#and that pun (: lmao i will laugh at stupid puns always #also i really was so lost all my google results were just the swedish word for maze and i was there like ? okay? how’s that a thing?#and it wasn’t… also me currently very slowly writing a campaign…maybe this is an idea (my dnd group is me another swede and 4 brits who #already deal with enough of our swedish bullshit so what’s one thing more?)#((the swedish bullshit is largely naming our characters swedish words like there’s a dwarf called tallrik which means plate and his whole #family is named after cutlery but that’s the other swedes doing i mainly pull in old norse stuff and weird folklore + mythology references #WHICH REMINDS ME NOW did you know Hel is someone in norse mythology? she’s the ruler of the underworld/afterlife and Lokis daughter and #one of my favorites and like it’s all so wonderfully emo- her kingdom is where everyone who didn’t die in battle go- they go to valhalla or #folkvangr- and like she has a plate called hunger a knife called famine the entering threshold is called stumbling and a bed called #sick-bed so just so emo buT despite these things it’s not a bad place it’s often described in a neutral or positive way but i do think that #it has a place where ‘bad’ people get punished too but i can’t remember for sure.. but yeah Hel means ‘hidden’ in old norse and a couple of #years ago in iceland the government ruled that parents couldn’t name their child Hel as it might make it hard for them growing up- so some #fun facts about what meaning your name has here and also to tell you that i love it so much and it makes me so happy whenever i see it !!))
