Blight / Blur : Gym Guides
In Gen 5 canon, there's only one gym guide throughout each of the gyms, named Clyde, who gives you a bottle of Fresh Water upon entering/upon interacting with him.
In Blur/Blight, however, Clyde is specifically the gym guide in Burgh's gym. In BW, he was the guide for Burgh's gym as he had a taste for his art- in BW2, however, he becomes the gym guide for Cheren's gym!
There are different gym guides for each gym leader, and they have their own partner Pokemon;
Striaton - Waitress Tia (Patrat)
Nacrene - Scientist Satomi (Herdier)
Castelia - Gentleman Clyde (Deerling) / Harlequin Jack (Swadloon)
Nimbasa - Lady Colette (Flaafy)
Driftveil - Clerk Katie (Drilbur)
Mistralton - Pilot Chase (Unfezant)
Icirrus - Black Belt Thomas (Cubchoo)
Opelucid - Veteran Kim (Fraxure) / Veteran Ron (Fraxure)
Aspertia - Gentleman Clyde (Sawsbuck)
Virbank - Guitarist Billy Jo (Koffing)
Humilau - Ace Trainer Santino (Walrein)
Clyde's trainer class is a Gentleman, he's just dressed differently!
All the other gym guides in Blur/Blight are existing NPCs in the games! Some of them are npcs in only one of the games, while some are npcs in both, but unless specified, they're the gym guides in both BW and BW2! (Harlequin Jack and Pilot Chase are in both BW/BW2 for example, but Clerk Katie is only in BW!)
#BW/BW2 Rewrite - Blur / Blight#((I had fun picking who should be their gym guides. For the Opelucid one there's a funny coincidence that-))#((-there's a veteran named Kim in BW and Ron in BW2. Kim and Ron. Kim Possible and Ron Stoppable moment JHSAJKHSAJKHSA))#((Let's just assume they're married and Veteran Kim went out of the region to continue getting stronger while her husband became the-))#((-new gym guide.))#((Gym guides who also battle. Except for Clyde he's just vibing.))#((Clerk Katie doesn't battle anymore in BW she got SUPER promoted and just greets people by the door now.))#((I'm having fun w these guys actually I want to try fleshing them out <3))#((Clyde is like SUPER enthusiastic about watching battles but can't battle himself-))#((Waitress Tia is an older family friend of the triplets who manages most of the restaurant's finances))#((Satomi is a student of Lenora's who chose to work there even after graduating college))#((I'll make a separate post about them maybe but <3 Yeah))

"At worst it's shipping a serial murder with the father of his victim" yeah that's why it's FUN, they're both fucked in the head and only deserve each other! Bruce knows exactly what he's doing and the drama if/when resurrected Jason finds out has such delicious "lost focus and had a consensual workplace relationship" vibes but with EXPLOSIONS
maybe it's my bubble of fellow "lives have been wrecked by infedelity" fanfic writers but i don't know anyone who actually sees it as healthy or anything but either one-sided or big cheating-on-his-mission-for-Justice vibes. Batman doesn't deserve a healthy relationship because he's ruined his loved ones lives. So he's stuck with the creepy stalker that's obsessed with him. I know like 3 other writers w this viewpoint, not every ship is all UWU, sometimes toxic ships are fun. It's not flattening Bruce, it's adding complexity and inner turmoil, but it also assumes you're working with a view of Bruce most of the fandom doesn't share because everyone loves Batdad, idk. Just tossing in my 2 cents.
I also wrote a whole thing creating Jeannie as a fully fleshed character outside of "Mrs. Napier" so don't say it's something about erasing women, maybe on some subconscious level that I need to work on, but I do try to counter it with fleshing out other female characters. I enjoy Talia & Selina but Bruce is fundamentally a fucked up guy and he rlly only deserves a fucked up ship. Idk.
Thanks for reading this or skimming and deleting it idk im mostly shouting to the void
i went back and forth on whether or not i wanted to respond to this jokingly or seriously or even at all, considering theres So Many Other Things I Could Do With My Limited Time On This Earth, but honestly you as a person seem infuriating in a very specific, Jerking Off On The Page Never Read A Comic Donated To AO3 Harry Potter Fan-type way and im sort of diametrically opposed to you because of this so i will formulate a "brief" response.
putting it out there first and foremost: i really don't care all that much because i'm an adult and i have other fucking shit to do, but comics is an industry that i am both passionate about and want to work in, so i think i'm granted a little bit of bitching about misinterpretation of characters, considering i want to Actually Write Them For A Living at some point.
for starters i notice that you changed what i said about joker from sexual predator to serial murderer. hmmmmmm. could it be that that is a line you realize shouldn't be crossed?
that aside, the reason i bring up jason ties into why your approach (an approach shared by many) to bruce wayne is fundamentally flawed. bruce wayne is a man who had nobody, and then gradually accumulated a network of strong support systems that are more important to him than anything else. i mean that. really, from a character standpoint, bruce died in that alleyway with martha and thomas - everything from there until meeting dick was him going through the motions. living death. but dick changed things! it gave him a person to care about! it gave him responsibilities outside himself! it forced him to be a caretaker! albeit, in the early years, he wasn't a very good one, but he did try.
and we can see that attitude continued in his relationship to jason - when jason dies, bruce changes. i've talked before about how death in the family changed not just batman, but batman comics tonally and thematically, but jason's death really marked a point where bruce closed himself off from people again. all of this reinforces the fact that for bruce, he is fundamentally a man that claims to work alone while actually being surrounded by friends and family.
to bruce, compassion is key. compassion in EVERYTHING. with your family and with your criminals.
you want drama between bruce and jason? their story is already rife with it. literally just read under the red hood and you'll see, nothing there needs to change or have Drama inserted.
also, this comic is really funny and antithetical to your They Belong Together point because bruce explicitly says he fucking hates the joker so much.
and man, i dont even know where to start with this paragraph, it's just so goddamn funny. hey. you know you sound insane, right? you know that? you know you're shooting yourself in the foot? i didn't say a goddamn thing about erasing women. you said that. that's an issue you recognized in yourself. it's not one i won't say is there - i could go on for hours about the discarding of canon female love interests (canonically bisexual female love interests in the case of selina and canonically love interests who are both woc! hmmmm) out of misogyny, but i won't because it seems like you've kinda got that front covered.
and, again, cause i can't say this enough: bruce's friends and family are the most important thing to him and he will always prioritize them. he loves them.
just as an afterthought, framing bruce as "fundamentally fucked up" is kind of weird to do. i mean, i have my problems with framing any hero as "what if they were evil, actually" (the least of which being that i think it's pretty fuckin boring) but this post does a pretty good job of summing up "is bruce wayne really a good guy?" (the answer is yes)
anyway, you want to ship bruce with a sexual abuser who murdered his son and ruined his life? i can't stop you. but i do urge you to think critically about the character decisions you're making there and step outside of your fanfiction echo chamber and into the wonderful world of comics for once. if you need recommendations on where to start for good bruce characterization, i've got plenty.
ps. you want bruce to kiss one of his villains? harvey dent's right there. xoxoxo ferris

hey~ so awhile ago i made a uquiz that asked for some unpopular a3! opinions. here is the verdict (note: responses have only been edited for spelling, and if a response mentioned members of multiple troupes they are repeated in each section) enjoy!:
tsuzuru should become a professional gay drama fanfic writer based off the mankai company
Chikage is a cool character but if he doesn't get over his mom trauma and keeps treating women bad its gonna be a problem. Like outside of kidnapping izumi as a sabotage for the company he treated her so bad bc she's a woman and he was like "oh I realize ur not like other girls" I hate it here
Sakuya is underappreciated and deserves some more heart to heart talks.
Citron and Izumi would make a fantastic couple!!
TsuzuMizu is one of the world’s greatest love stories. The Y E A R N I N G
I think that. Chikage :)
I don’t like Masumi
why does everyone like chikage and itaru i dont understand
masumi pls stop deep breathin
Tsuzuru’s deadlines were only for the first 4 plays of the company and the fact that no one says this to him or try’s to help him with his sleep and work means they’re perfectly fine with him ruining his health if they get what they want from him (a good script) in this essay I will
if they don't release the sprites of itaru and banri's older sisters i have no choice but to assume they're hot af and also sapphic
Izumi needs to place a restraining order on Masumi
Muku has bigger duality than Itaru
Masumi is creepy
Itarun is baby
citron is a walking racist stereotype and thats why i dont like a3 :)
itaru is too good looking for his own good, love that for him
sakuya deserves the world but that's not an opinion it's just a fact
I- u. H m— u h— ...... so like- Taichi Banri and Tenma hanging out being friends. Y e s—
muku nonbinary
Yuki is a cishet, and saying he isn't when it's stated he is, and gets bullied for not being cishet makes me feel wrong
a3! writers: we addressed kazu's problems me: you didn't address shit a3! writers: we've addressed them
misumi deserves the world
Yuki is Ace and no it’s a fact people refuse to acknowledge
maybe we should talk more about how kazunari never got his conclusion and still has issues being himself but im just sayin
i don't think is actually unpopular but a3 im begging you. please stop type-casting characters and let characters other than yuki play female characters hdjkhfjkhfjs khjksh ok thanks
Misumi x Tenma is NOT valid (Sorry not sorry)
idk if this is unpopular but i wish misumi’s character was more fleshed out...his whole life can’t be 1.) triangle and 2.) parental neglect ToT
Muku has bigger duality than Itaru
cmon we could have a little izumi/banri's older sister. just for fun and banri's mild suffering
Juza is overrated
I- u. H m— u h— ...... so like- Taichi Banri and Tenma hanging out being friends. Y e s—
if they don't release the sprites of itaru and banri's older sisters i have no choice but to assume they're hot af and also sapphic
i actually don't see the appeal in SakyoIzu. idk, Izumi can do better than that
banri depressed :( thats why he angy
juza and omi superior ship
banri has good fashion taste fite me
taichi is a top tier boy <3
Taiyuki supremacy
jtszbn :]
taichi and juza good ship why does no one ship GRRR i angery
juza is way more interesting than people give him credit for! him just casually offering to cross dress...i love him. also he definitely wears eyeliner
idk man but taichi is severely underappreciated
Juza and banri are both subs but banri is a brat and makes juza top. Juza's mom has beaten god behind a 711
Nachi is best boy
Azumi needs to Stop
Uhhhh the puppy characters aren't actually that cute and Taichi is very annoying on the surface before taking into account his backstory. The characters who have passions and interests outside of just being good to you, the player, are much cuter imo
it's not an unpopular opinion, i'm literally just in love with omi
Homare’s definitely gay, I can feel it
azuma... asexual.. thank u for coming 2 my ted talk
Tasuku is a himbo. He's buff, he's stupid, and contrary to popular belief he is NOT mean, yall are just sensitive. I will die mad about this
Tasuku is a himbo. No I will not budge on this. After he stops being an asshole he BECOMES a himbo and if liber would just SHOW him being the himbo he was meant to be then I'd be able to rest in peace
Hisoka is a really good flirt
U h Hisoka is so fuvkimg short i swear to fucking god he needs to drink more fucking milk-
Beyond the Wall is not that good.
guy deserves more thirsty hoes why does he have so few give guy thirsty hoe stans
homare rights
Homare world domination
hisoka unhinge
Azuma is genderfluid.
Tsumugi and his "grandma" vibe ;)))
Homare mermaid play. We need it
Azuma deserves a hug so does Homare actually all of Winter Troupe deserves a hug
Cybird pls let me date izumi I would like to give her a kiss pls
They’re all gay
Gay
I'm gay
i’m conflicted about izumi bc on the one hand i like fleshed out female leads but on the other hand because i’m so different from her i find it hard to relate to the game sometimes
the anime is still not perfect but I like it for what it is
um i dont hate this particularly, but it annoys me how everyone ships the lead and co-lead (saku&masu, tenyuki, juban) because they have a good dynamic, like ??? yeah lol and?? but its harmless and stuff so in chill w it. only exception is tasuku and tsumu because they do have chemistry!! absolutely hinted at
#a3!#a3! actor training game#a3! act! addict! actors!#note: a lot of people said gay so i reduced it to those three variations lmfao#the person who said jza is overrated is my enemy btw#also several ppl just left me cute messages TTTT i love y'all#if i get more responses i might make a part two of this but i think this quiz has crested a bit

This isn't a prompt, but I could use some help figuring this out. There's this one trope that I would love to write about in the context of TG (more specifically Amon and Kaneki). Basically, a situation where (a) CCG member(s) would be forced to cooperate with (a) ghoul(s). I'm just imagining all the implications, the mutual tensions, the honestly (probably) awkward interactions, CCG member(s) forced to speak with ghoul(s) and have their ideas (cont.1-3)
challenged, an understanding of the cycle of grief etc. The problem is that I’m having trouble coming up with a reasonable situation where that trope could occur. All I’ve come up with is 1) just for giggles the clowns decide to handcuff a CCG member to a ghoul, and possible toss them in the ghoul restaurant to force a scrapper. (Or maybe they face a scrapper un-handcuffed) 2) some kind of “bottle episode” version of a fic (cont.2-3)
where the CCG member clearly knows their trapped with a ghoul who for some reason won’t attack. I’m not sure how I’d get pulled off though. If you have any advice on how to improve the concept or a better situation for how it could get pulled off I’d be very thankful, and thanks for taking the time to read this (end.)Tokyo Ghoul is pretty flexible with potential situations - Kanou’s lab always allows for the possibility of people being captured and forced to interact (CCG agent goes to investigate, finds people turned against their will, is forced to face the potential reality of changing themselves), The Great Wheel organization could take a full cult tilt and capture Doves with the explicit intention of changing their minds, if you go back before :RE Aogiri is FULL of potential meetings between ghouls and investigators. For specifically Amon and Kaneki, there’s even more possibilities: there’s SO MANY fics where one has had to save the other, resulting in close contact for extended periods of time. There’s also potential prison break scenarios where Donato escapes and Amon goes after him, getting captured by the Clowns, or in light of recent events, just kinda going off the deep end and losing himself. Kaneki is pretty deeply entangled in all human-ghoul affairs, so if it involves the CCG, he’ll be there. NGL though I’m a big fan of the situation you thought up with the handcuffing. Comedic tension is one of my favourite tropes (a situation that could be funny, but written correctly is actually terrifying) and it’s a favourite of Ishida’s too. Since it seems to be what you have the most fleshed out, let’s roll from there!
So, we have an investigator (Amon presumably?) who has been captured by the Clowns. An excellent opening to this would be Donato’s escape - you could AU this so he escapes before Amon is turned into a half-ghoul since it has more ‘my beliefs are being absolutely totaled’ tension. If Donato ever fled Cochlea, which we now know he absolutely could have, Amon would 100% go after him. Since V and the Clowns have so heavily infiltrated the CCG however, we know they wouldn’t actually be that interested in stopping Donato…so Amon goes off alone. We know he’s a stubborn guy and wouldn’t listen to reason (or the suspicions that Akira has). Plus his guilt would absolutely drive him to prefer working alone. The Clowns are pretty invested in Kaneki as a source of entertainment and they know he’s interacted with Amon before. It wouldn’t be too much of a stretch to assume they’d make sure Kaneki found out about his capture. If this is before Haise, then Kaneki is still in full-on flat-out suicidal martyr mode, meaning that he would also rush in to help alone. Cue him getting captured as well.Since the Clowns love chaos and games, they could be interested in seeing what happens when these two are chained together while Kaneki slowly starves. They could set them up to fight a scrapper because heyoooooo scrappers can be humans BUT they work for ghouls. A challenge to both Kaneki and Amon’s morals. There’s some excellent meta talking about how Kaneki doesn’t really consider violent ghouls to be people, so this would be a GREAT tension factor. Imagine Kaneki trying to teach Amon about the ghoul side of things and being called out as a hypocrite. Now you’ve got two people struggling with their worldview getting w r e c k e d. So say they are facing the scrapper - unhandcuffed is best. Because it gives Amon the opportunity to kill Kaneki and likewise. The Clowns could IMPLY that to get out alive Kaneki will need to eat Amon or Amon will need to kill Kaneki. Now, where all the implications / tension / doubts lay is in what makes a person worth saving? Also, what makes specifically Kaneki or Amon worth saving? Amon is constantly guilt-ridden about Donato choosing to NOT kill him, so Kaneki’s decision to let him live during their first battle HAUNTS him. He can justify it to himself in that he had stopped being a threat, but in this new situation there’s going to need to be better justification than that. Kaneki thinks Amon doesn’t deserve to die just on the basis of being human, but in an actual life-or-death situation in which Amon is questioning his reasons, Kaneki is also going to need to think deeper. There’s a lot of really great meta about both of them and their reasons for fighting, what they think justice is, etc. that I would recommend looking for. It can help direct you with what kind of situations you want to put them in based on what you want to come out of it, y’dig? I’ve gotta go to class so I’ll stop here, but if you have more questions or more specifics feel free to message me and we can keep bouncing ideas! This has been fun!
