((I tried to pick songs that Iisten to a heck ton and/or are significant to me in some way. Most of them...didn't start with any of the letters in my url. Some letters had more to pick from than others. This isn't completely representative of my taste in music, but I think it'll still tell y'all more about me.))
T-wo Hearts {Phil Collins}
((This is one of the songs that I can listen to without getting sick of it. I love its calm yet upbeat melody. It has such a good start and it keeps the energy throughout the whole song.))
U-ptown Girl {Billy Joel}
((Granted, I didn't have many choices for U, but I used to listen to this one more. Nowadays, I prefer to listen to some of Billy Joel's other songs...but I still revisit this one sometimes (the original and covers).))
E-very Time You Lie {Demi Lovato}
((This is one of the songs I've performed at karaoke at a college event (the other one is Misery by Maroon 5), though I've liked it long before then. It has a coffee house music kinda sound to it? Idk how to really describe it. Her confidence is what sells the song though.))
S-mooth {Santana (ft. Rob Thomas)}
((The guitar and Spanish sound are so appealing—the bridge and the chorus are especially impactful, for different reasons. Something about the lyrics of the bridge just gets me every time.
And if you said this life ain't good enough
I would give my world to lift you up
I could change my life to better suit your mood
Because you're so smooth
The chorus has a lot of energy and it's so...smooth.))
D-on't Turn Around {Ace of Base}
((This is one of the songs I have a hard time describing why I like it. The bridge is nice, lyrically and musically. Plus I'm a sucker for the "pretending I'm okay when I'm not" trope and this song lowkey reminds me of Maddie.))
A–ngel Eyes {ABBA}
((This one is a more recent pick, but it's one of the songs I can't stop listening to atm and I felt like I had to include it. It has everything I love about ABBA's songs and the lyrics are top notch. The jealousy and wistfulness gives the song its own identity, though it still sounds like ABBA (I may or may not have become an ABBA fan because of an OC and a close friend).))
Y-our Smiling Face {James Taylor}
((If Uptown Girl and Arthur's Theme had a love child, this song would be it. It's short, but pleasant and upbeat.))
S-eptember {Earth, Wind, and Fire}
((First—my birthday is in September (though it's a few days before the 21st night) and that always amused me. I also love the energy of the song. It's such an iconic song too. I see it on my dash every September 21st and I don't mind it at all.))
C-areless Whisper {George Michael}
((...just, the saxophone. The wistfulness of his voice. The lyrics. All of it blends together perfectly. It's good in minor key and in major key.))
A-rthur's Theme {Christopher Cross}
((It's soft, but charmingly chipper. It's like if the Cheers theme song was more romantic, if that makes sense?))
N-othing's Gonna Change My Love For You {Glenn Medeiros}
((It's so gentle and sweet...it's the kind of song that would play at a prom in a cheesy movie. That's the best way to describe it. ))
O-range Color Sky {Nat King Cole}
((I first heard this at my high school graduation (two girls had performed it before the ceremony) and I lowkey forgot about it until I came across it again one day. It's whimsical yet classy and I can't help but listen to it again sometimes.))
N-ew Light {John Mayer}
((A close friend of mine showed me this song and now it's one of my favorites. I don't even know how to describe it, but it has a sound I really like and I'm really lucky to have been introduced to it.))
S-he Will Be Loved {Maroon 5}
((I really like Maroon 5's older songs and this song is one of my favorites. I like the piano, the imagery of pouring rain, the idea of cheering someone up...plus, it's nostalgic for me because it's one of the first Maroon 5 songs I've heard. It's got a special place in my heart.))
