s loss the hardest out of the seven of them on board. unlike with echo, bellamy will be much more immediate and open to expressing his feelings to raven because of the previously established closeness there, and likely vice versa. i do still believe that either way, bellamy will understandably take his sweet time grieving clarke regardless of whom he “goes” with or opens up to. raven, too. she will take her own separate time to process clarke’s “death”, but i think she’d be more open with bellamy first over it considering she is a fairly honest character. i feel as though she would talk to him first, because he’d be able to understand the best, and that after some time, he would be comfortable enough venting about clarke back. for sure, they will be the other’s best support system in all they do on the ark.

now, it’s possible that they might “start” the same way b/ech/o would, aka, sexually. it’d be a vent, but with an initial fondness there that would not exist, at first or at all, with bellamy and echo. again, they’re mature adults with a positive, solid basis for what could happen between them. they know how to appropriately separate their sexual relationship from their friendship, and, if they should want to, mix them. but a part of me thinks that their relationship would be much more gradual, as bellamy and raven both find emotional relief in each other by confessing and venting their frustrations in a way that would not force bellamy into a point of total emotional breakdown given a situation where he is unable to express himself in a healthy way like he could have with raven.

so, years go by, and the blow of the loss of clarke for both is softened by their mutual support of each other. their relationship only grows fonder and stronger, a healthy bond long since established. and one day, maybe, when they are alone and comfortable and genuinely happy with each other, a kiss happens. over a bit more time, it happens more, little changes and shifts that display their interest in each other. there’s nothing wrong with this, they’re extremely close, have been for years, and if any characters deserve thorough and total respect and happiness, it’s raven and bellamy (-especially- raven!!!!!). this is where i begin to wobble a bit in my thoughts regarding ships. in a situation like this or similarly, i could really genuinely get behind br/ave/n. it’d be hella cute and entirely warranted and healthy, a rare display on television, though my b/e//l/lark/e heart would scream woe at this revelation. i would not be totally upset if this happened, whereas i’d be more irritable about b/ech/o if done poorly.

so, bellamy and raven have thing going, they express their romantic interest in each other, and enter a real relationship. i think this would also be a relatively healing relationship for both - again, i still think clarke would be on bellamy’s mind, but maybe lesser so with a stronger, consistent relationship with raven going on at the forefront. they may go as far to fall in love with each other and actively express this fact to each other - the reality is, they may legitimately resolve to be together permanently and forever, regardless of everything else (you know, not at the time knowing about clarke about to come back into their lives lmao). problems arise a lot more severely when you factor in clarke again, though, in a way that they cannot with b/ech/o given a lack of history.

okay, so, both learn that clarke is alive and well, and they are excited about being with her again. i do not think that raven would have issues with bellamy being ecstatic to find and be with clarke - she knows they are close, as she is with clarke, and considering how perceptive she is, she is likely the character with the most insight into how bellamy and clarke truly, deeply felt about each other. she knew they cared, and with the romantic aspect considered here (this is a shippy post after all), she knew that bellamy may have potentially loved clarke, and vice versa. she knows that he may still, in a way, and even maybe again immediately with the whole sudden influx of emotions that would come with her being back in their lives. however, she also knows that bellamy loves her, too, and is committed to her, as she is him. she trusts him, and he trusst her - she knows he will not stray and trusts in clarke that she will not overstep her boundaries once clarifications have been made and asserted however way they might. it’s all understandable, there’s a lot going on, but they’re not children, and there is trust there for all.

but this is where things become a little messy, depending on how the situation plays out. possibly, neither bellamy nor clarke are able to separate their feelings from the other, and while this is expressed, i think they have more than enough maturity and respect for each other and raven to -not- act on them. they may insinuate or even outright admit after all that has gone on, for everyone’s sake, but i HIGHLY doubt they would go behind raven’s back, even at their most emotional, because raven simply does NOT deserve that, and if the writers did that, i’d be pissed, even being a fervid be/ll/ark/e shipper. raven deserves so much better, and i hope she will get it in spades. clarke and raven had already been in a similar situation with finn some eight years ago or so, and if my memory serves me correctly, clarke absolutely backed off from raven and finn once she learned what was going on and denied finn despite his repeated advances while he was still with raven. so, from this we know that clarke is unlikely to do anything behind backs, even given how much more strongly she feels for bellamy than she did finn. raven does not need to, once again, go through the paranoia and pain of a lover going behind her back to be with another, especially her closest female friend now at this.

they are all far past the drama of late-teens/early-young adulthood at this point, and are mature enough to not muddy relationships needlessly. bellamy is also not the type to carelessly pursue without appropriate consideration and tact examined situationally. more than this, i like to think that he legitimately loves both clarke and raven in this situation, and would not want to hurt either. he would have a monstrous decision to make, and either way, someone would be spurned, most of all raven should she be broken up with. given how well things are handled, i think if the situation is built up well enough, that it may be realistic for him to choose either one.

but at the same time, i do not think it’s much of an excessive stretch to think that in a sudden burst of emotion upon meeting again or having been together for a while afterwards, that bellamy and clarke may have a moment, one they may both regret and not. raven is not stupid, she would pick up on trying to keep it hidden/push away feelings easily, or bellamy and clarke might be straightforward about what happened in a way that places them all in the same situation as above - a choice needing to be made and someone inevitably coming out hurt in the end. even if all avenues were taken to avoid hurt or anything happening, i think raven may become understandably jealous or unsettled about bellamy and clarke’s closeness as they reacquainted and possibly became... quite friendly and involved.

OR! maybe bellamy would end it with both, wishing to prevent as much damage as possible, and try to take time to sort it all out alone for everyone’s sake. or maybe he won’t get with anyone, though i doubt it will be that easy, honestly. if he does get with raven, i want it done right. i want her respected, and if he ultimately chooses clarke, then i want it to be handled well and realistically in a way that isn’t unnecessarily cruel to her. if he chooses raven overall, then let him commit to her fully and utterly in the way they both deserve, in a way that allows him to get over clarke and clarke to get over him but still be best friends, and for raven to rest easy and be content and happy with him. if he gets with echo, let it be fleshed out well and carried out with some level of mutual respect and fondness between them, instead of simply being shoehorned jealousy drama fodder (same for raven!!!!!). and hey, if he gets with clarke overall, let it be well done! overall, above all, just let any of them be done WELL.

on a separate topic, and my final blabbing, the idea of bellamy having a kid with either raven or echo because “oh clarke ‘has’ a kid now with maddie”... i REALLY don’t like this for multiple reasons. first, it feels like it would be way too melodramatic and unrealistic in a lot of ways - their technical situation up in the station is precarious and difficult enough as it is, without adding a child into the mix - that’s without going into how that would drastically alter the unresolved personal issues of it all (i’ll not go into details about how these relationships would change with a potential child in the mix, because that’s a whole other can of worms that i’m not ready or currently willing to open, considering how seriously it would change the scheme of it all). up on the ark, there is very limited resources for just the seven of them, let alone a baby or two. and the issue of getting back to earth with additional passengers that young (or at all) just complicates it even further. ultimately, i think that, most of all, bellamy and raven would have more than enough sense to prevent a pregnancy and child, even if they get involved (there’s gotta be some condoms left on the ark somewhere... and even if not, raven or echo are more than smart enough to regulate themselves pretty sharply... all of them are, for they all [guys included] realize the severity of it all) - they’d probably be pretty vigilant about not wanting one with all the stress of everything going on around them, at least not on the ark. for harper and monty and emori and murphy, though, i can see maybe having a kid - most of all, emori and murphy. but i feel like it’d be a total accident and it’d be just the once, because they literally -cannot- afford to expend their resources excessively in a way that they would need to to accommodate a child. ultimately, while i COULD in theory understand a child happening, as it’s not entirely out of the scope of reality, i just don’t think it would happen and that it would be a cheap pull made by the writers to give bellamy one.

okay, that’s alllllllllllllll of my two cents on the situation, i think. this is -really- fuckin long (!!!!!!!!!!! over 4000 words!? ...this is also not proofread, lmao...), and i think i might have convinced myself into slightly shipping br/av//en... but either way, here it is. i doubt anyone has read this far, for there’s not really any reason to, but if you have, i commend you, i really do.
