My Opinion on;

Character in general: Okay, bear with me on this because I may ramble just a lil bit. But when I first played FFVII-OG I was about 13 or 14 years old, and admittedly had a very immature view on how the world works (also this was a LOOOOOONG time ago too). So, long story short here, to me back then, Tseng was a BAD guy. Turks = Bad Board of Directors = Bad Rufus = Bad Shinra in general = ALL BAD That was how I looked at this then and that mindset stayed with me for quite a while no matter how the story progressed and how these characters flourished and developed much larger roles in the story’s grand scheme. Fast forward a few years to this wonderful little PSP game called Crisis Core. Now what Crisis Core did for me as well as fill in some gaps - considering I was a bit older and didn’t have as much of an issue bending my head around new ideals - was force me to look at these characters I originally believed to just be rotten eggs and see them in an entirely new light. 

Tseng was obviously one of those characters. It showed me that this guy wasn’t inherently evil like I originally thought. He is a small - albeit extremely important - cog in a much greater machine which, I believe now, had good intentions during ShinRa’s infancy; to supply copious amounts of seemingly unlimited electric resources to the people and make their lives easier. The corruption begins much higher than Tseng and by the time that’s even realised he is already in too deep to have any sort of control or say over how ShinRa conducts its business. He has a job to do, he’s good at it, and he does it to the best of his ability whether he agrees with it or not.  I can’t say that I particularly liked the guy, in all honesty even while I was playing CC, I was pretty indifferent, but I no longer saw him as a mere shill, but rather a supporting role while Zack was fumbling his way up the SOLDIER ranks. And despite his classification within the company and the secrets he’s forced to keep, Tseng is no bullshitter either, he’ll tell the situation as it is rather than skirt around the issue, so I find that there’s something so fundamentally respectful about a man with such a filthy occupation who does this. He hones a certain class, style and respect to those around him and now I feel that Tseng is possibly one of those pretty underrated characters in this heavily convoluted plot line who deserves a lot more exposure and credit than I believe fandom generally gives him. 

How they play them: I actually spied you around other blogs that I follow and I remember thinking how much I loved your writing. I guess I was reluctant to follow you back then because I don’t recall Cloud having all that much to do with Tseng and just couldn’t for the life of me conjure up a scenario where the two could possibly interact. That and I suppose I felt somewhat intimidated by the way you skilfully portray Tseng and the sheer amount of thought that went into the replies I sneakily read here and there on the dash. But I digress, you hone a certain flair when it comes to giving this man a voice, you make him stoic but with enough emphasis on his thought process that makes me want to know just that little bit more, which slotted quite nicely when it came to my Cloud acting standoffish and being a general dickweed when it comes to attempting to converse with him and gain reactions. I think you’ve gotten Tseng’s character down to a fine art, my friend, and it really is an absolute treat to finally be given the opportunity to write with you. 

The Mun: We haven’t spoken a whole lot, and perhaps that’s mostly down to me. I’m guilty of being a bit weird and shy when it comes to conversing OOC, and I’m terrible at keeping a conversation going so there’s that. But from reading your ooc posts on the dash I’ve come to my own conclusion that you seem pretty chill and pretty funny to boot. Both great qualities in my book~ 

Do I:

RP with them: yes!! Want to RP with them: Gosh do I? Like, I would love to try something a little more in-depth, perhaps a bit deeper than what we’ve had previously considering what Tseng already knows about Zack and about Cloud’s troubled past, there’s a lot of potential for some very interesting interactions there in my personal opinion. 

What is my;

Overall Opinion: There’s not a lot I can say here without simply repeating myself, but I very much enjoy seeing you on my dash and the interactions we’ve had thus far. My only true regret is not following sooner because I feel I would have missed out on some proper quality rping~

     [ So due to life being a TOTAL MESS these last several weeks, I actually managed to miss a rather important date last week...that being the fourth anniversary of Ryū and I RPing on Tumblr! It’s weird, it both feels like it’s been longer, and shorter...but! To celebrate, I thought we’d do a little shout-out to the peeps who have stuck around the longest, interacted the most, and overall just made these past four years as fun as they have been. 

     Sadly very few of our original partners remain, but we’ve gained and lost many over the past four years! This, of course, isn’t mean to exclude anyone who has found us more recently (and some inactive blogs may be excluded, but are still loved), but as a little something for those who have been around for the long haul, and who we’ve gotten to know well both IC and OOC! The Naruto RPC has seen its share of ups and downs and changes, after all. So without further adieu...here we go! ]

It’s been so awesome watching you and your muses grow since you arrived in the community. Tumblr wouldn’t be what it is to us without you <3

The clicking between our muses was so much fun to explore (and in some cases, so unexpected!), and remain some of my most memorable interactions we’ve had in this site since coming here. And you are legitimately one of the nicest muns we’ve ever had the pleasure to meet! <3

@hyugainterior :: Hina-mun, you too are one of the brightest lights in the Naruto (and other fandoms) RPC. Your voracious positivity never fails to inspire me. While we don’t write IC, you’re still one of the most memorable people I’ve met during my time here, and every snippet of conversation we have is a gift I treasure. I just hope you’re keeping up with your own well-being as much as you strive to do so for others <3

     Geez, that time of the year again, isn’t it? I can’t believe how quickly 2017 has gone by. So, let me just say a few things in the spirit of the season!

     Man, this year, I’ve felt the most welcome on an RP blog that I’ve ever felt ever, and that...that’s crazy. I’ve been RPing on tumblr since eighth grade, and I’m in my first year of college now. There have been people that have been with me since the beginning, and there are people that I’ve only just met in the almost two years now that I’ve been on Shinji. And, let me just say: no matter how long you’ve stuck with me on this ride, I love and appreciate you so much.

     I’ve gotten lots of comments and high praise on my portrayal of Shinji this year, which I don’t say to brag; I say it to highlight just how loving and encouraging this community has been and continues to be! It makes me so happy to see even just small spontaneous questions in my inbox or to be tagged in things randomly, because it means you guys notice and love the work I put into Shinji. Evangelion has become very near and dear to my heart, partly because, as you may know, I do relate pretty heavily to Shinji, but also largely because of the amazing people I’ve met by RPing in its community. And so, I can’t repeat this enough: thank you for making what I do worth it.

     Here are some shoutouts to people that have been especially instrumental ( pun perhaps intended ) in making my experience here a positive one:

Magi ( @psychic-sun ) - Ohhhh boy HERE WE GO. Magi. You are the light of my life. We are the two balls of anxiety. The sunrise duo. The beeb and the boob. The flesh sack cleaning Ikari Lucas Goodwill Smiths. And also, how were you ever intimidated by me? BUT in all seriousness, thank you for pulling me out of some really bad places this year. Thank you for being patient with me and waiting until I was ready to take a step forward, thank you for being the kindest, most understanding, most encouraging person I’ve ever dated ever ( and not to mention cutest! ). Thank you for putting up with my stupid shenanigans, like the twitter layouts and fucking memorizing the entire Kaworu Hits on Shinji video. Just, thank you for everything. I’m never afraid when I talk to you, and if the anxiety does kick in you’re always there to kick its ass. I really hope I’ve been able to do the same for you. You are amazing, way more than you realize, you are going to kick senior year’s ass, and then whatever college you go to, you’re going to kick its ass. I absolutely believe you’re capable of getting into super selective schools and pushing through difficulties that you set your mind to. I love you sosososo much ♥ ♥ ♥

Emmi and Niko ( @derverlust and @ayanxmi ) - MY CANON GIRLS!! MY SQUAD!! My gosh, I just...you guys already know how much I adore your writing and characterization, but I just can’t state it enough. The work and thought you guys put into your muses is incredible, and I’m so honored to not only be able to write with people that are so talented and understand their muses so well, but to be mains with them?? Like??? What did I do to deserve you guys??? I never thought I’d end up as close with you guys as I have!! And not only that, but you both are absolutely a joy to talk to OOC, and have helped me through some really bad shit in my life. I know I can always count on you two for advice, or at the very least a pick me up when I’m down. Here’s to another year of wild EVA shenanigans! I hope I continue to live up to my role as you guys’ Shinji. ♥

Simon ( @rakuene ) - Holy fuck Simon. Holy fuck. You already know how wild our RP shenanigans have gotten in the four mcfucking years that we’ve known each other. I need not say more than SUMOverse or Ore no Muse for you to know. But, jeez...I can’t imagine what my experience both IC and OOC would have been like without you? I love that our characters have such great dynamics no matter who they are, and that I can also talk to you about anything OOC. You know about pretty much all of the shit I’ve gone through and have been there through a lot of it to help me, and I hope I’ve done and continue to do the same for you. I’m so blessed to have gotten to meet someone amazing and loyal like you.

Bell, Red, and Jae ( @retalupine, @invictrix, @velvequeen ) - SQUADRILATERAL ROLL UP. Okay no but seriously, Bell and Red, you guys have been with me practically since Kei’s birth, and Jae, even if we’ve only really started talking this year, you can’t have a squadrilateral without four sides, and you’re super sweet and cute and I’m so glad I’ve gotten to know you too! You guys are my tea-spilling, salty-sweet squad, and I can always count on you guys to keep things real. Plus, all our muses’ interactions are fun to watch, and it’s been great to watch them develop over the years into what they are now! And I super appreciate you guys sticking with me no matter which community I hop to next, and I will absolutely, 100% always do the same for you.

Chib ( @of-magic-and-fun ) - SYYYYYYYD YOU ALREADY KNOW HOW MUCH I LOVE YOU. No but seriously, can you believe we used to just write RPs on paper in middle / high school and come up with shenanigans and now we’re still here doing the same shit, except with formatting and all that jazz? You are literally a sweet cinnamon roll with tons of extra frosting that this world does not deserve, too good, too pure. I know things are tough right now, but I’m here for you! And I will stick with you through any community you write in or anywhere you end up living IRL ( even if that means mainly discord communication ). We’re ride or die at this point.

Zach ( @insectoide ) - You know what the fuck is up Zach. From the time before I knew you up until now, I never would have imagined myself friends with someone as cool and talented as you ( and yes, I do, after a year, still think you’re super cool like I did before we talked ). I know you go through a lot of shit that you don’t deserve whatsoever, and I’m here for you for all of it. Though despite all of it, you’ve stayed strong and true to your beliefs, no bullshit, and I’m SO glad and so happy for you for that. And not to mention your bomb ass writing?? Your contributions to fandom have made it such a great place, and I’m so glad I’ve gotten to be part of it in some way!

Diego ( @hogarsis ) - Diegoooooooo!! My fellow magical girl enthusiast! My gosh, I was so excited when you very first followed me back on Kyubey, and then on Nagisa and just across all your muses. No matter who they are, they always seem to have a great dynamic right from the beginning, and a super unique one at that! There are tons of places we can take their interactions and they’re always super multi-layered, and I’m all about that good multi-layered shit. You’re a super flexible and talented writer and RPer, and I will continue to follow you and write with you wherever you decide to go!

“If my world needed cleansing,” Arceus all but whispered, leaning in as if he was telling a secret, “don’t you think I would have done it myself?”

This new position was a lot better, in Arceus’ opinion. Not only did this make him physically taller than the person he was scolding, but it seemed to humiliate the mortal if only just a bit. At this point, his anger had made all but an aura around him that burned brighter than any flame, though obviously it wouldn’t be visible to those who couldn’t see it.

But Lysandre brought up valid points. Arceus has to physically control his breathing and backed up in an attempt to gather and state his thoughts. He was right - the world was full of strife and pain. “There are other ways to solve the world’s problems than total annihilation. I applaud you for your courage to stand up and try to change the world, but what’s truly deplorable is your methods of inducing change. Did you not think, for one minute, that perhaps you’d do a lot more damage than good?”

Arceus was still downright pissed. He stood over Lysandre, hands angrily on his hips and a frown of disappointment dominating his features. “And to think you’d want me to thank you for nearly destroying everything I’ve built, a world I’ve spent centuries cultivating. To think I’d thank you, for attempting to destroy everything I built my life around.”

Scowling wasn’t exactly the word Arceus would use to describe his expression. Glowering was close, but it didn’t quite strike home. Not only was the god disappointed with the man before him, he was downright furious. But the act of physically tilting one’s head up to give death glares was uncommon for the gijinka. Granted, in human form he wasn’t outstandingly tall - right around 6′3″, to be precise.

But this mountain of a man before him… being physically looked down on… it made the deity all the more uncomfortable. He opened his mouth, and remained flabbergasted for a solid few minutes, searching for the words to express his feelings. This mere mortal had been inches from eradicating all life on the planet.

Arceus couldn’t help but scoff to himself. Humans had been getting more and more pushy these days. He thought the scare in Sinnoh hit a bit too close to home, but this stunt was pretty high up there in threat level.

“Forgive you?” His breath came out like a whisper, quiet and low, but rumbling with a certain energy, not unlike the power behind an earthquake. The deity shifted his weight back and forth from foot to foot. His arms trembled with rage, and he crossed them over his chest, digging his fingertips into his own upper arms to keep him from violently assaulting this human. “You think I’ll just forgive you for everything you did, and everything you tried to do, just because you asked?” Arceus scoffed, shaking his head. “Your sheer audacity never ceases to amaze me.”

Lysandre may have towered over the being before him, but he hardly felt like it.  He may have commanded respect with his regal bearing and cold, cold eyes, but even that was nothing compared to the power radiating off the creature before him.  Even at a glance, the Flare leader could tell this was no mere man.

He gave the smallest flinch as the deity’s wrath washed over him, barely more than a fluttering of his eyes.  Only one being had an aura like that.  Arceus himself.  Lysandre de Fleur knelt to no one, but it occurred to him that he really ought to now.  And so he did, taking one knee and bowing his head low.

“This world needed to be cleansed.  Can You not see how much suffering there is within it?  How much pain?  All caused by selfish humans who care for nothing but their own gain.  Such a state of affairs is deplorable.  It could not have been allowed to go on.  My intentions were good.  I only wished to perfect Your creation.”

HOLY HELL @madamesehun I forgot I had RP characters as well lmao my poor babies. SO like the dumbass I am I’m gonna re-reply to some answers using the four of them.

But first, quick descriptions:

- Yul La’nfan is a mercenary, ex soldier in a war, from a fantasy inspired RP. She specializes in protecting animals transports, is a fierce warrior master of a lot of weapons, with a thirst for knowledge. She appears kinda cold at first and is pretty awkward at human interactions but she’s very good at her job. Basically a badass covered in tattoos.

- Neith is a slave, from a different country but same universe. She is very shy and anxious, but deeply grateful and loyal to her mistress and friend. She is the link that pulls together her close friend group, and tries to always appear upbeat and happy even though she’s STRESSED all the time lmao. She’s cute and A Baby.

- Percival Callaghan is a librarian specializing in history/mythology and with a passion for astronomy, on a spaceship in (technically) the same universe as the other two. He’s a bit haughty, or at least comes off as kind of arrogant bc he is shitty at people and would just rather avoid them. Also has some anger issues regarding his dad who used to beat him and his mother up. Loves to play with his hidden blade. Is a dumbass, probably.

- Sigrid is from a RP set in “The Mirror Visitor” (La Passe-Miroir) universe. She’s from the Pole, and from the Dragon family, which means the mentality of showing no weakness ever was beaten into her as a child, and now she’s convinced herself she’s a cold ass b*tch that doesn’t care about anything (she definitely does). She’s very guarded, but most of it melts away when she gets to do her work, aka being a gifted florist in a world where illusions of grandeur tend to run rampant. She fierce, she passionate, she a wreak as well.

4. Cuddle

I’d love to cuddle with Yul! She’d be very awkward about it but also like I’m sure she’d be an absolutely wonderful pillow and would end up melting in your arms so…

6. Dance with

I want Sigrid to take me on a waltz!!! We’d look so good together yeees

10. Pull an all nighter with

Percival! That man knows so many things, I could listen to him for hours!

11. Work with

Neith has a really good work ethic, so it would be pretty relaxing (for me, not for her, poor thing)

Obviously, Yul would be an amazing person to spar with!!! She knows a lot about SO MANY WEAPONS, and actually loves to teach fighting so that’d be amazing
