The Mukami incident

Otherwise known as: How Mystic met the Mukami

[Location: Unknown]

Mystic: Ugh—!

[I roll out of the overgrown into an open space and quickly crawl back until my back hits what seems to be a fence. The entities that had been chasing after me come to a stop right by the end of the trees and bushes and stand to glare at me. They spin around and leave.]

Mystic: Haa...

?: Oi.

Mystic: . . . !?

[I quickly look up, to find a tall figure hovering over me. I stare at him for at least a second before deciding to try to slip away. I barely manage to dumbly crawl away before he fishes me up by the back of my shirt.]

Let go!

Tall Guy: Heh… what the hell? Whose child is this?

Mystic: (Huh!?)

[I glare. I throw my arm around his neck and swing upwards, using my body weight to bring him down.]

Tall Guy: —!?

Mystic: [When he falls, I squirm out of his grasp and make a run for it.]

(Shit, shit, shit, shit—)

Tall Guy: Where the hell ya think you’re goin’!?

Mystic: Woah!

[In the blink of an eye, I find myself being carried on the guy’s shoulder. My eyes widened and I gasp, grasping onto his back in order to keep myself from falling.]

Wa—

Mystic: [I suddenly hear footsteps approaching. I try to push him down again, but this titan grabs my leg and arm to keep me from wriggling further.]

?: Huh, Yuma? What’s going?

Yuma: This kid appeared outta nowhere. The hell am I supposed to do?

Mystic: [I almost choke when the newcomer moves around Yuma so that he could look at me.]

Kou: Hey, hey—

Mystic: [He pokes my forehead twice.]

Kou: —what are you doing here?

Mystic: I—... this a misunderstanding!

Kou: Hmm... maybe bring him inside. Looks like he’s bleeding.

Mystic: (Bleeding!?)

[I had not realized a stain of blood had formed on my shoulder. I gasp audibly. Perhaps one of the creatures scratched me and I didn’t notice.]

Yuma: Ya’re kiddin’ me, right...?

Kou: No. Let’s go〜★
