Laudna's been so dead set on using Delilah since she started spiraling after Whitestone. Marisha is really playing up the deadend angle, and she's mentioned Imogen saying that Delilah disgusts her has been playing on repeat in her head.

Makes me think that because she's mentioned that she doesn't know where she begins and Delilah ends that she now believes there's no future for her and Imogen because in her head if Imogen finds Delilah disgusting that extends to her even if Imogen doesn't think that. She's helpless that she can ever be free, so I get that line of thinking in her current state. Now she thinks she may as well throw herself into saving the world even at the cost of her existence. It's all very sad.

I do think Imogen's "I'll miss our cottage" line could have the potential to break through Laudna's current doomed thinking with continued support though. That really broke her. She was the one to bring up settling in a cottage with horses after all. She's just been so f-ed up by a landslide of Delilah doom recently that she can't fully escape that like a flip of a switch. It is curious to me that she gave pause to consuming that amulet she picked up from the ground instead of just getting on with absorbing more power if she's so focused on getting stronger through feeding Delilah. She's already let the group know she intends to use Delilah. I'm not entirely sure how long that line of thinking is going to last.

It's going to be interesting to see how Marisha has Laudna internalize everything that just happened as she has more time to let what everyone said sink in. Especially her and Imogen's heartbreaking conversation. Marisha has really been amping up the role play of Laudna disassociating and having Delilah peak through though. For example, her pointing out that Laudna was in a fugue state while crafting her new outfit the night before, only to then point out Laudna's confusion at the inspiration behind the completed project and it turning out to look very Delilah influenced. Indicating Laudna really doesn't have full control of herself. This is not a simple struggle, especially with no current hope of ever being rid of Delilah.

“Wind? Is everything okay?” a voice called softly.

“Yeah.”

“May I come in?”

“Sure.”

Time slowly opened the door to the sailor’s room. It was dark, the curtains hadn’t been closed and the sun’s setting rays cast a dim orange glow on the old furniture.

Wind sat on his knees with his back turned, hunched over. His body was still, but every now and then the sound of a droplet could be heard hitting the wooden floor.

“Can I sit next to you?”

“Okay.”

There was no tremor in his youthful voice, no indication that anything was wrong to anyone passing by. But Time wasn’t just anyone.

It broke the man’s heart, hearing the voice of a child so full of life and joy sound so flat, so monotone.

But this wasn't the first time he’d been like this.

Adults would normally chalk it up to ‘puberty’ and ‘hormones’. “He’s just going through what all young boys go through at this age” they’d say. They were wrong.

Time sat on the floor next to Wind, pulling him in close.

“I’m alright, I promise.”

Nothing was said in response.

Wind was calm. His face, unusually unanimated, hadn’t even a frown.

They sat there, long enough for the sun to fully set. The droplets continued to hit the floor.

“It’s okay to hurt, you have big brothers to take care of you now. You’re not alone anymore” Time whispered and pressed a kiss to Wind’s golden curls.

Then something broke.

The others sat in the living room silently.

The sobs that echoed downstairs were soul crushing.

These are the instances I noticed (so far) in book 3 where Nate casually thinks about MC becoming a vampire. And I really love this conflict he has within him, the duality of his feelings: on the one hand, he wants to spend his eternity with MC but on the other, he isn't sure if becoming a vampire should be an option. His desperation of not wanting to lose MC is clear as day but at the same time, whichever option he'd go for, he'd risk exactly that.

1.) MC remains human? Guaranteed death sooner or later, either by old age, or as a result of some fight. Which is basically Nate's biggest fear, not being able to defend and save MC.

2.) Turning MC into a vampire? Would they survive the procedure at all? And if they do...what would that mean in regards to their blood, their effect on the supernatural and would they be safe at all when their life is full of constant danger? Would it really make things any better?

Either way, Nate is just consumed by the fear of losing MC. Coupled with his own guilt and fear of hurting them... I can't wait to see how this conflict will unfold in the next books!

And I love that we could finally scratch the surface of Nate's and MC's feelings about Nate being a vampire while MC is not and have a meaningful, albeit short, discussion about it! So much so, that I had to try every dialogue option here, so if you haven't seen them yet, here you go:

Break: What would cause your OC to break down? What do they look like when they do? Has anyone ever seen them at their lowest.

Jules is sensitive to stimulation. Moments that are very eventful, extremely uncertain, or simply "too much" to handle on her own will cause her to break down.

Whenever she endures this, her angler's color will quickly flash between indigo, magenta, and red. Aside from her angler, she'll freeze up in place and cry, often on the ground.

Her parents are aware of this. The only other person who has seen her like this is Matío, her close hylian friend.
