“Right?? And the world is so lovely. I think that it is. I truly believe that it is.” Gabriel smiled, a plate slipping from her hand and splashing water up. “Ah- ow- soap...in my eye!” She sighed with a chuckle, feeling around a bit before she dabbed at her eyes with a cloth that hung on the handle of the oven. Gabriel honestly felt quite elated! By a twist of fate of the two of them being in the same place at the same time, they somehow found each other and they seemed to have quite a bit in common! Love of dogs, comfort food, love of family and friends. It felt absolutely lovely!
Gabriel smiled as Ann explained the zombie game. In fact, her eyes were shining in excitement as if she were drinking in every detail to remember for later. She let out a slight snort, covering her mouth in response to it. “Honestly, my older sister would probably physically bite people knowing her. I love her very dearly but she’s....a bit of a wild card. But I’m guessing the ‘zombies’ just tag people, like slime tag sort of! But instead of being separate zombies, you hold onto each other and try to add more people to your ‘mass’. It’s quite exciting no matter which way you put it but now you’ve got me excited to play these!” She said, going back to the sink to keep cleaning. Thankfully, because it was just the two of them, the dishes they had to do were minimal. “Oh shucks, I don’t want to intrude on the party or the park if it’s a family thing. But I would love to meet your family n friends in person! And honestly, I think Camilla n the others would love your group.” She grinned, drying a plate and setting it aside to be put away a little later.
Gabriel kept her smile as Ann showed her the photo on her phone. She squinted a bit, holding up a finger to ask her to give her a moment before she left the kitchen to go to the living room. She came back with a pair of reading glasses and pushed them up onto her nose. “Alrighty let’s see here.” She hummed, moving her eyes as she spoke. “My oh my....that is certainly a uh....hairdo.” She said with soft giggle once she saw Thatch. “I-I mean no disrespect of course! It’s just unexpected, you know?” Gabriel asked before gasping. “Oh my gooosh you were right! Marco does look like pineapple! Would you look at that!” She exclaimed before nodding along again. “A whole play?? Dang your friends seem like Jacks of All Trades.” The woman nodded, squinting again.
“Aww gosh...how sweet are your brothers! You lot seem so close!” Gabriel cooed before she began look back and forth between part of the photo with Ace and Ann. “Spitting image...definitely some differences but I bet if you two wore similar outfits some people would have quite a bit of trouble telling you apart!” She chuckled, setting the last plate aside with a satisfied hum coming from her. “And just like that, teamwork makes the dream work!” Gabriel exclaimed before perking up. “But hold on, speaking of family....” She took off her reading glasses and set them down on the counter, heading into the living room again. She came back once more with a small framed photo. “This is one of the only pictures I have left of my family. Obviously they’d all be older now but this was when I was....gosh, ten I think? Yeah! Ten!” She chuckled. It was a fairly old photo. At the back was an clean shaven man with brown hair, kind brown eyes, and round glasses. “That’s my dad, Benjamin Caper. That beside him is my mom, Bianca!” Gabriel explained, pointing to the shorter woman beside Ben holding two swaddled newborns in her arms. It was hard to tell their hair and eye colour due to the blankets covering their heads and by the fact that both were asleep. Bianca had wild, long, blonde hair and the same green eyes as Gabriel. “She’s holding the youngsters, Wendy and Jordan.” She said before moving her finger to the side to an almost alarmingly tall, muscular woman with long, unruly brown hair like her dad and green eyes. “The oldest, that’s Lilith.” She then pointed down to a scrawny young man with brown hair and brown eyes. “Second oldest is Terry, and last but not least, drum roll please, me! Aww with my old bunny too, Henry.” She chuckled, pointing to a ten year old Gabriel who held a pink stuffed bunny, giving the camera a huge grin. “Ah...those were...good memories.” She sighed, pausing for a moment before wiping at her eyes. “Sorry, Sorry!” She chuckled, setting the photo down as she began to put the dishes away. “It’s easy to get nostalgic with photos like these, y’know? But with that aside, I really should give you my number if we plan on doing all those things we’ve talked about huh? Unless we plan on resurrecting a messenger pigeon and hope for the best!” Gabriel laughed. “Unless you just wanna tell me your number, then in that case, fire when ready. Assuming you....uh...still wanna hang out after this, of course. Which is fine! Just uh....wondering.” She said, tilting her head to one side.
@ask-gabriel-and-company liked this for a starter
Standing on the bridge over the train tracks, Ann looked over the railing, holding onto it. It was late evening, barely any traffic on this old bridge, but occassionally people walked by, passing her without saying anything to her. Not that she expected it, she was just a stranger to them. Even if her eyes showed no emotions, just staring at the tracks.
She didn’t have any plans, didn’t really know what she was doing there, but something had dragged her here. Maybe the beautiful view? To the left of the bridge was a lake, she’d spend a lot of her childhood there. it held many fond memories to her, but she wasn’t really looking at it. To the right there was the city, the light shimmering in the darkness. A strong contrast to the darkness of the lake.
A sigh left her and before she knew it, she had jumped onto the railing and sat down. She’d always liked heights, so she wasn’t afraid. Even if she could easily fall down onto the tracks, if something startled her. Not that she cared, she wasn’t afraid of death either. She knew this was dangerous and probably going to send her to a shrink or such, but right now - in this moment - she didn’t care. All she wanted, was to sit here.
